¹ And it happened, in the days of Ahasuerus (he is Ahasuerus who reigned from India even to Ethiopia, over a hundred and twenty seven provinces) ² in those days when king Ahasuerus sat on the throne of his kingdom in Shushan the palace, ³ in the third year of his reign, he made a banquet for all his princes and his servants. The power of Persia and Media, the nobles and the princes of the provinces, were before him, ⁴ when he made known the riches of his glorious kingdom, and the honor of his excellent greatness many days, even a hundred and eighty days. ⁵ And when these days were fulfilled, the king made a banquet for all the peoples who were found in Shushan the palace, both to great and to small, for seven days in the court of the garden of the king's palace. ⁶ There was overlaying with white linen and violet, with cords of fine linen and purple to silver rings and pillars of white marble. The couches were of gold and silver, on a red and white and pearl and black marble pavement. ⁷ And they gave out drink in vessels of gold, the vessels differing from one another, and royal wine in abundance, according to the hand of the king. ⁸ And the drinking was according to the law, no one compelling; for so the king had ordered every first one of his house that they should do according to every man's pleasure. ⁹ Also Vashti the queen made a banquet for the women in the royal house which king Ahasuerus owned . ¹⁰ In the seventh day, when the heart of the king was merry with wine, he said to Mehuman, Biztha, Harbona, Bigtha, and Abagtha, Zethar, and Carcas, the seven eunuchs who served before the face of Ahasuerus the king, ¹¹ to bring Vashti the queen before the king with the royal crown, in order to make known to the people and the princes her beauty. For she was beautiful to look upon. ¹² But Vashti the queen refused to come at the king's command by his eunuchs. And the king was very angry, and his fury burned within him. ¹³ And the king said to the wise men who knew the times (for so was the king's manner toward all who knew law and judgment; ¹⁴ and the ones next to him were Carshena, Shethar, Admatha, Tarshish, Meres, Marsena, and Memucan, the seven princes of Persia and Media who saw the king's face, who sat first in the kingdom) ¹⁵ What shall be done with queen Vashti according to law, because she has not done the command of king Ahasuerus by the eunuchs? ¹⁶ And Memucan answered before the king and princes, Vashti the queen has not only done wrong to the king, but also to all the princes, and to all the people who are in all the provinces of Ahasuerus the king. ¹⁷ For the matter of the queen shall go out to all women, to make their husbands despised in their eyes, in their reporting that king Ahasuerus said to bring in Vashti the queen before him, but she did not come. ¹⁸ And this day the princesses of Persia and Media who have heard the queen's word shall say the same to all the king's princes and there shall be contempt and strife. ¹⁹ If it please the king, let there be a royal decree from him, and let it be written among the laws of Persia and Media so that it shall not pass away, that Vashti come no more before king Ahasuerus. And let the king give her royal estate to a neighbor who is better than she is. ²⁰ And when the king's decree which he shall make shall be throughout all his empire, for it is great, all the wives shall give their husbands honor, both the small and the great. ²¹ And the saying pleased the king, and the princes. And the king did according to the word of Memucan. ²² And he sent letters into all the king's provinces, into every province according to its writing, and to peoples and peoples, according to language, so that every man should be ruling in his house; and speaking according to the language of his people.

⁶ And in the reign of Ahasuerus, in the beginning of his reign, they wrote an accusation against the people of Judah and Jerusalem.

⁹ And the king's scribes were called at that time, in the third month, that is, the month Sivan, on the twenty third of it. And it was written according to all that Mordecai commanded to the Jews, and to the satraps, and the governors, and the princes of the provinces which were from India to Ethiopia, a hundred and twenty seven provinces, to every province according to its writing, and to every people in their language, and to the Jews; according to their writing and according to their language.

³⁰ And he sent the letters to all the Jews, to the hundred and twenty seven provinces of the kingdom of Ahasuerus words of peace and truth,

¹ Woe to the land of whirring of wings, which is beyond the rivers of Ethiopia;

⁹ And he heard about Tirhakah the king of Ethiopia, saying, He has come out to fight with you. And he heard and sent messengers to Hezekiah, saying,

¹ It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom a hundred and twenty satraps, that they might be over the kingdom.

