"Let me sing to Yahweh because he is highly exalted; the horse and its rider he hurled into the sea. ² Yah* is my strength and song, and he has become my salvation;* this is my God, and I will praise him—the God of my father—and I will exalt him. ³ Yahweh is a man of war; Yahweh is his name. ⁴ The chariots of Pharaoh and his army he cast into the sea, and his choice adjutants were sunk in the _⌊Red Sea_⌋.* ⁵ The deep waters covered them; they went down into the depths like a stone. ⁶ Yahweh, your right hand is glorious in power; Yahweh, your right hand destroyed the enemy. ⁷ And in the greatness of your majesty you overthrew those standing up to you; you released your fierce anger, and it consumed them like stubble. ⁸ And by the breath of your nostrils waters were piled up; waves stood like a heap; deep waters in the middle of the sea congealed. ⁹ The enemy said, 'I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide plunder, my desire will be full of them, I will draw my sword, my hand will destroy them.' ¹⁰ You blew with your breath; the sea covered them; they dropped like lead in the mighty waters. ¹¹ Who is like you among the gods, Yahweh? Who is like you—glorious in holiness, awesome in praiseworthy actions, doing wonders?* ¹² You stretched out your right hand; the earth swallowed them. ¹³ In your loyal love you led the people whom you redeemed; in your strength you guided them to the abode of your holiness.* ¹⁴ Peoples heard; they trembled; anguish seized the inhabitants of Philistia. ¹⁵ Then the chiefs of Edom were horrified; great distress seized the leaders of Moab; all of the inhabitants of Canaan melted away. ¹⁶ Terror and dread fell on them; at the greatness of your arm they became silent like the stone, until your people passed by, Yahweh, until the people whom you bought passed by. ¹⁷ You brought them and planted them on the mountain of your inheritance, a place you made for yourself to inhabit, Yahweh, a sanctuary, Lord, that your hands established. ¹⁸ Yahweh will reign as king forever and ever." ¹⁹ When the horses* of Pharaoh came into the sea with his chariots* and with his charioteers, Yahweh brought back upon them the waters of the sea, and the _⌊Israelites_⌋* traveled on dry ground through the middle of the sea. ²⁰ And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took her* tambourine in her hand, and all of the women went out after her with tambourines and with dances. ²¹ And Miriam answered,* "Sing to Yahweh because he is highly exalted; the horse and its rider he hurled into the sea." ²² And Moses caused Israel to set out from the _⌊Red Sea_⌋,* and they went out into the desert of Shur, and they traveled three days in the desert, and they did not find water. ²³ And they came to Marah, and they were not able to drink water from Marah because it was bitter. Therefore _⌊it was named_⌋* Marah. ²⁴ And the people grumbled against Moses, saying, "What shall we drink?" ²⁵ And he cried out to Yahweh, and Yahweh showed him a piece of wood, and he threw it into the water, and the water became sweet. There he made a rule and regulation for them, and there he tested them. ²⁶ And he said, "If you carefully listen to the voice of Yahweh your God and you do what is right in his eyes and give heed to his commands and you keep all his rules, then I will not bring about on you any of the diseases* that I brought about on Egypt, because I am Yahweh your healer. ²⁷ And they came to Elim, and twelve springs of water and seventy palm trees were there, and they encamped there at the water.

¹⁷ And as for me, look, I am about to harden the heart of the Egyptians so that they come after them, and I will display my glory through Pharaoh and through all of his army, through his chariots and through his charioteers. ¹⁸ And the Egyptians will know that I am Yahweh when I display my glory through Pharaoh, through his chariots, and through his charioteers."

²⁷ And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the sea returned _⌊at daybreak_⌋* to its normal level, and the Egyptians were fleeing _⌊because of it_⌋,* and Yahweh swept the Egyptians into the middle of the sea.

²¹ And Miriam answered,* "Sing to Yahweh because he is highly exalted; the horse and its rider he hurled into the sea."

¹¹ Now I know that Yahweh is greater than all the gods, _⌊even in the matter where they the Egyptians dealt arrogantly against the Israelites_⌋."*

I will sing to Yahweh; I will sing praise to Yahweh, the God of Israel. ⁴ Yahweh, when you went down from Seir, when you marched from the region of Edom, the earth trembled, the heavens poured down, the clouds poured down water. ⁵ The mountains trembled* before Yahweh, this Sinai, at the presence of Yahweh, the God of Israel. ⁶ "In the days of Shamgar son of Anath, in the days of Jael, the caravans had ceased, _⌊the travelers_⌋,* _⌊they kept to the byways_⌋.* ⁷ The warriors* ceased; they failed to appear in Israel, until I,* Deborah, arose; I* arose as a mother in Israel. ⁸ God chose new leaders,* then war was at the gates; a small shield or a spear was not seen among forty thousand in Israel. ⁹ My heart goes out to the commanders of Israel, those offering themselves willingly among the people; bless Yahweh! ¹⁰ The riders of white female donkeys, those sitting on saddle blankets, and those going on the way, talk about it! ¹¹ At the sound of those dividing* the sheep among the watering places, there they will recount the righteous deeds of Yahweh, the righteous deeds for his warriors* in Israel. For the clans of Reuben, there were great searchings of the heart. ¹⁷ Gilead has remained* beyond the Jordan. Why did Dan dwell as a foreigner with ships? Asher sat at the coast of the waters, and by his coves he has been settling down. ¹⁸ Zebulun is a people who scorned death, and Naphtali, on the heights of the field. ¹⁹ "The kings came, they fought; then the kings of Canaan fought; at Taanach by the waters of Megiddo, they got no plunder in silver. ²⁰ The stars fought from heaven; from their courses they fought against Sisera. ²¹ The wadi* torrent of Kishon swept them away, the raging wadi torrent, the wadi torrent of Kishon. And the land had rest for forty years.

¹ Then David spoke to Yahweh the words of this song,* on the day Yahweh delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul. ² And he said: "Yahweh is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer. ³ I take refuge in God, my rock,* my shield, and the _⌊strength_⌋* of my salvation. My stronghold and my refuge, O my savior, you will save me from violence! ⁴ I call upon Yahweh who is praiseworthy, and I am saved from those who hate me. ⁵ For the breaker waves of death engulfed me; the currents of chaos overwhelmed me. ⁶ The ropes of Sheol entangled me; the snares of death confronted me. ⁷ In my distress I called upon Yahweh, and to my God I called. He heard my voice from his temple, and my cry for help was to his ears. ⁸ The earth heaved and shook, the foundations of heaven trembled and heaved because _⌊he was angry_⌋.* ⁹ Smoke went up from his nostrils and fire from his mouth. Burning coals devoured, they burned from him. ¹⁰ He bowed the heavens and came down; a very thick cloud was under his feet. ¹¹ He rode upon a cherub and flew; he was seen on the wings of the wind. ¹² He put darkness as a canopy all around him, a collection of _⌊thick rain clouds_⌋.* ¹³ From the brightness before him flamed burning coals of fire. ¹⁴ Yahweh thundered from heaven, and the Most High _⌊uttered his voice_⌋.* ¹⁵ He sent arrows and he scattered them, lightning, and he directed them. ¹⁶ Then the channels of water of the sea were exposed, the foundations of the world, at the rebuke of Yawheh, from the blast of the breath of his nostrils. ¹⁷ He sent from a high position and took me; he drew me from mighty waters. ¹⁸ He delivered me from my strong enemies, from those who hate me, for they were mightier than I. ¹⁹ They approached me on the day of my disaster, but Yahweh was my support. ²⁰ He brought me out to a spacious place. He delivered me because he delighted in me. ²¹ Yahweh rewarded me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands he recompensed me. ²² For I have kept the ways of Yahweh; I have not acted wickedly against my God. ²³ For all of his ordinances were before me, and I did not turn aside from his statutes. ²⁴ I was blameless before him, and I kept myself from my iniquity. ²⁵ Yahweh has recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to my cleanness before his eyes. ²⁶ With the loyal, you act as loyal, and with the blameless, you show yourself blameless. ²⁷ With the pure, you show yourself pure, but with the crooked, you appear as a fool. ²⁸ Humble people you will deliver, but your eyes are on the haughty, whom you bring down. ²⁹ For you, O Yahweh are my lamp, and Yahweh lightens my darkness. ³⁰ For by you I can run a raid; by my God I can leap over a wall. ³¹ This God, his way is blameless; the promise of Yahweh is flawless. He is a shield to all who take refuge in him. ³² For who is God apart from Yahweh? And who is a rock apart from our God? ³³ God is my strong refuge, he has fully opened my way.* ³⁴ He makes my feet* like a doe deer, and on my high places he has set me. ³⁵ He trains my hands for the war, so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze. ³⁶ You have given me the shield of your salvation; your willingness to help has made me great. ³⁷ You have broadened my steps beneath me; my ankles have not wobbled. ³⁸ I pursued those who hate me, and I destroyed them. I did not turn back until finishing them. ³⁹ I wiped them out and I smashed them; they did not get up; they fell under my feet. ⁴⁰ You have girded me with physical strength for the battle; you caused those who rose up against me to kneel under me. ⁴¹ _⌊My enemies you cause to retreat from me_⌋;* I destroy those who hate me. ⁴² They looked out, but there was no deliverer, even to Yahweh, but he did not answer them. ⁴³ I beat them fine, like the dust of the earth; like the mire of the streets, I crushed them, I stamped them down. ⁴⁴ You delivered me from the strife of my people; you preserved me as the head of the nations. A people I had not known served me. ⁴⁵ Children of a foreign land came cringing to me; _⌊when they heard of me_⌋,* they became obedient to me. ⁴⁶ Children of a foreign land lost heart and came trembling from their strongholds. ⁴⁷ Yahweh lives! Blessed be my rock! May God, the rock of my salvation, be exalted! ⁴⁸ God does vengeance for me, bringing down peoples under me. ⁴⁹ He brings me out from my enemies, and from those who rose up against me you lift me up, and from men of violence you rescue me. ⁵⁰ Therefore I will extol you, Yahweh, among the nations! I will sing praises to your name! ⁵¹ He makes great salvation for his king and shows loyal love to his anointed one, David and to his descendants forever."

