¹ And Yahweh said to Moses and to Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying, ² "This month will be the beginning of months; it will be for you the first of the months of the year. ³ Speak to all the community of Israel, saying, 'On the tenth of this month, they will each take for themselves _⌊a lamb for the family_⌋,* a lamb for the household. ⁴ And if the household is too small for a lamb, he and the neighbor nearest to his house will take one according to the number of persons;* you will count out portions of the lamb _⌊according to how much each one can eat_⌋.* ⁵ The lamb for you must be a male, without defect, in its first year; you will take it from the sheep or from the goats. ⁶ "_⌊You will keep it_⌋* until the fourteenth day of this month, and all the assembly of the community of Israel will slaughter it _⌊at twilight_⌋.* ⁷ And they will take some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel on the houses in which they eat it. ⁸ And they will eat the meat on this night; they will eat it fire-roasted and with unleavened bread on _⌊bitter herbs_⌋.* ⁹ You must not eat any of it raw or boiled, boiled in the water, but rather roasted with fire, its head with its legs and with its inner parts. ¹⁰ And you must not leave any of it until morning; anything left from it until morning you must burn in the fire. ¹¹ And this is how you will eat it—with your waists fastened, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand, and you will eat it in haste. It is Yahweh's Passover. ¹² "And I will go through the land of Egypt during this night, and I will strike all of the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from human to animal, and I will do punishments among all of the gods of Egypt. I am Yahweh. ¹³ And the blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are, and I will see the blood, and I will pass over you, and there will not be a destructive plague among you when I strike the land of Egypt. ¹⁴ "And this day will become a memorial for you, and you will celebrate it as a religious feast for Yahweh throughout your generations; you will celebrate it as a lasting statute. ¹⁵ You will eat unleavened bread for seven days. Surely on the first day you shall remove yeast from your houses, because anyone who eats food with yeast from the first day until the seventh day—that person will be cut off from Israel. ¹⁶ It will be for you on the first day a holy assembly* and on the seventh day a holy assembly;* no work will be done on them; only what is eaten by every person, it alone will be prepared for you. ¹⁷ "And you will keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread, because on this very day I brought out your divisions from the land of Egypt, and you will keep this day for your generations as a lasting statute. ¹⁸ On the first day, on the fourteenth day of the month, in the evening, you will eat unleavened bread until the evening of the twenty-first day of the month. ¹⁹ For seven days yeast must not be found in your houses, because _⌊anyone eating food with yeast_⌋* will be cut off from the community of Israel—whether an alien or a native of the land. ²⁰ You will eat no food with yeast; in all of your dwellings you will eat unleavened bread." ²¹ And Moses called all the elders of Israel, and he said to them, "Select and take for yourselves sheep for your clans and slaughter the Passover sacrifice. ²² And take a bunch of hyssop and dip it into the blood that is in the basin and apply some of the blood that is in the basin to the lintel and the two doorposts. And you will not go out, anyone from the doorway of his house, until morning. ²³ And Yahweh will go through to strike Egypt, and he will see the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, and Yahweh will pass over the doorway and will not allow the destroyer to come to your houses to strike you. ²⁴ "And you will keep this event as a rule for you and for your children forever.* ²⁵ _⌊And_⌋* when you come into the land that Yahweh will give to you, as he said, you will keep this _⌊religious custom_⌋.* ²⁶ _⌊And_⌋* when your children say to you, 'What is this _⌊religious custom_⌋* for you?'* ²⁷ you will say, 'It is a Passover sacrifice for Yahweh, who passed over the houses of the _⌊Israelites_⌋* in Egypt when he struck Egypt; and he delivered our houses.'" And the people knelt down and they worshiped. ²⁸ And the _⌊Israelites_⌋* went, and they did as Yahweh had commanded Moses and Aaron; so they did. ²⁹ _⌊And_⌋* in the middle of the night, Yahweh struck all of the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh sitting on his throne to the firstborn of the captive who was in the prison house and every firstborn of an animal. ³⁰ And Pharaoh got up at night, he and all his servants and all Egypt, and a great cry of distress was in Egypt because there was not a house where there was no one dead. ³¹ And he called Moses and Aaron at night, and he said, "Get up, go out from the midst of my people, both you as well as the _⌊Israelites_⌋,* and go, serve Yahweh, as you have said. ³² Take both your sheep and goats as well as your cattle, and go, and bless also me." ³³ And the Egyptians urged the people in order to hurry their release* from the land, because they said, "All of us will die!"* ³⁴ And the people lifted up their dough before it had yeast; their kneading troughs were wrapped up in their cloaks on their shoulder. ³⁵ And the _⌊Israelites_⌋* did according to the word of Moses, and they asked from the Egyptians for objects of silver and objects of gold and for clothing. ³⁶ And Yahweh gave the people favor in the eyes of the Egyptians, and they granted their requests, and they plundered the Egyptians. ³⁷ And the _⌊Israelites_⌋* set out from Rameses to Succoth; the men were about six hundred thousand on foot,* besides dependents. ³⁸ And also a _⌊mixed multitude_⌋* went up with them and sheep and goats and cattle, very numerous livestock. ³⁹ And they baked the dough that they had brought out from Egypt as cakes, unleavened bread, because it had no yeast when they were driven out from Egypt, and they were not able to delay, and also they had not made provisions for themselves. ⁴⁰ And the period of dwelling of the _⌊Israelites_⌋* that they dwelled in Egypt was four hundred and thirty years. ⁴¹ And at the end of four hundred and thirty years, on this exact day, all of Yahweh's divisions went out from the land of Egypt. ⁴² It is a night of vigils* belonging to Yahweh for bringing them out from the land of Egypt; it is this night belonging to Yahweh with vigils for all of the _⌊Israelites_⌋* throughout their generations. ⁴³ And Yahweh said to Moses and Aaron, "This is the statute of the Passover: No foreigner may eat it. ⁴⁴ But any slave of a man, an acquisition by money, and you have circumcised him, then he may eat it. ⁴⁵ A temporary resident and a hired worker may not eat it. ⁴⁶ It will be eaten in one house; you will not bring part of the meat out from the house to the outside; and you will not break a bone of it. ⁴⁷ All of the community of Israel will prepare it. ⁴⁸ And when an alien dwells with you and he wants to prepare the Passover for Yahweh, every male belonging to him must be circumcised, and then he may come near to prepare it, and he will be as the native of the land, but any uncircumcised man may not eat it. ⁴⁹ One law will be for the native and for the alien who is dwelling in your midst." ⁵⁰ And all the _⌊Israelites_⌋* did as Yahweh had commanded Moses and Aaron; so they did. ⁵¹ And it was on exactly this day Yahweh brought the _⌊Israelites_⌋* out from the land of Egypt by their divisions.

⁴ Today you are going out in the month of Abib.

¹⁵ You will keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread; for seven days you will eat unleavened bread, as I commanded you at the appointed time, the month of Abib, because in it you came out from Egypt, and _⌊no one will_⌋* appear before me empty-handed.

¹⁸ "You will keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread. Seven days you will eat unleavened bread, which I commanded you, at the appointed time of the month of Abib, for in the month of Abib you came out from Egypt.

⁵ In the first month, on the fourteenth of the month at the evening is Yahweh's Passover.

¹⁶ " 'On the fourteenth day of the first month is the Passover for Yahweh.

¹ "Observe the month of Abib, and you shall keep the Passover to Yahweh your God, for in the month of Abib Yahweh your God brought you out from Egypt by night.

⁷ In the first month, that is, the month of Nisan, in the twelfth year of King Ahasurus, he cast pur—that is, the lot—before the presence of Haman _⌊for the day and for the month_⌋,* until* the twelfth month, that is, the month of Adar.

⁴ and Abel also brought an offering from _⌊the choicest firstlings of his flock_⌋.* And Yahweh looked with favor to Abel and to his offering,

⁸ And Abraham said, "_⌊God will provide_⌋* the lamb for a burnt offering, my son." And the two of them went together.

³⁰ And Aaron spoke all the words that Yahweh had spoken to Moses, and he did the signs before the eyes of the people.

⁶ Therefore say to the _⌊Israelites_⌋,* 'I am Yahweh, and I will bring you out from under the _⌊forced labor_⌋* of Egypt, and I will deliver you from their slavery, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great punishments.

⁶ "_⌊You will keep it_⌋* until the fourteenth day of this month, and all the assembly of the community of Israel will slaughter it _⌊at twilight_⌋.*

¹⁵ And Yahweh said to Moses, "Why do you cry out to me? Speak to the _⌊Israelites_⌋* so that they set out.*

¹⁹ And they said to Moses, "You speak with us, and we will listen, but let not God speak with us, lest we die."

² "Speak to the _⌊Israelites_⌋,* and say to them, 'When a person* from you presents an offering to Yahweh, you shall present your offering from domestic animals, from the cattle* or from the flock.*

⁶ and he shall bring his guilt offering to* Yahweh for his sin that he has _⌊committed_⌋:* a female from the flock,* a ewe-lamb or _⌊a she-goat_⌋,* as a sin offering, and the priest shall make atonement for him for* his sin.

