¹ Then* Yahweh called to Moses and spoke to him from the tent of assembly, saying, ² "Speak to the _⌊Israelites_⌋,* and say to them, 'When a person* from you presents an offering to Yahweh, you shall present your offering from domestic animals, from the cattle* or from the flock.* ³ If his offering is a burnt offering from the cattle,* then he must present* an unblemished male; he must present it at the door of the tent of assembly for his acceptance _⌊before_⌋* Yahweh. ⁴ " 'He* must lay his hand on the head of the burnt offering and it will be accepted* for him in order to make atonement for him. ⁵ He* must slaughter _⌊the young bull_⌋* _⌊before_⌋* Yahweh, then* Aaron's sons, the priests, will present the blood and sprinkle the blood all around the altar that is at the door of the tent of assembly. ⁶ Then* he must remove the skin of the burnt offering and cut it into its pieces. ⁷ The sons of* Aaron the priest will put fire on the altar and arrange the wood on the fire. ⁸ Then* Aaron's sons, the priests, will arrange the pieces of meat,* the head, and the suet on the wood that is on the fire that is on the altar. ⁹ Then* he must wash its inner parts* and its lower leg bones with water, and the priest will turn into smoke the whole animal on the altar as a burnt offering by fire, as an appeasing fragrance for Yahweh. ¹⁰ " 'But if his offering is from the flock,* from the sheep or from the goats for a burnt offering, he must present* an unblemished* male. ¹¹ He* must slaughter it on the north side of the altar _⌊before_⌋* Yahweh; then* Aaron's sons, the priests, will sprinkle its blood all around the altar. ¹² Then* he must cut it into pieces along with its head and its suet; and the priest will arrange them on the wood that is on the fire that is on the altar. ¹³ Then* he must wash the inner parts* and the lower leg bones with water and the priest shall present the whole animal and will turn it* into smoke on the altar; it is a burnt offering by fire as an appeasing fragrance for Yahweh. ¹⁴ " 'But if his offering for Yahweh is a burnt offering from the birds, then he must present his offering from the turtledoves or from _⌊the young doves_⌋.* ¹⁵ The priest* will present it at the altar and must wring off its head and turn it into smoke on the altar, and its blood will be drained out on the wall* of the altar. ¹⁶ He* must remove its crop with its plumage and throw it to the east beside the altar on the place of the fatty ashes. ¹⁷ Then* he must tear it apart by its wings but must not sever it; then* the priest will turn it into smoke on the altar. It is a burnt offering by fire as an appeasing fragrance for Yahweh.'"

³ And Moses went up to God, and Yahweh called to him from the mountain, saying, "Thus you will say to the house of Jacob and you will tell the _⌊Israelites_⌋,*

¹ And to Moses he said, "Go up to Yahweh—you and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and seventy from the elders of Israel—and you will worship at a distance. ² And Moses _⌊alone_⌋* will come near to Yahweh, and they will not come near, and the people will not go up with him."

¹² And Yahweh said to Moses, "Come up to me on the mountain, and be there, and I will give you the tablets of stone and the law and the commandments that I have written to instruct them."

²² And I will meet you there, and I will speak with you from over the atonement cover, from between the two cherubim that are to be on the ark of the testimony—all that I will command you to the _⌊Israelites_⌋.*

⁴² It will be a burnt offering of continuity throughout your generations at the entrance of the tent of assembly before Yahweh, where I will meet with you to speak to you there.

⁷ And Moses took the tent and pitched it outside the camp far from the camp, and he called it the tent of assembly, _⌊and_⌋* all seeking Yahweh would go out to the tent of assembly, which was outside the camp.

³² And all the work of the tabernacle of the tent of assembly was finished, and the _⌊Israelites_⌋* had done according to all that Yahweh had commanded Moses; so they did.

³⁴ And the cloud covered the tent of assembly, and the glory of Yahweh filled the tabernacle. ³⁵ And Moses was unable to go into the tent of assembly because the cloud settled on it and the glory of Yahweh filled the tabernacle.

⁸⁹ And when Moses came to the tent of assembly to speak with him,* he would hear the voice speaking to him from the atonement cover,* which is on the ark of the testimony, from between the two cherubim, and he would speak to him.

¹⁷ For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came about through Jesus Christ.

³ And _⌊in the course of time_⌋* Cain brought an offering from the fruit of the ground to Yahweh,

⁵ but to Cain and to his offering he did not look with favor. And Cain became very angry, and his face fell.

¹⁸ "Speak to Aaron and to his sons and to all the _⌊Israelites_⌋,* and say to them, 'Anyone from the house of Israel or* from the alien in Israel who presents his offering for any of their vows or* for any of their freewill offerings that they present to Yahweh as a burnt offering, ¹⁹ it must be without defect _⌊to be acceptable for you_⌋:* a male among the cattle, among the sheep, or* among the goats.

