and you shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy. ²⁶ And when I have broken the supply of your bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and they shall deliver you your bread again by weight: and you shall eat, and not be satisfied. ²⁷ And if you will not for all this hearken unto me, but walk contrary unto me; This was the dedication of the altar, after it was anointed. ⁸⁹ And when Moses was gone into the tabernacle of meeting to speak with him, then he heard the voice of one speaking unto him from off the mercy seat that was upon the ark of testimony, from between the two cherubim: and he spoke unto him.

⁵⁰ We have therefore brought an offering for the LORD, what every man has gotten, of ornaments of gold, chains, and bracelets, rings, earrings, and necklaces, to make an atonement for ourselves before the LORD. ⁵¹ And Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold from them, even all crafted ornaments. ⁵² And all the gold of the offering that they offered up to the LORD, of the captains of thousands, and of the captains of hundreds, was sixteen thousand seven hundred and fifty shekels. ⁵³ (For the men of war had taken spoil, every man for himself.) ⁵⁴ And Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold of the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and brought it into the tabernacle of meeting, for a memorial for the children of Israel before the LORD.

⁹ Only take heed to yourself, and keep your soul diligently, lest you forget the things which your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life: but teach them to your sons, and your sons' sons;

²³ Take heed unto yourselves, lest you forget the covenant of the LORD your God, which he made with you, and make you a graven image, or the likeness of anything, which the LORD your God has forbidden you.

² That you shall take of the first of all the fruit of the earth, which you shall bring of your land that the LORD your God gives you, and shall put it in a basket, and shall go unto the place which the LORD your God shall choose to place his name there. ³ And you shall go unto the priest that shall be in those days, and say unto him, I profess this day unto the LORD your God, that I am come unto the country which the LORD swore unto our fathers to give us. ⁴ And the priest shall take the basket out of your hand, and set it down before the altar of the LORD your God. ⁵ And you shall speak and say before the LORD your God, An Aramean ready to perish was my father, and he went down into Egypt, and sojourned there with a few, and became there a nation, great, mighty, and populous: ⁶ And the Egyptians mistreated us, and afflicted us, and laid upon us hard bondage: ⁷ And when we cried unto the LORD God of our fathers, the LORD heard our voice, and looked on our affliction, and our labor, and our oppression: ⁸ And the LORD brought us forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with great terror, and with signs, and with wonders: ⁹ And he has brought us into this place, and has given us this land, even a land that flows with milk and honey. ¹⁰ And now, behold, I have brought the firstfruits of the land, which you, O LORD, have given me. And you shall set it before the LORD your God, and worship before the LORD your God: ¹¹ And you shall rejoice in every good thing which the LORD your God has given unto you, and unto your house, you, and the Levite, and the stranger that is among you. ¹² When you have finished tithing all the tithes of your increase the third year, which is the year of tithing, and have given it unto the Levite, the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, that they may eat within your gates, and be filled; ¹³ Then you shall say before the LORD your God, I have removed the sacred portion out of my house, and also have given them unto the Levite, and unto the stranger, to the fatherless, and to the widow, according to all your commandments which you have commanded me: I have not transgressed your commandments, neither have I forgotten them: ¹⁴ I have not eaten of it in my mourning, neither have I taken away any of it for any unclean use, nor given any of it for the dead: but I have hearkened to the voice of the LORD my God, and have done according to all that you have commanded me. ¹⁵ Look down from your holy habitation, from heaven, and bless your people Israel, and the land which you have given us, as you swore unto our fathers, a land that flows with milk and honey.