¹ Yahweh spoke to Moses in the desert of Sinai, in the tent of assembly, on the first of the month, in the second year _⌊after they came out_⌋* of the land of Egypt, saying, ² "_⌊Take a census of_⌋* the entire community of the _⌊Israelites_⌋* according to their clans and _⌊their families_⌋,* according to the number of names, every male individually ³ from _⌊twenty years old_⌋* and above, everyone in Israel who is able to go to war. You and Aaron must muster them* for their wars. ⁴ A man from each tribe will be with you, each man the head of _⌊his family_⌋.* ⁵ And these are the names of the men who will _⌊assist you_⌋:* from Reuben, Elizur son of Shedeur; ⁶ from Simeon, Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai; ⁷ from Judah, Nahshon son of Amminadab; ⁸ from Issachar, Nethanel son of Zuar; ⁹ from Zebulun, Eliab son of Helon. ¹⁰ From the descendants of Joseph: from Ephraim, Elishama son of Ammihud; from Manasseh, Gamaliel son of Pedahzur. ¹¹ From Benjamin, Abidan son of Gideoni; ¹² from Dan, Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai; ¹³ from Asher, Pagiel son of Ocran; ¹⁴ from Gad, Eliasaph son of Deuel; ¹⁵ and from Naphtali, Ahira son of Enan." ¹⁶ These are the ones summoned from the community, the leaders of their ancestors'* tribes; they are the heads of Israel's clans. ¹⁷ So Moses and Aaron took these men who had been designated by name, ¹⁸ and they summoned the entire community on the first day of the second month. And they registered themselves among their clans according to _⌊their families_⌋,* according to the number of names from _⌊those twenty years old_⌋* and above individually, ¹⁹ just as Yahweh commanded Moses. And he counted them in the desert of Sinai. ²⁰ The descendants of Reuben, the firstborn of Israel, their genealogies according to their clans, according to _⌊their families_⌋,* according to the number of names, every male individually from _⌊twenty years old_⌋* and above, everyone who is able to go to war: ²¹ those who were counted from the tribe of Reuben were forty-six thousand five hundred. ²² From the descendants of Simeon, their genealogies according to their clans, according to _⌊their families_⌋,* those who were counted according to the number of their names, every individual male from _⌊twenty years old_⌋* and above, everyone who is able to go to war: ²³ those who were counted from the tribe of Simeon were fifty-nine thousand three hundred. ²⁴ From the descendants of Gad, their genealogies according to their clans, according to _⌊their families_⌋,* according to the number of names, from _⌊those twenty years old_⌋* and above, everyone who is able to go to war: ²⁵ those who were counted from the tribe of Gad were forty-five thousand six hundred and fifty. ²⁶ From the descendants of Judah, their genealogies according to their clans, according to _⌊their families_⌋,* according to the number of names, from _⌊those twenty years old_⌋* and above, everyone who is able to go to war: ²⁷ those who were counted from the tribe of Judah were seventy-four thousand six hundred. ²⁸ From the descendants of Issachar, their genealogies according to their clans, according to _⌊their families_⌋,* according to the number of names, from _⌊those twenty years old_⌋* and above, everyone who is able to go to war: ²⁹ those who were counted from the tribe of Issachar were fifty-four thousand four hundred. ³⁰ From the descendants of Zebulun, their genealogies according to their clans, according to _⌊their families_⌋,* according to the number of names, from _⌊those twenty years old_⌋* and above, everyone who is able to go to war: ³¹ those who were counted from the tribe of Zebulun were fifty-seven thousand four hundred. ³² From the descendants of Joseph: from the descendants of Ephraim, their genealogies according to their clans, according to _⌊their families_⌋,* according to the number of names, from _⌊those twenty years old_⌋* and above, everyone who is able to go to war: ³³ those who were counted from the tribe of Ephraim were forty thousand five hundred. ³⁴ From the descendants of Manasseh, their genealogies according to their clans, according to _⌊their families_⌋,* according to the number of names, from _⌊those twenty years old_⌋* and above, everyone who is able to go to war: ³⁵ those who were counted from the tribe of Manasseh were thirty-two thousand two hundred. ³⁶ From the descendants of Benjamin, their genealogies according to their clans, according to _⌊their families_⌋,* according to the number of names, from _⌊those twenty years old_⌋* and above, everyone who is able to go to war: ³⁷ those who were counted from the tribe of Benjamin were thirty-five thousand four hundred. ³⁸ From the descendants of Dan, their genealogies according to their clans, according to _⌊their families_⌋,* according to the number of names, from _⌊those twenty years old_⌋* and above, everyone who is able to go to war: ³⁹ those who were counted from the tribe of Dan were sixty-two thousand seven hundred. ⁴⁰ From the descendants of Asher, their genealogies according to their clans, according to _⌊their families_⌋,* according to the number of names, from _⌊those twenty years old_⌋* and above, everyone who is able to go to war: ⁴¹ those who were counted from the tribe of Asher were forty-one thousand five hundred. ⁴² From the descendants of Naphtali, their genealogies according to their clans, according to _⌊their families_⌋,* according to the number of names, from _⌊those twenty years old_⌋* and above, everyone who is able to go to war: ⁴³ those who were counted from the tribe of Naphtali were fifty-three thousand four hundred. ⁴⁴ These are the ones counted whom Moses and Aaron mustered,* with the twelve leaders of Israel, each one from _⌊his family_⌋.* ⁴⁵ So all those who were counted from the _⌊Israelites_⌋* according to _⌊their families_⌋,* from _⌊those twenty years old_⌋* and above, everyone in Israel who is able to go to war. ⁴⁶ All of the ones counted were six hundred and three thousand, five hundred and fifty. ⁴⁷ The Levites from their ancestors'* tribe were not mustered* in their midst. ⁴⁸ And Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying, ⁴⁹ "You will not muster* the tribe of Levi, and you will not _⌊take a census of_⌋* them in the midst of the _⌊Israelites_⌋.* ⁵⁰ You will _⌊appoint_⌋* them over the tabernacle of the testimony,* over all its vessels, and over all that belongs to it. They will carry the tabernacle and all its vessels, and they will care for it; and they will camp around the tabernacle. ⁵¹ And when the tabernacle is set out, the Levites will _⌊take it down_⌋,* and when encamping the tabernacle the Levites will set it up; the stranger* that approaches it will be put to death. ⁵² The _⌊Israelites_⌋* will encamp, each in their own camp, and each by their* own banner according to their divisions. ⁵³ But the Levites will encamp around the tabernacle of the testimony,* and there will not be wrath on the community of the _⌊Israelites_⌋;* and the Levites will keep the requirements of the tabernacle of the testimony."* ⁵⁴ And the _⌊Israelites_⌋* did thus; they did everything that Yahweh commanded Moses.

¹¹ " 'This is how it should be done for each bull, or for the each ram, or for the small four-footed mammal, or ram-lambs, or goats.

¹⁴ In the morning you will come forward, _⌊tribe by tribe_⌋,* and the tribe that Yahweh will select by lot will come forward by clans, and the clan that Yahweh selects by lot will come forward by families, and the family that Yahweh selects by lot will come forward one by one.

⁹ So Samuel took a single _⌊nursing lamb_⌋* and sacrificed it as a whole burnt offering to Yahweh. Then Samuel cried out to Yahweh on behalf of Israel, and Yahweh answered him.

⁷ Then Josiah provided for the _⌊lay people_⌋* sheep, lambs, and young goats, all for the Passover for all who were found there, to the sum of thirty thousand, along with three thousand bulls. These were the possession of the king.

²⁹ On the next day he saw Jesus coming to him and said, "Look! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

³⁶ and looking at Jesus as he* was walking by, he said, "Look! The Lamb of God!"

¹ Then, six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus was, whom Jesus had raised from the dead.

¹² On the next day the large crowd who had come to the feast, when they* heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,

⁷ Clean out the old leaven in order that you may be a new batch of dough, just as you are unleavened. For Christ our Passover has been sacrificed.

⁶ And I saw in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures and in the midst of the elders a Lamb standing as though slaughtered, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent into all the earth. ⁷ And he came and took the scroll* from the right hand of the one who was seated on the throne. ⁸ And when he took the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each one of whom had a harp and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. ⁹ And they were singing a new song, saying,
"You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slaughtered, and bought people for God by your blood from every tribe and language and people and nation, ¹⁰ and made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they will reign on the earth." ¹¹ And I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne and of the living creatures and of the elders, and their number was ten thousand times ten thousand and thousands times thousands, ¹² saying with a loud voice,
"Worthy is the Lamb who was slaughtered to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!" ¹³ And I heard every creature that is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and in the sea and everything in them saying,
"To the one who is seated on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power* _⌊forever and ever_⌋*."

⁹ After these things I looked, and behold, a great crowd that no one was able to number, from every nation and tribe and people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, dressed in white robes and with palm branches in their hands. ¹⁰ And they were crying out with a loud voice, saying,
"Salvation to our God who is seated on the throne, and to the Lamb!" ¹¹ And all the angels stood around the throne and the elders and the four living creatures, and they fell down on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, ¹² saying,
"Amen! Praise and glory, and wisdom and thanksgiving, and honor and power and strength be to our God _⌊forever and ever_⌋*. Amen!" ¹³ And one of the elders answered, saying to me, "These who are dressed in the white robes—who are they, and from where have they come?" ¹⁴ And I said to him, "My lord, you know." And he said to me,
"These are the ones who have come out of the great tribulation, and have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

⁸ And all those who live on the earth will worship him, _⌊everyone whose name is not written_⌋* from the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who was slaughtered.

³ If his offering is a burnt offering from the cattle,* then he must present* an unblemished male; he must present it at the door of the tent of assembly for his acceptance _⌊before_⌋* Yahweh.

¹⁰ " 'But if his offering is from the flock,* from the sheep or from the goats for a burnt offering, he must present* an unblemished* male.

¹⁸ "Speak to Aaron and to his sons and to all the _⌊Israelites_⌋,* and say to them, 'Anyone from the house of Israel or* from the alien in Israel who presents his offering for any of their vows or* for any of their freewill offerings that they present to Yahweh as a burnt offering, ¹⁹ it must be without defect _⌊to be acceptable for you_⌋:* a male among the cattle, among the sheep, or* among the goats. ²⁰ You shall not present any animal in which is a physical defect, because it shall not be _⌊acceptable_⌋* for you. ²¹ And if anyone brings a sacrifice of fellowship offerings for Yahweh to fulfill a vow or as a freewill offering from* the cattle or from* the flock,* it must be without defect _⌊to be acceptable_⌋;* there must not be any physical defect in it. ²² The blind or the injured or the maimed or the seeping or one with a skin disorder or one with a skin eruption—these you shall not present to Yahweh, nor shall you give from them an offering made by fire on the altar for Yahweh. ²³ As for* an ox or sheep that is deformed or* that is stunted, you may present it as a freewill offering, but* for a vow it will not be accepted. ²⁴ And you shall not present anything for Yahweh with bruised or* shattered or* torn or* cut-off testicles, and you shall not _⌊sacrifice_⌋* such in your land.