¹² Then they believed his words; they sang his praise.

God is my salvation; I will trust, and I will not be afraid, for my strength and might is Yah, Yahweh; and he has become salvation for me." ³ And you will draw water from the wells of salvation in joy. ⁴ And you will say on that day,
"Give thanks to Yahweh; call on his name. Make his deeds known among the peoples; bring to remembrance that his name is exalted. ⁵ Sing praises to Yahweh, for he has done a glorious thing; this is known in all the earth. ⁶ Inhabitant of Zion, shout out and sing for joy, for the holy one of Israel is great in your midst."

¹⁰ Are you not the one who dried up the sea, the waters of the great deep, the one who _⌊made_⌋* the depths of the sea a way for those who are redeemed to cross over? ¹¹ So* the redeemed ones of Yahweh shall return, and they shall come to Zion with singing, and everlasting joy shall be on their heads.* Joy and gladness shall _⌊appear_⌋;* sorrow and sighing shall flee away!

¹⁵ When he* had disarmed the rulers and the authorities, he made a display of them in public, triumphing over them by it.*

³ And they were singing the song of Moses, the slave of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying:
"Great and marvelous are your works, Lord God All-Powerful; righteous and true are your ways, King of the ages!*

⁷ And I will establish my covenant between me and you, and between your offspring after you, throughout their generations as an everlasting covenant to be as God for you and to your offspring after you.

²¹ and if I return in peace to the house of my father, then Yahweh will become my God. ²² And this stone that I have set up as a pillar shall be the house of God, and of all that you give to me I will certainly give a tenth to you."

⁶ And he said, "I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob." And Moses hid his face because he was afraid of looking at God.

¹⁵ And God said again to Moses, "So you must say to the _⌊Israelites_⌋,* 'Yahweh, the God of your ancestors,* the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is my name forever, and this is my remembrance from generation to generation.' ¹⁶ Go and gather the elders of Israel and say to them, 'Yahweh, the God of your ancestors,* appeared to me, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, saying, "I have carefully attended to you and what has been done to you in Egypt."

²² And you must say to Pharaoh, 'Thus says Yahweh, "Israel is my son, my firstborn."

¹³ And Moses said to the people, "You must not be afraid. Stand still and see the salvation of Yahweh, which he will accomplish for you today, because the Egyptians whom you see today you will see never again.

³⁴ And the cloud covered the tent of assembly, and the glory of Yahweh filled the tabernacle.

²¹ He is your praise, and he is your God, who has done with you these great and awesome things that your eyes have seen.

⁵ "Go and tell my servant David, 'Thus says Yahweh: "Are you the one to build for me a house for my dwelling?

⁴⁷ Yahweh lives! Blessed be my rock! May God, the rock of my salvation, be exalted!

⁵¹ He makes great salvation for his king and shows loyal love to his anointed one, David and to his descendants forever."

¹³ I have certainly built a lofty house for you, a place for you to live forever."

²⁷ For will God really dwell on the earth? Behold, the heavens and the heaven of heavens could not contain you! _⌊How could_⌋* this house that I have built?

¹ For the music director. Of David, the servant of Yahweh, who spoke to Yahweh the words of this song _⌊when_⌋* Yahweh delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul.*
And he said: "I love you, O Yahweh, my strength." ² Yahweh is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock in whom I have taken refuge, my shield and the horn of my deliverance, my stronghold.

⁴⁶ Yahweh lives, and blessed be my rock, and may the God of my salvation be exalted—

³ Yet you are holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel.

¹⁰ On you I was cast from the womb. From my mother's belly you have been my God.

Yahweh is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? Yahweh is the refuge of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

⁸ Yahweh is their strength, and he is the refuge for the salvation of his anointed one.

¹ A psalm; a song for the dedication of the house.* Of David.*
I will exalt you, O Yahweh, because you have drawn me up, and have not made my enemies rejoice over me.

³ Magnify Yahweh with me, and let us exalt his name together.

¹⁷ O my strength, to you I will give praise, because God is my high stronghold, my God of loyal love.

⁶ Only he is my rock and my salvation, my high stronghold; I shall not be shaken. ⁷ On God rests my salvation and my glory; God* is my strong rock, my refuge.

²⁰ Our God is a God of deliverances, and to the Yahweh the Lord belong escapes from death.

O God of my praise, do not keep silent,

I will exalt you, my God, O king, and I will bless* your name forever and ever.

² Look! God is my salvation; I will trust, and I will not be afraid, for my strength and might is Yah, Yahweh; and he has become salvation for me."

¹ Yahweh, you are my God; I will exalt you. I will praise your name, for you have done wonderful things,* plans* _⌊of old_⌋,* in faithfulness, trustworthiness.

¹⁷ Israel is saved by Yahweh with everlasting salvation; you shall not be ashamed, and you shall not be humiliated _⌊to all eternity_⌋.*

⁶ And he says, "It is trivial _⌊for you to be_⌋* a servant for me,
to raise up the tribes of Jacob and to bring back the preserved of Israel. I will give you as a light to the nations, to be my salvation to the end of the earth."

¹ Thus says Yahweh:
"Heaven is my throne, and the earth is the footstool for my feet. Where is this house that you would build for me? And where is this resting place for me?

²³ Surely, an illusion comes from the hills, the turmoil on the mountains. Surely, in Yahweh our God is the salvation of Israel.

³³ "But this is the covenant that I will _⌊make_⌋* with the house of Israel after those days," _⌊declares_⌋* Yahweh: "I will put my law in their inward parts and on their hearts* I will write it, and I will be to them God, and they themselves will be to me people.

³⁸ And they will be for me a people, and I will be for them God.

¹⁷ Though the fig tree does not blossom, nor there be fruit on the vines; the yield of the olive tree fails, and the cultivated fields do not yield food; the flock is cut off from the animal pen, and there is no cattle in the stalls, ¹⁸ Yet I will rejoice in Yahweh; I will exult in the God of my salvation. ¹⁹ Yahweh, my Lord, is my strength; he makes my feet like the deer; he causes me to walk on my high places. To the choirmaster with stringed instruments.

⁹ And I will bring the remaining third into the fire, and I will refine them like one refines silver, and I will test them like one tests gold. They* will call my name, and I will answer them.* I will say, 'They* are my people,' and they* will say, 'Yahweh is my God.'"

⁷⁷ to give knowledge of salvation to his people by the forgiveness of their sins,

³⁰ For my eyes have seen your salvation

²² You worship what you do not know. We worship what we know, because salvation is from the Jews.

²³ in order that all people* will honor the Son, just as they honor the Father. The one who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him.

¹² And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among people by which we must be saved."

¹⁹ namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.

²² in whom you also are built up together into a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.*

¹³ I am able to do all things by the one who strengthens me.

⁹ because in him all the fullness of deity dwells bodily,

⁹ And they were singing a new song, saying,
"You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slaughtered, and bought people for God by your blood from every tribe and language and people and nation, ¹⁰ and made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they will reign on the earth." ¹¹ And I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne and of the living creatures and of the elders, and their number was ten thousand times ten thousand and thousands times thousands, ¹² saying with a loud voice,
"Worthy is the Lamb who was slaughtered to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!" ¹³ And I heard every creature that is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and in the sea and everything in them saying,
"To the one who is seated on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power* _⌊forever and ever_⌋*." ¹⁴ And the four living creatures were saying, "Amen!" and the elders fell down and worshiped.

¹ After these things I heard something like the loud sound of a great crowd in heaven saying,
"Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God,

¹³ But Moses said to God, "Look, if I go to the _⌊Israelites_⌋* and I say to them, 'The God of your ancestors* has sent me to you,' and they say to me, 'What is his name?' then what shall I say to them?"

¹⁵ And God said again to Moses, "So you must say to the _⌊Israelites_⌋,* 'Yahweh, the God of your ancestors,* the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is my name forever, and this is my remembrance from generation to generation.'