¹ In the first year of Darius, the son of Ahasuerus, of the seed of the Medes, who was made king over the realm of the Chaldeans,

¹ And it happened, when the king lived in his house, and Jehovah had given him rest from all his enemies all around,

⁴⁶ And also Solomon has sat on the throne of the kingdom.

¹ The words of Nehemiah the son of Hachaliah. And it happened in the month Chisleu, in the twentieth year, as I was in Shushan the palace,

³ And let the king choose officers in all the provinces of his kingdom, so that they may gather together every beautiful young virgin to Shushan the palace, to the house of the women, to the hand of Hegai the king's eunuch, keeper of the women, to give their purifications.

¹⁵ The runners went out, being burned by the king's word. And the decree was given in Shushan the palace. And the king and Haman sat down to drink. But the city, Shushan. was perplexed.

¹⁶ Go, gather all the Jews being found in Shushan, and fast for me. And do not eat or drink three days, night or day. My maidens and I will also fast in this way. And so I will go in to the king, which is not according to the law. And if I have perished, I have perished.

¹² And the king said to Esther the queen, The Jews have killed and destroyed five hundred men in Shushan the palace, and the ten sons of Haman. What have they done in the rest of the provinces of the king? And what is your petition, and it is given to you? And what further request, and it will be done? ¹³ And Esther said, If it pleases the king, let it be given to the Jews in Shushan to do tomorrow also according to this day's decree; and let Haman's ten sons be hanged on the wooden gallows . ¹⁴ And the king commanded it to be done so. And the order was given at Shushan, and they hanged Haman's ten sons. ¹⁵ And the Jews in Shushan also assembled on the fourteenth day of the month Adar and killed three hundred men at Shushan; but they did not lay their hands on the spoil.

⁴ I, Nebuchadnezzar, was at ease in my house, and flourishing in my palace.

² And I looked in the vision, and it happened when I looked that I was at Shushan the palace, which is in the province of Elam. And in a vision I looked, and I was by the Ulai Canal.

²⁰ And it happened, on the third day, the day of Pharaoh's birth, he made a feast for all his servants. And he lifted up the head of the chief of the cupbearers and the head of the chief of the bakers in the midst of his servants.

¹⁵ And Solomon awoke, and behold, it was a dream! And he came into Jerusalem and stood before the ark of the covenant of Jehovah, and offered burnt offerings, and made peace offerings. And he made a banquet for all his servants.

² So says Cyrus king of Persia, Jehovah God of Heaven has given me all the kingdoms of the earth. And He has commanded me to build Him a house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah.

¹⁴ and the ones next to him were Carshena, Shethar, Admatha, Tarshish, Meres, Marsena, and Memucan, the seven princes of Persia and Media who saw the king's face, who sat first in the kingdom)

¹⁸ And the king made a great banquet for all his princes and his servants, Esther's banquet. And he ordered a rest for the provinces, and gave gifts, according to the state of the king.

² A harsh vision is revealed to me; the deceiver deals deceitfully, and the plunderer plunders. Go up, O Elam! Besiege, O Media! I have caused all her sighing to cease.

¹¹ Purify the arrows, fill the shields; Jehovah has aroused the spirit of the kings of the Medes. For His plan is against Babylon, to destroy it, because it is the vengeance of Jehovah, the vengeance of His temple.

² Then Nebuchadnezzar the king sent to gather the satraps, the prefects, the governors, the counselors, the treasurers, the judges and the justices. And all the officials of the provinces were ordered to come to the dedication of the image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up. ³ Then were gathered the satraps, the prefects, the governors, the counselors, the treasurers, the judges, the justices, and all the officials of the provinces, to the dedication of the image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up. ¹ Belshazzar the king made a great feast to a thousand of his nobles. And he drank wine before the thousand.

²⁸ HALF MINAS: Your kingdom is divided and given to the Medes and Persians.

⁶ Then these presidents and satraps gathered together to the king and said this to him, King Darius, live forever. ⁷ All the presidents of the kingdom, the prefects, and the satraps, the officials and the governors, have planned together to establish a royal law, and to make a strong ban, that whoever shall ask a petition of any god or man for thirty days, except from you, O king, he shall be thrown into the den of lions.