¹² And on the day of your waving the sheaf you shall _⌊offer_⌋* a _⌊yearling_⌋* male lamb without defect as a burnt offering to Yahweh.

¹ "You shall not sacrifice to Yahweh your God an ox or sheep _⌊that has a physical defect_⌋* _⌊of anything seriously wrong_⌋,* for that is a detestable thing to Yahweh your God.

¹ Saul was thirty* _⌊years old_⌋* at the beginning of his reign, and he reigned forty-two years* over Israel.

⁷ You are presenting defiled food on my altar! But you ask, 'How have we defiled you?' By saying that the table of Yahweh is despised! ⁸ When you offer a blind animal for sacrifice, is that not wrong?* And when you offer the lame and the one who is ill, is that not wrong?* Present it, please, to your governor! Will he be pleased with you? _⌊Will he show you favor_⌋?"* says Yahweh of hosts.

¹⁴ "Cursed is the one who cheats, who has in his flock a male and vows it, but instead sacrifices a blemished one to the Lord! For I am a great king," says Yahweh of hosts, "and my name is awesome among the nations."

²⁶ For a high priest such as this indeed is fitting for us, holy, innocent, undefiled, separated from sinners, and having become exalted above the heavens,

¹³ For if the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a young cow sprinkled on those who are defiled sanctify them for the ritual purity of the flesh, ¹⁴ how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, cleanse our consciences from dead works to serve the living God?

¹⁸ because you* know that you were redeemed from your futile way of life inherited from your ancestors not with perishable things like silver or gold, ¹⁹ but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of an unblemished and spotless lamb

¹⁸ On the first day, on the fourteenth day of the month, in the evening, you will eat unleavened bread until the evening of the twenty-first day of the month.

¹² "I have heard the grumblings of the _⌊Israelites_⌋.* Speak to them, saying, '_⌊At twilight_⌋* you will eat meat, and in the morning you will be full with bread, and you will know that I am Yahweh your God.'"

¹ Yahweh spoke to Moses in the desert of Sinai, in the second year after they came out from the land of Egypt, in the first month, saying, ² "Let the _⌊Israelites_⌋* observe the Passover at its appointed time. ³ On the fourteenth day of this month _⌊at twilight_⌋* you will perform it at its appointed time according to all its decrees; and according to all its stipulations you will observe it."

¹¹ On the second month on the fourteenth day _⌊at twilight_⌋* they will observe it; they will eat it with unleavened bread and bitter plants.

¹⁸ On the first day there will be a holy convocation; _⌊you will not do any regular work_⌋.*

¹ "Observe the month of Abib, and you shall keep the Passover to Yahweh your God, for in the month of Abib Yahweh your God brought you out from Egypt by night. ² And you shall offer the Passover sacrifice to Yahweh your God from among your flock and herd at the place that Yahweh will choose, to let his name dwell there. ³ You shall not eat _⌊with it_⌋* anything leavened; seven days you shall eat _⌊with it_⌋* unleavened bread of affliction, because in haste you went out from the land of Egypt, so that you will remember the day of your going out from the land of Egypt all the days of your life. ⁴ And leaven shall not be seen with* you in any of your territory* for seven days, and none of the meat that you will slaughter on the evening on the first day shall remain overnight until morning. ⁵ You are not allowed to offer the Passover sacrifice in one of your _⌊towns_⌋* that Yahweh your God is giving to you, ⁶ but only at the place that Yahweh your God will choose, to let his name dwell there; you shall offer the Passover sacrifice _⌊in the evening at sunset_⌋,* at the designated time* of your going out from Egypt.

¹⁵ And they slaughtered the Passover lamb on the fourteenth day of the second month. And the priests and the Levites were disgraced, so they consecrated themselves and brought burnt offerings into the house of Yahweh. ¹⁶ Then they stood at their positions according to custom, according to the law of Moses the man of God. The priests were sprinkling the blood from the hand of the Levites. ¹⁷ For there were many in the assembly who did not consecrate themselves, so the Levites were over the killing of the Passover sacrifices for all who were not clean, to consecrate them to Yahweh. ¹⁸ For a majority of the people, many from Ephraim, Manasseh, Issachar, and Zebulun, had not cleansed themselves. But they ate the Passover sacrifice _⌊otherwise than prescribed_⌋,* but Hezekiah had prayed for them, saying, "May the good Yahweh make atonement unto

⁶ All of us have wandered about like sheep; we each have turned to his own way; and Yahweh let fall on him the iniquity of us all.

²¹ In the first month, on the _⌊fourteenth_⌋* day of the month, you shall have the Passover, a feast lasting for _⌊seven days_⌋,* when you shall eat unleavened breads.

²⁰ But the chief priests and the elders persuaded the crowds that they should ask for Barabbas and put Jesus to death.

²⁵ And all the people answered and* said, "His blood be on us and on our children!"

⁴⁶ And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, "Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?" (that is, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?")* ⁴⁷ And some of those who were standing there, when they* heard it,* said, "This man is summoning Elijah!" ⁴⁸ And immediately one of them ran and took a sponge and filled it* with sour wine and put it* on a reed and* gave it* to him to drink. ⁴⁹ But the others said, "Leave him* alone! let us see if Elijah is coming to save him." ⁵⁰ And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice and* gave up his* spirit.

¹ And as soon as morning came, after* formulating a plan, the chief priests, with the elders and scribes and the whole Sanhedrin, tied up Jesus, led him* away, and handed him* over to Pilate.

⁸ And the crowd came up and* began to ask him to do as he customarily did* for them.

¹¹ But the chief priests incited the crowd so that he would release for them Barabbas* instead.

²⁵ Now it was the third hour when they crucified him.

³³ And when* the sixth hour came, darkness came over the whole land until the ninth hour. ³⁴ And at the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, "Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?" (which is translated, "My God, my God, _⌊why_⌋* have you forsaken me?")*

¹ And the whole assembly of them rose up and* brought him before Pilate.

¹⁸ But they all cried out in unison, saying, "Take this man away, and release for us Barabbas!"

²³ this man, delivered up by the determined plan and foreknowledge of God, you executed by* nailing to a cross* through the hand of lawless men.

¹⁴ But you denied the Holy and Righteous One and demanded that a man—a murderer—be granted to you.

²⁷ For in truth both Herod and Pontius Pilate, together with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, assembled together in this city against your holy servant Jesus whom you anointed,

²² And take a bunch of hyssop and dip it into the blood that is in the basin and apply some of the blood that is in the basin to the lintel and the two doorposts. And you will not go out, anyone from the doorway of his house, until morning. ²³ And Yahweh will go through to strike Egypt, and he will see the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, and Yahweh will pass over the doorway and will not allow the destroyer to come to your houses to strike you.

⁷ in whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace,

²² Indeed, nearly everything is purified with blood according to the law, and apart from the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.

¹⁴ For by one offering he has perfected for all time those who are made holy.

²⁹ How much worse punishment do you think the person will be considered worthy of who treats with disdain the Son of God and who considers ordinary the blood of the covenant by which he was made holy and who insults the Spirit of grace?

²⁸ By faith he kept the Passover and the sprinkling of blood, in order that the one who destroyed the firstborn would not touch them.

² according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, by the sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience and for sprinkling with the blood of Jesus Christ. May grace and peace be multiplied to you.

¹⁴ And they made their lives bitter with hard work with mortar and with bricks and with all sorts of work in the field—with all their work in which they ruthlessly enslaved them.

³ And Moses said to the people, "Remember this day when you went out from Egypt, from a house of slaves, because with strength of hand Yahweh brought you out from here, and food with yeast will not be eaten.

⁷ Unleavened bread will be eaten the seven days; food with yeast will not be seen for you; and yeast will not be seen for you in all your territory.

¹⁸ " 'You will not sacrifice the blood of my sacrifice together with food with yeast, and you will not leave the fat of my feast overnight until morning.

²⁵ "You will not slaughter the blood of my sacrifice on food with yeast, and the sacrifice of the Feast of the Passover will not stay overnight to the morning.

¹¹ On the second month on the fourteenth day _⌊at twilight_⌋* they will observe it; they will eat it with unleavened bread and bitter plants. ¹² They will leave none of it until morning, and they will not break a bone in it; they will observe it according to every decree of the Passover.

³ You shall not eat _⌊with it_⌋* anything leavened; seven days you shall eat _⌊with it_⌋* unleavened bread of affliction, because in haste you went out from the land of Egypt, so that you will remember the day of your going out from the land of Egypt all the days of your life. ⁴ And leaven shall not be seen with* you in any of your territory* for seven days, and none of the meat that you will slaughter on the evening on the first day shall remain overnight until morning.

⁷ And you shall cook, and you shall eat it at the place that Yahweh your God will choose; and you may turn in the morning and go to your tents.

¹⁴ I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint. My heart is like wax; it is melted _⌊within me_⌋.*

¹⁰ Yet* Yahweh was pleased to crush him; he _⌊made him sick_⌋.* If she* places* his life a guilt offering,* he will see offspring. He will prolong days, and the will of Yahweh will succeed in his hand.

⁵ And bring a thank offering of unleavened bread, and proclaim freewill offerings, pronounce them, for so you love to do, O _⌊people_⌋* of Israel," is the declaration of my Lord Yahweh.

¹⁰ " 'I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants* of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication, and they will look to me whom they pierced, and they shall mourn over him, as one wails over an only child, and they will grieve bitterly over him as one grieves bitterly over a firstborn.