²⁹ Ascribe to Yahweh the glory of his name! Lift up an offering and come before him! Bow down to Yahweh in the splendor of holiness!

¹ Therefore I exhort you, brothers, through the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God, which is your reasonable service.

⁶ but having different gifts according to the grace given to us: if it is prophecy, according to the proportion of his faith;

² and live in love, just as also Christ loved us, and gave himself for us an offering and sacrifice to God for a fragrant smell.*

²⁰ And Noah built an altar to Yahweh, and he took from all the clean animals and from all the clean birds, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.

² And he said, "Take your son, your only child, Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains where* I will tell you."

⁸ And Abraham said, "_⌊God will provide_⌋* the lamb for a burnt offering, my son." And the two of them went together.

¹³ And Abraham lifted up his eyes and looked. And behold, a ram was caught in the thicket by his horns. And Abraham went and took the ram, and offered it as a burnt offering in place of his son.

⁵ The lamb for you must be a male, without defect, in its first year; you will take it from the sheep or from the goats.

⁵ And he sent young men from the _⌊Israelites_⌋,* and they offered burnt offerings, and they sacrificed sacrifices as fellowship offerings to Yahweh using bulls.

⁴ And you will bring Aaron and his sons to the entrance of the tent of assembly, and you will wash them with water.

¹⁸ And you will turn into smoke on the altar all of the ram; it is a burnt offering for Yahweh; it is a smell of appeasement, an offering by fire for Yahweh.

⁶ And they started early the next day, and they offered burnt offerings, and they presented fellowship offerings, and the people sat to eat and drink, and they rose up to revel.

⁵ 'Take from among you a contribution for Yahweh, anyone willing of heart, let him bring Yahweh's contribution—gold and silver and bronze,

²¹ And they came—every man whose heart lifted him and every man whose spirit impelled him—they brought Yahweh's contribution for the work of the tent of assembly and for all its service and for the holy garments.

²⁹ Every man and woman whose heart impelled them to bring for all the work to be done that Yahweh had commanded _⌊by the agency of_⌋* Moses—the _⌊Israelites_⌋* brought freely to Yahweh.

³ And they took from Moses all the contributions* that the _⌊Israelites_⌋* had brought for the work of the service for the sanctuary in order to do it, and they still brought to him voluntary offerings _⌊every morning_⌋.*

¹ And he made the burnt-offering altar of acacia wood; its length was five cubits, and its width was five cubits—it was square—and its height was three cubits.

¹ " 'Now if* his offering is a sacrifice of fellowship offering, if he brings it from the cattle,* whether male or female, he must bring it without defect before Yahweh.

²³ or his sin he has _⌊committed_⌋* is made known to him, he shall bring* _⌊a male goat_⌋* without defect as his offering.

⁹ "Command Aaron and his sons, saying, 'This is the regulation of the burnt offering: _⌊The burnt offering must remain on the hearth_⌋* on the altar all night until the morning, and the altar's fire must be kept burning on it. ¹⁰ And the priest shall put on his linen robe, and he must put his linen undergarments on his body, and he shall take away the fatty ashes of the burnt offering that the fire has consumed on the altar, and he shall place them* beside the altar. ¹¹ And he shall take off his garments and put on other garments, and he shall bring out the fatty ashes _⌊outside the camp_⌋* to a ceremonially clean place, ¹² but* the fire on the altar must be kept burning on it; it must not be quenched. And the priest must burn wood _⌊every morning_⌋* on it,* and he shall arrange the burnt offering on it,* and he shall turn into smoke the fat portions of the fellowship offerings on it.* ¹³ A perpetual fire must be kept burning on the altar; it must not be quenched.

¹⁶ " 'But* if his sacrifice is for a vow or as a freewill offering, it must be eaten on the day of his presenting his sacrifice, and on the next day the remainder* from it may be eaten,

¹⁸ Then* he brought the ram of the burnt offering near, and Aaron and his sons placed their hands on the ram's head,

²¹ but* he washed the inner parts* and the lower leg bones with water, and Moses turned into smoke all of the ram on the altar; it was a burnt offering as an appeasing fragrance, an offering made by fire for* Yahweh, just as Yahweh had commanded Moses.

⁷ And he shall take the two goats, and he shall present them _⌊before_⌋* Yahweh at the tent of assembly's entrance.

⁴ and he does not bring it to the tent of assembly's entrance to present an offering to Yahweh _⌊before_⌋* Yahweh's tabernacle, then* that man shall be accounted bloodguilty—he has poured out blood, and that man shall be cut off from the midst of his people.

⁹ and he does not bring it to the tent of assembly's entrance to _⌊sacrifice_⌋* it for Yahweh, then* that man shall be cut off from his people.

