¹ Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, you who are spiritual, restore such a one in the spirit of meekness; considering yourself, lest you also be tempted.

¹³ But go you and learn what that means, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

²⁹ Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and you shall find rest unto your souls.

¹² How think you? if a man have a hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, does he not leave the ninety and nine, and goes into the mountains, and seeks that which is gone astray? ¹³ And if so be that he find it, truthfully I say unto you, he rejoices more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray. ¹⁴ Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish. ¹⁵ Moreover if your brother shall trespass against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone: if he shall hear you, you have gained your brother.

⁶⁹ Now Peter sat outside in the palace: and a damsel came unto him, saying, You also were with Jesus of Galilee.

⁷⁵ And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crows, you shall deny me three times. And he went out, and wept bitterly.

⁴ What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, does not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? ⁵ And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. ⁶ And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost. ⁷ I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repents, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.

²² But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet: ²³ And bring to here the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry: ²⁴ For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry. ²⁵ Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew close to the house, he heard music and dancing. ²⁶ And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant. ²⁷ And he said unto him, Your brother is come; and your father has killed the fatted calf, because he has received him safe and sound. ²⁸ And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and entreated him. ²⁹ And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve you, neither transgressed I at any time your commandment: and yet you never gave me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends: ³⁰ But as soon as this your son was come, which has devoured your living with harlots, you have killed for him the fatted calf. ³¹ And he said unto him, Son, you are ever with me, and all that I have is yours. ³² It was suitable that we should make merry, and be glad: for this your brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.

⁶ For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

¹ Him that is weak in the faith receive you, but not to doubtful disputations.

¹ We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves.

¹⁵ But he that is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.

¹ And I, brothers, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, just as unto babes in Christ.

²¹ What will you? shall I come unto you with a rod, or in love, and in the spirit of meekness?

⁵ Defraud you not one the other, unless it be with consent for a time, that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your lack of self control.

¹² Therefore let him that thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.

³⁷ If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.

⁷ So that contrariwise you ought rather to forgive him, and comfort him, lest perhaps such a one should be swallowed up with overmuch sorrow.

¹ Now I Paul myself beseech you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, who in presence am base among you, but being absent am bold toward you:

¹¹ But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed. ¹² For before that certain came from James, he did eat with the Gentiles: but when they had come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing those who were of the circumcision. ¹³ And the other Jews dissembled likewise with him; insomuch that Barnabas also was carried away with their dissimulation.

²³ Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

¹⁵ Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.

²⁵ In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God perhaps will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

¹³ And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.

³ Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.

² For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.

¹³ Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him show out of a good conduct his works with meekness of wisdom.

¹⁹ Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him; ²⁰ Let him know, that he which converts the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.

¹⁵ But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asks you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

¹⁶ If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.

²² And of some have compassion, making a difference: ²³ And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.
