¹ And Job answered and said: ² Until when will you torment my soul and break me in pieces with words? ³ And this, ten times you have shamed me; you are not ashamed that you have wronged me. ⁴ And if indeed I have erred, my error remains with me. ⁵ If truly you magnify yourself against me, and plead my misery against me, ⁶ know now that God has overthrown me and His net has closed on me. ⁷ Behold, I cry out, Violence! And I am not answered; I cry aloud, but there is no justice. ⁸ He has fenced up my path so that I cannot pass; and He has set darkness on my paths. ⁹ He has stripped me of my honor, and He has taken the crown from my head. ¹⁰ He has broken me on every side, and I go; and He has uprooted my hope like a tree. ¹¹ And also His wrath glows against me, and to Himself He counts me as His foe. ¹² His troops come together and they heap up their way against me; and they camp around my tent. ¹³ He has put my brothers from me; and my knowers are truly alienated from me. ¹⁴ My near ones have fallen away, and my friends have forgotten me. ¹⁵ The tenants in my house, even my slave-girls, count me as a foreigner; I am an alien in their eyes. ¹⁶ I called my servant, but he does not answer; I must beg him with my mouth. ¹⁷ My breath is strange to my wife, and I must beg to the sons of my mother's womb. ¹⁸ Even young children despise me; I rise, and they speak against me. ¹⁹ All the men of my counsel detest me; even this one I loved has turned against me. ²⁰ My bone clings on my skin and on my flesh; and I have escaped by the skin of my teeth. ²¹ Have pity on me! Have pity on me, you my friends. For the hand of God has touched me. ²² Why do you pursue me, as God does, and are not satisfied with my flesh? ²³ Oh that my words were now written! Oh that they were engraved in a book! ²⁴ Oh that they were cut with an iron pen and lead in the rock forever! ²⁵ For I know my Redeemer is living, and He shall rise on the earth at the last; ²⁶ and after my skin has been struck off from my flesh, yet this, I shall see God, ²⁷ whom I shall see for myself, and my eyes shall behold, and no stranger; though my reins be exhausted in my bosom. ²⁸ For you may say, Why do we persecute him? And the root of the matter is found in me. ²⁹ Fear for yourselves because of the sword; for fury brings punishments of the sword, that you may know there is a judgment.

¹⁶ And it happened, because she distressed him with her words all the days, and urged him; and his soul was grieved to death,

² Until when will you speak these things, since the words of your mouth are like a mighty wind?

² Until when will you set a snare for words? Consider, and afterwards we will speak.

² As God lives, He has taken away my judgment; yea, the Almighty has made my soul bitter.

² have mercy on me, O Jehovah, for I am weak; heal me, O Jehovah, for my bones are troubled. ³ My soul also is greatly troubled and You, O Jehovah, until when?

¹ To the chief musician. A Psalm of David. Until when will You forget me, O Jehovah? Forever? Until when will You hide Your face from me?

¹⁰ My oppressors reproach me with crushing in my bones. when they say to me every day, Where is your God?

²¹ The butterings of his mouth were smooth, and war was in his heart; his words were softer than oil, but they were as drawn swords.

⁷ Behold, they bellow with their mouth; swords are in their lips; for they say, Who hears?

³ who sharpen their tongue like a sword; they tread their arrows, a bitter word,

¹⁸ There is a rash speaking like thrusts of a sword, but the tongue of the wise heals.

²¹ Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it shall eat its fruit.

⁶ And the tongue is a fire, the world of iniquity. So the tongue is set among our members, spotting all the body, and inflaming the course of nature, and having been inflamed by Hell. ⁷ For every species of beasts, both indeed of birds, of creeping things, and of sea animals, is tamed, and has been tamed by the human species; ⁸ but no one of men is able to tame the tongue; it is an evil that cannot be restrained, full of death-dealing poison.

⁷ And He delivered righteous Lot, who had been oppressed by the behavior of the lawless in lustfulness. ⁸ For that righteous one living among them day after day, in seeing and in hearing, his righteous soul was tormented with their lawless deeds.

¹⁰ And they cried with a great voice, saying, Until when, holy and true Master, do You not judge and take vengeance for our blood, from those dwelling on the earth?

⁷ And your father has cheated me and has changed my wages ten times. And God has not let him do evil to me.

⁷ And Joseph saw his brothers and recognized them; but he remained a stranger to them and spoke harsh things to them, and said to them, From where have you come? And they said, From the land of Canaan to buy food.

²⁶ When I break to you the staff of bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and shall give back your bread by weight; and you shall eat, and shall not be satisfied.

²² for all the men who are seeing My glory, and My miracles which I have done in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have tried Me these ten times, and have not listened to My voice,

¹² And it happened when the Jews who lived near them came in, they said to us ten times, From all places where you shall return, they will be against us.