¹⁹ it must be without defect _⌊to be acceptable for you_⌋:* a male among the cattle, among the sheep, or* among the goats. ²⁰ You shall not present any animal in which is a physical defect, because it shall not be _⌊acceptable_⌋* for you. ²¹ And if anyone brings a sacrifice of fellowship offerings for Yahweh to fulfill a vow or as a freewill offering from* the cattle or from* the flock,* it must be without defect _⌊to be acceptable_⌋;* there must not be any physical defect in it. ²² The blind or the injured or the maimed or the seeping or one with a skin disorder or one with a skin eruption—these you shall not present to Yahweh, nor shall you give from them an offering made by fire on the altar for Yahweh. ²³ As for* an ox or sheep that is deformed or* that is stunted, you may present it as a freewill offering, but* for a vow it will not be accepted. ²⁴ And you shall not present anything for Yahweh with bruised or* shattered or* torn or* cut-off testicles, and you shall not _⌊sacrifice_⌋* such in your land.

³ And Balaam said to Balak, "Station yourself at your burnt offering, and I will go; perhaps Yahweh will come to meet me, and whatever he shows me I will tell to you." So he went to a barren height.

¹⁰ Who can count the dust of Jacob, or as a number the fourth part of Israel? Let my life die the death of an upright person, and let my end be like his!" ¹¹ And Balak said to Balaam, "What have you done to me? I took you to curse my enemies, and look, you have surely blessed them!"

¹⁹ God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of humankind, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? And has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?

²³ Because there is no sorcery against Jacob, and there is no divination against Israel. Now* it will be said to Jacob and Israel, what God has done! ²⁴ Look! the people will rise like the lion; he raises himself and will not lie down until he eats the prey and drinks the blood of the slain."

²⁷ Then Balak said to Balaam, "Please, come, I will take you to another place; perhaps _⌊it will be acceptable to_⌋* God, and you will curse for me from there."

³⁰ Balak did just as Balaam said, and he offered a bull and a ram on each altar.

⁸ You will present a burnt offering for Yahweh, a fragrance of appeasement: one bull, one ram, seven male lambs _⌊in their first year_⌋;* they will be without defect. ⁹ And their grain offering will be of finely milled flour mixed with oil: three-tenths for the bull, two-tenths for the one ram, ¹⁰ one-tenth for each of the seven male lambs; ¹¹ one male goat for a sin offering, in addition to the sin offering of atonement and the continual burnt offering and its grain offering, and their libations.

¹³ You will present a burnt offering, an offering made by fire as a fragrance of appeasement for Yahweh: thirteen bulls, two rams, fourteen male lambs _⌊in their first year_⌋;* they will be without defect.

⁵ _⌊But only_⌋* to the place that Yahweh your God will choose from all of your tribes to place his name there as his dwelling shall you seek, and there you shall go. ⁶ And you shall bring there your burnt offerings and your sacrifices and your tithes and _⌊your donations_⌋* and your votive gifts and your freewill offerings and the firstling of your herd and your flock.

¹³ "Take care for yourself so that you do not offer your burnt offerings at just any place that you happen to see, ¹⁴ _⌊but only_⌋* at the place that Yahweh will choose among one of your tribes; there you shall offer your burnt offerings, and there you shall do all the things that I am commanding you.

²⁷ And you shall offer your burnt offerings, the flesh and the blood on the altar of Yahweh your God, and the blood of your sacrifices you shall pour out on the altar of Yahweh your God, but the meat you may eat.

²¹ But if there is a physical defect in it, such as lameness or blindness, any serious defect, you shall not sacrifice it to Yahweh your God.

¹ "You shall not sacrifice to Yahweh your God an ox or sheep _⌊that has a physical defect_⌋* _⌊of anything seriously wrong_⌋,* for that is a detestable thing to Yahweh your God.

⁸ 'I delight to do your will, O my God, and your law is _⌊deep within me_⌋.'"*

³ Your people _⌊will volunteer_⌋* in the day of your power.* In holy splendor, from the womb of the dawn, you will have the dew of your youth.*

¹¹ What is the abundance of your sacrifices to me? says Yahweh. I have had enough of burnt offerings of rams and the fat of fattened animals and I do not delight in the blood of bulls and ram-lambs and goats.

⁴⁰ "For on _⌊my holy mountain_⌋,* on the mountain of the height of Israel," _⌊declares_⌋* the Lord Yahweh, "there all of the house of Israel will serve me, all of them,* in the land. I will take pleasure in them, and there I will accept your contributions and the best of your portions with all of your holy objects.

⁷ "O sword, awake against my shepherd, against the man who is my associate," _⌊declares_⌋* Yahweh of hosts. "Strike the shepherd, so that the sheep* may be scattered, and I will turn my hand against the small ones.

¹⁴ "Cursed is the one who cheats, who has in his flock a male and vows it, but instead sacrifices a blemished one to the Lord! For I am a great king," says Yahweh of hosts, "and my name is awesome among the nations."