²⁰ The ram which you saw with two horns are the kings of Media and Persia.

²¹ And a suitable day having come, when Herod made a dinner for his great ones on his birthday, also the chiliarchs, and the first ones of Galilee.

¹¹ To you, O Jehovah, be the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty; for all in the heavens and in the earth belongs to You, O Jehovah; Yours is the kingdom, and You lift up Yourself to all as Head; ¹² and the riches, and the honor come from before You, and You rule over all; and in Your hand is power and might; and it is in Your hand to make great, and to give strength to all.

²⁵ And Jehovah magnified Solomon to a height in the eyes of all Israel, and put the honor of the kingdom on him, such as had not been on any king over Israel before him.

¹⁰ Adorn yourself with majesty now, and with grandeur, and clothe yourself with glory and honor;

⁵ His glory is great in Your salvation; You have laid honor and majesty on him.

³ Gird Your sword on Your thigh, Mighty One; with Your glory and Your majesty.

¹ To the chief musician. For stringed instruments. A Psalm of Asaph. A Song of Praise. God is known in Judah; His name is great in Israel. ² And His abode is in Salem; and His dwelling-place in Zion. ³ There He broke the fiery arrows of the bow, the shield, and the sword, and the battle. Selah. ⁴ You are glorious, more excellent than the mountains of prey.

¹ Jehovah reigns! He is clothed with majesty; Jehovah is clothed with strength; He girded Himself; and the world is established; it shall not be shaken.

⁵ I will muse on the glorious honor of Your majesty, and the things of Your wonderful works.

¹² to make Your might known to the sons of men; yea, the glorious majesty of His kingdom. ¹³ Your kingdom is a kingdom to all eternities; and Your rule in all, generation and generation.

² And Hezekiah was glad because of them and let them see the house of his treasure, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the good oil, and all his weapons, and all that was found in his treasuries; there was nothing in his house or in all his kingdom that Hezekiah did not let them see.

⁵ By your great wisdom, by your trade you have multiplied your riches, and your heart is lifted up because of your riches.

³⁷ You O king are the king of kings. For the God of Heaven has given you the kingdom, the power, and the strength, and the honor. ³⁸ And wherever the sons of men, the animals of the field, and the birds of the sky dwell, He has given them into your hand, and has made you ruler over them all. You are the head of gold. ³⁹ And in your place shall arise another kingdom lower than yours, and another third kingdom of bronze, which shall rule in all the earth. ⁴⁰ And the fourth kingdom shall be as strong as iron. Inasmuch as iron crushes and smashes all things, and as the iron that shatters all these, it will crush and shatter. ⁴¹ And as to that you saw, the feet and the toes were partly of potters' clay and partly of iron, the kingdom shall be divided. But there shall be in it the strength of iron, because you saw the iron mixed with clay of the potter. ⁴² And as the toes of the feet were partly of iron and partly of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong and partly fragile. ⁴³ And as you saw the iron mixed with the clay of the clay, they shall be mixed with the seed of men. But they shall not adhere to one another, even as iron does not mix with clay. ⁴⁴ And in the days of these kings, the God of Heaven shall set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed. And the kingdom shall not be left to other people. It shall break in pieces and destroy all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever.

³⁰ The king spoke and said, is this not great Babylon that I have built for the house of the kingdom, by the might of my power, and for the honor of my majesty?

³⁶ At that time my reason returned to me, and the glory of my kingdom, my majesty, and my brightness returned to me. And my advisers and my nobles sought to me. And I was reestablished in my kingdom, and excellent greatness was added to me.

¹⁸ O king, the Most High God gave your father Nebuchadnezzar a kingdom, and majesty, and glory, and honor.