¹² Then they understood that he did not say to beware of the leaven of bread, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

²⁶ Now while* they were eating Jesus took bread and, after* giving thanks, he broke it,* and giving it* to the disciples, he said, "Take, eat, this is my body."

⁵² So the Jews began to quarrel* _⌊among themselves_⌋,* saying, "How can this man give us his flesh to eat?" ⁵³ Then Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life in yourselves! ⁵⁴ The one who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. ⁵⁵ For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. ⁵⁶ The one who eats* my flesh and drinks my blood resides in me and I in him. ⁵⁷ Just as the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so also the one who eats* me—that one will live because of me.

⁶ Your boasting is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole batch of dough? ⁷ Clean out the old leaven in order that you may be a new batch of dough, just as you are unleavened. For Christ our Passover has been sacrificed. ⁸ So then, let us celebrate the feast, not with the old leaven or with the leaven of wickedness and sinfulness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. ⁹ A little leaven leavens the whole batch of dough.

⁶ And you became imitators of us and of the Lord, receiving the word in much affliction, with the joy of the Holy Spirit,

⁸ And they will eat the meat on this night; they will eat it fire-roasted and with unleavened bread on _⌊bitter herbs_⌋.*

¹³ From heaven he sent fire, into my bones he let it descend. He spread out a net for my feet; he turned me back, he gave me devastation, fainting all day.

³⁴ If any remains until morning from the ordination meat or from the bread, you will burn the remainder in fire; it will not be eaten, because it is a holy object.

¹⁵ And the meat of the sacrifice of his thanksgiving fellowship offerings must be eaten on the day of his offering; he must not leave it until morning. ¹⁶ " 'But* if his sacrifice is for a vow or as a freewill offering, it must be eaten on the day of his presenting his sacrifice, and on the next day the remainder* from it may be eaten, ¹⁷ but* the remainder from the sacrifice's meat must be burned up in the fire on the third day.

³⁰ It must be eaten on that day; you must not leave over anything from it until morning; I am Yahweh.

⁴ And leaven shall not be seen with* you in any of your territory* for seven days, and none of the meat that you will slaughter on the evening on the first day shall remain overnight until morning. ⁵ You are not allowed to offer the Passover sacrifice in one of your _⌊towns_⌋* that Yahweh your God is giving to you,

¹³ And the blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are, and I will see the blood, and I will pass over you, and there will not be a destructive plague among you when I strike the land of Egypt.

²¹ And Moses called all the elders of Israel, and he said to them, "Select and take for yourselves sheep for your clans and slaughter the Passover sacrifice.

²⁷ you will say, 'It is a Passover sacrifice for Yahweh, who passed over the houses of the _⌊Israelites_⌋* in Egypt when he struck Egypt; and he delivered our houses.'" And the people knelt down and they worshiped.

⁴³ And Yahweh said to Moses and Aaron, "This is the statute of the Passover: No foreigner may eat it.

¹⁹ And the disciples did as Jesus directed them, and they prepared the Passover. ²⁰ And when it* was evening, he was reclining at table with the twelve disciples.*

³⁸ and standing behind him at his feet weeping, she began to wet his feet with her tears and was wiping them* with the hair of her head and was kissing his feet and anointing them* with the perfumed oil.

³⁵ "_⌊You must be prepared for action_⌋* and your* lamps burning.

²² But his* father said to his slaves, 'Quickly bring out the best robe and put it* on him, and put a ring on his finger* and sandals on his* feet!

¹⁵ and binding shoes under your feet with the preparation of the good news of peace,

¹³ Therefore, _⌊when you have prepared your minds for action_⌋* by* being self-controlled, put your hope completely in the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

² And God spoke to Moses, and he said to him, "I am Yahweh.

⁴ And Moses said, "Thus says Yahweh, 'About the middle of the night I will go out through the midst of Egypt, ⁵ and every firstborn in the land of Egypt will die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sits on his throne to the firstborn of the slave woman who is behind the pair of millstones and every firstborn animal.* ⁶ And there will be a great cry of distress in all the land of Egypt, the like of which has not been nor will be again.*

²³ And Yahweh will go through to strike Egypt, and he will see the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, and Yahweh will pass over the doorway and will not allow the destroyer to come to your houses to strike you.

²⁹ _⌊And_⌋* in the middle of the night, Yahweh struck all of the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh sitting on his throne to the firstborn of the captive who was in the prison house and every firstborn of an animal. ³⁰ And Pharaoh got up at night, he and all his servants and all Egypt, and a great cry of distress was in Egypt because there was not a house where there was no one dead.

⁶ his master will present him to God* and bring him to the door or to the doorpost, and his master will pierce his ear with an awl, and he will serve him forever.

²⁸ " 'You will not curse God,* and you will not curse a leader among your people.

⁴ while the Egyptians were burying all the firstborn among them whom Yahweh struck. Yahweh also executed punishments among their gods.

³ When the Ashdodites got up early the next morning, _⌊there was_⌋* Dagon fallen with his face to the ground before the ark of Yahweh! So they took Dagon and returned him to his place.

⁵ You must make images of your tumors* and images of your mice that are ravaging the land, and you must give glory to the God of Israel. Perhaps he will lighten his hand on you and on your gods and on your land.

¹² And they abandoned their gods there. And David commanded, and they were burnt with fire.

¹ A psalm of Asaph.*
God stands in the divine assembly;* he administers judgment in the midst of the gods.*

⁶ I have said,* "You are gods, and sons of the Most High, all of you.

¹ An oracle of Egypt:
Look! Yahweh is riding on a swift cloud and is coming to Egypt. And the idols of Egypt will tremble in front of him, and the heart of Egypt melts in his inner parts.

¹¹ I myself am Yahweh, and there is no savior besides me! ¹² I myself declared and saved, and I _⌊proclaimed_⌋.* And there was no _⌊strange god_⌋* among you. And you are my witnesses," _⌊declares_⌋* Yahweh, "and I am God. ¹³ Indeed, from this day I am the one, and no one can deliver from my hand. I perform,* and who can _⌊cancel it_⌋?"* ¹⁴ Thus says Yahweh, your redeemer, the holy one of Israel: "For your sake I will send to Babylon, and I will cause all of them to fall down as fugitives, and _⌊the Chaldeans_⌋,* their rejoicing on the ships. ¹⁵ I am Yahweh, your holy one, the creator of Israel, your king."

¹³ And he will break the stone pillars of Heliopolis, which is in the land of Egypt. And he will burn the _⌊temples_⌋* of the gods of Egypt with fire." '"

¹⁶ But* I will spare from them _⌊a few men_⌋* from the sword, from the famine and from the plague, so that they may tell of all their abominations among the nations to which they will go, and they will know that I am Yahweh."

¹⁷ And in all of the vineyards there will be wailing, because I will pass in your midst," says Yahweh.

¹¹ Yahweh will be awesome against them, for he will destroy all the gods of the earth and all the lands* of the nations; each in its place will bow down to him.

³⁴ Jesus answered them, "Is it not written in your law, 'I said, "You are gods" '?* ³⁵ If he called them 'gods' to whom the word of God came—and the scripture cannot be broken—

¹¹ And you shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and you.

¹² So then please swear to me by Yahweh, because _⌊I have shown loyalty to you_⌋,* and _⌊you will also show loyalty_⌋* _⌊to my family_⌋.* You must give me a sign of good faith,*

¹⁰ and to await his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus, the one who delivers us from the coming wrath.

⁷ But if we walk in the light as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

¹ And afterward, Moses and Aaron went, and they said to Pharaoh, "Thus says Yahweh the God of Israel, 'Release my people so that they may hold a festival for me in the desert.'"

¹⁷ "And you will keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread, because on this very day I brought out your divisions from the land of Egypt, and you will keep this day for your generations as a lasting statute.

²⁴ "And you will keep this event as a rule for you and for your children forever.*

⁹ And it will be as a sign on your hand and as a memorial between your eyes so that the law of Yahweh will be in your mouth, that with a strong hand Yahweh brought you out from Egypt. ¹⁰ And you will keep this statute at its appointed time _⌊from year to year_⌋.*

⁴ " 'These are Yahweh's appointed times, holy assemblies, which you shall proclaim at* their appointed time. ⁵ In the first month, on the fourteenth of the month at the evening is Yahweh's Passover.

⁸ The sons of Aaron, the priests, will blow on the trumpets; this will be an eternal decree for your generations.

⁴⁰ it was a memorial for the _⌊Israelites_⌋,* so that _⌊no strange man_⌋* who is not from _⌊the offspring_⌋* of Aaron should approach the presence of Yahweh to burn a smoke offering;* he will not be like Korah and his company, just as Yahweh had spoken to him by the hand of Moses.*

⁸ Yahweh spoke to Aaron, "Behold, I myself have given to you the responsibility of my contributions for all the holy objects of the _⌊Israelites_⌋;* I have given them as a portion to you and your sons as an eternal decree.

¹¹ And you shall rejoice before Yahweh your God, you and your son and your daughter and your slave and your slave woman and the Levite that is in your _⌊towns_⌋* and the alien and the orphan and the widow who are in your midst in the place that Yahweh your God will choose to let his name dwell there.

⁷ you will say to them that the waters of the Jordan were cut off _⌊from before_⌋* the ark of the covenant of Yahweh. When it crossed the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off. These stones will be as a memorial for the _⌊Israelites_⌋* for eternity."

²⁵ So* from that day and beyond, he made it a rule and a regulation for Israel until this day.

²¹ Then the king commanded all of the people, saying, "Keep the Passover to Yahweh your God, as has been written on the scroll of this covenant."