⁶ Is not your reverence your hope; your hope the uprightness of your ways? ⁷ I beg you, remember, Who ever perished, being innocent? Or where were the righteous cut off? ⁸ As I have seen, the ones who plow iniquity and sow misery reap the same. ⁹ They perish from the breath of God, and by the blast of His anger they are consumed. ¹⁰ The lion roars; and the voice of the lion and the teeth of the young lions are broken; ¹¹ the old lion is perishing for lack of prey; and the lioness' offspring are scattered.

³ I have seen the fool taking root, but suddenly I cursed his dwelling place. ⁴ His sons are far from safety; yea, they are crushed in the gate; nor is there any deliverer.

⁴ If your sons have sinned against Him, and if He has sent them away in the hand of their transgression, ⁵ if you would seek earnestly to God, and make your prayer to the Almighty, ⁶ if you were pure and upright, surely now He would rise for you, and make whole the abode of your righteousness.

³ Should your lies make men silent? And will you mock, and no one make you ashamed?

¹⁴ if iniquity is in your hand, put it far away and do not let wickedness dwell in your tents;

⁴ Yea, you do away with fear, and take away devotion before God. ⁵ For your iniquity teaches your mouth; and you choose the tongue of the crafty. ⁶ Your mouth condemns you, and not I; yea, your own lips testify against you.

¹¹ Are the comforts of God small with you, and a word that deals gently with you? ¹² Why does your heart carry you away? And why do your eyes flash,

⁴ One tearing himself in his anger, shall the earth be forsaken for your sake? Or shall the rock move from its place? ⁵ Yes, the light of the wicked shall be put out; and the spark of his fire shall not blaze. ⁶ The light shall be dark in his tent; and his lamp shall be put out above him; ⁷ the steps of his strength shall be hampered; and his own counsel shall tumble him. ⁸ For he is sent into a net by his own feet; and he is walking on a snare; ⁹ the trap shall take him by the heel; a noose shall prevail over him; ¹⁰ the pitfall is hid for him in the ground, and a trap for him on the way. ¹¹ Terrors frighten him on every side and shall dash him at his feet. ¹² His strength shall be hunger-bitten, and calamity shall be ready at his side. ¹³ It devours parts of his skin; the first-born of death eats his parts. ¹⁴ His hope shall be rooted out of his tent, and you marched to the king of terrors. ¹⁵ What is not his shall dwell in his tent; brimstone is scattered on his home. ¹⁶ His roots are dried up beneath, and his branch shall wither above. ¹⁷ His memory perishes from the earth, and there is no name to him on the face of the street. ¹⁸ They push him from light to darkness, and they make him flee from the world. ¹⁹ He shall have no son nor kinsman among his people, nor any remnant in his dwellings. ²⁰ Those after him shall be amazed at his day; and those before were seized with horror. ²¹ Surely these are the tents of the perverse, and this the place that has not known God.

¹⁷ My breath is strange to my wife, and I must beg to the sons of my mother's womb.

⁸ I have become a stranger to my brothers and a foreigner to my mother's children.

²⁰ And in any matter of wisdom and understanding that the king asked from them, he found them ten times better than. all the horoscopists and the conjurers who were in all his kingdom.

¹⁷ And when he saw the angel who was striking among the people, David spoke to Jehovah and said, Behold, I have sinned. Yea, I have acted perversely. And these, the flock, what have they done? Now let your hand be on me, and on my father's house.

³ Should your lies make men silent? And will you mock, and no one make you ashamed? ⁴ For you have said, My doctrine is pure; and, I am clean in Your eyes. ⁵ But who will grant that God would speak and open His lips against you, ⁶ and would tell you the secrets of wisdom, that counsel is double? Know then that God forgets some of your iniquity for you.

¹² If you are wise, you shall be wise for yourself, but if you scorn, you alone shall bear it .

⁴ Behold, they are all My souls. As the soul of the father, also the soul of the son, they are Mine. The soul that sins, it shall die.

¹⁰ For we all must appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive the things done through the body, according to what he did, whether good or bad.

⁵ For each one will bear his own load.

⁶ And even to vexation her rival provoked her, so as to make her tremble, because Jehovah had shut up her womb.

³ And they said to me, The remnant that are left of the captivity there in the province are in great evil and shame. The wall of Jerusalem also is broken down, and its gates are burned with fire.

²⁶ Let them be ashamed and be confounded together, the ones who rejoice at my evil; let them be clothed with shame and dishonor, the ones who magnify themselves against me.

¹⁶ For I said, Lest they rejoice over me in the slipping of my foot; they exalt themselves over me.

¹¹ By this I know that You delight in me, because my enemy does not exult over me.

