⁶ But not finding them, they dragged Jason and some brothers before the city judges, crying, Those turning the habitable world upside down have come here, too;

⁸ And I have come down to deliver them from the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land to a good and broad land, to a land flowing with milk and honey; to the place of the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Jebusite. ⁹ And now, behold, the cry of the sons of Israel has come to Me, and I also have seen the oppression with which the Egyptians are oppressing them.

¹⁷ And it happened when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said to him, Are you he, the disturber of Israel? ¹⁸ And he answered, I have not disturbed Israel, but you and the house of your father, in that you have forsaken the commands of Jehovah, and you have gone after the Baals.

² So says Jehovah, He who remains in this city shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the plague. But he who goes forth to the Chaldeans shall live; and his life shall be a prize; and he shall live. ³ So says Jehovah, This city shall surely be given into the hand of the king of Babylon's army, and he shall capture it. ⁴ And the rulers said to the king, Please let this man be put to death. For in this way he weakens the hands of the men of war who remain in this city, and the hands of all the people, in speaking these words to them. For this man does not seek the peace of this people, but the evil.

¹⁰ Then Amaziah, the priest of Bethel, sent to Jeroboam, the king of Israel, saying, Amos has plotted against you in the midst of the house of Israel. The land is not able to endure all his words.

¹⁴ And this gospel of the Kingdom shall be preached in all the earth for a testimony to all the nations, and then will come the end.

⁵ But they insisted, saying, He stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee to here.

¹² And they stirred up the people and the elders and the scribes. And coming on, they together seized him and led him into the sanhedrin. ¹³ And they stood up false witnesses, who were saying, This man does not cease speaking blasphemous words against this holy place and the Law;

¹⁹ And seeing that the hope of their gain went out, having seized Paul and Silas, her lords dragged them to the market before the rulers. ²⁰ And bringing them near to the magistrates, they said, These men are very much troubling our city, being Jews, ²¹ and announce customs which it is not lawful for us to receive, nor to do, being Romans.

¹² But Gallio being proconsul of Achaia, the Jews rushed against Paul with one passion and led him to the tribunal, ¹³ saying, This one persuades men to worship God contrary to the Law.

²⁸ crying out, Men, Israelites, help! This is the man who teaches all everywhere against the people and the Law and this place. And even more, he also brought Greeks into the temple and has defiled this holy place. ²⁹ For they had before seen Trophimus the Ephesian in the city with him, whom they supposed that Paul brought into the temple. ³⁰ And the whole city was moved, and there was a running together of people. And having laid hold of Paul, they drew him outside of the temple, and at once the doors were shut. ³¹ But as they were seeking to kill him, a report came up to the chiliarch of the cohort, that all Jerusalem is in a tumult.

²² And they heard him until this word, and lifted up their voice, saying, Take such a one from the earth, for it is not fitting that he should live! ²³ And they shouting, and tearing the garments, and throwing dust into the air,

⁵ For finding this man pestilent and moving insurrection among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the Nazarene sect;

²² But we think it fitting to hear from you as to what you think, for truly as concerning this sect, it is known to us that it is spoken against everywhere.