⁹ Nehemiah the governor, Ezra the priest and scribe, and the Levites who taught the people said to all of the people, "This day is holy to Yahweh your God. Do not mourn nor weep." For all of the people wept when they heard the words of the law.* ¹⁰ Then he said to them, "Go, eat festive food and drink sweet drinks, and send a share to those for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our lord. Do not be grieved because the joy of Yahweh is your refuge." ¹¹ So the Levites silenced all of the people, saying, "Silence, for this day is holy. Do not be grieved." ¹² All of the people went to eat, to drink, to send a share, and to have great joy because they understood the words that they had made known to them.

⁴ He has made his wonders _⌊to be remembered_⌋;* Yahweh is gracious and compassionate.

¹³ O Yahweh, your name endures forever, your _⌊renown_⌋* _⌊throughout all generations_⌋,*

¹⁴ And a grain offering he must provide in addition to it _⌊every morning_⌋,* a* sixth of an* ephah and a third of a hin of olive oil to moisten the finely milled flour as a grain offering to Yahweh _⌊as a perpetual statute_⌋.*

¹⁴ And the crown will be for Helem,* for Tobijah, for Jedaiah, and for Hen* son of Zephaniah, as a memorial in the temple of Yahweh.

¹³ Truly I say to you, wherever this gospel is proclaimed in the whole world, what this woman has done will also be told in memory of her."

¹⁹ And he took bread, and* after* giving thanks, he broke it* and gave it* to them, saying, "This is my body which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me."

²³ For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you, that the Lord Jesus, on the night in which he was betrayed, took bread, ²⁴ and after he* had given thanks, he broke it and said, "This is my body which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me." ²⁵ Likewise also the cup, after they had eaten, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me." ²⁶ For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.

¹⁴ And as for any uncircumcised male who has not circumcised the flesh of his foreskin, that person shall be cut off from his* people. He has broken my covenant.

¹⁹ For seven days yeast must not be found in your houses, because _⌊anyone eating food with yeast_⌋* will be cut off from the community of Israel—whether an alien or a native of the land. ²⁰ You will eat no food with yeast; in all of your dwellings you will eat unleavened bread."

⁶ Seven days you will eat unleavened bread, and on the seventh day will be a feast for Yahweh. ⁷ Unleavened bread will be eaten the seven days; food with yeast will not be seen for you; and yeast will not be seen for you in all your territory. ⁸ And you shall tell your son on that day, saying, 'This is because of what Yahweh did for me when I came out from Egypt.'

¹⁴ And you must keep the Sabbath, because it is holy for you; defilers* of it will surely be put to death, because anyone who does work on it—that person will be cut off from among his people.

¹⁰ And if there is _⌊anyone_⌋* from the house of Israel or* from the alien who is dwelling in their midst who eats any blood, then* I will set my face against the person who eats the blood, and I will cut him off from among his people.

¹⁴ Indeed,* the life of all flesh, its blood, is in its life, so* I said to the _⌊Israelites_⌋,* 'You may not eat the blood of any flesh, because the life of all flesh is its blood; anyone who eats it must be cut off.'

⁵ In the first month, on the fourteenth of the month at the evening is Yahweh's Passover. ⁶ And on the fifteenth day of this month is Yahweh's Feast of Unleavened Bread; for seven days you shall eat unleavened bread. ⁷ On the first day there shall be a holy assembly for you; you shall not do _⌊any regular work_⌋.* ⁸ And you shall present an offering for Yahweh made by fire for seven days; on the seventh day there shall be a holy assembly; you shall not do _⌊any regular work_⌋.'"*

¹³ But the man who is clean and not on a journey, and he fails to observe the Passover, that person will be cut off from the people because he did not present the offering of Yahweh on its appointed time. That man will bear his guilt.

¹⁷ On the fifteenth day of this month is a religious feast, unleavened bread must be eaten for seven days.

³ You shall not eat _⌊with it_⌋* anything leavened; seven days you shall eat _⌊with it_⌋* unleavened bread of affliction, because in haste you went out from the land of Egypt, so that you will remember the day of your going out from the land of Egypt all the days of your life.

⁵ You are not allowed to offer the Passover sacrifice in one of your _⌊towns_⌋* that Yahweh your God is giving to you,

⁸ Six days you shall eat unleavened bread, and on the seventh day there shall be an assembly for Yahweh your God; you shall not do work.

¹² May Yahweh cut off from the tents of Jacob the man who does this, the one who is awake and who answers, and the one who brings an offering to Yahweh of hosts!

¹ During _⌊this time_⌋* when* a crowd of many thousands had gathered together, so that they were trampling one another, he began to say to his disciples first, "Beware for yourselves of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

³ And when he* saw that it was pleasing to the Jews, he proceeded to arrest Peter also. (_⌊Now this was during the feast_⌋* of Unleavened Bread.)

¹² I wish that the ones who are disturbing you would also _⌊castrate themselves_⌋*!

⁵ And then on the sixth day, they will prepare what they bring, and it will be twice over what they will gather every other day."

²³ And he said to them, "This is what Yahweh has said. Tomorrow is a rest period, a holy Sabbath for Yahweh. Bake what you want to bake, and boil what you want to boil. Put aside all the surplus for yourselves for safekeeping until the morning."

²⁹ See, because Yahweh has given to you the Sabbath, therefore he is giving to you on the sixth day bread for two days. Stay, _⌊each in his location_⌋;* let no one go from his place on the seventh day."

¹⁰ But the seventh day is a Sabbath for Yahweh your God; you will not do any work—you or your son or your daughter, your male slave or your female slave, or your animal, or your alien who is in your gates—

² On six days work can be done, and on the seventh there will be for you a holy day,* a _⌊Sabbath of complete rest_⌋,* for Yahweh; anyone doing work on it will be put to death. ³ You will not kindle a fire in any of your dwellings on the day of the Sabbath."

² "Speak to the _⌊Israelites_⌋,* and say to them, 'The festivals of Yahweh that you shall proclaim are holy assemblies; these are my appointed times. ³ " 'For six days work is to be done, and on the seventh day shall be _⌊a Sabbath of complete rest_⌋,* a holy assembly; you shall not do any work; it shall be a Sabbath for Yahweh in all your dwellings.

²¹ And _⌊you shall make a proclamation_⌋* on _⌊this very same day_⌋;* it shall be a holy assembly for you; you shall not do _⌊any regular work_⌋;* this is a _⌊lasting statute_⌋* in all your dwellings throughout* your generations.

²⁴ "Speak to the _⌊Israelites_⌋,* saying, 'In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, _⌊you must have_⌋* a rest period, a remembrance of the trumpet blast, a holy assembly. ²⁵ You must not do _⌊any regular work_⌋,* and you shall present an offering made by fire to Yahweh.'"

²⁷ "Surely the Day of Atonement is on the tenth day of the seventh month; it shall be a holy assembly for you, and you shall deny yourselves, and you shall present an offering made by fire to Yahweh.

³⁵ On the first day there shall be a holy assembly; you must not do any _⌊regular work_⌋.*

²⁵ On the seventh day you will have a holy convocation; _⌊you will not do any regular work_⌋.*

¹ " 'On the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you will have a holy convocation; _⌊you will not do any regular work_⌋.* It will be a day for you of blowing trumpets.

¹² " 'Then on the fifteenth day of the seventh month you will have a holy convocation; _⌊you will not do any regular work_⌋,* and you will hold a religious feast for Yahweh for seven days.

²¹ Thus says Yahweh, "Be on your guard for the sake of yourselves, that you must not carry a burden on the day of the Sabbath, and you must not bring it* through the gates of Jerusalem. ²² And you must not carry a burden from your houses on the day of the Sabbath, and you must not do any work. But you must declare holy the day of Sabbath, just as I commanded your ancestors.*

⁵ And the Egyptians will know that I am Yahweh when I stretch out my hand over Egypt and bring the _⌊Israelites_⌋* out from their midst."

⁴¹ And at the end of four hundred and thirty years, on this exact day, all of Yahweh's divisions went out from the land of Egypt.

⁸ And you shall tell your son on that day, saying, 'This is because of what Yahweh did for me when I came out from Egypt.'

¹⁶ Then we cried to Yahweh, and he heard our voice; he sent an angel and brought us out from Egypt. And look, we are in Kadesh, a city on the edge of your territory.

¹ And Yahweh said to Moses and to Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying, ² "This month will be the beginning of months; it will be for you the first of the months of the year.

¹⁵ You will eat unleavened bread for seven days. Surely on the first day you shall remove yeast from your houses, because anyone who eats food with yeast from the first day until the seventh day—that person will be cut off from Israel.

¹⁶ " 'On the fourteenth day of the first month is the Passover for Yahweh. ¹⁷ On the fifteenth day of this month is a religious feast, unleavened bread must be eaten for seven days. ¹⁸ On the first day there will be a holy convocation; _⌊you will not do any regular work_⌋.* ¹⁹ You will present an offering by fire, a burnt offering for Yahweh: two bulls and one ram and seven male lambs _⌊in their first year_⌋;* they will be for you without defect. ²⁰ For their grain offering, you will offer finely milled flour mixed with oil: three-tenths for the bull and two-tenths for the ram. ²¹ You will offer a tenth for each of the seven male lambs; ²² and a goat for one sin offering to make atonement for you. ²³ You will offer these besides the burnt offering of the morning, which is for the continual burnt offering. ²⁴ Like this you will offer daily, for seven days, the food of the offering made by fire, a fragrance of appeasement for Yahweh; it will be offered in addition to the continual burnt offering and its libation. ²⁵ On the seventh day you will have a holy convocation; _⌊you will not do any regular work_⌋.*

⁴⁸ And when an alien dwells with you and he wants to prepare the Passover for Yahweh, every male belonging to him must be circumcised, and then he may come near to prepare it, and he will be as the native of the land, but any uncircumcised man may not eat it.

¹⁶ Go and gather the elders of Israel and say to them, 'Yahweh, the God of your ancestors,* appeared to me, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, saying, "I have carefully attended to you and what has been done to you in Egypt."

³ Speak to all the community of Israel, saying, 'On the tenth of this month, they will each take for themselves _⌊a lamb for the family_⌋,* a lamb for the household.