¹² For it is not an enemy reproaching me, or I could bear it; it is not one who hates me who is magnifying himself against me; or I would hide myself from him.

¹ And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread and wear our own clothing, only let your name be called on us; collect our shame.

⁸ Rejoice not against me, my enemy; for if I fall, I shall arise. For if sit in darkness, Jehovah is a light to me.

¹⁰ They shall have this for their pride, because they have cursed and magnified themselves against the people of Jehovah of hosts.

⁷ Jehovah also shall save the tents of Judah first, so that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem may not be magnified above Judah.

²⁵ So has the Lord done to me in the days in which He looked on me to take away my reproach among men.

² And answering, Jesus said to them, Do you think that these Galileans were sinners beyond all the Galileans, because they suffered such things? ³ No, I say to you; but if you do not repent, you will all perish in the same way. ⁴ Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell, and killed them, do you think that these were sinners beyond all men who lived in Jerusalem?

² And His disciples asked Him, saying, Teacher, who sinned, this one, or his parents, that he was born blind?

³⁴ They answered and said to him, You were born wholly in sins, and do you teach us? And they threw him outside.

²⁰ I have sinned; what do I do to You, O Watcher of man? Why have You set me as a target for You, so that I am a burden on myself?

¹¹ God has delivered me to the perverse; and He has turned me over into the hands of the wicked. ¹² I was at ease, but He has shattered me; yea, He has also taken hold on my neck and broken me to bits; and He has set me up as a target for Him. ¹³ His archers surround me; He splits my inward parts and has no pity; He pours out my gall on the ground ¹⁴ He breaks me with break on top of break; He runs on me like a warrior.

⁸ For he is sent into a net by his own feet; and he is walking on a snare; ⁹ the trap shall take him by the heel; a noose shall prevail over him; ¹⁰ the pitfall is hid for him in the ground, and a trap for him on the way.

⁹ Now You have cast us off and have shamed us. And You do not go forth with our armies. ¹⁰ You make us turn back from the oppressor; yea, our haters plunder for themselves. ¹¹ You have given us like sheep for food and have scattered us among the nations. ¹² For no gain You have sold Your people, and You are not increased by their price. ¹³ You made us a disgrace to our neighbors, a scorn and a mockery to those around us. ¹⁴ You make us a byword among the nations, a shaking of the head among the peoples.

¹⁰ For You, O God, have proved us; You have tested us as silver is refined. ¹¹ You have brought us into the net; You laid afflictions on our loins. ¹² You have let men ride at our head; we went through fire and through water, but You brought us out to plenty.

¹² Is it nothing to you, all you who pass by? Behold, and see if there is any sorrow like my sorrow which is done to me, with which Jehovah has afflicted me in the day of His burning anger. ¹³ From on high He has sent fire into my bones, and subdued it. He spread a net for my feet; He has turned me back; He gave me desolation. All the days I faint.

¹³ And I will spread My net on him, and he shall be taken in My snare. And I will bring him to Babylon, the land of the Chaldeans. Yet he will not see it, and he shall die there.

³ So says the Lord Jehovah: So I will spread out My net over you with an assembly of many peoples, and they will lift you up in My net.

¹² When they go, I will spread My net over them; I will bring them down like the birds of the heavens; I will chastise them, as a report to their congregation.

²⁴ The earth is given into the hand of the wicked; He covers the faces of its judges. If it is not He, then who is it?

³² For He is not a man, as I am, that I should answer Him; that we should come together in judgment;

³ Is it good to You that You should crush, that You should despise the work of Your hands, and You shine on the counsel of the wicked?

¹⁵ If I am wrong, woe to me! And if I am righteous, I will not lift up my head, being filled with shame and seeing my pain. ¹⁶ And if it rise, You would hunt me as a lion; and again You show Yourself wonderful in me. ¹⁷ You renew Your witnesses against me, and increase Your anger with me; changes and warfare are with me.

¹⁵ Behold, He will cut me off; I will not wait, but I will justify my ways before His face. ¹⁶ He also is my salvation, for an ungodly one shall not come before Him. ¹⁷ Listen carefully to my words, and let what I say be in your ears; ¹⁸ Behold now, I have set my cause in order; I know that I shall be justified. ¹⁹ Who is he who will strive with me? For then I would be quiet and die. ²⁰ Only two things do not do to me, O God; then I will not hide myself from Your face: ²¹ Remove Your palm from me, and let not Your terror make me afraid. ²² Then call, and I will answer; or let me speak, and reply to me. ²³ How many are my iniquities and sins? Make me know my transgressions and my sin.

¹⁷ though no violence is in my hand, and my prayer is pure. ¹⁸ O earth, do not cover my blood, and let not my cry have a place. ¹⁹ Even now, behold! My witness is in Heaven; and He who testifies of me is on high.

