²¹ My son, let not them depart from your eyes: keep sound wisdom and discretion:

⁹ Only take heed to yourself, and keep your soul diligently, lest you forget the things which your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life: but teach them to your sons, and your sons' sons;

⁶ And these words, which I command you this day, shall be in your heart: ⁷ And you shall teach them diligently unto your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up. ⁸ And you shall bind them for a sign upon your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. ⁹ And you shall write them upon the doorposts of your house, and on your gates.

⁴⁶ And he said unto them, Set your hearts unto all the words which I testify among you this day, which you shall command your children to observe to do, all the words of this law. ⁴⁷ For it is not a vain thing for you; because it is your life: and through this thing you shall prolong your days in the land, which you go over Jordan to possess.

⁸ This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth; but you shall meditate therein day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success.

⁷ He lays up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a shield to them that walk uprightly.

¹ My son, forget not my law; but let your heart keep my commandments: ² For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to you. ³ Let not mercy and truth forsake you: bind them about your neck; write them upon the table of your heart:

³¹ Then said Jesus to those Jews who believed on him, If you continue in my word, then are you my disciples indeed;

⁶ If a man abides not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. ⁷ If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done unto you.

¹ Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip. ² For if the word spoken by angels was steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward; ³ How shall we escape, if we neglect so great a salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;

²⁴ Let that therefore abide in you, which you have heard from the beginning. If that which you have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, you also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.

²⁷ But the anointing which you have received of him abides in you, and you need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teaches you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it has taught you, you shall abide in him.
