⁴ and that He was buried, and that He was raised the third day, according to the Scriptures,

⁷ I will declare concerning the statute of Jehovah: He said to Me, You are My Son. Today I have begotten You.

¹⁰ For You will not leave My soul in Sheol; You will not give Your Holy One to see corruption. ¹¹ You will make Me know the way of life. In Your presence is fullness of joys; at Your right hand are pleasures forever.

⁹ And He put His grave with the wicked; and with a rich man in His death; although He had done no violence, and deceit was not in His mouth. ¹⁰ But Jehovah pleased to crush Him, to make Him sick, so that If He should put His soul as a guilt offering, He shall see His seed; He shall prolong His days; and the will of Jehovah shall prosper in His hand. ¹¹ He shall see the fruit of the travail of His soul; He shall be fully satisfied. By His knowledge shall My righteous Servant justify for many, and He shall bear their iniquities. ¹² Because of this I will divide to Him with the great, and with the strong He shall divide the spoil; because He poured out His soul to death; and He was counted with transgressors; and He bore the sin of many, and made intercession for transgressors.

² After two days He will bring us to life. In the third day He will raise us up, and we shall live before Him.

¹⁷ And Jehovah had appointed a great fish to swallow Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.

⁴⁰ And even as "Jonah was in the belly of the huge fish three days and three nights," so shall the Son of man be in the heart of the earth three days and three nights. Jon. 1:17

²¹ From that time, Jesus began to show to His disciples that it was necessary for Him to go away to Jerusalem, and to suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and to be killed, and to be raised on the third day.

¹⁹ And they will deliver Him up to the nations to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify. And the third day He will rise again.

⁵⁷ And evening having come, a rich man from Arimathea (Joseph by name) who also himself was discipled to Jesus, ⁵⁸ coming up to Pilate, this one asked for the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be given. ⁵⁹ And taking the body, Joseph wrapped it in clean linen, ⁶⁰ and laid it in his new tomb, which he had cut out in the rock. And rolling a great stone to the door of the tomb, he departed.

⁶³ saying, Sir, we have recalled that that deceiver while living said, After three days I will rise. ⁶⁴ Therefore, command that the grave be secured until the third day, that his disciples may not come by night and steal him away, and may say to the people, He is raised from the dead. And the last deception will be worse than the first.

¹ But after the sabbaths, at the dawning of the first of the sabbaths, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the grave. ² And, behold! A great earthquake occurred! For descending from Heaven and coming near, an angel of the Lord rolled away the stone from the door and was sitting on it. ³ And his face was as lightning and his clothing white as snow. ⁴ And those keeping guard were shaken from the fear of him, and they became as dead. ⁵ But answering, the angel said to the women, You must not fear, for I know that you seek Jesus who has been crucified. ⁶ He is not here, for He was raised, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord was lying.

³¹ For He taught His disciples, and said to them, The Son of man is betrayed into the hands of men, and they will kill Him. And being killed, He will rise up the third day.

³³ Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem. And the Son of man will be betrayed to the chief priests and to the scribes. And they will condemn Him to death and will betray Him to the nations. ³⁴ And they will mock Him and will flog Him and will spit at Him, and will kill Him. And on the third day He will rise again.

⁴³ Joseph of Arimathea came, an honorable councillor, who himself was also waiting for the kingdom of God. And taking courage, he went in to Pilate and begged the body of Jesus. ⁴⁴ And Pilate marveled if He had already died. And calling the centurion near, he asked him if He died already. ⁴⁵ And knowing from the centurion, he granted the body to Joseph. ⁴⁶ And having bought a linen cloth, and having taken Him down, he wrapped Him in the linen, and laid Him in a tomb which was cut out of rock. And he rolled a stone against the mouth of the tomb.

² And very early on the first of the week, the sun having risen, they came upon the tomb. ³ And they said to themselves, Who will roll away the stone from the door of the tomb for us? ⁴ And looking up, they saw that the stone had been rolled back; for it was very large. ⁵ And entering into the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right, having been clothed in a white robe. And they were much amazed. ⁶ But He said to them, Do not be amazed. You seek Jesus the Nazarene who has been crucified. He was raised. He is not here. See the place where they put Him? ⁷ But go, say to the disciples and to Peter, He goes before you into Galilee. You will see Him there, even as He told you.

²² saying, The Son of man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised the third day.

³² For He will be delivered up to the nations, and will be mocked, and will be insulted, and will be spat upon. ³³ And flogging Him, they will kill Him. And on the third day He will rise again.