³⁵ And the angel answered and* said to her,
"The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore also the one to be born will be called holy, the Son of God. ³⁶ and looking at Jesus as he* was walking by, he said, "Look! The Lamb of God!"

⁷ Then Jesus said to them* again, "Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.

⁹ I am the door. If anyone enters through me, he will be saved, and will come in and will go out and will find pasture.

¹² For if the eagerness is present _⌊according to what one has_⌋*, it is acceptable not _⌊according to what one does not have_⌋*.

⁷ Each one should give as he has decided in his heart, not _⌊reluctantly_⌋* or from compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

¹⁸ because through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father.

²⁷ in order that he might present to himself the church glorious, not having a spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she may be holy and blameless.

²⁶ For a high priest such as this indeed is fitting for us, holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners, and having become exalted above the heavens,

¹⁴ how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, cleanse our consciences from dead works to serve the living God?

⁸ When he says above,
"Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and offerings for sin you did not want, nor did you delight in,"*
which are offered according to the law, ⁹ then he has said,
"Behold, I have come to do your will."*
He takes away the first in order to establish the second, ¹⁰ by which will we are made holy through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

¹⁸ because you* know that you were redeemed from your futile way of life inherited from your ancestors not with perishable things like silver or gold, ¹⁹ but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of an unblemished and spotless lamb

¹⁰ "And you will bring the bull before the tent of assembly, and Aaron and his sons will lay their hands on the head of the bull.

¹⁵ "And you will take the one ram, and Aaron and his sons will lay their hands on the head of the ram.

¹⁹ "And you will take the second ram, and Aaron and his sons will lay their hands on the head of the ram.

² He* must lay his hand on the head of his offering and slaughter it at the entrance of the tent of assembly, and Aaron's sons shall sprinkle the blood on the altar all around.

⁸ and he shall lay his hand on the head of his offering, and he shall slaughter it before the tent of assembly, and Aaron's sons shall sprinkle its blood on the altar all around.

¹³ and he shall lay his hand on the head of his offering, and he shall slaughter it before the tent of assembly, and Aaron's sons shall sprinkle its blood on the altar all around.

⁴ He shall bring* the bull to the tent of assembly's entrance before Yahweh, place* his hand on the bull's head, and slaughter the bull before Yahweh.

¹⁵ And the elders of the community shall place their hands on the bull's head before Yahweh, and he* shall slaughter the bull before Yahweh.

²⁰ He shall do* to the bull _⌊just as_⌋* he did to the sin offering's bull, so he must do to it. The priest* shall make atonement for them, and _⌊they will be forgiven_⌋.*

²⁴ He shall place* his hand on the he-goat's head and slaughter it in the place where he slaughtered the burnt offering before Yahweh; it is a sin offering.

²⁶ He* must turn all of its fat into smoke on the altar like the fat of the fellowship offerings' sacrifice, and the priest shall make atonement for him _⌊because of_⌋* his sin, and _⌊he will be forgiven_⌋.*

²⁹ He shall place* his hand on the sin offering's head and slaughter the sin offering in the place of the burnt offering.

³¹ He* must remove all of its fat _⌊just as_⌋* the fat was removed from* the fellowship offerings' sacrifice, and the priest shall turn it into smoke on the altar as an appeasing fragrance for Yahweh. The priest* shall make atonement for him, and _⌊he will be forgiven_⌋.*

³⁵ He must remove* all of its fat _⌊just as_⌋* the lamb's fat from the fellowship offerings' sacrifice was removed, and the priest shall turn them into smoke on the altar upon Yahweh's offerings made by fire; and the priest shall make atonement for him because of* his sin that he _⌊committed_⌋,* and _⌊he will be forgiven_⌋.'"*

⁶ and he shall bring his guilt offering to* Yahweh for his sin that he has _⌊committed_⌋:* a female from the flock,* a ewe-lamb or _⌊a she-goat_⌋,* as a sin offering, and the priest shall make atonement for him for* his sin.

⁷ and the priest shall make atonement for him _⌊before_⌋* Yahweh, and he shall be forgiven _⌊anything_⌋* from all that he might do _⌊by which he might incur guilt_⌋."*

¹⁴ Then* he brought forth the bull of the sin offering, and Aaron and his sons placed their hands on the head of the bull of the sin offering,

²² Then* he brought the second ram near, the ram of the consecration, and Aaron and his sons placed their hands on the ram's head,

⁷ Then* Moses said to Aaron, "Approach* the altar and _⌊sacrifice_⌋* your sin offering and your burnt offering, and make atonement for yourself and for the people. And _⌊sacrifice_⌋* the people's offering and make atonement for them, just as Yahweh has commanded."

²¹ And Aaron shall place his two hands on the living goat's head, and he shall confess over it all the _⌊Israelites_⌋'* iniquities and all their transgressions for all their sins, and he shall put them on the goat's head, and he shall send it* away into the desert _⌊with_⌋* a man standing ready.*

²⁴ And he shall wash his body with water in a holy place, and he shall put on his garments and go out and _⌊sacrifice_⌋* his burnt offering and the people's burnt offering, and so he shall make atonement for himself and for people.

