²¹ They forgot God their saviour, who had done great things in Egypt;

³⁴ Or hath God assayed to go and take Him a nation from the midst of another nation, by trials, by signs, and by wonders, and by war, and by a mighty hand, and by an outstretched arm, and by great terrors, according to all that the LORD your God did for you in Egypt before thine eyes?

²² And the LORD showed signs and wonders, great and sore, upon Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his house, before our eyes.

¹⁸ thou shalt not be afraid of them; thou shalt well remember what the LORD thy God did unto Pharaoh, and unto all Egypt: ¹⁹ the great trials which thine eyes saw, and the signs, and the wonders, and the mighty hand, and the outstretched arm, whereby the LORD thy God brought thee out; so shall the LORD thy God do unto all the peoples of whom thou art afraid.

²¹ He is thy glory, and He is thy God, that hath done for thee these great and tremendous things, which thine eyes have seen.

¹⁷ They sacrificed unto demons, no-gods, gods that they knew not, new gods that came up of late, which your fathers dreaded not. ¹⁸ Of the Rock that begot thee thou wast unmindful, and didst forget God that bore thee.

¹⁰ and didst show signs and wonders upon Pharaoh, and on all his servants, and on all the people of his land; for Thou knewest that they dealt proudly against them; and didst get Thee a name, as it is this day. ¹¹ And Thou didst divide the sea before them, so that they went through the midst of the sea on the dry land; and their pursuers Thou didst cast into the depths, as a stone into the mighty waters.

¹³ Thou didst break the sea in pieces by Thy strength; Thou didst shatter the heads of the sea-monsters in the waters. ¹⁴ Thou didst crush the heads of leviathan, Thou gavest him to be food to the folk inhabiting the wilderness.

¹¹ And they forgot His doings, and His wondrous works that He had shown them. ¹² Marvellous things did He in the sight of their fathers, in the land of Egypt, in the field of Zoan.

⁴² They remembered not His hand, nor the day when He redeemed them from the adversary. ⁴³ How He set His signs in Egypt, and His wonders in the field of Zoan; ⁴⁴ And turned their rivers into blood, so that they could not drink their streams. ⁴⁵ He sent among them swarms of flies, which devoured them; and frogs, which destroyed them. ⁴⁶ He gave also their increase unto the caterpillar, and their labour unto the locust. ⁴⁷ He destroyed their vines with hail, and their sycamore-trees with frost. ⁴⁸ He gave over their cattle also to the hail, and their flocks to fiery bolts. ⁴⁹ He sent forth upon them the fierceness of His anger, wrath, and indignation, and trouble, a sending of messengers of evil. ⁵⁰ He levelled a path for His anger; He spared not their soul from death, but gave their life over to the pestilence; ⁵¹ And smote all the first-born in Egypt, the first-fruits of their strength in the tents of Ham;

¹³ They soon forgot His works; they waited not for His counsel;

⁹ He sent signs and wonders into the midst of thee, O Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his servants.

² Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for GOD the LORD is my strength and song; and He is become my salvation.'

²¹ Declare ye, and bring them near, yea, let them take counsel together: Who hath announced this from ancient time, and declared it of old? Have not I the LORD? And there is no God else beside Me, a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside Me.

⁸ For He said: 'Surely, they are My people, children that will not deal falsely'; so He was their Saviour.

³² Can a maid forget her ornaments, or a bride her attire? Yet My people have forgotten Me days without number.

⁷ But I will have compassion upon the house of Judah, and will save them by the LORD their God, and will not save them by bow, nor by sword, nor by battle, nor by horses, nor by horsemen.'

⁴⁷ And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.

³ but in his own seasons manifested his word in the message, wherewith I was intrusted according to the commandment of God our Saviour,

¹⁰ not purloining, but showing all good fidelity, that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.

⁴ But when the kindness of God our Saviour, and his love toward man, appeared, ⁵ not by works done in righteousness, which we did ourselves, but according to his mercy he saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, ⁶ which he poured out upon us richly, through Jesus Christ our Saviour,