and there shall you serve other gods, of wood and stone. ³⁷ And you shall become a horror, a proverb, and a byword, among all nations where the LORD shall lead you. ³⁸ You shall carry much seed out into the field, and shall gather but little in; for the locust shall consume it. ³⁹ You shall plant vineyards, and dress them, but shall neither drink of the wine, nor gather the grapes; for the worms shall eat them. ⁴⁰ You shall have olive trees throughout all your borders, but you shall not anoint yourself with the oil; for your olives shall drop off. ⁴¹ You shall beget sons and daughters, but you shall not enjoy them; for they shall go into captivity. ⁴² All your trees and fruit of your land shall the locust consume. ⁴³ The stranger that is among you shall rise up above you higher and higher; and you shall come down lower and lower. ⁴⁴ He shall lend to you, and you shall not lend to him: he shall be the head, and you shall be the tail. ⁴⁵ Moreover all these curses shall come upon you, and shall pursue you, and overtake you, till you are destroyed; because you hearkened not unto the voice of the LORD your God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which he commanded you: ⁴⁶ And they shall be upon you for a sign and for a wonder, and upon your descendants forever. ⁴⁷ Because you served not the LORD your God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things; ⁴⁸ Therefore shall you serve your enemies which the LORD shall send against you, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things: and he shall put a yoke of iron upon your neck, until he has destroyed you. ⁴⁹ The LORD shall bring a nation against you from afar, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flies; ⁵⁹ Then the LORD will make your plagues abundant, and the plagues of your descendants, even great plagues, and of long continuance, and severe sicknesses, of long continuance. ⁶⁰ Moreover he will bring upon you all the diseases of Egypt, which you were afraid of; and they shall cleave unto you. ⁶¹ Also every sickness, and every plague, which is not written in the book of this law, them will the LORD bring upon you, until you are destroyed. ⁶² And you shall be left few in number, whereas you were as the stars of heaven for multitude; because you would not obey the voice of the LORD your God. ⁶³ And it shall come to pass, that as the LORD rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you; so the LORD will rejoice over you to destroy you, and to bring you to nothing; and you shall be plucked from off the land where you go to possess it. ⁶⁴ And the LORD shall scatter you among all people, from the one end of the earth even unto the other; and there you shall serve other gods, which neither you nor your fathers have known, even wood and stone. ⁶⁵ And among these nations shall you find no ease, neither shall the sole of your foot have rest: but the LORD shall give you there a trembling heart, and failing of eyes, and sorrow of mind: ⁶⁶ And your life shall hang in doubt before you; and you shall fear day and night, and shall have no assurance of your life: ⁶⁷ In the morning you shall say, Would God it were evening! and at evening you shall say, Would God it were morning! because of the fear of your heart by which you shall fear, and because of the sight of your eyes which you shall see. ⁶⁸ And the LORD shall bring you into Egypt again in ships, by the way of which I spoke unto you, You shall see it no more again: and there you shall be sold unto your enemies as male and female slaves, and no man shall buy you.

¹⁹ And it comes to pass, when he hears the words of this curse, that he blesses himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk in the imagination of my heart, to add drunkenness to thirst: ²⁰ The LORD will not spare him, but then the anger of the LORD and his jealousy shall smoke against that man, and all the curses that are written in this book shall lie upon him, and the LORD shall blot out his name from under heaven. ²¹ And the LORD shall separate him unto evil out of all the tribes of Israel, according to all the curses of the covenant that are written in this book of the law: ²² So that the generation to come of your children that shall rise up after you, and the stranger that shall come from a far land, shall say, when they see the plagues of that land, and the sicknesses which the LORD has laid upon it; ²³ And that the whole land thereof is brimstone, and salt, and burning, that it is not sown, nor does it bear, nor any grass grows therein, like the overthrow of Sodom, and Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboim, which the LORD overthrew in his anger, and in his wrath: ²⁴ Even all nations shall say, Why has the LORD done thus unto this land? what does the heat of this great anger mean? ²⁵ Then men shall say, Because they have forsaken the covenant of the LORD God of their fathers, which he made with them when he brought them forth out of the land of Egypt: ²⁶ For they went and served other gods, and worshiped them, gods whom they knew not, and whom he had not given unto them: ²⁷ And the anger of the LORD was kindled against this land, to bring upon it all the curses that are written in this book: ²⁸ And the LORD rooted them out of their land in anger, and in wrath, and in great indignation, and cast them into another land, as it is this day. ²⁹ The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.

¹⁸ Who is a God like unto you, who pardons iniquity, and passes by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retains not his anger forever, because he delights in mercy. ¹⁹ He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and you will cast all their sins into the depths of the sea. ²⁰ You will show truth to Jacob, and mercy to Abraham, which you have sworn unto our fathers from the days of old.

¹⁷ Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be on the vines; the labor of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no food; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: ¹⁸ Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.

⁴ Is it time for you, yourselves, to dwell in your paneled houses, and this house lie in ruins? ⁵ Now therefore thus says the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways. ⁶ You have sown much, and bring in little; you eat, but you have not enough; you drink, but you are not filled with drink; you clothe yourselves, but no one is warm; and he that earns wages earns wages to put it into a bag with holes. ⁷ Thus says the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways. ⁸ Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, says the LORD. ⁹ You looked for much, and, lo, it came to little; and when you brought it home, I did blow it away. Why? says the LORD of hosts. Because of my house that is in ruins, and you run every man unto his own house.

¹⁹ Is the seed yet in the barn? yea, as yet the vine, and the fig tree, and the pomegranate, and the olive tree, have not brought forth: but from this day will I bless you.

³ Then said he unto me, This is the curse that goes forth over the face of the whole earth: for every one that steals shall be cut off according to the writing on this side; and every one that swears falsely shall be cut off according to the writing on that side. ⁴ I will bring it forth, says the LORD of hosts, and it shall enter into the house of the thief, and into the house of him that swears falsely by my name: and it shall remain in the midst of his house, and shall consume it with its timber and its stones.