⁹ I was looking until the thrones were thrown up, and the Ancient of Days sat, whose robe was white as snow and the hair of His head like pure wool. His throne was like flames of fire, its wheels like burning fire. ¹⁰ A stream of fire went out and came out from before Him. A thousand thousands served Him, and a myriad myriads stood before Him. The court was set and the books were opened. ¹¹ Then I was looking because of the voice of the great words which the horn spoke. I was looking until the beast was killed, and his body was destroyed and given to the burning flame. ¹² And the rest of the beasts, their dominion was taken away. Yet length of life was given them for a season and a time. ¹³ I was looking in the night visions. And behold! One like the Son of Man came with the clouds of the heavens. And He came to the Ancient of Days. And they brought Him near before Him. ¹⁴ And dominion was given to Him, and glory, and a kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion which shall not pass away, and His kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.

⁸ Again the Devil takes Him to a very high mountain, and he showed to Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory.

¹³ And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil, for Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory to the ages. Amen.

²³ and that He make known the riches of His glory on vessels of mercy which He before prepared for glory,

¹⁸ the eyes of your mind having been enlightened, for you to know what is the hope of His calling, and what the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,

²⁷ to whom God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the nations, who is Christ in you, the hope of glory;

¹⁶ For not following fables which had been cleverly devised, but having become eyewitnesses of the majesty of Jesus Christ, we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord. ¹⁷ For receiving honor and glory from God the Father such a voice being borne to Him from the magnificent glory, "This is My Son, the Beloved, in whom I was well pleased," Psa. 2:7; Gen. 22:2; Isa. 42:1; Matt. 17:5

¹¹ Lord, You are worthy to receive the glory and the honor and the power, because You created all things, and through Your will they exist and were created.

⁸ And Solomon at that time kept the feast seven days, and all Israel with him, a great company, from the entering in of Hamath to the river of Egypt. ⁹ And they made a solemn assembly on the eighth day, because they kept the dedication of the altar seven days, and the feast seven days.

²¹ And the sons of Israel, those found in Jerusalem, kept the Feast of Unleavened Bread seven days with great joy. And the Levites praised Jehovah day to day, and the priests, with instruments of praise before Jehovah. ²² And Hezekiah spoke to the heart of all the Levites, those having good understanding as to Jehovah. And they ate the appointed things seven days, offering sacrifices of peace offerings, and making confession to Jehovah, the God of their fathers. ²³ And all the congregation took counsel to keep another seven days. And they kept seven days joyfully. ²⁴ And Hezekiah the king of Judah had lifted up to the congregation a thousand bullocks, and seven thousand sheep. And the leaders had lifted up to the congregation a thousand bullocks, and ten thousand sheep. And the priests had sanctified themselves in abundance. ²⁵ And all the congregation of Judah rejoiced, and the priests and the Levites, and all the congregation that came from the land of Israel, and the aliens who came from the land of Israel, and those who lived in Judah.

⁷ And the king, rising from the banquet of wine in his wrath, went into the palace garden. And Haman remained to beg for his life from Esther the queen, for he saw that evil was determined against him by the king. ⁸ And the king returned out of the garden to the place of the banquet of wine. And Haman had fallen on the couch on which Esther lay . And the king said, Will he also ravish the queen with me in the house? The word went from the king's mouth, and they covered Haman's face.

¹ And you shall make the tabernacle with ten curtains. You shall make them with cherubs, the work of a skilled workman, of twined linen, and blue and purple and crimson.

³¹ And you shall make a veil of blue and purple and crimson, and twined linen . One shall make it by the work of the skilled workman, with cherubs. ³² And you shall put it on four pillars of acacia wood overlaid with gold, their hooks gold, on four sockets of silver.

³⁶ And you shall make a screen for the door of the tent of blue, and of purple and crimson, and twined bleached linen, the work of an embroiderer. ³⁷ And you shall make five pillars of acacia wood for the screen. And you shall overlay them with gold, their nails gold. And you shall cast for them five sockets of bronze.

⁸ And the king returned out of the garden to the place of the banquet of wine. And Haman had fallen on the couch on which Esther lay . And the king said, Will he also ravish the queen with me in the house? The word went from the king's mouth, and they covered Haman's face.

¹⁵ And Mordecai went out from before the king in apparel of the kingdom, of blue and white, and with a great crown of gold, and with a garment of fine linen and purple. And the city of Shushan rejoiced and was glad.

⁴¹ And you sat on a glorious bed, and a table was arranged before it, and My incense and My oil you set on it.