²¹ And if anyone brings a sacrifice of fellowship offerings for Yahweh to fulfill a vow or as a freewill offering from* the cattle or from* the flock,* it must be without defect _⌊to be acceptable_⌋;* there must not be any physical defect in it.

²⁷ "When an ox or a sheep or a goat is born, then* it shall be under its mother for seven days, and from the eighth day and beyond it is acceptable as an offering made by fire for Yahweh.

¹² And the Levites will lay their hands on the head of the one bull and offer it as a sin offering and the other one as a burnt offering to Yahweh, to make atonement for the Levites.

²⁵ The priest will make atonement for all of the community of the _⌊Israelites_⌋,* and _⌊they will be forgiven_⌋* because it was unintentional; they will bring their offering, an offering made by fire for Yahweh, their sin offering _⌊before Yahweh_⌋* for their unintentional sin.

²⁸ And the priest will make atonement for the person who _⌊sinned unintentionally_⌋* _⌊before Yahweh_⌋,* to make atonement for him, and he will be forgiven.

¹³ and it will be for him and his _⌊offspring_⌋* after him a covenant of an eternal priesthood because he was jealous for his God and made atonement for the _⌊Israelites_⌋.'"*

²³ Then they brought the goats of the sin offering before the king and the assembly, and they laid hands upon them. ²⁴ And the priest killed them and offered their blood against the altar to make atonement for all Israel, for the king had commanded the burnt offering and the sin offering for all Israel.

⁴ However, he was the one who lifted up our sicknesses, and he carried our pain, yet* we ourselves assumed him stricken, struck down by God and afflicted. ⁵ But* he was pierced* because of our transgressions, crushed because of our iniquities; the chastisement for* our peace* was upon him, and by his wounds* _⌊we were healed_⌋.* ⁶ All of us have wandered about like sheep; we each have turned to his own way; and Yahweh let fall on him the iniquity of us all.

⁷ I will bring them to _⌊my holy mountain_⌋;* I will make them merry in my house of prayer. their burnt offerings and their sacrifices _⌊will be accepted_⌋* on my altar, for my house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples,"

²⁴ "Seventy weeks is decreed for your people and _⌊for your holy city_⌋,* to put an end to the transgression and to seal up sin* and to make atonement for guilt and to bring in everlasting righteousness and to seal vision and prophet and to anoint _⌊the most holy place_⌋.*

²⁵ whom God made publicly available as the mercy seat* through faith in his blood, for a demonstration of his righteousness, because of the passing over of previously committed sins,

¹¹ And not only this, but also we are boasting in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.

²⁰ Therefore we are ambassadors on behalf of Christ, as if* God were imploring you through us. We beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. ²¹ He made the one who did not know sin to be sin on our behalf, in order that we could become the righteousness of God in him.

¹⁸ But I have received everything in full and have an abundance; _⌊I am well supplied_⌋* because* I received from Epaphroditus _⌊what you had sent_⌋*, a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice, well-pleasing to God.

⁴ For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.

² and he* is the propitiation* for our sins, and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

⁶ And Moses took half of the blood, and he put it in bowls, and half of the blood he sprinkled on the altar. ⁷ And he took the scroll of the covenant and read it in the hearing of the people, and they said, "All that Yahweh has spoken we will do, and we will listen."* ⁸ And Moses took the blood and sprinkled it on the people, and he said, "Look, the blood of the covenant that Yahweh has made with you in accordance with all these words."

¹⁶ And you will slaughter the ram and take its blood and sprinkle it on the altar all around.

¹¹ He* must slaughter it on the north side of the altar _⌊before_⌋* Yahweh; then* Aaron's sons, the priests, will sprinkle its blood all around the altar.

¹⁵ The priest* will present it at the altar and must wring off its head and turn it into smoke on the altar, and its blood will be drained out on the wall* of the altar.

¹⁵ "And he shall slaughter the sin offering's goat, which is for the people, and he shall bring its blood _⌊from behind_⌋* the curtain, and he shall do with its blood as that which he did with* the bull's blood, and he shall spatter it on the atonement cover and _⌊before_⌋* the atonement cover.

¹⁷ Only the firstborn of an ox or the firstborn of a sheep or the firstborn of a goat you will not redeem; they are holy. Their blood you will sprinkle over the altar, and their fat you will turn into smoke as an offering made by fire, a fragrance of appeasement for Yahweh.

²² And they slaughtered the cattle, and the priests received the blood and threw it toward the altar. Then they slaughtered the rams and threw the blood toward the altar, and then they slaughtered the lambs and threw the blood toward the altar.

¹¹ And they slaughtered the Passover lamb, and the priests sprinkled the blood from their hand, and the Levites flayed the sacrifices.