² And God spoke to Moses, and he said to him, "I am Yahweh. ³ And I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob as God Shaddai,* but by my name Yahweh I was not known to them.

⁶ Therefore say to the _⌊Israelites_⌋,* 'I am Yahweh, and I will bring you out from under the _⌊forced labor_⌋* of Egypt, and I will deliver you from their slavery, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great punishments. ⁷ And I will take you _⌊as my people_⌋,* and I will be _⌊your God_⌋,* and you will know that I am Yahweh your God, who brought you out from under the _⌊forced labor_⌋* of Egypt. ⁸ And I will bring you to the land _⌊that I swore_⌋* to give to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, and I will give it to you as a possession. I am Yahweh."

¹⁴ Yahweh will fight for you, and you must be quiet."

⁸ Who is the king of glory?* Yahweh, strong and mighty; Yahweh, mighty in war!

³ Gird your sword on your thigh, O mighty one, in your splendor and your majesty.

¹⁸ that they may know that you, whose name is Yahweh, you alone, are the Most High over the whole earth.

⁸ I am Yahweh; that is my name,
and I do not give my glory to another, nor* my praise to the idols.

¹¹ And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and the one seated on it was called "Faithful" and "True," and with justice* he judges and makes war. ¹² Now his eyes were a flame of fire, and on his head were many royal headbands having a name written that no one except he himself knows. ¹³ And he was dressed in an outer garment dipped in blood, and his name is called the Word of God. ¹⁴ And the armies that are in heaven, dressed in clean, white fine linen, were following him on white horses. ¹⁵ And out of his mouth came a sharp sword, so that with it he could strike the nations. And he will shepherd them with an iron rod,* and he stomps the winepress of the wine of the furious wrath of God, the All-Powerful. ¹⁶ And he has a name written on his outer garment and on his thigh: "King of kings and Lord of lords." ¹⁷ And I saw one angel standing in the sun, and he cried out with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly _⌊directly overhead_⌋*,
"Come! ⁶ And he harnessed his chariot and took with him his people. ⁷ And he took six hundred select chariots and all the chariots of Egypt and officers over all of them.

¹³ And Moses said to the people, "You must not be afraid. Stand still and see the salvation of Yahweh, which he will accomplish for you today, because the Egyptians whom you see today you will see never again. ¹⁴ Yahweh will fight for you, and you must be quiet." ¹⁵ And Yahweh said to Moses, "Why do you cry out to me? ³⁴ Now you are broken by seas in the depths of waters; your wares and all of your crew in the midst of you have sunk.

"In this way Babylon the great city will be thrown down with violence, and will never be found again!

¹¹ Who is like you among the gods, Yahweh? Who is like you—glorious in holiness, awesome in praiseworthy actions, doing wonders?*

¹¹ To you, O Yahweh, is the greatness and the power and the splendor and the glory and the strength, for everything in the heavens and in the earth. Yours, O Yahweh, is the kingdom and exaltation over all as head! ¹² And wealth and glory are from you, and you rule over all. And in your hand is power and might. And in your hand is power to make great and to give strength to all.

⁹ You will break them with an iron rod. Like a potter's vessel you will shatter them."

⁷ Show wondrously your acts of loyal love, O Savior of those who take refuge at your right hand* from those who rise up against them.

³ For not with their sword did they possess the land, and their arm did not give them victory. Rather it was your right hand and your arm and the light of your presence, because you delighted in them.

Sing to* Yahweh a new song, for he has done wonders. His right hand and his holy arm have secured his victory.

⁹ Awake! Awake; put on strength, O arm of Yahweh! Awake as in days of long ago, the generations of a long time back! Are you not the one who cut Rahab in pieces, the one who pierced the sea-dragon?

¹⁰ Yahweh has bared _⌊his holy arm_⌋* to the eyes of all the nations, and all the ends* of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.

¹⁴ And I will smash them, each one against his brother, and the fathers and the sons together," _⌊declares_⌋* Yahweh. "I will not have compassion, and I will not take pity, and I will not show compassion from destroying them." '"

¹³ And do not bring us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.*

²⁷ and "he will shepherd them with an iron rod; he will break them in pieces like jars made of clay,"*

¹⁶ But for the sake of this I have caused you to stand—for the sake of showing you my strength and in order to proclaim my name in all the earth.

³³ to the one who rides in the highest heavens of old. See, he gives forth his voice, a mighty voice.

²⁴ Therefore as the tongue of fire devours the stubble, and dry grass sinks down in the flame, so their root will become like the stench, and their blossom will go up like the dust. For they have rejected the instruction of Yahweh of hosts, and they have treated the word of the holy one of Israel with contempt.

¹⁷ Yahweh, extend your ear and hear! Yahweh, open your eyes and see, and hear all the words of Sennacherib that he has sent to taunt the living God!

²³ Whom have you taunted and blasphemed, and against whom have you raised up your voice and lifted your eyes upward?
To the holy one of Israel!

²⁹ Because you were enraged _⌊against_⌋* me, and your noise* has come up to* my ears, I will put my hook in your nose and my bridle on your lips, and I will turn you back on the way by which you came.

³⁶ And the angel of Yahweh set out and struck one hundred and eighty-five thousand in the camp of the Assyrians. When* they rose in the morning, look! All of them were dead corpses.

³⁸ And this happened: he was bowing in worship in the house of Nisroch his god, and Adrammelech and Sharezer, his sons, struck him with the sword. And they themselves escaped to the land of Ararat, and Esar-haddon his son reigned as king in his place.

¹⁴ Look! They are like stubble; the fire burns them completely. They cannot deliver _⌊themselves_⌋* from the _⌊power_⌋* of the flame; there is no coal _⌊for warming oneself_⌋,* no fire before which to sit.

⁶ There is none like you, O Yahweh, you are great and your name is great in might.

¹¹ And now, many nations are gathered against you who are saying, 'Let her be defiled, and let our eyes gaze upon Zion.'

⁹ What* do you plot against Yahweh? _⌊He will completely destroy it_⌋;* trouble will not rise up a second time! ¹⁰ For like entangled thorns, and like their drink which is drunk, they will be consumed like fully dry chaff. ¹¹ From you goes out one who plots evil against Yahweh, one who plans wickedness. ¹² Yahweh says this:
"Even though they are powerful and likewise many, even so they will be cut off and pass away. Though I have afflicted you,* I will afflict you* no longer.

⁸ For thus said Yahweh of hosts, after glory* he sent me against the nations plundering you: Truly, the one touching you is touching the apple* of his eye.

³ Then Yahweh will go forth and fight against those nations, like _⌊when he fights_⌋* on a day of battle.

⁸ _⌊And then_⌋* on that day, living waters will flow out from Jerusalem, half of them to the eastern sea,* and the other half to the western sea;* it will happen both in the summer and in the winter.

¹ * "For look! The day is about to come, burning like an oven, and all the arrogant and every _⌊evildoer_⌋* will be stubble. The coming day will consume* them," says Yahweh of hosts. "It will not leave behind for them root or branch.

¹² His winnowing shovel is in his hand, and he will clean out his threshing floor and will gather his wheat into the storehouse, but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire."

⁴ And falling to the ground, he heard a voice saying to him, "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?"

³⁰ 'Are they not finding and dividing the plunder? _⌊A bedmate or two bedmates for every man_⌋;* colorful garments for Sisera, plunder of colorful garments,* beautifully finished colorful garments, on the neck of the plunderer?'

² Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, "Thus may the gods do to me, and may they add to it, surely at this time tomorrow I will make your life as the life of one of them!"

¹⁰ Then Ben-Hadad sent to him and said, "Thus may the gods do to me and thus may they add if the dust of Samaria is sufficient for the hollow of a hand for all of the people who are at my feet."

⁸ For he says, "Are not my commanders altogether kings? ⁹ Is not Calno like Carchemish? Is not Hamath like Arpad? Is not Samaria like Damascus? ¹⁰ As my hand has reached to the kingdoms of the idols* —and their images were _⌊greater than those of_⌋* Jerusalem and Samaria— ¹¹ shall I not do to Jerusalem and its idols what I have done to Samaria and her idols?" ¹² And this shall happen: when the Lord has finished all his work against _⌊Mount Zion_⌋* and Jerusalem, "I will punish the _⌊arrogance_⌋* of the king of Assyria and _⌊his haughtiness_⌋."* ¹³ For he says,
"I have done it by the strength of my hand and by my wisdom, for I have understanding, and I have removed the boundaries of peoples, and I have plundered their stores, and like a bull I have brought down _⌊the inhabitants_⌋.*

²⁰ Who are there among all the gods of these countries who have saved their land from my hand, that Yahweh should save Jerusalem from my hand?" '"

¹² Therefore, I will divide to him a portion among the many,* and with the strong ones he will divide bounty, _⌊because_⌋* he poured his life out to death and was counted with the transgressors; and* he was the one who bore the sin of many and will intercede for the transgressors.