²¹ O that one might plead for a man with God, as a man pleads for his friend!

²⁷ Behold, I know your thoughts, and the plots you would wrongfully do against me;

³ Oh that I knew where I might find Him, I would come into His seat; ⁴ I would order my cause before Him, and I would fill my mouth with arguments. ⁵ I would know the words He would answer me, and understand what He would say to me. ⁶ Would He plead against me with greatness of strength? No, surely He would put it in me. ⁷ There the righteous might reason with Him; and I would be forever delivered from my Judge.

²⁰ I cried to You, but You did not answer me. I stood up, and You looked at me.

³⁵ Oh that I had one to hear me! See, my mark! Let the Almighty answer me, and let my Accuser write an indictment. ³⁶ Surely I would carry it on my shoulder, and bind it like crowns to me.

⁵ For Job has said, I am righteous; also, God has taken away my right;

⁸ Will you also set aside My judgment; will you condemn Me so that you may be justified?

² O my God, I cry by day, but You do not answer; and in the night, and there is no silence to me.

⁸ For whenever I speak, I cry out, I proclaim violence and ruin; for the word of Jehovah has been to me a reproach and derision all the day.

⁸ Also, when I cry out and shout for help, He shuts out my prayer.

² O Jehovah, until when shall I cry for help, and You will not hear? I cry out to You, Violence! But You do not save. ³ Why do You show me evil, and You look upon toil? For destruction and violence are before me; and there is strife, and contention rises up.

⁷ And they cried to Jehovah, and He set thick darkness between you and the Egyptians, and brought the sea on them, and covered them. And your eyes saw that which I have done in Egypt. And you lived in the wilderness many days.

²³ To a man whose way is hidden, God has made a hedge about him.

²⁶ When I looked for good, then evil came; and when I waited for light, then darkness came.

⁸ You have taken my friends away from me; You have made me a hateful thing to them; I am shut up, I will not go out.

¹⁹ The way of the wicked is as darkness; they do not know at what they stumble.

¹⁰ Who among you fears Jehovah, obeying the voice of His servant, who walks in darkness, and no light is in him? Let him trust in the name of Jehovah, and lean on his God.

¹⁶ Give glory to Jehovah your God before He brings darkness, and before your feet stumble on the dark mountains. Yea, while you look for light, He puts it into death shade, setting up deep gloom.

¹² So their way shall be to them as slippery places in the darkness; they shall be driven out and fall by it. For I will bring evil on them, the year of their judgment, says Jehovah.

⁷ He walled around me and I cannot go out; He has made heavy my bronze chain .

⁹ He walled up my ways with cut stone; my paths are crooked.

⁶ Therefore, behold, I will hedge your way with thorns, and I will wall up her wall, that she shall not find her paths.

¹² Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, I am the Light of the world. The one following Me will in no way walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life.

¹⁷ He causes wise men to go stripped; and He makes judges fools.

⁷ when I went out to the gate by the city; when I prepared my seat in the street. ⁸ The young men saw me and hid themselves; the aged rose up, stood up; ⁹ the rulers held back with words, and they laid a hand on their mouth; ¹⁰ the leaders' voice was hidden; yea, their tongue clung to the roof of their mouth. ¹¹ For the ear heard, and blessed me; and the eye saw, and witnessed for me. ¹² For I delivered the poor who cried for help and the orphan who had no helper to him. ¹³ The blessing of the perishing came on me; and I made the widow's heart to sing. ¹⁴ I put on righteousness and it clothed me; my judgment was like a robe and a diadem.

²⁰ My glory was fresh with me, and my bow was renewed in my hand. ²¹ They listened to me and waited, and kept silence for my counsel.

¹ But now the younger ones laugh at me; those whose fathers I would have refused to set with the dogs of my flock.

¹⁶ Do not be afraid when one becomes rich, when the glory of his house increases; ¹⁷ for when he dies, he shall take nothing; his glory shall not go down after him.

³⁹ You have turned away from the covenant of your servant; You have defiled his crown on the ground.

⁴⁴ You have made his glory to cease and have hurled his throne to the ground.

⁶ But you shall be called, Priests of Jehovah; it will be said of you, Ministers of our God. You shall eat the riches of the nations, and you shall revel in their glory.

¹⁶ The crown has fallen from our head. Woe now to us, for we have sinned!

¹¹ Ephraim is like a bird; their glory shall fly away, from birth, and from the womb, and from conception.

