Proverbs 2 Cross References - KJ2000

1 My son, if you will receive my words, and lay up my commandments with you; 2 So that you incline your ear unto wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding; 3 Yea, if you cry after knowledge, and lift up your voice for understanding; 4 If you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hid treasures; 5 Then shall you understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God. 6 For the LORD gives wisdom: out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding. 7 He lays up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a shield to them that walk uprightly. 8 He keeps the paths of justice, and preserves the way of his saints. 9 Then shall you understand righteousness, and justice, and equity; yea, every good path. 10 When wisdom enters into your heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto your soul; 11 Discretion shall preserve you, understanding shall keep you: 12 To deliver you from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaks perverse things; 13 Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness; 14 Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the perverseness of the wicked; 15 Whose ways are crooked, and who are perverse in their paths: 16 To deliver you from the immoral woman, even from the seductress who flatters with her words; 17 Who forsakes the companion of her youth, and forgets the covenant of her God. 18 For her house leads unto death, and her paths unto the dead. 19 None that go unto her return again, neither take they hold of the paths of life. 20 That you may walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous. 21 For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the blameless shall remain in it. 22 But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it.

Genesis 39:3-12

3 And his master saw that the LORD was with him, and that the LORD made all that he did to prosper in his hand. 4 And Joseph found grace in his sight, and he served him: and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand. 5 And it came to pass from the time that he had made him overseer in his house, and over all that he had, that the LORD blessed the Egyptian's house for Joseph's sake; and the blessing of the LORD was upon all that he had in the house, and in the field. 6 And he left all that he had in Joseph's hand; and he knew not anything he had, except the food which he did eat. And Joseph was a handsome person, and well favored. 7 And it came to pass after these things, that his master's wife cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said, Lie with me. 8 But he refused, and said unto his master's wife, Behold, my master knows not what is with me in the house, and he has committed all that he has to my hand; 9 There is none greater in this house than I; neither has he kept back anything from me but you, because you are his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God? 10 And it came to pass, as she spoke to Joseph day by day, that he hearkened not unto her, to lie by her, or to be with her. 11 And it came to pass about this time, that Joseph went into the house to do his work; and there was none of the men of the house there within. 12 And she caught him by his garment, saying, Lie with me: and he left his garment in her hand, and fled, and got out.

Proverbs 5:14-14

14 I was almost in utter ruin in the midst of the congregation and assembly. 15 Drink waters out of your own cistern, and running waters out of your own well. 16 Should your fountains be dispersed abroad, and rivers of waters in the streets? 17 Let them be only for your own, and not for strangers with you. 18 Let your fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of your youth.

Proverbs 5:18

18 Let your fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of your youth. 19 Let her be as the loving deer and graceful doe; let her breasts satisfy you at all times; and be ravished always with her love. 20 And why will you, my son, be infatuated with an immoral woman, and embrace the bosom of a seductress?

Proverbs 7:1

1 My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with you.

Proverbs 7:5-23

5 That they may keep you from the immoral woman, from the seductress who flatters with her words. 6 For at the window of my house I looked through my casement, 7 And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding, 8 Passing through the street near her corner; and he went the way to her house, 9 In the twilight, in the evening, in the black and dark night: 10 And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of a harlot, and subtle of heart. 11 (She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house: 12 Now is she outside, now in the streets, and lies in wait at every corner.) 13 So she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face said unto him, 14 I have peace offerings with me; this day have I paid my vows. 15 Therefore came I forth to meet you, diligently to seek your face, and I have found you. 16 I have decked my bed with coverings of tapestry, with colored spreads, with fine linen of Egypt. 17 I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon. 18 Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning: let us delight ourselves with love. 19 For my husband is not at home, he has gone on a long journey: 20 He has taken a bag of money with him, and will come home at the day appointed. 21 With her enticing speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she seduced him. 22 He goes after her immediately, as an ox goes to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;

Proverbs 7:22-27

22 He goes after her immediately, as an ox goes to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks; 23 Till an arrow strikes through his liver; as a bird hastens to the snare, and knows not that it is for his life.

23 Till an arrow strikes through his liver; as a bird hastens to the snare, and knows not that it is for his life. 24 Hearken unto me now therefore, O you children, and attend to the words of my mouth. 25 Let not your heart turn aside to her ways, go not astray in her paths. 26 For she has cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her. 27 Her house is the way to sheol, going down to the chambers of death.

Proverbs 8:5-9

5 O you simple, understand wisdom: and, you fools, be of an understanding heart. 6 Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and from the opening of my lips shall come right things. 7 For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness is an abomination to my lips. 8 All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing crooked or perverse in them. 9 They are all plain to him that understands, and right to them that find knowledge.