⁵⁰ And, behold, a man named Joseph, being a councillor, a good and righteous man. ⁵¹ This one was not assenting to their counsel and deed ( he was from Arimathea, a city of the Jews), and who himself was eagerly expecting the kingdom of God, ⁵² coming near to Pilate, this one asked for the body of Jesus. ⁵³ And taking it down, he wrapped it in linen, and placed it in a quarried tomb, where no one was ever yet laid.

⁵ And they becoming terrified, and bowing their faces to the earth, they said to them, Why do you seek the living with the dead? ⁶ He is not here, but was raised. Remember how He spoke to you, yet being in Galilee, ⁷ saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and to be crucified, and the third day to rise again.

²⁶ Was it not necessary for the Christ to suffer these things, and to enter into His glory?

¹⁹ Jesus said to them, Destroy this sanctuary, and in three days I will raise it up. ²⁰ Then the Jews said, This sanctuary was forty six years being built, and do you raise it up in three days? ²¹ But He spoke about the sanctuary of His body. ²² Then when He was raised from the dead, His disciples recalled that He said this to them. And they believed the Scripture, and the word which Jesus spoke.

³⁸ And after these things, Joseph from Arimathea, being a disciple of Jesus, but concealed because of fear of the Jews, asked Pilate that he might take the body of Jesus. And Pilate gave permission. Then he came and took the body of Jesus.

³ to whom also He presented Himself living after His suffering, by many infallible proofs, being seen by them through forty days, and speaking the things concerning the kingdom of God.

²³ this One given to you by the before-determined counsel and foreknowledge of God, you having taken by lawless hands, having crucified Him, you put Him to death. ²⁴ But God raised Him up, loosing the throes of death, because it was not possible for Him to be held by it. ²⁵ For David said as to Him, "I always foresaw the Lord before Me, because He is at My right hand, that I not be moved. ²⁶ For this reason My heart rejoiced, and My tongue was glad; and My flesh also will dwell on hope, ²⁷ because You will not leave My soul in Hades, nor will You give Your Holy One to see corruption. ²⁸ You revealed to Me paths of life; You will fill Me with joy with Your face." ²⁹ And when they finished all the things having been written concerning Him, taking Him down from the tree, they laid Him in a tomb. ³⁰ But God raised Him from the dead; ³¹ who appeared for many days to those coming up with Him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are witnesses of Him to the people. ³² And we preach the gospel to you, the promise made to the fathers, ³³ that this God has fulfilled to us, their children, raising up Jesus; as also it has been written in the second Psalm, "You are My Son, today I have begotten You." Psa. 2:7 ³⁴ And that He raised Him from the dead, no more being about to return to corruption, so He has said, "I will give You" "the holy things of faithful David." Isa. 55:3 ³⁵ So He also said in another, "You will not give Your Holy One to see corruption." LXX-Psa. 15:10; MT-Psa. 16:10 ³⁶ For having served his own generation by the counsel of God, David truly fell asleep and was added to his fathers and saw corruption. 1 Kg. 2:10 ³⁷ But He whom God raised up, this One did not see corruption.

³¹ because He set a day in which "He is going to judge the habitable world in righteousness," by a Man whom He appointed; having given proof to all by raising Him from the dead. Psa. 9:8

²² Then obtaining help from God, I stand until this day, witnessing both to small and to great, saying nothing else than what the prophets and Moses also said was going to happen: ²³ that Christ was to suffer, that by a resurrection of the dead He was first going to proclaim light to the people and to the nations.

⁴ Therefore, we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, so also we should walk in newness of life.

¹⁶ For if the dead are not raised, Christ has not been raised. ¹⁷ But if Christ has not been raised, your faith is foolish; you are still in your sins. ¹⁸ And then those that fell asleep in Christ were lost. ¹⁹ If we only have hope in Christ in this life, we are of all men most miserable. ²⁰ But now Christ has been raised from the dead; He became the firstfruit of those having fallen asleep. ²¹ For since death is through man, also through a Man is a resurrection of the dead;

¹² being buried with Him in baptism, in whom also you were raised through the faith of the working of God, raising Him from among the dead.

²⁰ Now the God of Peace, He leading up out of the dead, the great Shepherd of the sheep, in the blood of the everlasting covenant, our Lord Jesus,

¹¹ searching for what, or what sort of time the Spirit of Christ made clear within them; testifying beforehand of the sufferings belonging to Christ, and the glories after these.
