¹⁷ that blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your seed as the stars of the heavens, and as the sand which is on the shore of the sea. And your Seed shall possess the gate of His enemies.

² And I will make of you a great nation. And I will bless you and make your name great; and you will be a blessing.

¹⁶ And I will make your seed as the dust of the earth, so that if a man can count the dust of the earth, then your seed also will be counted.

⁵ And He brought him outside and said, Look now at the heavens and count the stars, if you are able to count them. And He said to him, So shall your seed be.

⁶ And I will make you very fruitful, exceedingly. And I will give you for nations. And kings shall come out of you.

⁶⁰ And they blessed Rebekah, and said to her, Our sister, may you become myriads of thousands, and may your seed possess the gate of their haters.

⁴ And I will increase your seed like the stars of the heavens, and I will give to your seed all these lands. And all the nations of the earth shall bless themselves in your seed,

²⁸ And may God give you of the dew of the heavens, and of the fatness of the earth, and much grain and wine. ²⁹ May the nations serve you and peoples bow to you; be a ruler to your brothers, and may your mother's sons bow to you, and cursed be those who curse you, and blessed be those who bless you.

³ And may God Almighty bless you and make you fruitful, and add to you; and may you become an assembly of nations.

¹⁴ And your seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and you shall spread to the west and to the east and to the north and to the south; and all the families of the earth shall be blessed in you and in your seed. ¹⁵ And, behold, I will be with you and will guard you in every place in which you may go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not forsake you until I have surely done that which I have spoken to you. ¹⁶ And Jacob awakened from his sleep, and said, Surely Jehovah is in this place, and I did not know. ¹⁷ And he was afraid, and said, How fearful is this place! This is nothing except the house of God, and this is the door to Heaven. ¹⁸ And Jacob started up early in the morning and took the stone which he had placed at his head, and he placed it as a pillar; and he poured oil on the top of it. ¹⁹ And he called the name of that place, The House of God. And yet the name of the city was at first Luz. ²⁰ And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God is with me and keeps me in this way which I am going, and gives to me bread to eat and clothing to wear, ²¹ and I return in peace to the house of my father, then Jehovah shall be my God, ²² and this stone which I have placed as a memorial pillar shall become the house of God; and all which You shall give to me, I will tithe the tenth to You.

¹² And You said, I will surely deal well with you, and I will make your seed like the sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered for multitude.

²⁵ From the God of your father, may He help you. And may the Almighty bless you with blessings of Heaven from above, blessings of the deep that lies beneath, blessings of the breasts and womb. ²⁶ The blessings of your father are above the blessings of my offspring, to the limit of everlasting hills; may they be for the head of Joseph and for the crown of the leader of his brothers.

¹⁷ I shall see him, but not now; I shall behold him, but not near. A star shall come forth out of Jacob, and a scepter shall rise out of Israel and shall dash the corners of Moab, and break down all the sons of tumult. ¹⁸ And Edom shall be a possession; and Seir shall be a possession, for his foes; but Israel shall do mightily. ¹⁹ And one out of Jacob shall rule, and will destroy the survivors from Ar.

¹⁰ Jehovah your God has multiplied you, and, behold, today you are as the stars of heaven for multitude.

¹⁹ then his father and his mother shall lay hold on him and bring him out to the elders of his city, and to the gate of his place;

² And all these blessings shall come on you and overtake you. If you will listen to the voice of Jehovah your God. ³ You shall be blessed in the city, and you shall be blessed in the field. ⁴ The fruit of your body shall be blessed, and the fruit of your ground, and the fruit of your livestock, the offspring of your oxen, and the young ones of your flock. ⁵ Your basket and your kneadingtrough shall be blessed. ⁶ You shall be blessed when you come in, and you shall be blessed when you go out. ⁷ Jehovah shall cause your enemies that rise up against you to be stricken before your face. They shall come out against you one way, and flee before you seven ways. ⁸ Jehovah shall command the blessing on you in your storehouses and all that you set your hand to . And He shall bless you in the land which Jehovah your God is giving to you. ⁹ Jehovah shall establish you a holy people to Himself, as He has sworn to you, if you shall keep the commands of Jehovah your God and welcome His ways. ¹⁰ And all the peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of Jehovah, and they shall fear you. ¹¹ And Jehovah shall prosper you in goods, and in the fruit of your body, and in the fruit of your livestock, and in the fruit of your ground in the land which Jehovah swore to your fathers to give it to you. ¹² Jehovah shall open to you His good treasure, the heavens to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. And you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow. ¹³ And Jehovah shall make you the head, and not the tail. And you shall be only above, and you shall not be beneath, if you heed the commandments of Jehovah your God, which I am commanding you today, to be careful to do them.