¹¹ And this is how you will eat it—with your waists fastened, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand, and you will eat it in haste. It is Yahweh's Passover.

⁵ And Yahweh said to Moses, "Go on before the people and take with you some from the elders of Israel, and the staff with which you struck the Nile take in your hand, and go.

⁷ And Moses came and called the elders of the people, and he placed before them all these words that Yahweh had commanded him.

² "Let the _⌊Israelites_⌋* observe the Passover at its appointed time. ³ On the fourteenth day of this month _⌊at twilight_⌋* you will perform it at its appointed time according to all its decrees; and according to all its stipulations you will observe it." ⁴ So Moses spoke to the _⌊Israelites_⌋* to observe the Passover. ⁵ And they observed the Passover on the fourteenth day of the month _⌊at twilight_⌋* in the desert of Sinai. According to all that Yahweh commanded Moses, thus the _⌊Israelites_⌋* did.

¹⁶ And Yahweh said to Moses, "Gather for me seventy men from the elders of Israel whom you know are elders of the people and their* officials; take them to the tent of assembly, and they will stand there with you.

¹⁰ And the _⌊Israelites_⌋* camped at Gilgal, and they kept the Passover on the fourteenth day of the month, in the evening, on the plains of Jericho.

¹⁵ And they slaughtered the Passover lamb on the fourteenth day of the second month. And the priests and the Levites were disgraced, so they consecrated themselves and brought burnt offerings into the house of Yahweh. ¹⁶ Then they stood at their positions according to custom, according to the law of Moses the man of God. The priests were sprinkling the blood from the hand of the Levites. ¹⁷ For there were many in the assembly who did not consecrate themselves, so the Levites were over the killing of the Passover sacrifices for all who were not clean, to consecrate them to Yahweh.

⁵ And stand in the sanctuary according to the clans of _⌊your families_⌋* for your brothers, the _⌊lay people_⌋,* and a part of the _⌊family_⌋* of the Levites. ⁶ And slaughter the Passover lamb and consecrate yourself and prepare for your brothers to do according to the word of Yahweh by the hand of Moses.

²⁰ For the priests and Levites together had consecrated themselves; all of them were clean. And they slaughtered the Passover sacrifice for all of the returned exiles, for their brothers the priests, and for themselves.

¹⁷ Now on the first day* of the feast of Unleavened Bread the disciples came up to Jesus, saying, "Where do you want us to prepare for you to eat the Passover?" ¹⁸ And he said, "Go into the city to a certain man and tell him, 'The Teacher says, "My time is near. I am celebrating the Passover with you with my disciples." ' ¹⁹ And the disciples did as Jesus directed them, and they prepared the Passover.

¹² And on the first day of the feast of Unleavened Bread, when they sacrificed the Passover lamb, his disciples said to him, "Where do you want us to go and* prepare, so that you can eat the Passover?" ¹³ And he sent two of his disciples and said to them, "Go into the city and a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him, ¹⁴ and wherever he enters, say to the master of the house, 'The Teacher says, "Where is my guest room where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?" ' ¹⁵ And he will show you a large upstairs room furnished* and* ready, and prepare for us there." ¹⁶ And the disciples went out and came into the city and found everything* just as he had told them, and they prepared the Passover.

⁷ And the day of the feast of Unleavened Bread came, on which it was necessary for the Passover lamb to be sacrificed. ⁸ And he sent Peter and John, saying, "Go and* prepare the Passover for us, so that we may eat it.* ⁹ So they said to him, "Where do you want us to prepare it?"* ¹⁰ And he said to them, "Behold, when* you have entered into the city, a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him into the house which he enters. ¹¹ And you will say to the master of the house, 'The Teacher says to you, "Where is the guest room where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?" ' ¹² And he will show you a large furnished* upstairs room. Make preparations there." ¹³ So they went and* found everything* just as he had told them, and they prepared the Passover.

⁴ and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank from the spiritual rock that followed them, and the rock was Christ.

⁷ And they will take some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel on the houses in which they eat it.

⁶ He must take the living bird and the _⌊cedar wood_⌋* and _⌊the crimson thread_⌋* and the hyssop, and he shall dip them and the living bird in the bird's blood slaughtered over the fresh water. ⁷ And he shall spatter the blood* seven times on the one who presents himself for cleansing from the infectious skin disease, and he shall declare him clean, and he shall send the living bird _⌊into the open field_⌋.*

¹⁸ A clean person will take hyssop and dip it into the water and sprinkle it on the tent and on all the objects and persons who were there, and on one who touched the bone, or the one slain, or the dead, or the burial site.

⁷ Purify me with hyssop, and I shall be clean. Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

³⁰ And after they* had sung the hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.

¹ Now* the first covenant had regulations for worship and the earthly sanctuary.

¹⁴ how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, cleanse our consciences from dead works to serve the living God?

¹⁹ For when* every commandment had been spoken by Moses to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves* with water and scarlet wool and hyssop and sprinkled both the scroll itself and all the people,

²⁴ and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and _⌊to the sprinkled blood_⌋* that speaks better than Abel's does.

¹² "And I will go through the land of Egypt during this night, and I will strike all of the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from human to animal, and I will do punishments among all of the gods of Egypt. I am Yahweh. ¹³ And the blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are, and I will see the blood, and I will pass over you, and there will not be a destructive plague among you when I strike the land of Egypt.

¹⁶ When the angel stretched out his hand to destroy Jerusalem, Yahweh regretted about the evil, and he said to the angel who brought destruction among the people, "Enough, now relax your hand." Now the angel of Yahweh was at the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite.

³⁶ And the angel of Yahweh set out and struck one hundred and eighty-five thousand in the camp of the Assyrians. When* they rose in the morning, look! All of them were dead corpses.

⁴ And Yahweh said to him, "Go through in the midst of the city, in the midst of Jerusalem, and you must place a mark on the foreheads of the men _⌊who are groaning and lamenting_⌋* about all of the detestable things _⌊that are being done_⌋* in the midst of her."

⁶ You must kill _⌊totally_⌋* old man, young man and young woman, and little children and women, but _⌊concerning_⌋* every man _⌊with the mark on him_⌋* you must not approach; and from my sanctuary you must begin." And they began with the old men who _⌊were before_⌋* the house.*

¹⁰ nor grumble, just as some of them grumbled, and were destroyed by the destroyer.

³ saying, "Do not damage the earth or the sea or the trees until we have sealed the slaves of our God on their foreheads."

⁴ And it was told to them that they should not damage the grass of the earth or any green plant or any tree, except those people who do not have the seal of God on their* foreheads.

⁸ And I will give to you and to your offspring after you _⌊the land in which you are living as an alien_⌋,* all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting property. And I will be to them as God." ⁹ And God said to Abraham, "Now as for you, you must keep my covenant, you and your offspring after you, throughout their generations. ¹⁰ This is my covenant which you shall keep, between me and you, and also with* your offspring after you: Every male among you shall be circumcised.

¹⁴ "And this day will become a memorial for you, and you will celebrate it as a religious feast for Yahweh throughout your generations; you will celebrate it as a lasting statute.

⁸ And I have come down to deliver them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up from this land to a good and wide land, to a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Canaanites* and the Hittites* and the Amorites* and the Perizzites* and the Hivites* and the Jebusites.*

¹⁷ And I said, "I will bring you up from the misery of Egypt to the land of the Canaanites* and the Hittites* and the Amorites* and the Perizzites* and the Hivites* and the Jebusites,* to a land flowing with milk and honey." '

⁵ See, I now teach* you rules and regulations just as Yahweh my God has commanded me, to observe them just so in the midst of the land where you are going, to take possession of it.

⁸ "You must not do just as we are doing here _⌊today_⌋,* _⌊each according to all that is right in his eyes_⌋.* ⁹ For you have not come up to now to the resting place and to the inheritance that Yahweh your God is giving to you.

⁵ You are not allowed to offer the Passover sacrifice in one of your _⌊towns_⌋* that Yahweh your God is giving to you, ⁶ but only at the place that Yahweh your God will choose, to let his name dwell there; you shall offer the Passover sacrifice _⌊in the evening at sunset_⌋,* at the designated time* of your going out from Egypt. ⁷ And you shall cook, and you shall eat it at the place that Yahweh your God will choose; and you may turn in the morning and go to your tents. ⁸ Six days you shall eat unleavened bread, and on the seventh day there shall be an assembly for Yahweh your God; you shall not do work. ⁹ "You shall count off seven weeks for you; _⌊from the time you begin to harvest the standing grain_⌋* you shall begin to count seven weeks.

¹⁰ And the _⌊Israelites_⌋* camped at Gilgal, and they kept the Passover on the fourteenth day of the month, in the evening, on the plains of Jericho. ¹¹ On the next day after the Passover, on that* very day, they ate from the produce of the land, unleavened cakes and roasted corn. ¹² And the manna ceased the day after, when they started eating the produce of the land, and there was no longer manna for the _⌊Israelites_⌋.* They ate from the crop of the land of Canaan in that year.

⁴⁴ And he gave to them the lands of the nations, and they inherited the labor of the peoples, ⁴⁵ so that they might observe his statutes, and keep his laws. Praise Yah.*

² so that you will tell in the ears of your child and _⌊your grandchild_⌋* that I dealt harshly with the Egyptians and so that you will tell about my signs that I have done among them, and so you will know that I am Yahweh."

⁸ And you shall tell your son on that day, saying, 'This is because of what Yahweh did for me when I came out from Egypt.' ⁹ And it will be as a sign on your hand and as a memorial between your eyes so that the law of Yahweh will be in your mouth, that with a strong hand Yahweh brought you out from Egypt.