⁸ And they will stretch out beside every altar, and on garments taken in pledge. And they will drink wine of those being fined in the house of God.

⁴ who lie on beds of ivory and stretch themselves on their couches; and those eating the lambs from the flock, and bull calves from the midst of the stall;

²¹ And all the drinking vessels of king Solomon were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of refined gold; there was none of silver; it was not counted for anything in the days of Solomon;

²⁰ And all the drinking vessels of king Solomon were gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon of refined gold. Silver was not counted for anything in the days of Solomon.

² When tasting the wine, Belshazzar commanded the golden and silver vessels brought, those his father Nebuchadnezzar had taken out of the temple in Jerusalem, that the king and his nobles, his wives, and his concubines might drink with them. ³ Then they brought the golden vessels that were taken out of the temple of the house of God in Jerusalem. And the king, his nobles, his wives, and his concubines drank with them. ⁴ They drank wine and praised the gods of gold, and of silver, and of bronze, of iron, wood, and stone.

⁸ And we have obeyed the voice of Jonadab, the son of Rechab our father, to all that he commanded us, to drink no wine all our days, we, our wives, our sons, and our daughters,

⁷ Babylon was a golden cup in the hand of Jehovah, making all the earth drunk. The nations have drunk of her wine, therefore the nations rage.

¹⁵ Woe to him who causes his friend to drink, pouring out your wineskin, and also making him drunk, so as to look upon their nakedness! ¹⁶ You are filled with shame instead of glory; you drink also, and will be seen as uncircumcised. The cup of the right hand of Jehovah shall turn on you, and disgrace shall be your glory.

⁸ And He said to them, Now draw out and carry to the master of the feast. And they carried it.

⁴ And Esther answered, If it seems good to the king, let the king and Haman come today to the banquet which I have prepared for him.

⁸ if I have found favor in the eyes of the king, and if it pleases the king to grant my petition and to perform my request, let the king and Haman come to the banquet which I shall prepare for them, and I will do tomorrow according to the word of the king.

³⁴ And one carried portions from before him to them, and Benjamin's portion was greater than the portions of all of them, five hands. And they drank and were drunken with him.

²⁵ And it happened when their heart felt good, they said, Call for Samson, and he shall entertain us. And they called for Samson from the prison house. And he entertained them. And they made him stand between the pillars.

³⁶ And Abigail came to Nabal. And, behold, he was at a feast in his house, like the feast of the king. And Nabal's heart felt good within him, and he was drunk to excess. And she did not tell him a word, more or less, until the light of the morning. ³⁷ And it happened in the morning, when the wine had gone out of Nabal, his wife told him these things. And his heart died within him, and he became like a stone.

²⁸ And Absalom commanded his young men, saying, Now watch when Amnon's heart is glad with wine, and when I say to you, Strike Amnon, you shall kill him. Do not fear. Did not I command you? Be strong, and be valiant.

⁹ And Harbonah, one of the eunuchs, said before the king, Also, look! The wooden gallows which Haman made for Mordecai, who had spoken good toward the king, is standing at Haman's house. And the king said, Hang him on it!

¹ Wine is a mocker, strong drink is stirring, and each one straying by it is not wise.

² It is better to go to the house of mourning than to go to the house of feasting; for it is the end of every man; and the living will lay it to his heart. ³ Vexation is better than laughter; for by the sadness of the face the heart is made good. ⁴ The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning; but the heart of the stupid one is in the house of mirth.

¹⁹ Bread is made for laughter, and wine gladdens life; but silver answers all things .

³ And the king spoke to Ashpenaz, the chief of his eunuchs that he should bring some of the sons of Israel, and of the king's seed, and of the nobles, ⁴ young men in whom was no blemish, but who were of good appearance and having understanding in all wisdom, having knowledge and understanding learning, even those with strength in them to stand in the king's palace, and to teach them the writing and the language of the Chaldeans. ⁵ And the king set to them the portion of a day in its day, from the king's food, and the wine of his drinking, even to rear them three years, so that at their end they may stand before the king.

¹⁸ And at the end of the days that the king had said to bring them in, the chief of the eunuchs brought them in before Nebuchadnezzar. ¹⁹ And the king talked with them. And among them all was found none like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah. So they stood before the king.