¹⁴ You pierced the head of his warriors with his own arrows; they came like a whirlwind to scatter me, their exultation like one who devours the afflicted in ambush.

²² But when a stronger man attacks him and* conquers him, he takes away his full armor in which he trusted and distributes his plunder.

⁷ He causes clouds to rise from the edge of the earth; he makes lightnings for the rain; he brings out the wind from his storehouses.

¹⁸ He sends out his word and melts them; he blows his breath, the water flows.

¹⁵ And Yahweh will divide* the tongue* of the sea of Egypt,* and he will wave his hand over the river* with his scorching wind; and he will strike it into seven streams, and he will _⌊make it passable by foot_⌋.*

¹³ _⌊When he utters his voice_⌋* there is a noise of water in the heavens, and he causes the mist to rise from the ends* of the earth. He makes lightning for the rain, and he causes the wind to go out from his storehouses.

¹³ Yes, here is the one who forms the mountains, and the one who creates the wind, and the one who reveals to humans what his thoughts are, and the one who treads on the heights of the earth; Yahweh, the God of hosts, is his name!"

²⁷ And the men were astonished, saying, "What sort of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him?"

¹⁰ And he said, "Tomorrow." And he said, "Let it be according to your word so that you will know that there is no one like Yahweh our God.

² "Speak to all the community of the _⌊Israelites_⌋,* and say to them, 'You* must be holy, because I, Yahweh your* God, am holy.

²⁴ 'Lord Yahweh, you have begun to show your servant your greatness and your strong hand, for what* god is there in the heaven or on the earth who can do according to your works and according to your mighty deeds?

² There is no one holy like Yahweh, for there is no one besides you, and there is no rock like our God.

²² Therefore you are great, my lord Yahweh, for there is no one like you, and there is no god except you, in all that we have heard with our ears.

²³ and he said, "O Yahweh, God of Israel, there is no god like you in the heavens above or on the earth beneath, keeping the covenant and the loyal love for your servants who are walking before you with all their heart.

¹⁰ All of my bones shall say, "O Yahweh, who is like you, who delivers the poor from one stronger than he and the poor and needy from the one who robs him?"

⁵ Come and _⌊consider_⌋* the works of God; he is awesome in his dealings* with the children of humankind.

¹⁴ You are the God who works wonders;* you have made known your might among the peoples.

¹⁹ Your way was through the sea, and your path* through many waters. Yet your footprints were not discerned.*

⁸ There is none like you among the gods, O Lord, and there are no works like yours.

⁵ And so the heavens will praise your wonderful deed, O Yahweh, even your faithfulness, in the assembly of the holy ones. ⁶ For who in the sky* is equal to Yahweh? Who is like Yahweh among the sons of God, ⁷ a God feared greatly in the council of the holy ones, and awesome above all surrounding him? ⁸ O Yahweh God of hosts, who is mighty like you, O Yah, with* your faithfulness surrounding you?

¹⁸ because our shield belongs to Yahweh,* and our king to the Holy One of Israel.*

¹¹ Who knows the strength of your anger, and your rage consistent with* the fear due you?

¹²⁰ My flesh trembles for fear of you, and I am afraid of your judgments.

¹⁷ Yahweh is righteous in all his ways, and loyal in all his works.

³ And the one called to the other and said,
"Holy, holy, holy is Yahweh of hosts! The _⌊whole earth is full of his glory_⌋."*

²⁵ "And to whom you will compare me, and am I equal?" says the holy one.

"I reside in a high and holy place, and with the _⌊contrite_⌋* and humble of spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the _⌊contrite_⌋.*

⁶ There is none like you, O Yahweh, you are great and your name is great in might. ⁷ Who would not revere you, O king of the nations? For you it is fitting. For among all the wise men of the nations, and in all their kingdoms,* there is none like you.

¹⁶ The portion of Jacob is not like these, for he is the creator of everything, and Israel is the tribe of his inheritance, Yahweh of hosts is his name.

¹⁹ Look, like a lion he comes up from the thickets of the Jordan to _⌊a pastureland by a constantly flowing stream_⌋.* So _⌊I will chase him away hurriedly_⌋* from it. And whoever is chosen I will appoint over it. For who is like me, and who can summon me? And who is this, the shepherd who can stand _⌊before me_⌋?"*

⁵ But I will show you whom you should fear: fear the one who has authority, after the killing, to throw you* into hell! Yes, I tell you, fear this one!

²⁸ Therefore, since we* are receiving an unshakable kingdom, let us be thankful, through which let us serve God acceptably, with awe and reverence. ²⁹ For indeed our God is a consuming fire.

¹⁵ but as the one who called you is holy, you yourselves be holy in all your conduct, ¹⁶ for it is written, "You will be holy, because I am* holy."**

⁸ And the four living creatures, _⌊each one_⌋* of them, had six wings apiece, full of eyes around and inside, and they do not have rest day and night, saying,
"Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God All-Powerful,* the one who was and the one who is and the one who is coming!"

⁴ Who would never fear, Lord, and glorify your name? For only you are holy, because all the nations* will come and worship before you, because your righteous deeds have been revealed."

¹ After these things I heard something like the loud sound of a great crowd in heaven saying,
"Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God, ² because his judgments are true and righteous, because he has passed judgment on the great prostitute who corrupted the earth with her sexual immorality, and has avenged the blood of his slaves _⌊shed by_⌋* her hand!" ³ And a second time they said,

Give ear, O shepherd of Israel, who leads Joseph like a flock. Shine forth, you who sits enthroned above the cherubim.

⁹ So he rebuked _⌊the Red Sea_⌋,* and it dried up, and he led them through the deep as through a desert.

¹² _⌊who made_⌋* his magnificent arm move _⌊at_⌋* the right hand of Moses, _⌊who divided_⌋* the waters _⌊before them_⌋,* to make an everlasting name for himself, ¹³ _⌊who led_⌋* them through the depths? They did not stumble like a horse in the desert;

⁶ And they did not say, 'Where is Yahweh, the one who brought us up from the land of Egypt, the one who led us in the desert,* in a land of desert plains and gorges,* in a land of dryness and deep darkness, in a land _⌊that no one passes through_⌋,* and no human lives there?'

⁴ But God, being rich in mercy, because of his great love with which he loved us,

⁵ who are being protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time,

¹⁴ and they will _⌊tell it_⌋* to the inhabitants of this land. They heard that you, Yahweh, are in the midst of this people, that you are seen eye to eye, and your cloud is standing over them, and in a column of cloud you go before them by day and in a column of fire at night.

⁵ He sent messengers to Balaam son of Beor at Pethor, which is by the river,* in the land of the children of his people, to summon him, saying, "Look! A people went out from Egypt. Look! They cover _⌊the surface of the land_⌋;* they are about to dwell opposite me.

⁴ and instruct* the people, _⌊saying_⌋,* "You are about to cross through the territory of your brothers, the descendants* of Esau, who are living in Seir; they will be afraid of you, and so be very careful. ⁵ Do not get involved in battle* with them, for I will not give you any of their land, not even _⌊a foot's breadth_⌋* of it; since I have given Mount Seir as a possession for Esau.

²⁵ This day I will begin to place _⌊the dread of you_⌋* and the fear of you _⌊before_⌋* the peoples under all the heavens. They will hear _⌊the report about you_⌋,* and so they will shake and tremble _⌊because of you_⌋.' *

⁹ and said to the men, "I know that Yahweh has given you the land, and that dread of you has fallen on us, and that all the inhabitants of the land melt away in fear because of your presence. ¹⁰ For we have heard how Yahweh dried up the waters of the _⌊Red Sea_⌋* before you when you went out from Egypt, and what you did to the two kings of the Amorites that were beyond the Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom you utterly destroyed.

²⁴ And they answered Joshua and said, "Because it was told with certainty to your servants that Yahweh your God commanded Moses his servant to give to you all the land and to destroy all the inhabitants of the land before you, so we were very afraid for our lives because of you, and so we did this thing.

⁶ Trembling seized them there— pain as of a woman in labor.

²⁹ You must not rejoice, all you Philistines, that the rod that struck you is broken, for a viper will come forth from the root of the snake, and its fruit will be a flying serpent.

³¹ Wail, gate! Cry, city! Melt,* Philistia, all of you! For smoke is coming from the north, and there is no straggler in his ranks.

¹⁵ These are the chiefs of the sons of Esau. The sons of Eliphaz, the firstborn of Esau: the chiefs of Teman, Omar, Zepho, Kenaz,

⁴⁰ Now these are the names of the chiefs of Esau according to their families, according to their dwelling places, by their names: the chiefs Timna, Alvah, Jetheth,

¹⁴ From Kadesh Moses sent messengers to the king of Edom: "Thus your brother Israel has said, 'You know all the hardship that has found us; ¹⁵ our ancestors* went down to Egypt, and we lived in Egypt _⌊a long time_⌋,* and the Egyptians mistreated us and our ancestors.* ¹⁶ Then we cried to Yahweh, and he heard our voice; he sent an angel and brought us out from Egypt. And look, we are in Kadesh, a city on the edge of your territory. ¹⁷ Please let us go through your land. We will not go through a field or vineyard, and we will not drink water from a well. We will go along the road of the king; we will not turn aside right or left until we have gone through your territory.'" ¹⁸ Then Edom said to him, "You will not pass through us* lest _⌊we will go out_⌋* to meet you with the sword." ¹⁹ The _⌊Israelites_⌋* said to him, "We will go up on the main road, and if we* and our livestock* drink your water, we will pay for it.* It is only a small matter; let us pass through on our feet."* ²⁰ But he said, "You will not go through." And Edom went out to meet _⌊them_⌋* with a large army and a strong hand. ²¹ So Edom refused to give Israel passage through his territory, and Israel turned aside from him.