¹³ And a day came when his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in their brother's house, the first-born. ¹⁴ And a messenger came to Job and said, The oxen were plowing, and the asses were feeding beside them. ¹⁵ And the Sabeans fell on, and took them away. And they killed the young men with the edge of the sword; and I, I alone have escaped to tell you. ¹⁶ While this one was still speaking, this other also came and said, The fire of God has fallen from the heavens and has burned up the sheep and the young men. And it has destroyed them; and I, I alone have escaped to tell you. ¹⁷ While this one was still speaking, this other also came and said, The Chaldeans made out three bands and swooped down on the camels. And they have taken them away. And they have killed the young men with the edge of the sword; and I, I alone have escaped to tell you. ¹⁸ While this one was still speaking, this other came and said, Your sons and your daughters were eating and drinking wine in the house of their brother, the first-born, ¹⁹ And, behold! A great wind came from the wilderness and touched the four corners of the house. And it fell on the young men and they died; and I, I alone have escaped to tell you.

⁷ And Satan went out from before the face of Jehovah. And he struck Job with bad burning ulcers from the sole of his foot to the top of his head.

¹¹ What is my strength that I should wait? And what is my end that I should prolong my life?

⁶ My days are swifter than a weaver's shuttle, and are ended without hope.

¹³ So are the paths of all those forgetting God; and the hope of the ungodly shall perish; ¹⁴ whose hope is cut off, and his trust as a spider's house. ¹⁵ He shall lean on his house, but it shall not stand; he shall hold fast to it, but it shall not endure. ¹⁶ He is moist before the sun, and his branches shoot forth on his garden. ¹⁷ His roots are wrapped around a heap; he sees a house of stones. ¹⁸ If one destroys him from his place, then it shall deny him, saying I have not seen you!

¹⁴ Behold, He breaks down, and no one builds; He shuts against a man, and no one opens.

¹¹ My days have passed; my plans are broken off, the desires of my heart.

¹⁵ And where then is my hope? And as for my hope, who shall see it?

²⁰ The womb shall forget him; the worm shall suck on him; he shall be remembered no more; and injustice shall be broken like a tree.

³⁵ I have seen the wicked ruthless, even spreading himself out like a luxuriant, native tree; ³⁶ yet he passed away, and, lo, he was not; and I looked for him, but he could not be found.

¹³ But to You I have cried, O Jehovah; and in the morning my prayer shall go before You. ¹⁴ O Jehovah, why do You cast off my soul; why do You hide Your face from me? ¹⁵ I am afflicted and dying from childhood; I suffer Your terrors; I am distracted. ¹⁶ Your fierce wrath goes over me; Your terrors have cut me off. ¹⁷ They surrounded me like waters all the day long; they have come together around me. ¹⁸ You have taken lover and friend far from me, he who knows me, into darkness.

¹¹ My days are like a shadow stretched out, and I wither like grass.

⁵ The Lord was like an enemy; He swallowed up Israel; He swallowed up all his palaces and destroyed his strongholds; and He increased mourning and weeping in the daughter of Judah. ⁶ And He violated his booth like a garden and destroyed his meeting-places. Jehovah made meeting-places and sabbaths forgotten in Zion, and He rejected king and priest in the fury of His anger.

⁸ in every way being troubled, but not having been hemmed in; having been perplexed, but not utterly at a loss; ⁹ being persecuted, but not having been forsaken; being thrown down, but not having been destroyed;

²² For a fire has been kindled in My anger, and it burns to the lowest Sheol, and consumes the earth and its produce; and sets on fire the foundations of the mountains.

²⁴ Why do You hide Your face and count me for Your enemy?

⁹ His anger has torn, and hated me; He gnashes at me with His teeth; my enemy sharpens His eyes at me.

¹⁰ behold, He finds alienation on me; He considers me His enemy;

⁴⁶ O Jehovah, until when will You hide Yourself? Shall Your wrath burn like fire forever?

⁷ For we are consumed by Your anger, and we are troubled by Your wrath.

⁵ The Lord was like an enemy; He swallowed up Israel; He swallowed up all his palaces and destroyed his strongholds; and He increased mourning and weeping in the daughter of Judah.

¹¹ God has delivered me to the perverse; and He has turned me over into the hands of the wicked.

¹³ His archers surround me; He splits my inward parts and has no pity; He pours out my gall on the ground

¹² On my right hand a brood rises; they push away my feet and raise their destructive ways against me.

⁵ Woe to Assyria, the rod of My anger! And My fury is the staff in their hand. ⁶ I will send him against an ungodly nation, and against the people of My wrath. I will command him to plunder, and to strip off spoil, and to trample them like the mud of the streets.

²³ But I will put it into the hand of those oppressing you, who have said to your soul, Bow down that we may cross, and Put your back as the ground, and as the street to those who cross.

²¹ Surely now you have become like it; you see my dismay, and are afraid. ²² Did I indeed say, Give to me? Or, offer a bribe for me from your wealth? ²³ Or, Deliver me from a foe's hand? Or, Redeem me from the oppressors hand?