¹⁵ so he shall sprinkle many nations; because of him, kings shall shut their mouths.* For they shall see what has not been told them, and they shall consider with full attention what they have not heard.

²⁵ And I will sprinkle on you pure water, and you will be clean from all of your uncleanness, and I will cleanse you from all of your idols.

⁶ With what shall I approach Yahweh, and bow down to God on high? Shall I approach him with burnt offerings, with bull calves a year old?

¹¹ And every priest stands every day serving and offering the same sacrifices many times, which are never able to take away sins.

²⁴ and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and _⌊to the sprinkled blood_⌋* that speaks better than Abel's does.

² according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, by the sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience and for sprinkling with the blood of Jesus Christ. May grace and peace be multiplied to you.

²¹ And Yahweh God made for Adam* and for his wife garments of skin, and he clothed them.

⁸ " 'And* the priest who presents _⌊a person's_⌋* burnt offering, to that* priest _⌊belongs_⌋* the skin of the burnt offering that he presented.

⁹ And they came to the place that God had told him. And Abraham built an altar there and arranged the wood. Then he bound Isaac his son and placed him on the altar atop the wood.

²⁴ Then* a fire went out _⌊from before_⌋* Yahweh, and it consumed the burnt offering and the fat portions on the altar. And all the people saw it, so* they shouted for joy, and they fell on their faces.

²⁶ Then David built an altar there to Yahweh, and he offered burnt offerings and peace offerings, and he called to Yahweh. And he answered him with fire from heaven upon the altar of burnt offering.

¹ And when Solomon finished praying, then fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices, and the glory of Yahweh filled the house.

³¹ a contribution of the wood offering at appointed times, and for the first fruits. Remember me, my God, for good.

¹⁰ "Who also among you will shut the temple doors so that you will not kindle fire in vain on my altar? I take no pleasure in you," says Yahweh of hosts, "and _⌊I will not accept_⌋* an offering from your hand.

¹⁷ And you will cut the ram into pieces and wash its inner parts, and you will put its legs with its pieces and with its head. ¹⁸ And you will turn into smoke on the altar all of the ram; it is a burnt offering for Yahweh; it is a smell of appeasement, an offering by fire for Yahweh.

¹² Then* he must cut it into pieces along with its head and its suet; and the priest will arrange them on the wood that is on the fire that is on the altar.

¹⁸ Then* he brought the ram of the burnt offering near, and Aaron and his sons placed their hands on the ram's head, ¹⁹ and he slaughtered it. Then* Moses sprinkled the blood on the altar all around. ²⁰ Then* he cut the ram into pieces, and Moses turned into smoke the head and the pieces and the suet, ²¹ but* he washed the inner parts* and the lower leg bones with water, and Moses turned into smoke all of the ram on the altar; it was a burnt offering as an appeasing fragrance, an offering made by fire for* Yahweh, just as Yahweh had commanded Moses.

¹³ and they brought the burnt offering to him by its pieces, as well as* the head, and he turned them into smoke on the altar; ¹⁴ and he washed the inner parts* and the lower leg bones, then* he turned them into smoke upon the burnt offering on the altar.

²³ Let them give us two bulls, and let them choose for themselves one bull, cut him in pieces, and put it on the wood, but don't let them start a fire on it. I will prepare the other bull and set it on the wood, but I will put no fire on it.

³³ And he arranged the wood, cut the bull into pieces, and placed it on the wood.* Then he said, "Fill four jars with water, and pour it on the burnt offering and on the wood."

²¹ And Yahweh smelled the soothing fragrance, and Yahweh said _⌊to himself_⌋,* "_⌊Never again will I curse_⌋* the ground for the sake of humankind, because the inclination of the heart of humankind is evil from his youth. _⌊Nor will I ever again destroy_⌋* all life as I have done.

²⁵ And you will take them from their hand and turn them to smoke on the altar beside the burnt offering as a fragrance of appeasement before Yahweh; it is an offering made by fire before Yahweh.

¹³ Then* he must wash the inner parts* and the lower leg bones with water and the priest shall present the whole animal and will turn it* into smoke on the altar; it is a burnt offering by fire as an appeasing fragrance for Yahweh.

¹⁷ Then* he must tear it apart by its wings but must not sever it; then* the priest will turn it into smoke on the altar. It is a burnt offering by fire as an appeasing fragrance for Yahweh.'"

¹¹ The priest* shall turn it into smoke on the altar as a food offering made by fire for Yahweh.

¹⁴ and he washed the inner parts* and the lower leg bones, then* he turned them into smoke upon the burnt offering on the altar.

⁸ When you prepare _⌊a bull_⌋* as a burnt offering or a sacrifice to fulfill a vow or a fellowship offering for Yahweh, ⁹ you will present with _⌊the bull_⌋* a grain offering of three-tenths of finely milled flour mixed with half a liquid measure of oil, ¹⁰ and you will present half a liquid measure of wine as a libation, as an offering made by fire, a fragrance of appeasement for Yahweh.