¹⁸ And "do not be drunk with wine," in which is debauchery, but be filled by the Spirit, Prov. 23:31 ¹⁹ speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and praising in your heart to the Lord,

³ And the man's name was Nabal, and his wife's name, Abigail. And the woman was of good understanding, and beautiful of form. And the man was cruel and evil in his dealings. And He was of Caleb.

²⁵ And no man was handsome like Absalom in all Israel, to be so greatly praised. From the sole of his foot to his crown, there was not a blemish in him.

¹⁷ And the king loved Esther above all the women, and she rose in grace and favor in his sight more than all the virgins. And he set the royal crown on her head, and made her to rule instead of Vashti.

⁸ let the royal clothing be brought, which the king puts on himself, and the horse on which the king rides, and the royal crown which is set on his head;

⁹ A man's heart plans his way, but Jehovah fixes his step.

²⁹ Who has woe, who sorrow? Who has contentions, who has babbling? Who has wounds without cause? Who has dullness of eyes? ³⁰ those who stay long at the wine, those who go to seek mixed wine. ³¹ Do not look at the wine when it is red, when it gives its color in the cup, when it goes down smoothly, ³² at its last it bites like a snake, and it stings like a basilisk. ³³ Your eyes shall look on strange women, and your heart shall speak perverse things;

³⁰ Favor is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears Jehovah, she shall be praised.

²¹ And a suitable day having come, when Herod made a dinner for his great ones on his birthday, also the chiliarchs, and the first ones of Galilee. ²² And the daughter of Herodias herself entering, and dancing, she also pleased Herod and those reclining with him . The king said to the girl, Ask me whatever you wish, and I will give it to you.

¹⁶ He said to the woman, I will greatly increase your sorrow and your conception; you shall bear sons in sorrow, and your desire shall be toward your husband; and he shall rule over you.

¹⁹ And it happened, as he came near to the camp and saw the calf and dances, the anger of Moses glowed. And he threw the tablets from his hands, and he broke them below the mountain.

²² And Aaron said, Let not anger of my lord glow. You know the people, that it is in evil.

²⁰ Jehovah will not be willing to forgive him, for then Jehovah's anger and His zeal shall smoke, and His zeal shall be against that man, and all the curses written in this book shall lie upon him. And Jehovah shall blot out his name from under the heavens.

¹ A Lesson, of Asaph. O God, have You cast us off forever; will Your anger smoke against the sheep of Your pasture?

⁵ Until when, O Jehovah? Will You be angry with us forever? Shall Your jealousy burn like fire?

¹² The king's wrath is like a lion's roar, but his favor is like dew on the grass.

² The fear of a king is as the roar of a lion, he who stirs him up to anger wrongs his own soul.

¹² Then the king was enraged and angered. And he commanded all the wise men of Babylon to be destroyed.

¹³ Then Nebuchadnezzar in anger and wrath commanded to bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Then they brought these men before the king.

¹⁹ Then Nebuchadnezzar was filled with wrath, and the form of his face was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. He spoke and commanded to heat the furnace seven times more than it was usual to heat it.

⁶ Who can stand before His fury? And who can rise against the heat of His anger? His wrath is poured out like fire, and the rocks are broken down because of Him.

²² Wives, subject yourselves to your own husbands, as to the Lord,

²⁴ But even as the church is subject to Christ, so also the wives to their own husbands in everything.

¹ Likewise, wives, submitting yourselves to your own husbands, that even if any disobey the word, through the behavior of the wives, without a word they will be won,

¹⁶ And "they said to the mountains" and to the rocks, "Fall on us," and hide us from the face of the One sitting on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb, Hos. 10:8 ¹⁷ because the great day of His wrath has come; and who is able to stand?

³² And of the sons of Issachar, having understanding of the times, to know what Israel should do. Their heads were two hundred, and all their brothers were at their mouth.

⁷ Who would not fear You, O King of nations? For it is fitting to You, because there is none like You among all the wise of the nations, and in all their kingdoms.

² And the king said to call to the horoscopists, and to the conjurers, and to the sorcerers and to the Chaldeans, to tell to the king his dreams. And they came and stood before the king.