³ and Moab was very terrified in the presence of the people because _⌊they_⌋* were numerous; and Moab dreaded the presence of the _⌊Israelites_⌋.* ⁴ And Moab said to the elders of Midian, "Now the crowd will lick up all around us, like a bull devours the grass of the field." And Balak son of Zippor was king of Moab at that time. ⁵ He sent messengers to Balaam son of Beor at Pethor, which is by the river,* in the land of the children of his people, to summon him, saying, "Look! A people went out from Egypt. Look! They cover _⌊the surface of the land_⌋;* they are about to dwell opposite me.

⁴ and instruct* the people, _⌊saying_⌋,* "You are about to cross through the territory of your brothers, the descendants* of Esau, who are living in Seir; they will be afraid of you, and so be very careful.

⁸ And the officials shall continue to speak to the troops, and they shall say, '_⌊What man_⌋* is afraid _⌊and disheartened_⌋?* Let him go, and let him return to his house, and let him not cause the heart of his brothers to melt* like his.'

⁹ and said to the men, "I know that Yahweh has given you the land, and that dread of you has fallen on us, and that all the inhabitants of the land melt away in fear because of your presence.

¹¹ We heard this, and our hearts* melted, and _⌊no courage was left in anyone_⌋* because of your presence. For Yahweh your God is God in the heavens above and on the earth below.

²⁴ They said to Joshua, "Surely Yahweh has given all the land into our hand; also, all the inhabitants of the land melt away in fear because of our presence."

¹ And it happened, when all the kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan to the west, and all the kings of the Canaanites* who were by the sea heard that Yahweh dried up the waters of the Jordan in front of the _⌊Israelites_⌋* until they crossed over, their hearts melted, and _⌊there was no courage left in them_⌋* because of the presence of the _⌊Israelites_⌋. *

⁸ My companions who went up with me made the hearts* of the people melt, but I remained true to Yahweh my God.

¹⁶ And the lookouts of Saul in Gibeah of Benjamin saw _⌊that_⌋* the multitude _⌊surged back and forth_⌋.*

¹⁰ And he is also a _⌊valiant warrior_⌋,* whose heart is like the heart of the lion. He* will _⌊certainly melt_⌋* with fear, for all Israel knows that your father is a mighty warrior and those who are with him are _⌊valiant warriors_⌋.*

⁵¹ And Hadad died. And the chiefs of Edom were: chiefs Timna, Aliah, Jetheth, ⁵² Oholibamah, Elah, Pinon, ⁵³ Kenaz, Teman, Mibzar, ⁵⁴ Magdiel, and Iram. These are the chiefs of Edom.

² As smoke is driven off, you will drive them off. As wax melts before fire, the wicked will perish before God.

⁷ Therefore all hands will grow slack, and every human heart will melt,

¹ An oracle of Egypt:
Look! Yahweh is riding on a swift cloud and is coming to Egypt. And the idols of Egypt will tremble in front of him, and the heart of Egypt melts in his inner parts.

⁷ _⌊And then_⌋* when they say to you, 'On account of what are you groaning?' then you must say, 'On account of the report, for it is coming, and every heart will be weak and all hands will hang limp and every spirit will be disheartened, and all knees will go like water.' Look! It is coming, and it will happen!" _⌊declares_⌋* the Lord Yahweh.

¹⁰ Emptiness and plundering and devastation! Their hearts faint and their knees tremble,* _⌊All their loins shake_⌋* and all their faces _⌊turn_⌋* pale.

⁷ Under affliction I saw the tents of Cushan; the tent curtains of the land of Midian trembled.

⁷ But against all the _⌊Israelites_⌋,* from a man to an animal, a dog will not even _⌊bark_⌋,* so that you will know that Yahweh makes a distinction between Egypt and Israel.'

⁵ And now if you will carefully listen to my voice and keep my covenant, you will be a treasured possession for me out of all the peoples, _⌊for all the earth is mine_⌋,* ⁶ but you, you will belong to me as a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.' These are the words that you will speak to the _⌊Israelites_⌋."*

²⁷ " 'I will release my terror before you, and I will throw into confusion all the people against whom you come, and I will _⌊make all your enemies turn their back to you_⌋.*

²⁵ No one can take a stand _⌊against you_⌋;* your dread and your fear Yahweh your God will put on the _⌊surface_⌋* of all the land _⌊where you tread_⌋,* just as he _⌊promised_⌋* to you.

⁶ Like this do you treat Yahweh, foolish and _⌊unwise_⌋* people? Has he not, your father, created you? He made you, and he established you.

⁹ For Yahweh's portion was his people, Jacob the share of his inheritance.

⁹ He will guard the feet of his faithful* ones, but the wicked will be destroyed* in the darkness, because a man will not prevail by his might.

³⁷ _⌊And then_⌋* in the morning when the wine had gone out of Nabal, his wife told him these words. Then his heart died _⌊within him_⌋,* and he became like a stone.

²³ Who is like your people, like Israel? Israel is the one nation on earth whose God _⌊led them_⌋,* in order to redeem a people for himself, and to make a name for himself, and to do for you* the great and awesome things for your land in the presence of your people whom he redeemed for himself from Egypt, from the nations and their gods.

² Remember your congregation that you bought long ago, when you redeemed the tribe of your inheritance. Remember _⌊Mount Zion_⌋* where you have dwelt.

¹ But now thus says Yahweh,
he who created you, Jacob, and he who formed you, Israel: "You must not fear, for I have redeemed you. I have called you by your name; _⌊you are mine_⌋.* ² When you pass through the waters, I will be with you, and through the rivers, they shall not flow over you. When you walk through fire, you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not scorch* you. ³ For I am Yahweh, your God, the holy one of Israel, your savior. I give you Egypt as ransom, Cush and Seba in place of you.

¹⁰ Are you not the one who dried up the sea, the waters of the great deep, the one who _⌊made_⌋* the depths of the sea a way for those who are redeemed to cross over?

¹¹ For Yahweh has ransomed Jacob, and he has redeemed him from the hand of the person _⌊stronger_⌋* than he.

²⁸ Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock among which the Holy Spirit has appointed you as overseers, to shepherd the church of God which he obtained through the blood of his own Son.*

¹⁴ who gave himself for us, in order that he might redeem us from all lawlessness and purify for himself a people for his own possession, zealous for good deeds.

⁹ But you are a chosen race,* a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's possession, so that you may proclaim the virtues of the one who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light,

¹ But there were also false prophets among the people, as there will be false teachers among you also, who will bring in _⌊destructive heresies_⌋*, even denying the Master who bought them, thus* bringing on themselves swift destruction.

² You with your hand drove out the nations, but them* you planted. You harmed the peoples, but them* you let spread out.

⁵⁴ So he brought them to his holy territory,* this mountain his right hand acquired.* ⁵⁵ And he drove out nations before them and allocated them for an inheritance by boundary line, and settled the tribes of Israel in their tents.

⁶⁸ but chose the tribe of Judah, _⌊Mount Zion_⌋* that he loved. ⁶⁹ And he built his sanctuary like the heights, like the earth that he established forever.

⁸ You uprooted a vine from Egypt; you drove out the nations and planted it.

¹³ For Yahweh has chosen Zion; he has desired it for his habitation. ¹⁴ "This is my resting place forever; here I will dwell, for I have desired it.

¹ Let me sing for my beloved a song of my love concerning his vineyard: _⌊My beloved had a vineyard_⌋* on _⌊a fertile hill_⌋.* ² And he dug it and cleared it of stones, and he planted it with choice vines,* and he built a watchtower in the middle of it, and he even hewed out a wine vat in it, and he waited for it to yield grapes— but it yielded wild grapes. ³ And now, inhabitants of Jerusalem and men* of Judah, judge between me and my vineyard. ⁴ What more was there to do for my vineyard that I have not done in it? Why did I hope for it to yield grapes, and it yielded wild grapes?

²¹ Yet I planted you as a choice vine, all of it a seed of trustworthiness. How then have you altered before me into something that is degenerate, the foreign vine?

²³ Thus says Yahweh of hosts, the God of Israel, "They will again say these words* in the land of Judah and in its towns at my restoring their fortunes,*
'Yahweh bless you, O settlement of righteousness, O hill of holiness.'

