Psalms 107:42

Proverbs 6:6-19

6 Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise: 7 Who having no guide, overseer, or ruler, 8 Provides her food in the summer, and gathers her food in the harvest. 9 How long will you sleep, O sluggard? when will you arise out of your sleep? 10 Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: 11 So shall your poverty come upon you like a vagabond, and your want like an armed man. 12 A worthless person, a wicked man, walks with a perverse mouth. 13 He winks with his eyes, he signals with his feet, he motions with his fingers; 14 Perversity is in his heart, he devises evil continually; he sows discord. 15 Therefore shall his calamity come suddenly; suddenly shall he be broken without remedy. 16 These six things does the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: 17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18 A heart that devises wicked imaginations, feet that are swift in running to evil, 19 A false witness that speaks lies, and he that sows discord among brethren.

Proverbs 6:32

32 But whosoever commits adultery with a woman lacks understanding: he that does it destroys his own soul.

Proverbs 10:13

13 In the lips of him that has understanding wisdom is found: but a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding.

Proverbs 12:11

11 He that tills his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that follows vain persons is void of understanding.

Ecclesiastes 4:1-8

1 So I returned, and considered all the oppressions that are done under the sun: and behold the tears of such as were oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors there was power; but they had no comforter. 2 Therefore I praised the dead who are already dead more than the living who are yet alive. 3 Yea, better is he than both, who has not yet been, who has not seen the evil work that is done under the sun. 4 Again, I considered all toil, and every skillful work, that for this a man is envied by his neighbor. This is also vanity and grasping after the wind. 5 The fool folds his hands together, and eats his own flesh. 6 Better is a handful with quietness, than both hands full with toil and grasping for the wind. 7 Then I returned, and I saw vanity under the sun. 8 There is one alone, and there is not a second; yea, he has neither child nor brother: yet is there no end of all his labor; neither is his eye satisfied with riches; neither says he, For whom do I labor, and deprive my soul of good? This is also vanity, yea, it is a heavy travail.

Ecclesiastes 7:15

15 All things have I seen in the days of my vanity: there is a just man that perishes in his righteousness, and there is a wicked man that prolongs his life in his wickedness.

Ecclesiastes 8:9-11

9 All this have I seen, and applied my heart unto every work that is done under the sun: there is a time in which one man rules over another to his own hurt. 10 And so I saw the wicked buried, who had come and gone from the holy place, and they were forgotten in the city where they had so done: this is also vanity. 11 Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.