²⁷ Daniel replied before the king and said, The secret which the king has demanded cannot be shown to the king by the wise men, the conjurers, the horoscopists, or the fortunetellers.

⁶ So I made a decree to bring in all the wise men of Babylon before me, that they might make known to me the meaning of the dream. ⁷ Then the horoscopists, the conjurers, the Chaldeans, and the fortunetellers came in. And I told the dream before them, but they did not make its meaning known to me.

⁷ The king cried aloud to bring in the conjurers, the Chaldeans, and the star gazers. The king spoke and said to the wise men of Babylon, Any man who can read this writing and reveal its meaning shall be clothed with purple, and have a chain of gold around his neck. And he shall rule third in the kingdom.

¹ And when Jesus had been born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men arrived from the east to Jerusalem,

³ And at morning, Today a storm, for the sky is red, being overcast. Hypocrites! You indeed know how to discern the face of the heaven, but you cannot the signs of the times.

¹⁹ and he took out of the city a certain eunuch who was appointed over the men of war, and five men of those who saw the king's face, found in the city, and the chief scribe of the army who mustered the people of the land, and sixty men of the people of the land found in the city.

¹⁴ since you have been sent by the king, and by his seven counselors to ask about Judah and Jerusalem, according to the law of your God in your hand;

¹⁰ See that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I tell you that their angels in Heaven continually look on the face of My Father in Heaven.

⁴ And they will see His face; and His name will be on their foreheads.

⁶ And Haman came in. And the king said to him, What shall be done to the man whom the king delights to honor? And Haman thought in his heart, To whom would the king delight to do honor more than to myself?

¹⁴ But Paul being about to open his mouth, Gallio said to the Jews, If, indeed, then, it was some wrong or wicked criminality, O Jews, according to reason I would endure you.

¹⁰ But Paul said, I am standing before the tribunal of Caesar where I ought to be judged. I did nothing to the Jews, as also you very well know.

⁷ Indeed, then, there is already a failure with you all, that you have lawsuits with yourselves. Why not instead be wronged? Why not instead be defrauded? ⁸ But you do wrong, and defraud, and these things to brothers!

¹⁶ And it happened, when the ark of Jehovah had come to the city of David, and Michal the daughter of Saul looked through the window and saw king David leaping and dancing before Jehovah, she despised him in her heart.

³³ However, you also, everyone, let each love his wife as himself, and the wife, that she give deference to the husband.

²⁹ The wise ones of her princesses answered her; yea, she returned her words to herself:

³ And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines; and his wives turned away his heart.

²⁸ And Samuel said to him, Jehovah has torn the kingdom of Israel from you today, and has given it to your neighbor who is better than you.

²⁸ And all Israel heard of the judgment that the king had judged, and feared from the face of the king; for they saw that the wisdom of God was in him to do judgment.

²¹ And the saying pleased the king, and the princes. And the king did according to the word of Memucan.

⁹ If it pleases the king, let it be written to destroy them; and I will pay ten thousand talents of silver to the hands of those who do the work, to bring it into the king's treasuries.

⁵ and said, If it pleases the king, and if I have fond favor before him, and the thing is right before the king, and I am pleasing in his eyes, let it be written to bring back the documents (a sly plan by Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite) which he wrote to destroy the Jews who are in all the king's provinces.

⁸ And you write to the Jews according to the good in your eyes, in the king's name, and seal it with the king's ring. For the writing which is written in the king's name, and sealed with the king's ring, there is no taking back.

⁸ Now, O king, establish the ban and sign the document, so that it may not be changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which does not pass away. ⁹ All on account of this, king Darius signed the document and the ban. ¹⁰ And when he had learned that the document was signed, Daniel went to his house. And his windows were open in his roof room toward Jerusalem. He knelt on his knees three times in the day, and prayed and praised before his God, as he did before. ¹¹ Then these men met together and found Daniel praying and seeking mercy before his God. ¹² Then they came near and spoke before the king concerning the king's ban, saying, Have you not signed a ban that every man who shall ask of any god or man within thirty days, except of you, O king, that he shall be thrown into the lions' den? The king answered and said, The thing is certain, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which does not pass away. ¹³ Then they answered and said before the king, Daniel, who is of the exiled sons of Judah, has not set attention on you, O king, or the ban that you have signed, but he makes his prayer three times in the day. ¹⁴ Then the king, when he heard the word, was very displeased with himself, and he set his heart on Daniel, to deliver him. And he labored until the going of the sun to deliver him. ¹⁵ Then these men met before the king and said to the king, O king, know that the law of the Medes and Persians is that every ban or law which the king enacts may not be changed.