⁴¹ And I will rejoice over them to do good to them, and I will plant them in this land in faithfulness with all my heart, and with all my inner self."*

¹⁶ Yahweh is king forever and ever; the nations have perished from his land.

¹⁰ Yahweh sits enthroned at the flood, and Yahweh sits as king forever.

¹⁰ Yahweh will reign forever, Your God, O Zion, _⌊throughout all generations_⌋.* Praise Yah.*

⁴⁴ And _⌊in the day of those kings_⌋,* the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will _⌊never_⌋* be destroyed, and the kingdom will not be left for another nation,* and it will bring an end to all these kingdoms, but it will stand _⌊forever_⌋.*

³ How great are his signs and wonders, how strong is his kingdom, _⌊an everlasting kingdom_⌋;* and his sovereignty is from generation to generation.

¹⁴ And to him was given dominion and glory and kingship that* all the peoples, the nations, and languages would serve him; his dominion is a dominion _⌊without end_⌋* that will not cease, and his kingdom is one that will not be destroyed.

²⁷ And the kingdom and the dominion and the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven will be given to the nation of the holy ones* of the Most High; his kingdom _⌊is an everlasting kingdom_⌋,* and all the dominions will serve and obey him.'

¹⁵ And the seventh angel blew the trumpet, and there was a loud voice in heaven saying,
"The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign _⌊forever and ever_⌋*." ¹⁶ And the twenty-four elders who are seated on their thrones before God fell down on their faces and worshiped God, ¹⁷ saying,
"We give thanks to you, Lord God All-Powerful, the one who is and the one who was, because you have taken your great power and have begun to reign.

²² And the _⌊Israelites_⌋* entered the middle of the sea on the dry land. The waters were a wall for them on their right and on their left. ²³ And the Egyptians gave chase* and entered after them—all the horses of Pharaoh, his chariots, and his charioteers—into the middle of the sea.

²⁸ And the waters returned and covered the chariots and the charioteers—all the army of Pharaoh coming after them into the sea. Not _⌊even_⌋* one survived among them. ²⁹ But the _⌊Israelites_⌋* walked on the dry land in the middle of the sea. The waters were a wall for them on their right and on their left.

³¹ A horse is prepared for the day of battle, but to Yahweh belongs the victory.

²⁹ By faith they crossed the Red Sea as if on dry land; the Egyptians, _⌊when they made the attempt_⌋*, were drowned.

⁴ And his sister stood at a distance to know what would be done to him.

¹ And Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses because of the Cushite woman whom he took (because he took a Cushite wife);

¹ Then the entire community of the _⌊Israelites_⌋* came to the desert of Zin on the first month, and the people stayed in Kadesh; Miriam died and was buried there.

⁵⁹ The name of the wife of Amram was Jochebed, the daughter of Levi, whose mother bore her for Levi in Egypt; she bore to Amram: Aaron and Moses and their sister Miriam.

⁴ Now at that time Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lappidoth, was judging* Israel.

³⁴ Jephthah came to Mizpah, to his house, and behold his daughter came out to meet him with tambourines and dancing. She was his only child; he did not have a son or daughter except her.

²¹ and watch and look; when the daughters of Shiloh dance in the dances, come out from the vineyards and seize for yourselves a wife from the daughters of Shiloh, and go to the land of Benjamin.

⁵ After this, you will come to the Gibeah of God,* where there are sentries* of the Philistines. _⌊Just as you enter_⌋* the town there, you will meet a procession of prophets coming down from the high place, with harp, tambourine, flute, and zither before them, and they will be prophesying.

⁶ _⌊When they were coming back_⌋* after David had returned from striking down the Philistine, the women went out from all the cities of Israel singing and dancing to meet King Saul with tambourines, with joy, and with three-stringed instruments.

⁵ Now David and all the house of Israel were dancing before Yahweh, with all kinds of musical instruments made from ash trees, and with zithers, harps, tambourines, sistrums, and cymbals.

¹⁴ Now David was dancing with all his might before Yahweh, and David was wearing* a linen ephod.

¹⁶ It happened that when the ark of Yahweh came into the city of David, Michal the daughter of Saul looked down through the window and saw King David leaping and dancing before Yahweh, and she despised him in her heart.

¹⁴ So Hilkiah the priest, Ahikam, Acbor, Shaphan, and Asaiah went to Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tikvah the son of Harhas, the keeper of the robes. Now she was living in Jerusalem in the second district. Then they spoke to her,

¹¹ You have turned my wailing into my dancing. You have removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy

¹¹ The Lord gives the word. Great is the company of women who announce:

²⁵ Singers went up front, those playing stringed instruments last, between them young women playing tambourines.

² Lift up a song and strike* the tambourine, the pleasant lyre, together with the harp.

³ Let them praise his name with dancing; let them sing praises to him with tambourine and lyre.

⁴ Praise him with tambourine and dancing; praise him with strings and flute.

⁴ For I brought you up from the land of Egypt, and from the house of slavery I redeemed you. And I sent Moses, Aaron, and Miriam before you.

³⁶ And there was a prophetess, Anna the daughter of Phanuel of the tribe of Asher (she was advanced _⌊in years_⌋,* having lived with her husband seven years _⌊after her marriage_⌋,*

⁹ (_⌊Now this man had_⌋* four virgin daughters who prophesied.)

⁵ but every woman who prays or prophesies with uncovered head dishonors her head, for she is one and the same with the one whose head is shaved.

³⁴ the women must be silent in the churches, for it is not permitted for them to speak, but they must be in submission, just as the law also says.

¹ Then Moses and the _⌊Israelites_⌋* sang this song to Yahweh, _⌊and they said_⌋,*
"Let me sing to Yahweh because he is highly exalted; the horse and its rider he hurled into the sea.

³ Hear, O kings! Give ear, O princes! I will sing to Yahweh; I will sing praise to Yahweh, the God of Israel.

⁷ And the women sang as they danced, and they said,
"Saul has struck down his thousands, but David his ten thousands!"

¹³ And it was the primary duty of the trumpeters and singers to make themselves heard with one voice, to praise and give thanks to Yahweh. And when a sound from the trumpets, cymbals, and other instruments of song was raised to Yahweh—for he is good, because his loyal love is everlasting—then the house, the house of Yahweh, was filled with a cloud.

⁷ Lift up your heads, O gates, and rise up, O ancient doorways, that the king of glory* may enter. ⁸ Who is the king of glory?* Yahweh, strong and mighty; Yahweh, mighty in war! ⁹ Lift up your heads, O gates, and lift up, O ancient doorways, that the king of glory* may enter. ¹⁰ Who is the king of glory?* Yahweh of hosts, He is the king of glory!* Selah

Look, bless Yahweh, all you the servants of Yahweh, who _⌊serve_⌋* in the house* of Yahweh by night. ² Lift up your hands in the sanctuary and bless Yahweh. ³ May Yahweh bless you from Zion, he who made heaven and earth.

I will remove its hedge, and it shall become a devastation. I will break down its wall, and it shall become a trampling. ⁶ And I will make it a wasteland; it shall not be pruned and hoed, and it shall be overgrown with briers* and thornbushes.* And concerning the clouds, I will command _⌊them not to send_⌋* rain down upon it. ⁷ For the vineyard of Yahweh of hosts is the house of Israel, and the man* of Judah is the plantation of his delight. And he waited for justice,* but look! Bloodshed!* For righteousness,* but look! A cry of distress!* ⁸ Ah! Those who _⌊join_⌋* house with house, they join field together with field until _⌊there is no place_⌋* and you are caused to dwell alone in the midst of the land. ⁹ Yahweh of hosts said in my ears:
_⌊Surely_⌋* many houses shall become a desolation, large and beautiful ones without inhabitant. ¹⁰ For ten acres of vineyard shall yield one bath,* and the seed of a homer will yield an ephah.* ¹¹ Ah! Those who rise early in the morning, they pursue strong drink. Those who linger in the evening, wine inflames them. ¹² And there will be lyre and harp, tambourine and flute, and wine at their feasts, but they do not look at the deeds* of Yahweh, and they do not see the work of his hands. ¹³ Therefore my people will go into exile without knowledge, and their* nobles* will be men of hunger, and their* multitude is parched with thirst. ¹⁴ Therefore Sheol has enlarged its throat, and it has opened wide its mouth without limit, and her* nobles* will go down, and her multitude, her tumult and those who revel in her. ¹⁵ And humankind is bowed down, and man is brought low, and the eyes of the haughty are humiliated. ¹⁶ But Yahweh of hosts is exalted by justice, and the holy God shows himself holy by righteousness. ¹⁷ And then the lambs will graze as in their pasture, and _⌊fatlings, kids* will eat among the sites of ruins._⌋* ¹⁸ Ah! Those who drag iniquity along with the cords of falsehood and sin as with rope of the cart, ¹⁹ those who say, "Let him make haste; let him hurry his work so that we may see it and let it draw near and let the plan of the holy one of Israel come so that we may know it!" ²⁰ Ah! Those who call evil good and good evil, those who put darkness for light and light for darkness, those who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! ²¹ Ah! Those who are wise in their own eyes and have understanding _⌊in their view_⌋!* ²² Ah! Heroes at drinking wine, and men of capability at mixing strong drink! ²³ Those who acquit the guilty because of a bribe and remove the justice of the innocent from him. ²⁴ Therefore as the tongue of fire devours the stubble, and dry grass sinks down in the flame, so their root will become like the stench, and their blossom will go up like the dust. For they have rejected the instruction of Yahweh of hosts, and they have treated the word of the holy one of Israel with contempt. ²⁵ Therefore _⌊Yahweh's wrath was kindled_⌋* against his people, and he stretched out his hand against them* and struck them,* and the mountains quaked, and their corpses* were like refuse in the middle of the streets. ²⁶ And he will raise a signal for a nation* from afar, and he will whistle for it from the end of the earth. And look! It comes quickly, swiftly! ²⁷ None is weary, and none among him stumbles; none slumbers and none sleeps. And no loincloth on his waist is opened, and no thong of his sandals is drawn away. ²⁸ Whose arrows are sharp, and all of his bows are bent. The hoofs of his horses are reckoned like flint, and his wheels like the storm wind. ²⁹ His roaring is like the lion, and he roars like young lions. And he growls and seizes his prey, and he carries it off, and not one can rescue it. ³⁰ And he will roar over him on that day like the roaring of the sea, and if one looks to the land, look! Darkness! Distress! And the light grows dark with its* clouds.