⁷ But now He has made me weary. You have made all my company desolate.

¹¹ I was a reproach among all my foes, but especially to my neighbors; and a fear to my friends, those who saw me outside fled from me.

¹¹ My lovers and my friends stand apart from my stroke, and my neighbors have stood far off.

²⁰ Reproach has broken my heart, and I am faint; and I waited for one to show pity, but there was no one; and for comforters, but I found none.

¹⁸ You have taken lover and friend far from me, he who knows me, into darkness.

⁵⁶ But all this is happening that the Scriptures of the prophets may be fulfilled. Then all the disciples ran away, forsaking Him.

¹⁶ In my first defense no one was beside me, but all deserted me. May it not be reckoned to them.

²³ And the counsel of Ahithophel which he counseled in those days was as one who had inquired at the word of God. So was all the counsel of Ahithophel, both to David and to Absalom.

¹² For it is not an enemy reproaching me, or I could bear it; it is not one who hates me who is magnifying himself against me; or I would hide myself from him. ¹³ But it is you, a man of my rank, my friend and my associate. ¹⁴ We sweetened counsel together; we marched into the house of God with the throng.

²⁴ A man of friends may be broken up, but there is a Lover who sticks closer than a brother.

¹⁰ For I heard the slanders of many, Terror is all around! Expose! Yea, let us expose him! Every man of my peace watched for my fall, saying, Perhaps he will be lured away, and we shall prevail against him; and we shall take revenge on him.

⁵ Put no faith in a companion; put no trust in a friend; keep the door of your mouth from her who lies in your bosom; ⁶ for a son despises his father; a daughter rises up against her mother; the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; a man's enemies are the men of his house.

²¹ But brother will betray brother to death, and the father his child. And children will rise up against parents and will put them to death.

¹⁸ I do not speak concerning all of you; I know whom I chose out; but that the Scripture might be fulfilled, "The one eating the bread with Me lifted up his heel against Me." Psa. 41:9

³¹ if the men of my tent did not say, Who can find one not being satisfied from his meat, ³² the stranger did not sleep in the street, for I opened my doors to the traveler;

³ Be gracious to us, O Jehovah; be gracious to us! For we are exceedingly filled with scorn.

¹⁵ And the Sabeans fell on, and took them away. And they killed the young men with the edge of the sword; and I, I alone have escaped to tell you. ¹⁶ While this one was still speaking, this other also came and said, The fire of God has fallen from the heavens and has burned up the sheep and the young men. And it has destroyed them; and I, I alone have escaped to tell you. ¹⁷ While this one was still speaking, this other also came and said, The Chaldeans made out three bands and swooped down on the camels. And they have taken them away. And they have killed the young men with the edge of the sword; and I, I alone have escaped to tell you.

¹⁹ And, behold! A great wind came from the wilderness and touched the four corners of the house. And it fell on the young men and they died; and I, I alone have escaped to tell you.

⁹ And his wife said to him, Are you still holding fast to your integrity? Curse God and die! ¹⁰ But he said to her, You speak as one of the foolish ones speak. Also, shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this Job did not sin with his lips.

¹ My spirit is broken; my days are extinct; graves are for me.

²³ And he went up from there to Bethel. And he was going up in the highway. And little boys came out from the city and mocked him, and said to him, Go up, bald head! Go up, bald head!

⁵ And the people shall be crushed, man against man, and a man on his neighbor. The boy will be insolent against the elder, and the despised against the honorable.

¹⁴ To the faint, mercy is due from his friend; for he forsakes the fear of the Almighty. ¹⁵ My brothers have dealt deceitfully, like the torrent; like the streams of torrents, they vanish;

⁹ Even a man desiring my welfare, I trusted in him, eating of my bread; this one has lifted up his heel against me.

²⁰ He sent out his hand against those who wish him well; he polluted his covenant.

⁴ In return for my love, they are my enemies; but I am in prayer. ⁵ And they put on me evil for good; and hatred for my love.

⁴⁸ And Jesus said to him, Judas, do you betray the Son of man with a kiss?

⁴ And Satan answered Jehovah and said, Skin for skin. Yea, all that a man has he will give for his life. ⁵ But indeed put out Your hand now and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse You to Your face. ⁶ And Jehovah said to Satan, Behold, He is in your hand; but preserve his life.

⁵ My flesh is clothed with worms and clods of dust; my skin is broken, and it runs afresh .

³⁰ My skin is blackened on me, and my bones are burned with heat.

¹⁹ He is also chastened with pain on his bed, and enduring strife in his bones; ²⁰ so that his life loathes bread, and his soul desirable food. ²¹ His flesh wastes away from his sight; and his hones laid bare, they were not seen. ²² Yea, his soul draws near to the Pit, and his life to the dealers of death.