¹² And I will strengthen them in the LORD; and they shall walk up and down in his name, says the LORD.

² If you will not hear, and if you will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, says the LORD of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because you do not lay it to heart.

⁶ The law of truth was in his mouth, and iniquity was not found in his lips: he walked with me in peace and equity, and did turn many away from iniquity.

⁸ Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed me. But you say, How have we robbed you? In tithes and offerings. ⁹ You are cursed with a curse: for you have robbed me, even this whole nation. ¹⁰ Bring you all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house, and test me now in this, says the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

³⁹ But I say unto you, That you resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also. ⁴⁰ And if any man will sue you at the law, and take away your coat, let him have your cloak also. ⁴¹ And whosoever shall compel you to go a mile, go with him two.

²⁴ And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep. ²⁵ And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish. ²⁶ And he said unto them, Why are you fearful, O you of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.

⁴² And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.

²⁵ At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank you, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hid these things from the wise and prudent, and have revealed them unto babes.

²⁸ Come unto me, all you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. ²⁹ Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and you shall find rest unto your souls. ³⁰ For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

¹¹ He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.

⁴⁴ Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; which when a man has found, he hides, and for joy thereof goes and sells all that he has, and buys that field. ⁴⁵ Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking fine pearls: ⁴⁶ Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.

²⁶ For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

²³ Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, justice, mercy, and faith: these ought you to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

⁶ And you shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that you be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.

¹⁵ When you therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoever reads, let him understand:)

⁴⁰ And he said unto them, Why are you so fearful? how is it that you have no faith?

³⁰ But he shall receive a hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brothers, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.

⁷ For you have the poor with you always, and whenever you will you may do them good: but me you have not always. ⁸ She has done what she could: she has come beforehand to anoint my body for burying.

¹⁰ And Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went unto the chief priests, to betray him unto them. ¹¹ And when they heard it, they were glad, and promised to give him money. And he sought how he might conveniently betray him. ¹² And the first day of unleavened bread, when they killed the passover, his disciples said unto him, Where will you that we go and prepare that you may eat the passover? ¹³ And he sent forth two of his disciples, and said unto them, Go into the city, and there shall meet you a man bearing a pitcher of water: follow him. ¹⁴ And wherever he shall go in, say to the owner of the house, The Master says, Where is the guest room, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples? ¹⁵ And he will show you a large upper room furnished and prepared: there make ready for us. ¹⁶ And his disciples went forth, and came into the city, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover. ¹⁷ And in the evening he came with the twelve. ¹⁸ And as they sat and did eat, Jesus said, Verily I say unto you, One of you who eats with me shall betray me. ¹⁹ And they began to be sorrowful, and to say unto him one by one, Is it I? and another said, Is it I? ²⁰ And he answered and said unto them, It is one of the twelve, that dips with me in the dish. ²¹ The Son of man indeed goes, as it is written of him: but woe to that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! good were it for that man if he had never been born.

⁷⁹ To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.

⁵² And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.

¹³ But when you give a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind: ¹⁴ And you shall be blessed; for they cannot recompense you: for you shall be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.

¹⁵ And he said unto them, You are they who justify yourselves before men; but God knows your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

⁹ But when you shall hear of wars and tumults, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not yet.

¹⁸ But there shall not a hair of your head perish. ¹⁹ In your patience you will gain your souls. ²⁰ And when you shall see Jerusalem surrounded with armies, then know that its desolation is near. ²¹ Then let them who are in Judea flee to the mountains; and let them who are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the country enter into it. ²² For these are the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. ²³ But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that nurse children, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people. ²⁴ And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. ²⁵ And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; ²⁶ Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking toward those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. ²⁷ And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. ²⁸ And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draws near.

³ All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

³¹ Then said Jesus to those Jews who believed on him, If you continue in my word, then are you my disciples indeed;

⁴⁹ For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father who sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. ⁵⁰ And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.

¹ Let not your heart be troubled: you believe in God, believe also in me.

²¹ He that has my commandments, and keeps them, he it is that loves me: and he that loves me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. ²² Judas said unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that you will manifest yourself unto us, and not unto the world? ²³ Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man loves me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. ²⁴ He that loves me not keeps not my sayings: and the word which you hear is not mine, but the Father's who sent me.

⁶ If a man abides not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. ⁷ If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done unto you.

¹⁵ From now on I call you not servants; for the servant knows not what his lord does: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

⁴⁷ Praising God, and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as were being saved.

⁶ And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the guards before the door kept the prison.

¹ Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

¹⁸ For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

²⁵ For I would not, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles comes in.

¹⁶ Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.