⁹ And they were singing a new song, saying,
"You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slaughtered, and bought people for God by your blood from every tribe and language and people and nation,

¹⁰ And they were crying out with a loud voice, saying,
"Salvation to our God who is seated on the throne, and to the Lamb!" ¹¹ And all the angels stood around the throne and the elders and the four living creatures, and they fell down on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, ¹² saying,
"Amen! Praise and glory, and wisdom and thanksgiving, and honor and power and strength be to our God _⌊forever and ever_⌋*. Amen!"

³ And they were singing something like a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders, and no one was able to learn the song except the one hundred forty-four thousand who had been bought from the earth.

⁷ And the angel of Yahweh found her at a spring of water in the wilderness, at the spring by the road of Shur.

¹⁸ They settled from Havilah to Shur, which was opposite* Egypt, going toward Asshur, opposite;* he _⌊settled_⌋* opposite* all his brothers.

¹⁸ And they will listen to your voice, and you will go, you and the elders of Israel, to the king of Egypt, and you will say to him, 'Yahweh, the God of the Hebrews has met with us, and now let us please go on a journey of three days into the desert, and let us sacrifice to Yahweh our God.'

⁷ Then Saul defeated the Amalekites from Havilah as one goes to Shur which is _⌊east of_⌋* Egypt.

⁸ They set out from Pi-Hahiroth and went through the midst of the sea into the desert; and they went a journey of three days into the desert of Etham and camped at Marah.

²⁰ And she said to them, "You should not call me Naomi; call me Mara, for Shaddai* has _⌊caused me to be very bitter_⌋.*

¹¹ And they said to Moses, "Because there are no graves in Egypt? Is that why you have taken us to die in the desert? What is this you have done to us by bringing us out from Egypt!

² And all the community of the _⌊Israelites_⌋* grumbled against Moses and against Aaron in the desert.

⁸ And Moses said, "When in the evening Yahweh gives you meat to eat and bread in the morning _⌊to fill up on_⌋,* _⌊for he hears_⌋* your grumblings that you grumble against him—and what are we? Your grumblings are not against us but against Yahweh." ⁹ And Moses said to Aaron, "Say to all the community of the _⌊Israelites_⌋,* 'Come near before Yahweh because he has heard your grumblings.'"

³ And the people thirsted for water, and the people grumbled against Moses and said, "Why _⌊ever_⌋* did you bring us up from Egypt to kill me* and my sons and my cattle with thirst?" ⁴ And Moses cried out to Yahweh, saying, "What will I do with this people? A little longer and they will stone me."

¹ And it happened, the people were like those who _⌊complain of hardship_⌋* _⌊in the hearing_⌋* of Yahweh, and Yahweh _⌊became angry_⌋,* and the fire of Yahweh burned among them, and it consumed the edge of the camp. ² Then the people cried out to Moses, and Moses prayed to Yahweh, and the fire died down. ³ And he called the name of that place Taberah* because the fire of Yahweh burned among them. ⁴ The riff-raff that were in their midst _⌊had a strong desire_⌋;* and the _⌊Israelites_⌋* turned back and also wept, and they said, "Who will feed us meat? ⁵ We remember the fish that we ate in Egypt for nothing, the cucumber, melon, leek, the onions, and the garlic. ⁶ But now _⌊our strength is dried up_⌋;* there is nothing whatsoever except _⌊for the manna before us_⌋."*

¹ Then all the community _⌊lifted up their voices_⌋,* and the people wept during that night. ² And all the _⌊Israelites_⌋* grumbled against Moses and Aaron, and all the community said to them, "If only we had died in the land of Egypt or in this desert! ³ Why did Yahweh bring us into this land to fall by the sword? Our wives and our little children will become plunder; would it not be better for us to return to Egypt?" ⁴ _⌊They said to each other_⌋,* "Let us appoint a leader, and we will return to Egypt."

¹¹ Therefore you and your company that has banded together against Yahweh. What is Aaron that you grumble against him?"

⁴¹ The next day all the community of the _⌊Israelites_⌋* grumbled against Moses and Aaron, saying, "You have killed the people of Yahweh!"

¹⁰ And Yahweh said to Moses, "Bring back the staff of Aaron before the testimony* as a guard and sign for the children of rebellion, and let them finish their grumblings before me and not die."

² There was no water for the community, and they were gathered before Moses and Aaron. ³ And the people quarreled with Moses and spoke, saying, "If only we died when our brothers were dying _⌊before_⌋* Yahweh! ⁴ Why have you brought the assembly of Yahweh, us and our livestock, into this desert to die here? ⁵ Why have you brought us from Egypt to bring us to this bad place? It is not a place of seed or figs* or vines* or pomegranate trees,* and there is not water to drink."

⁵ The people spoke against God and against Moses, "Why have you brought us from Egypt to die in the desert? There is no food and no water, and our hearts detest this miserable food."

¹⁹ And they spoke against God. They said, "Is God able to prepare a table in the wilderness? ²⁰ Yes, he struck the rock and water flowed and streams gushed out, but can he also give food or provide meat for his people?"

²⁵ "For this reason I say to you, do not be anxious for your life, what you will eat,* and not for your body, what you will wear. Is your life not more than food and your body more than clothing?

¹⁰ nor grumble, just as some of them grumbled, and were destroyed by the destroyer.

¹⁴ Do all things without grumbling and disputing,

¹⁶ These people are grumblers, discontented, proceeding according to their* desires, and their mouths speaking pompous words, _⌊showing partiality to gain an advantage_⌋*.

¹⁰ And Pharaoh approached, and the _⌊Israelites_⌋* lifted their eyes, and there were the Egyptians traveling after them! And they were very afraid, and the _⌊Israelites_⌋* cried out to Yahweh.

⁴ And Yahweh said to Moses, "Look, I am going to rain down for you bread from the heavens, and the people will go out and gather enough for the day on its day; in that way I will test them: Will they go according to my law or not?

⁴ And Moses cried out to Yahweh, saying, "What will I do with this people? A little longer and they will stone me."

² And you shall remember all of the way that Yahweh your God led you during these forty years in the desert in order to humble you and to test you to know what is in your heart, whether you would diligently keep his commandments or not.

¹⁶ the one _⌊feeding you_⌋* manna in the desert, food that your ancestors* did not know, in order to humble you and in order to test you so that he could do good to you _⌊in the future_⌋.*

³ you must not listen to the words of that prophet or to that dreamer, for Yahweh your God _⌊is testing you to know whether you love_⌋* Yahweh your God with all of your heart and with all of your inner self.*

²¹ And the people said to Joshua, "No, we will serve Yahweh." ²² And Joshua said to the people, "You are witnesses against yourselves that you have chosen for yourselves to serve Yahweh." And they said, "We are witnesses." ²³ He said, "Remove the foreign gods that are in your midst, and incline your hearts to Yahweh the God of Israel." ²⁴ And the people said to Joshua, "We will serve Yahweh our God, and we will listen to his voice." ²⁵ So Joshua _⌊made a covenant_⌋* with the people on that day, and he established for them a statute and a judgment at Shechem.

²² in order to test Israel whether or not they would observe the way of Yahweh, to walk in it just as their ancestors* did."

¹ These are the nations that Yahweh left, to test Israel by them (that is, to test all those who _⌊had not experienced_⌋* any of the wars of Canaan,

⁴ They were left for testing Israel, to know whether they would keep the commands of Yahweh that he commanded their ancestors* through the hand of Moses.

²¹ Then he went out to the spring of waters and threw the salt into it there and said, "Thus says Yahweh, 'I hereby purify these waters; let there be no longer any death or unproductiveness from it.'"