¹⁴ I am poured out like waters, and all My bones are spread apart; My heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of My bowels. ¹⁵ My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and My tongue clings to My jaws; ¹⁶ and You appoint Me to the dust of death; for dogs have encircled Me; band of spoilers have hemmed Me in, piercers of My hands and My feet. ¹⁷ I count all My bones; they look, they stare at Me.

³ When I kept silence, then my bones became old, through my howling all day. ⁴ For by day and by night Your hand was heavy on me; my sap was turned into the droughts of summer. Selah.

³ There is no soundness in my flesh because of Your anger; nor peace in my bones because of my sin.

³ For my days are finished in smoke, and my bones glow like a firebrand.

⁵ Because of the voice of my sighing, my bones cleave to my flesh.

⁴ He has wasted my flesh and my skin. He has shattered my bones.

⁸ Their appearance is darker than soot; they are not recognized in the streets. Their skin has shriveled on their bones; it is dried up, it has become like wood.

¹⁰ Our skin is burned black like an oven, because of the fever heat of famine.

¹¹ But put out Your hand now, and touch against all that is his, and see if he will not then curse You to Your face.

⁵ But indeed put out Your hand now and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse You to Your face.

⁴ For the arrows of the Almighty are within me; their fury is drinking my spirit; the terrors of God are set against me.

² For Your arrows sink in me, and Your hand presses heavily on me.

¹⁵ Rejoice with rejoicing ones, and weep with weeping ones;

²⁶ And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it . If one member is glorified, all the members rejoice with it .

³ Be mindful of the prisoners, as having been bound with them; of those ill-treated, as also being in the body yourselves.

¹⁶ And if it rise, You would hunt me as a lion; and again You show Yourself wonderful in me.

²⁵ Will You terrify a leaf driven to and fro? Will you pursue the dry stubble?

³¹ if the men of my tent did not say, Who can find one not being satisfied from his meat,

²⁶ For whom You have stricken, they have persecuted; and they gossip to the pain of those You pierced.

³ who also eat the flesh of My people, and cause their skin to come off from them; yea, they break their bones and shatter, like that in the pot, and as flesh in the midst of the kettle.

³⁵ Oh that I had one to hear me! See, my mark! Let the Almighty answer me, and let my Accuser write an indictment.

¹ And Jehovah said to me, Take a big tablet and write in it with a man's pen: Make haste to plunder! Hasten to the prey!

⁸ Now come, write it before them on a tablet, and note it on a book, so that it may be for the latter day, until forever;

¹¹ You shall engrave the two stones, the work of an stone engraver, the engravings of a signet, according to the names of the sons of Israel; you shall make them set in plaited work of gold. ¹² And you shall put the two stones on the shoulderpieces of the ephod, stones of remembrance for the sons of Israel. And Aaron shall bear their names before the face of Jehovah, on his two shoulders for a remembrance.

²¹ And the stones shall be according to the names of the sons of Israel, twelve according to their names, the engraving of a signet; they shall be each according to his name for the twelve tribes.

¹⁶ And the tablets were the work of God, and the writing was the writing of God; it was engraved on the tablets.

² and it shall be in the day you cross over the Jordan to the land which Jehovah your God is giving to you, that you shall raise up for yourself great stones, and plaster them with plaster. ³ And you shall write on them all the words of this law when you have crossed over, so that you may go into the land which Jehovah your God is giving you a land flowing with milk and honey, as Jehovah the God of your fathers has promised you.

⁸ And you shall write on the stones all the words of the law very plainly.

¹ The sin of Judah is engraved with an iron pen. It is carved on the tablet of their heart with the point of a diamond, and on the horns of your altars,

¹⁵ And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; He will bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.

¹⁸ And in your Seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed because you have obeyed My voice.

¹⁹ Even now, behold! My witness is in Heaven; and He who testifies of me is on high.

²³ If there is a messenger for him, a mediator, one among a thousand, to declare for man his uprightness, ²⁴ then let Him be gracious to him and say, Deliver him from going down to the Pit, for I have found a ransom!

¹⁴ Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing before You, O Jehovah, my Rock and my Redeemer.

³⁵ So they remembered that God was their Rock, and the Most High God their Redeemer.

¹¹ for their Redeemer is mighty, He will contend for their cause with you.

¹⁴ So says Jehovah, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: For your sake I have sent to Babylon, and have brought down as fugitives all of them, even the Chaldeans, whose shout is in the ships.

⁵ For your Maker is your husband; Jehovah of Hosts is His name; and your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel; He is called the God of all the earth.