¹⁸ If it be possible, as much as lies in you, live peaceably with all men. ¹⁹ Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, says the Lord. ²⁰ Therefore if your enemy hungers, feed him; if he thirsts, give him drink: for in so doing you shall heap coals of fire on his head. ²¹ Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

⁷ Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honor to whom honor.

¹⁷ For the kingdom of God is not food and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. ¹⁸ For he that in these things serves Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men.

¹³ Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Spirit.

¹⁸ Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seems to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. ¹⁹ For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He takes the wise in their own craftiness. ²⁰ And again, The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain. ²¹ Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours; ²² Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours; ²³ And you are Christ's; and Christ is God's.

⁶ But brother goes to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers. ⁷ Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because you go to law one with another. Why do you not rather take wrong? why do you not rather allow yourselves to be defrauded? ⁸ Nay, you do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren.

¹ Now concerning things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffs up, but love edifies. ² And if any man thinks that he knows anything, he knows nothing yet as he ought to know.

³¹ Whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatsoever you do, do all to the glory of God.

³² But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.

² Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God has prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.

³ Since you are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshly tables of the heart.

¹ Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not;

¹⁶ For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. ¹⁷ For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, works for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;

¹⁰ As sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.

² How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality. ³ For to their ability, I bear record, yea, and beyond their ability they were willing of themselves;

⁸ I speak not by commandment, but to prove by the earnestness of others, the sincerity of your love. ⁹ For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that you through his poverty might be rich.

¹¹ Now therefore perform the doing of it; that as there was a readiness to will, so there may be a performance also out of that which you have.

¹⁶ But thanks be to God, who put the same earnest care into the heart of Titus for you.

³ Yet have I sent the brethren, lest our boasting of you should be in vain in this behalf; that, as I said, you may be ready:

⁶ But this I say, He who sows sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he who sows bountifully shall reap also bountifully. ⁷ Every man according as he purposes in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loves a cheerful giver. ⁸ And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: ⁹ (As it is written, He has dispersed abroad; he has given to the poor: his righteousness remains forever. ¹⁰ Now he that ministers seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;) ¹¹ Being enriched in everything to all bountifulness, who causes through us thanksgiving to God.

²¹ Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revelings, and such like: of which I tell you beforehand, as I have also told you in time past, that they who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

¹⁰ As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

¹² That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.

¹ Be you therefore followers of God, as dear children; ² And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us, and has given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling fragrance.

⁹ (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)

¹ Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. ² Honor your father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise; ³ That it may be well with you, and you may live long on the earth.

⁸ Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but rubbish, that I may win Christ, ⁹ And be found in him, not having my own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

⁶ Be anxious for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

⁸ Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. ⁹ Those things, which you have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

¹⁷ Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account. ¹⁸ But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, a fragrant offering, a sacrifice acceptable, well pleasing to God.

¹⁷ And whatsoever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father by him.

²³ And whatsoever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;

¹³ But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them who are asleep, that you sorrow not, even as others who have no hope. ¹⁴ For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also who sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

⁸ For bodily exercise profits for a little while: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.

¹⁸ That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to share;

²⁴ And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,

¹⁴ Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a people for his own, zealous of good works.

¹ Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip. ² For if the word spoken by angels was steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward; ³ How shall we escape, if we neglect so great a salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;

¹⁶ This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;

³ For consider him that endured such hostility of sinners against himself, lest you be wearied and faint in your minds.

⁵ And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks unto you as unto children, My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when you are rebuked of him: ⁶ For whom the Lord loves he chastens, and scourges every son whom he receives. ⁷ If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chastens not? ⁸ But if you be without chastisement, of which all are partakers, then are you illegitimate children, and not sons. ⁹ Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh who corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live? ¹⁰ For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness. ¹¹ Now no chastening for the present seems to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them who are trained by it. ¹² Therefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees;

⁵ If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all men liberally, and reproaches not; and it shall be given him.

¹⁵ If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, ¹⁶ And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be warmed and filled; yet you give them not those things which are needful to the body; what does it profit?

⁶ But he gives more grace. Therefore he says, God resists the proud, but gives grace unto the humble.

⁴ Behold, the hire of the laborers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, cries: and the cries of them who have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of hosts.

¹⁴ But if you suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are you: and, Be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;

⁵ Likewise, you younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resists the proud, and gives grace to the humble.

²⁴ Let that therefore abide in you, which you have heard from the beginning. If that which you have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, you also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.

²⁷ But the anointing which you have received of him abides in you, and you need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teaches you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it has taught you, you shall abide in him.

¹⁷ But whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother have need, and shuts up his heart of compassion from him, how dwells the love of God in him? ¹⁸ My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.

⁷ He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says unto the churches; To him that overcomes will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

² In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bore twelve manner of fruit, and yielded its fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
