²⁶ Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

¹⁰ But when you are invited, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that bade you comes, he may say unto you, Friend, go up higher: then shall you have worship in the presence of them that sit at food with you.

⁷ So then neither is he that plants any thing, neither he that waters; but God that gives the increase.

¹⁵ But if you bite and devour one another, take heed that you be not consumed one of another.

¹ If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any insides and mercies, ² Fulfill you my joy, that you be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. ³ Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

¹⁴ But if you have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. ¹⁵ This wisdom descends not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. ¹⁶ For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

¹⁶ But now you rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil.

⁵ Likewise, you younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. yes, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resists the proud, and gives grace to the humble.