⁶ Behold, you delight in truth in the inward parts, and in the hidden parts you make me to know wisdom.

¹⁵ Burnt offerings of fat animals I will offer to you, with the smoke of rams. I will do* cattle with rams. Selah

¹⁴ Cleanse your heart from wickedness, O Jerusalem, so that you may be saved. _⌊How long_⌋* will your thoughts of mischief dwell in your inner part?

²⁸ And I brought them to the land that _⌊I swore_⌋* to give* to them, and they saw every high hill and every leafy tree, and they offered their sacrifices, and they presented there the provocation of their offering, and they gave there their fragrant incense offering, and they poured out their libations there.

⁴¹ I will accept you as _⌊a fragrant incense offering_⌋* when I bring you out from the peoples and I gather you from the lands to which you were scattered, and I will show myself holy among you before the eyes of the nations.

²⁵ "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees—hypocrites!—because you cleanse the outside of the cup and the dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence! ²⁶ Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and the dish,* so that the outside of it may become clean also. ²⁷ "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees—hypocrites!—because you are like whitewashed tombs which on the outside appear beautiful, but on the inside are full of the bones of the dead and of everything unclean! ²⁸ In the same way, on the outside you also appear righteous to people, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.

¹⁵ For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing,

⁴ and Abel also brought an offering from _⌊the choicest firstlings of his flock_⌋.* And Yahweh looked with favor to Abel and to his offering,

² "Speak to the _⌊Israelites_⌋,* and say to them, 'When a person* from you presents an offering to Yahweh, you shall present your offering from domestic animals, from the cattle* or from the flock.* ³ If his offering is a burnt offering from the cattle,* then he must present* an unblemished male; he must present it at the door of the tent of assembly for his acceptance _⌊before_⌋* Yahweh.

¹⁹ it must be without defect _⌊to be acceptable for you_⌋:* a male among the cattle, among the sheep, or* among the goats.

⁶ All of us have wandered about like sheep; we each have turned to his own way; and Yahweh let fall on him the iniquity of us all. ⁷ He was oppressed and afflicted, yet* he did not open his mouth; he was brought like a lamb to the slaughter, and like a sheep is dumb before its shearers, so* he did not open his mouth.

²⁹ On the next day he saw Jesus coming to him and said, "Look! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

²² And he put the table in the tent of assembly on the north side of the tabernacle outside the curtain.

⁵ He* must slaughter _⌊the young bull_⌋* _⌊before_⌋* Yahweh, then* Aaron's sons, the priests, will present the blood and sprinkle the blood all around the altar that is at the door of the tent of assembly.

⁷ The sons of* Aaron the priest will put fire on the altar and arrange the wood on the fire. ⁸ Then* Aaron's sons, the priests, will arrange the pieces of meat,* the head, and the suet on the wood that is on the fire that is on the altar. ⁹ Then* he must wash its inner parts* and its lower leg bones with water, and the priest will turn into smoke the whole animal on the altar as a burnt offering by fire, as an appeasing fragrance for Yahweh.

²⁵ "Speak to Aaron and his sons, saying, 'This is the regulation of the sin offering: In the place where the sin offering is slaughtered, the sin offering must be slaughtered _⌊before_⌋* Yahweh; it is _⌊a most holy thing_⌋.*

² In the place where they slaughter the burnt offering,* they must slaughter the guilt offering,* and he* must sprinkle its blood upon the altar all around.

¹² Then* he slaughtered the burnt offering, and Aaron's sons brought the blood to him, and he sprinkled it on the altar all around;

⁵ And he said to me, "Son of man,* lift up now* your eyes _⌊toward the north_⌋."* And I lifted up my eyes _⌊toward the north_⌋,* and, look, there was to the north of the gate of the altar this image of jealousy at the entrance.

⁹ Then* he must wash its inner parts* and its lower leg bones with water, and the priest will turn into smoke the whole animal on the altar as a burnt offering by fire, as an appeasing fragrance for Yahweh.

⁹ And he said to him, "Take for me a three-year-old heifer, and a three-year-old female goat, and a three-year-old ram, and a turtledove and a young pigeon."

⁷ " 'If* _⌊he cannot afford a sheep_⌋,* he shall bring as his guilt offering for what he sinned two turtledoves or two _⌊young doves_⌋* for Yahweh, one for a sin offering and one for a burnt offering.

⁸ And if _⌊she cannot afford_⌋* a sheep,* then* she shall take two turtledoves or two _⌊young doves_⌋*—one as a burnt offering and one as a sin offering—and the priest shall make atonement for her, so that* she shall be clean.'"