¹⁷ And a stone was brought and laid on the mouth of the den. And the king sealed it with his own signet, and with the signet of his nobles, that the affair may not change concerning Daniel.

¹³ And all the people shall hear, and fear, and shall not presume any more.

²¹ And all the men of his city shall stone him with stones, and he shall die. So you shall put away the evil from among you, that all Israel shall hear, and fear.

¹⁸ Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as is becoming in the Lord.

¹ Likewise, wives, submitting yourselves to your own husbands, that even if any disobey the word, through the behavior of the wives, without a word they will be won, ² observing your pure behavior in fear. ³ Of whom let it not be the outward act of braiding of hairs, and of putting gold around, or of clothing of adorning garments, ⁴ but the hidden man of the heart, in the incorruptible adornment of the meek and quiet spirit, which is of great value before God. ⁵ For so once indeed the holy women who were hoping on God adorned themselves, submitting themselves to their own husbands, ⁶ as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord; whose children you became, doing good, and fearing no terror. Gen. 18:12 ⁷ Likewise, husbands, dwelling together according to knowledge, as with a weaker vessel, the female, bestowing honor, as truly being co-heirs of the grace of life, not cutting off your prayers.

³⁷ And the word was good in Pharaoh's eyes, and in the eyes of all his servants.

¹⁹ If it please the king, let there be a royal decree from him, and let it be written among the laws of Persia and Media so that it shall not pass away, that Vashti come no more before king Ahasuerus. And let the king give her royal estate to a neighbor who is better than she is.

⁴ And let the young woman who pleases the king rule instead of Vashti. And the thing pleased the king, and he did so.

¹² Then the king's scribes were called on the thirteenth day of the first month, and it was written according to all that Haman had commanded to the king's satraps, and to the governors who were over every province, and to the rulers of every people of every province. according to its writing, and to every people according to their language. It was written in the name of king Ahasuerus, and sealed with the king's ring.

²⁹ {cf9 : And a decree is given by me, that every people, nation, and language who speak anything amiss about the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, he will be made into mere members and his house shall be made an outhouse. Because there is no other God who is able to deliver like this.}

¹ Nebuchadnezzar the king to all the peoples, the nations, and the tongues that dwell in all the earth: Your peace be multiplied.

⁸ And the lord praised the unrighteous steward, because he acted prudently. For the sons of this age are more prudent than the sons of light themselves are in their generation.

⁵ And Jews were living in Jerusalem, devout men from every nation of those under the heaven. ⁶ But this sound occurring, the multitude came together and were confounded, because they each heard them speaking in his own dialect. ⁷ And all were amazed and marveled, saying to one another, Behold, are not all these, those speaking, Galileans? ⁸ And how do we hear each in our own dialect in which we were born, ⁹ Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and those living in Mesopotamia, both Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, ¹⁰ both Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt, and the regions of Libya over against Cyrene, and the temporarily residing Romans, both Jews and proselytes, ¹¹ Cretans and Arabians; in our own languages we hear them speaking the great deeds of God?

¹⁹ But in a church I desire to speak five words with my mind, that I may also instruct others, than myriads of words in a foreign language. ²⁰ Brothers, do not be children in your minds, but in malice be like infants, and in your minds be mature.

²² Wives, subject yourselves to your own husbands, as to the Lord, ²³ because a husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is Head of the church, and He is Savior of the body. ²⁴ But even as the church is subject to Christ, so also the wives to their own husbands in everything.

¹² And I do not allow a woman to teach nor to exercise authority over a man, but to be in silence.

⁴ that they might train the young women to be lovers of husbands, lovers of children, ⁵ discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God may not be blasphemed,