²⁰ And the Redeemer comes to Zion, and to those in Jacob who turn from transgression, declares Jehovah. ²¹ As for Me, this is My covenant with them, says Jehovah: My Spirit who is on you, and My words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart out of your mouth, or out of the mouth of your seed, or out of the mouth of your seed's seed, from now on and forever, says Jehovah.

³⁴ Their Redeemer is strong, Jehovah of Hosts is His name. He shall surely plead their cause, so that He may give rest to the land, and make to tremble the dwellers of Babylon.

²² For the Father judges no one, but has given all judgment to the Son, ²³ so that all may honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. The one not honoring the Son does not honor the Father who has sent Him. ²⁴ Truly, truly, I say to you, the one who hears My word, and believes the One who has sent Me, has everlasting life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life. ²⁵ Truly, truly, I say to you that an hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and the ones hearing will live. ²⁶ For even as the Father has life in Himself, so He gave also to the Son to have life in Himself. ²⁷ And He also gave authority to Him to execute judgment, for He is the Son of man. ²⁸ Do not marvel at this, for an hour is coming in which all those in the tombs will hear His voice. ²⁹ And they will come out, the ones having done good into a resurrection of life; and the ones having practiced evil into a resurrection of judgment.

⁷ in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace

¹⁴ And "the seventh from Adam," Enoch, also prophesied to these men, saying, Behold, "the Lord came with" myriads "of His saints,"

⁹ So my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; my flesh shall also rest in hope;

¹¹ You will make Me know the way of life. In Your presence is fullness of joys; at Your right hand are pleasures forever.

¹⁵ As for me, in righteousness I will look upon Your face; when I awaken, I shall be satisfied by Your image.

⁸ Blessed are the pure in heart! For they shall see God.

¹² For now we see through a mirror in dimness, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will fully know even as I also was fully known.

⁵³ For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

²¹ who will transform our body of humiliation, for it to be conformed to His body of glory, according to the working of His power, even to put all things under Himself.

² Beloved, now we are the children of God, and it was not yet revealed what we shall be. But we know that if He is revealed, we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him as He is.

⁷ "Behold, He comes with the clouds," and "every eye will see Him, and the ones who pierced" Him, and all the tribes of the earth "will wail on account of Him." Yes, Amen. Dan. 7:13; Zech. 12:10

¹⁷ I shall see him, but not now; I shall behold him, but not near. A star shall come forth out of Jacob, and a scepter shall rise out of Israel and shall dash the corners of Moab, and break down all the sons of tumult.

²⁶ My flesh and my heart waste away; God is the rock of my heart and my portion forever.

¹⁹ Your dead ones shall live, my dead body, they shall rise up. Awake and sing, dust dwellers; for the dew of lights is your dew; and the earth shall cast out departed spirits.

¹³ And all Israel shall mourn for him, and bury him, for only this one of Jeroboam shall come to the grave because there has been found in him a good thing toward Jehovah, God of Israel, in the house of Jeroboam.

²² Why do you pursue me, as God does, and are not satisfied with my flesh?

⁷ Would you speak unrighteously for God and speak deceitfully for Him? ⁸ Will you lift up His face, or will you contend for God? ⁹ Or as one man mocks another, do you mock Him? Is it good that He should search you out? ¹⁰ He will surely reprove you if you secretly lift up faces. ¹¹ Shall not His highness make you afraid, and His dread fall on you?

²² He does not believe in a return from darkness, but he is awaited by the sword.

⁴ Will He reprove you because of your reverence, or enter into judgment with you?

⁵ On account of this the wicked shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

⁷ But Jehovah is seated forever; He has established His throne for judgment.

¹⁰ The righteous shall rejoice when he sees vengeance; he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked. ¹¹ And man will say, Truly, a fruit is to the righteous; truly, there is a God judging in the earth.

⁹ Rejoice, O young man, in your youth. And make your heart glad in the days of your youth, and walk in the ways of your heart, and in the sight of your eyes; but know that for all these things God will bring you into judgment.

¹⁴ For God shall bring every work into judgment, with all that is hidden, whether it is good, or whether it is evil.

¹ Do not judge, that you may not be judged; ² for with whatever judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with whatever measure you measure, it will be measured again to you.

¹ Let every soul be subject to higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, but the existing authorities have been ordained by God. ² So that the one resisting authority has opposed the ordinance of God, and the ones opposing will receive judgment to themselves. ³ For the rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the bad. And do you desire not to fear the authority? Do the good, and you will have praise from it; ⁴ for it is a servant of God to you for the good. But if you practice evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is a servant of God, an avenger for wrath to the one practicing evil.

¹¹ Do not speak against one another, brothers. He that speaks against a brother, and is judging a brother, he speaks against law, and judges law. But if you judge law, you are not a doer of law, but a judge. ¹² One is the Lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. Who are you who judges another?