¹ And it happened after the death of Moses the servant of Jehovah, Jehovah spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' minister, saying, ² My servant Moses is dead. And now rise up, cross over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them, to the sons of Israel. ³ Every place on which the sole of your foot shall tread, I have given it to you, as I spoke to Moses. ⁴ From the wilderness, and this Lebanon, even to the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and to the Great Sea toward the setting of the sun, shall be your border. ⁵ No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not fail you nor will I forsake you. ⁶ Be strong and brave. For you shall cause this people to inherit the land which I swore to their fathers to give to them. ⁷ Only be strong and very brave, so that you may take heed to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you. Do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may act wisely wherever you go. ⁸ This book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, and you shall meditate on it by day and by night, so that you shall be on guard to do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall prosper your way, and then you shall act wisely. ⁹ Have I not commanded you? Be strong and brave. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for Jehovah your God is with you in all places where you go. ¹⁰ Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying,

¹ And it happened afterward, David struck the Philistines, and humbled them. And David took the Bridle of the Metropolis out of the hand of the Philistines. ² And he struck Moab, and measured them with a line; making them to lie down on the ground. And he measured two lines to put to death, and one full line to keep alive. And the Moabites were slaves to David, bearers of a gift. ³ And David struck Hadadezer the son of Rehob, king of Zobah, as he went to restore his power at the River. ⁴ And David captured from him seventeen hundred horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen. And David hamstrung all of the chariot horses; he only left a hundred chariots of them. ⁵ And the Syrians of Damascus came to give help to Hadadezer the king of Zobah. And David struck twenty two thousand men of Syria. ⁶ And David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus. And the Syrians became servants to David, bearers of tribute. And Jehovah helped David in all places in which he went. ⁷ And David took the shields of gold which were on Hadadezer's servants and bore them to Jerusalem. ⁸ And king David took very much bronze from Betah, and from Berothai, cities of Hadadezer. ⁹ And Toi the king of Hamath heard that David had struck all the army of Hadadezer. ¹⁰ And Toi sent his son Joram to king David to ask of his peace, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer and struck him. For Hadadezer had been a man of wars against Toi. And in his hand were silver articles, and golden articles, and bronze articles. ¹¹ King David also dedicated them to Jehovah, with the silver and the gold which he dedicated of all the nations which he subdued: ¹² from Syria, and from Moab, and from the sons of Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from Amalek, and from the plunder of Hadadezer the son of Rehob, the king of Zobah. ¹³ And David made a name for himself when he returned, after he had struck the Syrians in the Valley of Salt, eighteen thousand men . ¹⁴ And he put garrisons in all Edom; and all Edom became servants to David. And Jehovah helped David in all places in which he went. ¹⁵ And David reigned over all Israel, and David executed justice and righteousness to all his people. ¹⁶ And Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the army; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was the historian; ¹⁷ and Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar were priests; and Seraiah was scribe; ¹⁸ and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over both the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and the sons of David were priests.

