¹⁵ For then shall you lift up your face without spot; yea, you shall be steadfast, and shall not fear:

⁵ But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very angry, and his countenance fell. ⁶ And the LORD said unto Cain, Why are you angry? and why is your countenance fallen?

¹⁵ If I am wicked, woe unto me; and if I am righteous, yet can I not lift up my head. I am full of disgrace; therefore see my affliction;

²⁶ For then shall you have your delight in the Almighty, and shall lift up your face unto God.

⁶ Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect unto all your commandments. ⁷ I will praise you with uprightness of heart, when I shall have learned your righteous judgments.

²⁶ In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.

¹ The wicked flee when no man pursues: but the righteous are bold as a lion.

¹² For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom, but by the grace of God, we have conducted ourselves in the world, and more abundantly toward you.

⁸ I desire therefore that men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

²⁸ And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.

¹⁹ And by this we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him. ²⁰ For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things. ²¹ Beloved, if our heart condemns us not, then have we confidence toward God. ²² And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