¹⁴ And when your son asks you _⌊in the future_⌋,* saying, 'What is this?' you will say to him, 'With strength of hand Yahweh brought us out from Egypt, from a house of slaves. ¹⁵ And when Pharaoh was stubborn to release us, Yahweh killed every firstborn in the land of Egypt, from firstborn human to firstborn domestic animal. Therefore I am sacrificing to Yahweh every first offspring of a womb, the males, and every firstborn of my sons I redeem.'

²² The column of cloud by day and the column of fire by night did not depart from before the people.

⁷ And you shall recite them to your children, and you shall talk about them at the time of your living in your house and at the time of your going on the road and at the time of your lying down and at the time of your rising up.

¹⁹ And you shall teach them to your children* by talking about them when you sit in your house and when you travel on the road and when you lie down and when you get up.

⁷ Remember the old days, _⌊the years long past_⌋;* ask your father, and he will inform you, your elders and they will tell you.*

⁶ so that this may be a reminder* among you. When your children ask in the future, saying, '_⌊What do these stones mean to you_⌋?'* ⁷ you will say to them that the waters of the Jordan were cut off _⌊from before_⌋* the ark of the covenant of Yahweh. When it crossed the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off. These stones will be as a memorial for the _⌊Israelites_⌋* for eternity."

²¹ And he said to the _⌊Israelites_⌋,* "When your children ask in the future _⌊their parents_⌋,* '_⌊What is the meaning of these stones_⌋?'* ²² you will let your children know by saying, 'Israel crossed this Jordan on dry ground.' ²³ For Yahweh your God dried up the waters of the Jordan before you, until you had crossed, just as Yahweh your God did to the _⌊Red Sea_⌋,* which he dried up before us until we had crossed over, ²⁴ so that all the peoples of the earth may know that the hand of Yahweh is strong, so that you may fear Yahweh your God _⌊forever_⌋."*

³ that we have heard and known, and our ancestors* have told us. ⁴ We will not hide them from their children,* telling the next generation the praises of Yahweh, and his power and his wonders that he has done. ⁵ For he established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law* in Israel, which he commanded our ancestors* to teach to their children, ⁶ so that the next generation might know— children yet to be born— that they might rise up and tell their children,

⁴ One generation will laud your works to another, and will declare your mighty deeds.

¹⁹ The living, the living one praises you like me today; a father will make your faithfulness known to children.

⁴ And fathers, do not make your children angry, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

³¹ And the people believed when they heard that Yahweh had attended to the _⌊Israelites_⌋* and that he had seen their misery, and they knelt down and they worshiped.

⁸ And Moses hurried and knelt down to the earth and worshiped.

² And you shall offer the Passover sacrifice to Yahweh your God from among your flock and herd at the place that Yahweh will choose, to let his name dwell there.

²⁰ And David said to all the assembly, "Bless Yahweh your God!" And all the assembly blessed Yahweh, the God of their ancestors.* And they bowed down and prostrated themselves before Yahweh and the king.

¹⁸ Then Jehoshaphat bowed his face* down to the ground, and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell before Yahweh to worship Yahweh.

³⁰ Then King Hezekiah and the princes commanded the Levites to praise Yahweh with the words of David and Asaph the seer. So they offered praise with joy, and they bowed down and worshiped.

⁶ Then Ezra blessed Yahweh the great God, and all of the people answered, "Amen! Amen!" while lifting their hands. Then they bowed down and worshiped Yahweh with their noses to the ground.

²³ And I said to you, "Release my son and let him serve me," but you refused to release him. Look, I am about to kill your son, your firstborn.'"

⁶ And Yahweh did this thing the next day; all the livestock of Egypt died, but from the livestock of the _⌊Israelites_⌋* not one died.

⁴ And Moses said, "Thus says Yahweh, 'About the middle of the night I will go out through the midst of Egypt, ⁵ and every firstborn in the land of Egypt will die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sits on his throne to the firstborn of the slave woman who is behind the pair of millstones and every firstborn animal.*

¹² "And I will go through the land of Egypt during this night, and I will strike all of the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from human to animal, and I will do punishments among all of the gods of Egypt. I am Yahweh.

¹⁵ And when Pharaoh was stubborn to release us, Yahweh killed every firstborn in the land of Egypt, from firstborn human to firstborn domestic animal. Therefore I am sacrificing to Yahweh every first offspring of a womb, the males, and every firstborn of my sons I redeem.'

¹³ because all the firstborn are mine; on the day of my killing all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, I consecrated for myself all the firstborn in Israel, _⌊both humankind and animal_⌋;* they will be mine. I am Yahweh."

¹⁷ For every firstborn among the _⌊Israelites_⌋* is mine, both humankind and animal. On the day I destroyed every firstborn in the land of Egypt I consecrated them to me,

²⁰ In a moment they die, and in the middle of the night the people are shaken, and they pass away, and they take away the mighty _⌊effortlessly_⌋.*

⁵¹ And he struck down all the firstborn in Egypt, the first of their virility in the tents of Ham.

³⁶ And he struck down all the firstborn in their land, the first of all their virility.

⁸ Who struck the firstborn of Egypt, both of humans* and animals.*

¹⁰ To him who struck Egypt through their firstborn, for his loyal love endures forever.

²² And they will be gathered in a gathering, like a prisoner _⌊in_⌋* a pit. And they will be shut _⌊in_⌋* a prison and be punished _⌊after_⌋* many days.

¹⁴ The fettered one shall make haste to be freed. And he shall not die in* the pit, and he shall not lack his bread.

⁶ So they took Jeremiah and threw him into the pit* of Malchiah, the son of the king, which was in the courtyard of the guard. And they let Jeremiah down by ropes. Now in the pit* there was no water,* _⌊but only_⌋* mud, and Jeremiah sank in the mud.

¹³ And they pulled Jeremiah by the ropes and brought him up from the pit.* And Jeremiah stayed in the courtyard of the guard.

¹¹ As for you also, because of the blood of your covenant, I will release your prisoners from _⌊the waterless pit_⌋.*

² for you yourselves well know that the day of the Lord is coming in the same way as a thief in the night. ³ Whenever they say "Peace and security," then sudden destruction will overtake them like the birth pains of _⌊a pregnant woman_⌋*, and they will not possibly escape.

²³ and assembly of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God the judge of all, and to the spirits of righteous people made perfect,

⁶ And there will be a great cry of distress in all the land of Egypt, the like of which has not been nor will be again.*

¹³ He who closes his ear from the cry of the poor, he also will cry out and not be heard.

⁶ But in the middle of the night there was a shout, 'Behold, the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!'

¹³ For judgment is merciless to the one who has not practiced mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

¹⁹ But I myself know that the king of Egypt will not allow you to go _⌊unless compelled by a strong hand_⌋.* ²⁰ And I will stretch out my hand, and I will strike Egypt with all of my wonders that I will do in its midst, and _⌊afterward_⌋* he will release you.

¹ And Yahweh said to Moses, "Now you will see what I will do to Pharaoh, because with a strong hand he will release them, and with a strong hand he will drive them out from his land."

⁸ And Pharaoh called Moses and Aaron and said, "Pray to Yahweh, and let him remove the frogs from me and from my people, and let me release the people so that they can sacrifice to Yahweh."

⁹ And Moses said, "With our young and with our old we will go; with our sons and with our daughters, with our sheep and goats and with our cattle we will go because it is the feast of Yahweh for us."

²⁹ And Moses said, "_⌊That is right_⌋.* _⌊I will not again see your face_⌋."*

⁸ And all of these your servants will come down to me and bow to me, saying, 'Go out, you and all the people who are at your feet.' And afterward I will go out." And he went out from Pharaoh _⌊in great anger_⌋.*

³⁸ Egypt was glad when they departed, because the fear of them* had fallen upon them.

³⁴ When Esau heard the words of his father he cried out with a great and exceedingly bitter cry of distress. And he said to his father, "Bless me as well, my father!"

³⁸ And Esau said to his father, "Have you only one blessing, my father? Bless me also, my father!" And Esau lifted up his voice and wept.

²⁸ And Pharaoh said, "I myself will release you, and you will sacrifice to Yahweh your God in the desert. Only surely you must not go far. Pray for me."

²⁸ Pray to Yahweh. The thunder of God and hail _⌊are enough_⌋,* and I will release you, and _⌊you will no longer have to stay_⌋."*

²⁶ our livestock must also go with us. Not a hoof can be left because we must take from them to serve Yahweh our God. And we will not know with what we are to serve Yahweh until we come there."

³ And God came to Abimelech in a dream at night. And he said to him, "Look, you are a dead man on account of the woman you have taken. For she is _⌊a married woman_⌋."*

¹ And Yahweh said to Moses, "Still one plague I will bring upon Pharaoh and upon Egypt; afterward he will release you from here. At the moment of his releasing, he will certainly drive you completely out from here.

¹² And the _⌊Israelites_⌋* said to Moses, saying, "Look! We will die! We will be destroyed! All of us will perish! ¹³ Anyone who approaches the tabernacle of Yahweh will die. _⌊Will we all die_⌋?"*

³ And the Nile will swarm with frogs, and they will go up and come into your house and into your _⌊bedroom_⌋* and onto your bed and into the house of your servants and among your people and into your ovens and into your kneading troughs.

¹⁴ And also the nation that they* serve I will judge. Then* afterward they shall go out with great possessions.

²¹ And I will give this people favor in the eyes of the Egyptians, _⌊and then_⌋* when you go, you will not go empty-handed. ²² And a woman will ask from her neighbor and from the woman dwelling as an alien in her house for objects of silver and objects of gold and garments, and you will put them on your sons and on your daughters; and you will plunder Egypt."

² Speak in the ears of the people, and let them ask, a man from his neighbor and a woman from her neighbor, for objects of silver and objects of gold." ³ And Yahweh gave the people favor in the eyes of Egypt. Also the man Moses was very great in the land of Egypt, in the eyes of the servants of Pharaoh and in the eyes of the people.

³⁷ Then he brought them out with silver and gold, and there was none among his tribes who stumbled.