²⁹ Take my yoke on you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

²⁴ and to offer a sacrifice according to what was stated in the law of the Lord, "a pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons."*

⁸ He shall bring* them to the priest, and he shall present that which is for the sin offering first, and the priest* shall wring its head off _⌊at the back of its neck_⌋,* but* he must not sever it, ⁹ and he shall spatter _⌊some of_⌋* the sin offering's blood on the altar's side, and the leftover blood must be drained out on the altar's base; it is a sin offering.

Answer me with the faithfulness of your salvation. ¹⁴ Deliver me from the mud and do not let me sink. Let me be delivered from those who hate me and from the watery depths. ¹⁵ Do not let the torrent of waters flood over me, or the deep swallow me, or the pit close its mouth over me. ¹⁶ Answer me, O Yahweh, because your loyal love is good; according to your abundant mercies, turn to me, ¹⁷ and do not hide your face from your servant. ¹ And it happened that when Jesus had finished all these sayings, he said to his disciples, ² "You know that after two days the Passover takes place, and the Son of Man will be handed over* in order to be crucified." ³ Then the chief priests and the elders of the people assembled in the palace of the high priest, who was named Caiaphas, ⁴ and plotted in order that they could arrest Jesus by stealth and kill him.* ⁵ But they were saying, "Not during the feast, so that there will not be an uproar among the people." ⁶ Now while* Jesus was at Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, ⁷ a woman came up to him holding an alabaster flask of very expensive perfumed oil, and poured it* out on his head while he* was reclining at table. ⁸ And when* the disciples saw it* they were indignant, saying, "_⌊Why_⌋* this waste? ⁹ For this could have been sold for a large sum and given to the poor!" ¹⁰ But Jesus, knowing this,* said to them, "Why do you cause trouble for the woman? ¹² he shall carry* all of the bull _⌊outside the camp_⌋* to a ceremonially clean place, to the fatty ashes' dump, and he shall burn it on wood in the fire; it must be burned up on the fatty ashes' dump.

¹⁰ And the priest shall put on his linen robe, and he must put his linen undergarments on his body, and he shall take away the fatty ashes of the burnt offering that the fire has consumed on the altar, and he shall place them* beside the altar. ¹¹ And he shall take off his garments and put on other garments, and he shall bring out the fatty ashes _⌊outside the camp_⌋* to a ceremonially clean place,

²⁷ And the sin offering's bull and the sin offering's goat, whose blood was brought to make atonement in the sanctuary, shall be brought _⌊outside the camp_⌋,* and they shall burn their hide and their flesh and their offal in the fire.

¹¹ For the bodies of those animals whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sins are burned up outside the camp. ¹² Therefore Jesus also suffered outside the gate, in order that he might sanctify the people by his own blood. ¹³ So we must go out to him outside the camp, bearing his reproach. ¹⁴ For here we do not have a permanent city, but we seek the city that is to come.

¹⁰ And he took for him all these and cut them in pieces down the middle. And he put each piece opposite _⌊the other_⌋,* but the birds he did not cut.

⁹ Then* he must wash its inner parts* and its lower leg bones with water, and the priest will turn into smoke the whole animal on the altar as a burnt offering by fire, as an appeasing fragrance for Yahweh. ¹⁰ " 'But if his offering is from the flock,* from the sheep or from the goats for a burnt offering, he must present* an unblemished* male.

⁸ He shall bring* them to the priest, and he shall present that which is for the sin offering first, and the priest* shall wring its head off _⌊at the back of its neck_⌋,* but* he must not sever it,

¹⁰ for you will not abandon my soul to Sheol; you will not give your faithful one to see the grave.

⁵⁰ And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice and* gave up his* spirit.

³⁰ Then when he had received the sour wine, Jesus said, "It is completed,"* and bowing his* head, he gave up his* spirit.

²⁵ who was handed over on account of our trespasses, and was raised up in the interest of our justification.*

⁶ you did not delight in whole burnt offerings and offerings for sins. ⁷ Then I said, 'Behold, I have come— in the roll of the book it is written about me— to do your will, O God.' ⁸ When he says above,
"Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and offerings for sin you did not want, nor did you delight in,"*
which are offered according to the law, ⁹ then he has said,
"Behold, I have come to do your will."*
He takes away the first in order to establish the second, ¹⁰ by which will we are made holy through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. ¹¹ And every priest stands every day serving and offering the same sacrifices many times, which are never able to take away sins. ¹² But this one, after he* had offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, sat down at the right hand of God,

¹⁵ Therefore through him let us offer up a sacrifice of praise _⌊continually_⌋* to God, that is, the fruit of lips that confess his name. ¹⁶ And do not neglect doing good and generosity, for God is pleased with such sacrifices.

¹⁹ but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of an unblemished and spotless lamb ²⁰ who was foreknown before the foundation of the world, but has been revealed in these last times for you ²¹ who through him are believing in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.

¹⁸ For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, in order that he could bring you to God, being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit,