⁴¹ Then he said, "Bring some flour," and he threw it into the pot. He then said, "Serve the people and let them eat." There was nothing harmful in the pot.

¹⁵ And call me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will glorify me."

¹⁰ For you have tested us, O God; you have tried us as silver is tried.

⁷ In this* trouble you called, and I rescued you. Within the secret place of thunder I answered you; I tested you at the waters of Meribah. Selah

¹⁵ He will call upon me and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue and honor him.

⁶ Moses and Aaron were among his priests; Samuel also was among those who called on his name. They called to Yahweh, and he answered them.

³ A crucible is for the silver, and a furnace is for the gold, but Yahweh will test hearts.

⁷ Therefore, thus says Yahweh of hosts:
"Look, I am about to refine them, and I will test them, for what else can I do, because of the _⌊presence_⌋* of the daughter of my people?

¹ Then Yahweh said to me, "Even if Moses and Samuel stood _⌊before me_⌋,* my heart would not be to this people. Send them away from my _⌊sight_⌋,* and let them go out.

¹⁸ For the message about the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

⁶ in which you rejoice greatly, although* now for a short time, if necessary,* you are distressed by various trials, ⁷ so that the genuineness of your faith, more valuable than gold that is passing away, but is tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ,

¹⁰ And they took the soot of the smelting furnace, and they stood before Pharaoh, and Moses sprinkled it toward the heavens, and it became skin sores sprouting blisters on humans and on animals. ¹¹ And the magicians were not able to stand before Moses because of the skin sores, for the skin sores were on the magicians and on all the Egyptians.

²⁹ _⌊And_⌋* in the middle of the night, Yahweh struck all of the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh sitting on his throne to the firstborn of the captive who was in the prison house and every firstborn of an animal.

²⁵ And you will serve Yahweh your God, and he will bless your bread and your water, and I will remove sickness from among you.

³ " 'If you walk in my statutes and you keep my commands and you do them,

¹³ I am Yahweh, your God who brought you out from the land of Egypt, from being their slaves; and I broke the bars of your yoke, and I caused you to walk erectly.

¹² "_⌊And then_⌋* because you listen to these regulations and you diligently keep and you do them, then Yahweh your God will maintain his* covenant and his* loyal love that he swore to your ancestors.* ¹³ And he will love you, and he will bless you, and he will multiply you, and he will bless the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your soil, your grain, your wine, and your olive oil, and newborn calves of your cattle, and the newborn lambs* of your flocks in the land that he swore to your ancestors* to give you.

¹⁵ And Yahweh will turn away from you all the illness and all the harmful diseases of Egypt that you experienced; he will not lay them on you, but he will lay them on all of those who hate you.

²⁸ _⌊Be careful to obey_⌋* all these things that I am commanding you, so that _⌊it will go well_⌋* for you and for your children after you _⌊forever_⌋,* because then you will be doing what is* good and right* in the eyes of Yahweh your God.

¹⁸ if you listen to the voice of Yahweh your God, to keep all of his commandments that I am commanding to you _⌊today_⌋* so as to do the right thing in the eyes of Yahweh your God."

¹ "And it will happen that if you indeed listen to the voice of Yahweh your God, _⌊to diligently observe_⌋* all his commandments that I am commanding you _⌊today_⌋,* then Yahweh your God will set you above all the nations of the earth. ² And all of these blessings shall come upon you, and _⌊they shall have an effect on you_⌋* if you listen to the voice of Yahweh your God: ³ "You will be blessed in the city, and you will be blessed in the field. ⁴ "Blessed will be the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your ground and the fruit of your livestock, _⌊the calf of your cattle and the lambs of your flock_⌋.* ⁵ "Blessed will be your basket and your kneading trough. ⁶ "Blessed will you be _⌊when you come in and blessed will you be when you go out_⌋.* ⁷ "Yahweh will cause your enemies _⌊who rise up against you to be defeated before you_⌋;* on one road* they shall come out against you, but on seven roads* they shall flee _⌊before you_⌋.* ⁸ Yahweh will command _⌊concerning you_⌋* the blessing to be in your barns and _⌊in all your endeavors_⌋;* and he will bless you in the land that Yahweh your God is giving to you. ⁹ Yahweh will establish you for _⌊himself_⌋* as a holy people as he has sworn to you, if you keep the commandments of Yahweh your God and you walk in his ways. ¹⁰ And all of the peoples of the earth shall see that _⌊by the name of Yahweh you are called_⌋,* and _⌊they shall fear you_⌋.* ¹¹ And _⌊Yahweh will make you successful and prosperous_⌋,* in the fruit of your womb and on the land that Yahweh swore to your ancestors* to give to you. ¹² Yahweh shall open for you his _⌊rich_⌋* storehouse, even the heavens, to give the rain for* your land in its time and to bless all of the work of your hand, and you will lend to many nations; you will not borrow from them. ¹³ And Yahweh shall make you* as head and not the tail, and you shall be only at the top of the nations, and you shall not be at the bottom, if you listen to the commandments of Yahweh your God that I am commanding you _⌊today_⌋* _⌊and diligently observe them_⌋.* ¹⁴ And you shall not turn aside from _⌊any of_⌋* the words that I am commanding you _⌊today_⌋* to the right or left by going after other gods to serve them. ¹⁵ "_⌊And then_⌋* if you do not listen to the voice of Yahweh your God _⌊by diligently observing_⌋* all of his commandments and his statutes that I am commanding you _⌊today_⌋,* then all of these curses shall come upon you, and they shall overtake you:

²⁷ "Yahweh shall afflict you with the boils of Egypt and with tumors and with the scurvy and with _⌊the skin rash that cannot be healed_⌋.*

⁵⁸ "If _⌊you do not diligently observe_⌋* all the words of this law written in this scroll by revering this glorious and awesome name, Yahweh your God,

⁶⁰ And he shall bring back upon you all the diseases of Egypt concerning which _⌊you were in dread_⌋* _⌊because of them_⌋.*

³³ because he has forsaken me, and they bowed down to Ashtoreth, the god of the Sidonians, to Chemosh, the god of Moab, and to Molech, the god of the _⌊Ammonites_⌋.* They did not walk in my ways to do right in my eyes, my ordinances, or my judgments, as did David his father.

³⁸ It shall be that if you listen to all that I command you and you walk in my ways and you do right in my eyes by keeping my statutes and my commandments, as David my servant did, then I will be with you, and I will build an enduring house for you as I built for David, and I will give Israel to you.

⁵ "Return; you must say to Hezekiah, the leader of my people, 'Thus says Yahweh the God of David your ancestor,* "I have heard your prayer and I have seen your tears. Look, I am about to heal you. On the third day you shall go up to the temple of Yahweh.

² He did right in the eyes of Yahweh, and he walked in all of the way of David his ancestor* and did not turn aside to the right or to the left.

¹⁸ for he himself* wounds, but* he binds up; he strikes, but* his hands heal.

³ Yahweh sustains him on his sick bed. In his illness, you _⌊restore to health_⌋.* ⁴ As for me, I said, "O Yahweh, be gracious to me. Heal me,* for I have sinned against you."

³ who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases,

³ He is the one who heals the brokenhearted, and binds up their wounds.

¹⁸ I have seen his ways, but* I will heal him; and I will lead him and give him and his mourners comfort as a recompense,

²² Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no healer there? Why, then, has the healing of the daughter of my people not been restored?

⁶ Look, I am going to bring healing and health to it, and I will heal them, and I will reveal to them abundance of peace and reliability.

⁵ And if a man is righteous and does justice and righteousness,

¹ Come, let us return to Yahweh; because it is he who has torn, and he will heal us; he has struck us down and will bind us up.

¹¹ Behold, we consider blessed those who have endured. You have heard about the patient endurance of Job, and you saw the outcome from the Lord, that the Lord is compassionate and merciful. ¹² Now above all, my brothers, do not swear either by heaven or by earth or by any other oath, but let your yes be yes and your no, no, in order that you may not fall under judgment. ¹³ Is anyone among you suffering misfortune? He should pray. Is anyone cheerful? He should sing praise. ¹⁴ Is anyone among you sick? He should summon the elders of the church and they should pray over him, anointing him with olive oil in the name of the Lord. ¹⁵ And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins _⌊he will be forgiven_⌋*. ¹⁶ Therefore confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous person accomplishes much.

⁹ They set out from Marah and came to Elim, and in Elim there were twelve springs of water and seventy palm trees, and they camped there.

³ And you will draw water from the wells of salvation in joy.

¹² And along the stream will go up on its banks _⌊from both sides_⌋* every tree _⌊producing food_⌋;* its leaf will not wither and it will not cease producing its fruit. _⌊Every month_⌋* it will bear early fruit, for its waters are going out from the sanctuary, and its fruit will be as food, and its leaf for healing."

¹⁷ because the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and will lead them to springs of living waters, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes."*

² in the middle of its street, and _⌊on both sides of the river_⌋* is the tree of life, producing twelve fruits—yielding its fruit according to every month—and the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations.