²¹ And Yahweh was with Joseph, and showed loyal love to him, and gave him favor in the eyes of the chief of the prison.

³ And Yahweh gave the people favor in the eyes of Egypt. Also the man Moses was very great in the land of Egypt, in the eyes of the servants of Pharaoh and in the eyes of the people.

⁷ When the ways of a man are pleasing to Yahweh, even his enemies he will cause to make peace with him.

⁹ And God* gave Daniel favor and compassion _⌊before_⌋* the commander of the court officials,

⁴⁷ praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding every day to the total of those who were being saved.

¹⁰ and rescued him from all his afflictions and granted him favor and wisdom in the sight of Pharaoh king of Egypt. And he appointed him ruler over Egypt and all* his household.

² And I will make you a great nation, and I will bless you, and I will make your name great. And you will be a blessing.

⁵ And he brought him outside and said, "Look toward the heavens and count the stars if you are able to count them." And he said to him, "So shall your offspring be."

³ Then he said, "I am the God of your father. Do not be afraid to go down to Egypt, for I will make you a great nation there.

¹¹ And Joseph settled his father and his brothers, and he gave them property in the land of Egypt in the best part of the land, in the land of Rameses, as Pharaoh had instructed.

¹¹ And they appointed commanders of forced labor over them in order to oppress them with their _⌊forced labor_⌋,* and they built storage cities for Pharaoh—Pithom and Rameses.

²⁶ It was a bekah for the individual, the half shekel according to the sanctuary shekel, for _⌊everyone who was counted_⌋,* from _⌊twenty years old_⌋* and above, for six hundred and three thousand five hundred and fifty.

⁴⁶ All of the ones counted were six hundred and three thousand, five hundred and fifty.

³² These were the ones counted of the _⌊Israelites_⌋* according to _⌊their families_⌋;* all those counted from the camps according to their divisions were six hundred and three thousand five hundred.

²¹ But Moses said, "There are six hundred thousand on foot, among whom I am in the midst, and you yourself said, 'I will give meat to them, and they will eat for a whole month.'

⁵¹ These were the ones counted of the _⌊Israelites_⌋,* six hundred and one thousand seven hundred and thirty.

³ They set out from Rameses on the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month; on the next day after the Passover the _⌊Israelites_⌋* went out _⌊boldly_⌋* _⌊in the sight_⌋* of all the Egyptians

⁵ Then the _⌊Israelites_⌋* set out from Rameses, and they camped in Succoth.

⁴ The riff-raff that were in their midst _⌊had a strong desire_⌋;* and the _⌊Israelites_⌋* turned back and also wept, and they said, "Who will feed us meat?

²³ Thus says Yahweh of hosts: 'In those days ten men from _⌊all the nations of every language_⌋* will take hold of the hem of a Judean man,* saying, "Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you!" '"

³¹ And he called Moses and Aaron at night, and he said, "Get up, go out from the midst of my people, both you as well as the _⌊Israelites_⌋,* and go, serve Yahweh, as you have said. ³² Take both your sheep and goats as well as your cattle, and go, and bless also me." ³³ And the Egyptians urged the people in order to hurry their release* from the land, because they said, "All of us will die!"*

¹ And Yahweh said to Abram, "Go out from your land and from your relatives, and from the house of your father, to the land that I will show you. ² And I will make you a great nation, and I will bless you, and I will make your name great. And you will be a blessing. ³ And I will bless those who bless you, and those who curse you I will curse. And all families of the earth will be blessed in you."

¹³ And he said to Abram, "_⌊You must surely know_⌋* that your descendants shall be as aliens in a land _⌊not their own_⌋.* And they shall serve them* and they* shall oppress them four hundred years.

⁶ But God spoke like this: 'His descendants will be foreigners in a foreign land, and they will enslave them and mistreat them* four hundred years,

¹⁷ The God of this people Israel chose our fathers and exalted the people during their* stay in the land of Egypt, and with uplifted arm he led them out of it.

¹⁶ Now to Abraham and to his descendant the promises were spoken. It does not say, "and to descendants," as concerning many, but as concerning one, "and to your descendant,"* who is Christ. ¹⁷ Now I am saying this: the law, that came after four hundred and thirty years, does not revoke a covenant previously ratified by God, in order to nullify the promise.

⁹ By faith he lived in the land of promise as a stranger, living in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the fellow heirs of the same promise.

¹⁰ And now come, and I will send you to Pharaoh, and you must bring my people, the _⌊Israelites_⌋,* out from Egypt."

⁴ And Pharaoh will not listen to you, and I will put my hand into Egypt and bring out my divisions, my people, the _⌊Israelites_⌋,* from the land of Egypt with great punishments.

⁵¹ And it was on exactly this day Yahweh brought the _⌊Israelites_⌋* out from the land of Egypt by their divisions.

¹⁴ And he said, "Neither. I have come now as the commander of Yahweh's army." And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and _⌊he bowed down_⌋* and said to him, "What is my lord commanding his servant?"

¹³ You rise up and take pity on Zion, because it is time to favor it, for the appointed time has come.

²⁴ "Seventy weeks is decreed for your people and _⌊for your holy city_⌋,* to put an end to the transgression and to seal up sin* and to make atonement for guilt and to bring in everlasting righteousness and to seal vision and prophet and to anoint _⌊the most holy place_⌋.*

³ For there is yet a vision for the appointed time; it will give witness to the end, and it will not lie. If it tarries, wait for it, for it will surely come and not delay.

⁸ You go up to the feast. I am not* going up to this feast, because my time is not yet completed.*

⁷ But he said to them, "It is not for you to know the times or seasons that the Father has set by his own authority.

¹⁰ And you will keep this statute at its appointed time _⌊from year to year_⌋.*

¹⁰ " '_⌊No stranger shall eat_⌋* the votive offering; nor shall a temporary resident with* a priest or* a hired worker eat the votive offering.

¹⁴ If an alien dwells with you he will observe the Passover of Yahweh according to the decree of the Passover and according to its stipulation; thus you will have one decree for you, for the alien and for the native of the land.'"

¹² that you were at that time apart from Christ, alienated from the citizenship of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of promise, not having hope, and without God in the world.

¹² And _⌊at eight days of age_⌋* you shall yourselves circumcise every male belonging to your generations and _⌊the servant born in your house and the one bought from any foreigner_⌋* who is not from your offspring. ¹³ _⌊You must certainly circumcise_⌋* _⌊the servant born in your house and the one bought from any foreigner_⌋.* And my covenant shall be with your flesh as an everlasting covenant.

²³ And Abraham took Ishmael his son and all who were born of his house, and all those acquired by his money, every male among the men of Abraham's house, and he circumcised the flesh of their foreskin on the same day that God spoke with him.

¹² They will leave none of it until morning, and they will not break a bone in it; they will observe it according to every decree of the Passover.

²⁰ He protects all his bones; not one of them is broken.

³³ But when they* came to Jesus, after they saw he was already dead, they did not break his legs.

³⁶ For these things happened in order that the scripture would be fulfilled: "Not a bone of his will be broken."*

¹² For just as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of the body, although they* are many, are one body, thus also Christ.

¹⁹ Consequently, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but you are fellow citizens of the saints and members of the household of God, ²⁰ built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone,* ²¹ in whom the whole building, joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord, ²² in whom you also are built up together into a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.*

¹² And _⌊at eight days of age_⌋* you shall yourselves circumcise every male belonging to your generations and _⌊the servant born in your house and the one bought from any foreigner_⌋* who is not from your offspring.

¹⁹ For seven days yeast must not be found in your houses, because _⌊anyone eating food with yeast_⌋* will be cut off from the community of Israel—whether an alien or a native of the land.

¹⁵ For the assembly, there will be one decree for you and for the alien who dwells among you; it is an eternal decree for all your generations. _⌊You as well as the alien_⌋* will be _⌊before Yahweh_⌋.* ¹⁶ There will be one law and one stipulation for you and for the alien dwelling among you.'"

⁹ Thus says the Lord Yahweh: "Every _⌊foreigner_⌋* uncircumcised of heart and uncircumcised of flesh shall not come into my sanctuary—not any of the _⌊foreigners_⌋* who are in the midst of the _⌊Israelites_⌋.*

²² And then you shall allocate it as an inheritance for yourselves and for the aliens dwelling as aliens in the midst of you who have children in the midst of you, and so they shall be to you just like full citizens among the _⌊Israelites_⌋.* With you they shall be allotted with an inheritance in the midst of the tribes of Israel.

²⁸ There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

¹¹ where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, slave, or free, but Christ is all, and in all.

²² _⌊You must have_⌋* one norm; as for the alien, so* it must be for the native, because I am Yahweh your God.'"

²⁹ For the native among the _⌊Israelites_⌋* and the alien that dwells in their midst, there will be one law for anyone who commits an unintentional wrong.

²⁶ It was that Aaron and Moses to whom Yahweh said, "Bring the _⌊Israelites_⌋* out from the land of Egypt according to their divisions."

¹ "Now, Israel, listen to the rules and to the regulations that I am teaching you to do, in order that you may live and you may go in and you may take possession of the land that Yahweh, the God of your ancestors,* is giving to you. ² You must not add to the word that I am commanding you, and you shall not take away from it in order to keep* the commands of Yahweh your God that I am commanding you to observe.

³² * All of the things* that I am commanding you, _⌊you must diligently observe_⌋;* you shall not add to it, and you shall not take away from it."

²⁴ "Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. ²⁵ And the rain came down and the rivers came and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it did not collapse, because its foundation was laid on the rock.

²⁰ teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you, and behold, I am with you all the days until the end of the age."

⁵ His mother said to the servants, "Whatever he says to you, do it!"*

¹⁷ If you understand these things, you are blessed if you do them.

¹⁴ You are my friends if you do what I command you.

¹⁵ Outside are the dogs and the sorcerers and the sexually immoral people and the murderers and the idolaters and everyone who loves and who practices falsehood.