¹ And it happened afterward, the king of the Ammonites died. And his son Hanun reigned in his place. ² And David said, I will show kindness to Hanun the son of Nahash, as his father showed kindness to me. And David sent to comfort him concerning his father by the hand of his servants. And David servants came into the land of the sons of Ammon. ³ And the leaders of the sons of Ammon said to their lord Hanun. Is David honoring your father in your eyes, because he has sent comforters to you? Has not David sent his servants to you to search the city, and to spy it out, and to overthrow it? ⁴ And Hanun took David's servants and shaved off half of their beards, and cut off their long robes in the center, to their buttocks; and he sent them away. ⁵ And they told David, and he sent to meet them; for the men were greatly ashamed. And the king said, Remain in Jericho until your beard grows; then you shall return. ⁶ And the sons of Ammon saw that they were odious to David. And the sons of Ammon sent and hired Syrians from Beth-rehob, and Syrians from Zobah, twenty thousand footmen; and the king of Maacah with a thousand men; and the men of Tob with twelve thousand men. ⁷ And David heard, then he sent Joab and all the army, the mighty men. ⁸ And the sons of Ammon came out and set the battle in order at the opening of the gate. And the Syrians of Zobah, and Rehob, and the men of Tob, and Maacah were by themselves in the field. ⁹ And Joab saw that the front of the battle was against him before and behind. And he chose from all the chosen in Israel, and set them in order to meet the Syrians. ¹⁰ And the rest of the people he gave into the hand of his brother Abishai, and he set in order to meet the sons of Ammon. ¹¹ And he said, If the Syrians are stronger than I, then you shall be for me; and if the sons of Ammon are stronger than you, then I will come to help you. ¹² Be strong, and let us be strong for our people, and for the cities of our God. And may Jehovah do that which seems good in His eyes. ¹³ And Joab and the people with him drew near to battle against the Syrians. And they fled before him. ¹⁴ And the sons of Ammon saw that the Syrians fled, and they fled before Abishai, and went into the city. And Joab returned from the sons of Ammon, and came to Jerusalem. ¹⁵ And Syria saw that it was stricken before Israel. And they assembled. ¹⁶ And Hadarezer sent and brought out the Syrians which were beyond the River. And they came to Helam, and Shobach was the commander of the army of Hadarezer before them. ¹⁷ And it was told to David. And he gathered all Israel, and passed over the Jordan, and came to Helam. And the Syrians set themselves in order to meet David. And they fought with him. ¹⁸ And the Syrians fled before Israel. And David killed from Syria seven hundred in chariots, and forty thousand horsemen. And he struck Shobach the commander of the army, and he died there. ¹⁹ And all the kings, the servants of Hadarezer, saw that they had been stricken before Israel. And they made peace with Israel, and served them. And Syria feared to help the sons of Ammon any more.

²⁶ And king Solomon built a navy in Ezion-geber, which is beside Eloth, on the lip of the Sea of Reeds, in the land of Edom.

⁸ Ask of Me, and I will give the nations as Your inheritance; and the uttermost parts of the earth as Your possession. ⁹ You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.

⁸ He shall also rule from sea to sea, and from the River to the ends of the earth. ⁹ Those dwelling in the desert will bow before Him, and His enemies will lick the dust.

²² And You have given them this land which You swore to their fathers to give to them a land flowing with milk and honey.

²² As the host of the heavens cannot be numbered, nor the sand of the sea measured, so I will multiply the seed of My servant David, and the Levites who minister to Me.

⁴⁴ And in the days of these kings, the God of Heaven shall set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed. And the kingdom shall not be left to other people. It shall break in pieces and destroy all these kingdoms, and it shall stand forever. ⁴⁵ Because you saw that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it broke the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold in pieces. The great God has made known to the king what shall occur after this. And the dream is certain, and the meaning of it is trustworthy.

⁹ For her wounds are incurable; for it has come to Judah; it has reached to the gate of my people, to Jerusalem.

⁶⁸ Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, because He visited and worked redemption for His people. ⁶⁹ And He raised up a Horn of salvation for us in the house of His servant David; ⁷⁰ even as He spoke through the mouth of His holy prophets from the age before : ⁷¹ Salvation from our enemies, and from the hand of all those hating us, ⁷² to execute mercy with our fathers, and to remember His holy covenant, ⁷³ the oath which He swore to our father Abraham, ⁷⁴ to give to us, that we being delivered out of our enemies' hand, in order to serve Him without fear, ⁷⁵ in consecration and righteousness before Him all the days of our life.

⁵⁷ but thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!

³ Blessed is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenlies with Christ,

¹⁵ And the seventh angel trumpeted. And there were great voices in Heaven, saying, The kingdoms of the world became our Lord's, even of His Christ; and He shall reign forever and ever.
