¹ And he called the twelve together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.

¹ And he called unto him his twelve disciples, and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of disease and all manner of sickness. ² Now the names of the twelve apostles are these: The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the [son] of Zebedee, and John his brother; ³ Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the [son] of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus; ⁴ Simon the Cananaean, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him. ⁵ These twelve Jesus sent forth, and charged them, saying, Go not into [any] way of the Gentiles, and enter not into any city of the Samaritans:

¹⁹ I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

¹³ And he goeth up into the mountain, and calleth unto him whom he himself would: and they went unto him. ¹⁴ And he appointed twelve, that they might be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach, ¹⁵ and to have authority to cast out devils: ¹⁶ and Simon he surnamed Peter; ¹⁷ and James the [son] of Zebedee, and John the brother of James; and them he surnamed Boanerges, which is, Sons of thunder: ¹⁸ and Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the [son] of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Cananaean, ¹⁹ and Judas Iscariot, which also betrayed him. And he cometh into a house.

⁷ And he called unto him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two; and he gave them authority over the unclean spirits; ⁸ and he charged them that they should take nothing for [their] journey, save a staff only; no bread, no wallet, no money in their purse; ⁹ but [to go] shod with sandals: and, [said he], put not on two coats. ¹⁰ And he said unto them, Wheresoever ye enter into a house, there abide till ye depart thence. ¹¹ And whatsoever place shall not receive you, and they hear you not, as ye go forth thence, shake off the dust that is under your feet for a testimony unto them. ¹² And they went out, and preached that [men] should repent. ¹³ And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them.

¹⁷ And these signs shall follow them that believe: in my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; ¹⁸ they shall take up serpents, and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall in no wise hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

¹³ And when it was day, he called his disciples: and he chose from them twelve, whom also he named apostles; ¹⁴ Simon, whom he also named Peter, and Andrew his brother, and James and John, and Philip and Bartholomew, ¹⁵ and Matthew and Thomas, and James [the son] of Alphaeus, and Simon which was called the Zealot, ¹⁶ and Judas [the son] of James, and Judas Iscariot, which was the traitor;

¹⁹ Behold, I have given you authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall in any wise hurt you.

¹² Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater [works] than these shall he do; because I go unto the Father.

⁸ But ye shall receive power, when the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be my witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea and Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

¹⁶ And by faith in his name hath his name made this man strong, whom ye behold and know: yea, the faith which is through him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.

³⁰ while thou stretchest forth thy hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of thy holy Servant Jesus.

³⁴ And Peter said unto him, AEneas, Jesus Christ healeth thee: arise, and make thy bed. And straightway he arose.
