¹¹ And indeed every priest stands day by day ministering, and often offering the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins.

³⁸ And this is what you shall offer on the altar: two lambs daily, sons of a year, continually. ³⁹ The one lamb you shall offer in the morning, and the second lamb you shall offer between the evenings.

³ And you shall say to them, This is the fire offering which you shall offer to Jehovah, two yearling lambs without blemish, day by day, as a continual burnt offering.

²⁴ In this way you shall prepare daily, seven days, bread for a fire offering, a soothing fragrance to Jehovah. It shall be prepared besides the continual burnt offering and its drink offering.

⁶ besides the burnt offering of the month, and its food offering, and the continual burnt offering, and its food offering, and their drink offerings, according to their ordinance for soothing fragrance, a fire offering to Jehovah.

⁸ I will not reprove you for your sacrifices; yea, your burnt offerings are continually before Me; ⁹ I will take no bull out of your house, nor he-goats out of your folds, ¹⁰ for every beast of the forest is Mine; the cattle on a thousand hills; ¹¹ I know all the birds of the mountains; and all moving in My fields are Mine; ¹² if I were hungry, I would not tell you; for the world is Mine, and the fullness of it. ¹³ Will I eat the flesh of mighty ones, and will I drink the blood of he-goats?

¹¹ What good to Me are your many sacrifices, says Jehovah? I am full of burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fattened cattle, and the blood of bulls; nor do I delight in the blood of lambs and he goats.

⁴ It is the holy portion of the land for the priests, it shall be for the ministers of the sanctuary who come near to minister to Jehovah. And it shall be for them a place for their houses, and a holy place for the sanctuary.

¹¹ Yea, he magnified himself even to the leader of the host. And the regular sacrifice was taken away by him, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down.

²¹ And while I was setting my prayer in order, then the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, touched me in my severe exhaustion about the time of the evening sacrifice.

²⁷ And he shall confirm a covenant with the many for one week. And in the middle of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the offering to cease. And on a wing of the altar will be abominations that desolate, even until the end. And that which was decreed shall pour out on the desolator.

³¹ And forces will stand away from him, and they will profane the sanctuary, the fortress. And they shall remove the regular sacrifice, and they will place the abomination that desolates.

¹¹ And from the time the regular sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that desolates set up, a thousand, two hundred and ninety days shall occur .

⁹ according to the custom of the priests, entering into the Holy Place of the Lord, it was Zacharias' lot to burn incense. ¹⁰ And all the multitude of the people was praying outside at the hour of incense.

¹ For every high priest being taken from men is appointed on behalf of men in the things respecting God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins;

²⁷ who has no need, as do the high priests, to offer sacrifices day by day, first for His own sins, then for those of the people. For He did this once for all, offering up Himself.

¹ For the Law had a shadow of the coming good things, not the image itself of those things. Appearing year by year with the same sacrifices, which they offer continually, they never are able to perfect the ones drawing near.

⁴ for it is not possible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.
