²⁴ O wretched man that I am, who shall deliuer me from the body of this death!

²⁶ And vnto the mayd thou shalt do nothing, because there is in the mayde no cause of death: for as when a man riseth against his neighbour and woundeth him to death, so is this matter. ²⁷ For he found her in the fieldes: the betrothed mayde cryed, and there was no man to succour her.

³⁸ Then what prayer, and supplication so euer shalbe made of any man or of all thy people Israel, when euery one shall knowe the plague in his owne heart, and stretch foorth his handes in this house,

⁶ I fainted in my mourning: I cause my bed euery night to swimme, and water my couch with my teares.

³ When I helde my tongue, my bones consumed, or when I roared all the day, ⁴ (For thine hand is heauie vpon me, day and night: and my moysture is turned into ye drought of summer. Selah)

² For thine arrowes haue light vpon me, and thine hand lyeth vpon me.

⁸ I am weakened and sore broken: I roare for the very griefe of mine heart. ⁹ Lord, I powre my whole desire before thee, and my sighing is not hid from thee. ¹⁰ Mine heart panteth: my strength faileth me, and the light of mine eyes, euen they are not mine owne.

¹¹ Saying, God hath forsaken him: pursue and take him, for there is none to deliuer him.

¹² For he shall deliuer the poore when he cryeth: the needie also, and him that hath no helper.

³ I did thinke vpon God, and was troubled: I praied, and my spirit was full of anguish. Selah. ⁴ Thou keepest mine eyes waking: I was astonied and could not speake. ⁵ Then I considered the daies of olde, and the yeeres of ancient time. ⁶ I called to remembrance my song in the night: I communed with mine owne heart, and my spirit searched diligently. ⁷ Will the Lord absent him selfe for euer? and will he shewe no more fauour? ⁸ Is his mercie cleane gone for euer? doeth his promise faile for euermore? ⁹ Hath God forgotten to be mercifull? hath he shut vp his teder mercies in displeasure? Selah.

⁵ Free among the dead, like the slaine lying in the graue, whome thou remembrest no more, and they are cut off from thine hand.

¹⁴ Because he hath loued me, therefore will I deliuer him: I will exalt him because hee hath knowen my Name. ¹⁵ He shall call vpon me, and I wil heare him: I will be with him in trouble: I will deliuer him, and glorifie him.

²⁰ That he might heare the mourning of the prisoner, and deliuer the children of death:

²⁰ Mine heart breaketh for the desire to thy iudgements alway.

⁸¹ CAPH. My soule fainteth for thy saluation: yet I waite for thy worde. ⁸² Mine eyes faile for thy promise, saying, when wilt thou comfort me? ⁸³ For I am like a bottell in the smoke: yet doe I not forget thy statutes.

¹³¹ I opened my mouth and panted, because I loued thy commandements.

¹⁴³ Trouble and anguish are come vpon me: yet are thy commandements my delite.

¹⁷⁶ I haue gone astraye like a lost sheepe: seeke thy seruant, for I doe not forget thy commandements.

¹ A song of degrees. Out of the deepe places haue I called vnto thee, O Lord. ² Lord, heare my voyce: let thine eares attend to the voyce of my prayers. ³ If thou, O Lord, straightly markest iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?

⁴ And the Lord said vnto him, Goe through the middes of the citie, euen through the middes of Ierusalem and set a marke vpon the foreheads of them that mourne, and cry for all the abominations that be done in the middes thereof.

¹⁹ He will turne againe, and haue compassion vpon vs: he will subdue our iniquities, and cast all their sinnes into the bottome of the sea.

¹¹ Thou also shalt be saued through the blood of thy couenant. I haue loosed thy prisoners out of the pit wherein is no water. ¹² Turne you to the strong holde, ye prisoners of hope: euen to day doe I declare, that I will render the double vnto thee.

⁴ Blessed are they that mourne: for they shall be comforted.

⁶ Blessed are they which hunger and thirst for righteousnes: for they shalbe filled.

¹⁸ The Spirit of the Lord is vpon mee, because he hath anoynted me, that I should preach the Gospel to the poore: he hath sent mee, that I should heale the broken hearted, that I should preach deliuerance to the captiues, and recouering of sight to the blinde, that I should set at libertie them that are bruised:

⁶ Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sinne might be destroied, that henceforth we should not serue sinne.

² For the Lawe of the Spirite of life, which is in Christ Iesus, hath freed mee from the lawe of sinne and of death.

¹³ For if ye liue after the flesh, ye shall die: but if yee mortifie the deedes of the body by the Spirit, ye shall liue.

²⁶ Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we knowe not what to pray as wee ought: but the Spirit it selfe maketh request for vs with sighs, which cannot be expressed.

⁸ For brethren, we woulde not haue you ignorant of our affliction, which came vnto vs in Asia, howe we were pressed out of measure passing strength, so that we altogether doubted, euen of life. ⁹ Yea, we receiued the sentence of death in our selues, because we shoulde not trust in our selues, but in God, which rayseth the dead. ¹⁰ Who deliuered vs from so great a death, and doeth deliuer vs: in whom we trust, that yet hereafter he will deliuer vs,

⁷ And lest I should be exalted out of measure through the aboundance of reuelations, there was giuen vnto me a pricke in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet mee, because I should not be exalted out of measure. ⁸ For this thing I besought the Lord thrise, that it might depart from me. ⁹ And he said vnto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my power is made perfect through weakenesse. Very gladly therefore will I reioyce rather in mine infirmities, that the power of Christ may dwell in me.

¹¹ In whome also yee are circumcised with circumcision made without handes, by putting off the sinfull body of the flesh, through the circumcision of Christ,

¹⁸ And the Lord will deliuer me from euery euil worke, and will preserue me vnto his heauenly kingdome: to whome be praise for euer and euer, Amen.

¹⁴ Who gaue him selfe for vs, that hee might redeeme vs from all iniquitie, and purge vs to bee a peculiar people vnto himselfe, zealous of good woorkes. ¹⁵ And that he might deliuer all them, which for feare of death were all their life time subiect to bondage.

⁴ And God shall wipe away all teares from their eyes: and there shalbe no more death, neither sorow, neither crying, neither shall there be any more paine: for the first things are passed.
