²³ And he said unto all, If any man would come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

³⁸ And he that doth not take his cross and follow after me, is not worthy of me. ³⁹ He that findeth his life shall lose it; and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

²⁵ He that loveth his life loseth it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal. ²⁶ If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will the Father honour.
