Romans 4 Cross References - EJ2000

1 ¶ What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, has found? 2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he has reason to glory in himself, but not before God. 3 For what does the scripture say? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. 4 But unto him that works, the reward is not reckoned as grace, but as debt. 5 But to him that does not work, but believes in him that justifies the ungodly, the faith is counted as righteousness. 6 Even as David also describes the blessedness of the man unto whom God doth attribute righteousness without works, 7 saying, Blessed are those whose iniquities are forgiven and whose sins are covered. 8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord does not impute sin. 9 ¶ Is this blessedness, therefore, only upon the circumcision or also upon the uncircumcision? for we say that faith was reckoned to Abraham as righteousness. 10 How was it then reckoned? when he was in circumcision or in uncircumcision? Not in circumcision, but in uncircumcision. 11 And he received the circumcision as a sign, as a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had, yet being uncircumcised, that he might be the father of all the uncircumcised believers, that it might be counted unto them also as righteousness, 12 that he be the father of the circumcision: not only to those who are of the circumcision, but also unto those who walk in the steps of the faith that was in our father Abraham before he was circumcised. 13 For the promise that he should be the heir of the world was not to Abraham or to his seed through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. 14 For if those who are of the law are the heirs, faith is in vain, and the promise annulled, 15 because the law works wrath; for where there is no law, there is no rebellion either. 16 Therefore by faith, that it might be by grace, to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed, not only to that which is of the law, but also to that which is of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all, 17 ¶ as it is written, As a father of many Gentiles have I placed thee before God, whom he believed, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which are not as those that are. 18 Who believed to wait against all hope, that he might become the father of many Gentiles, according to that which had been spoken unto him, So shall thy seed be. 19 And he did not weaken in faith: he considered not his own body now dead when he was about one hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara’s womb; 20 he doubted not the promise of God, with unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, 21 being fully persuaded that he was also powerful to do all that he had promised; 22 therefore, his faith was also attributed unto him as righteousness. 23 ¶ Now it is not written for his sake alone that it was so reckoned to him, 24 but for us also to whom it shall be so reckoned, that is, to those that believe in him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead, 25 who was delivered for our offenses and was raised again for our justification.

Genesis 25:1-34

1 ¶ Then again Abraham took a wife, and her name was Keturah. 2 And she bore him Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, and Shuah. 3 And Jokshan begat Sheba and Dedan. And the sons of Dedan were Asshurim, Letushim, and Leummim. 4 And the sons of Midian: Ephah, Epher, Enoch, Abida, and Eldaah. All these were the sons of Keturah. 5 And Abraham gave all that he had unto Isaac. 6 But unto the sons of the concubines, which Abraham had, Abraham gave gifts and sent them away from Isaac his son, while he yet lived, eastward, unto the east country. 7 And these were the days of the years of Abraham’s life which he lived, one hundred seventy-five years. 8 Then Abraham expired and died in a good old age, an old man and full of years, and was gathered to his people. 9 And his sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron the son of Zohar the Hittite, which is in front of Mamre; 10 the field which Abraham purchased of the sons of Heth, there was Abraham buried, and Sarah his wife. 11 ¶ And it came to pass after the death of Abraham, that God blessed his son Isaac; and Isaac dwelt by the well Lahairoi. {Heb. the Living One who sees me} 12 Now these are the generations of Ishmael, son of Abraham, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah’s handmaid, gave birth unto Abraham: 13 And these are the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, according to their lineages: the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebajoth, and Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam, 14 Mishma, Dumah, Massa, 15 Hadar, Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah. 16 These are the sons of Ishmael, and these are their names, by their towns and by their palaces; twelve princes according to their families. 17 And these are the years of the life of Ishmael, one hundred thirty-seven years; and Ishmael expired and died and was gathered unto his people. 18 And they dwelt from Havilah unto Shur, that is before Egypt, as thou goest toward Assyria; and he fell in the presence of all his brethren. 19 ¶ And these are the generations of Isaac, son of Abraham. Abraham begat Isaac; 20 and Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah to wife, the daughter of Bethuel, the Aramean of Padanaram, the sister to Laban the Aramean. 21 And Isaac prayed unto the LORD for his wife because she was barren; and the LORD accepted him, and Rebekah his wife conceived. 22 And the sons struggled together within her; and she said, If this is so, why should I live? And she went to enquire of the LORD. 23 And the LORD said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of peoples shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger. 24 And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb. 25 And the first came out red, all over like a hairy garment; and they called his name Esau. 26 And afterwards his brother came out with Esau’s heel grasped in his hand; and his name was called Jacob. And Isaac was sixty years old when Rebekah gave birth to them. 27 And the boys grew, and Esau was a cunning hunter, a man of the field; and Jacob was an upright man, remaining in the tents. 28 And Isaac loved Esau because he ate of his venison; but Rebekah loved Jacob. 29 ¶ And Jacob boiled pottage; and Esau came from the field, and he was faint; 30 and Esau said to Jacob, Give me to eat, I pray thee, of that red pottage; for I am faint. Therefore was his name called Edom. 31 And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright. 32 And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die; and what profit shall this birthright do to me? 33 And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he swore unto him and he sold his birthright unto Jacob. 34 Then Jacob gave Esau of the bread and of the pottage of lentils; and he ate and drank, and rose up, and went away. Thus Esau despised his birthright.

13 Where should I find flesh to give unto all these people? For they weep unto me, saying, Give us flesh that we may eat. 14 I am not able to bear all these people alone because it is too heavy for me. 15 And if thou must deal thus with me, kill me, I pray thee, out of hand, if I have found grace in thy sight; and let me not see my wretchedness. 16 ¶ Then the LORD said unto Moses, Gather unto me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom thou knowest to be elders of the people, and their princes; and bring them unto the tabernacle of the testimony that they may stand there with thee. 17 And I will come down and talk with thee there, and I will take of the spirit which is in thee and will put it upon them, and they shall bear the burden of the people with thee, that thou bear it not thyself alone. 18 But thou shalt say unto the people, Sanctify yourselves for tomorrow, and ye shall eat flesh, for ye have wept in the ears of the LORD, saying, Who shall give us flesh to eat? for it was better with us in Egypt. Therefore the LORD will give you flesh, and ye shall eat. 19 Ye shall not eat one day nor two days nor five days neither ten days nor twenty days, 20 But even a whole month, until it comes out of your nostrils and it becomes loathsome unto you, because ye have despised the LORD who is among you and have wept before him, saying, Why have we come forth out of Egypt? 21 Then Moses said, The people, among whom I am, are six hundred thousand footmen, and thou hast said, I will give them flesh that they may eat a whole month! 22 Shall sheep and oxen be slain for them, to suffice them? Or shall all the fish of the sea be gathered together for them, to suffice them? 23 Then the LORD said unto Moses, Is the LORD’s hand waxed short? What means the heat of this great anger? 25 Then men shall say, Because they have forsaken the covenant of the LORD God of their fathers, which he made with them when he brought them forth out of the land of Egypt; 26 for they went and served other gods and worshipped them, gods whom they knew not and who had not given anything unto them. 27 Therefore, the anger of the LORD was kindled against this land to bring upon it all the curses that are written in this book. 28 And the LORD rooted them out of their land in anger and in wrath and in great indignation and cast them into another land, as it is today.

17 Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing hidden from thee; 18 that thou dost show mercy in thousands and recompense the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their sons after them, the Great, the Mighty God, the LORD of the hosts, is his name, 19 great in counsel and magnificent in works: for thine eyes are open upon all the ways of the sons of men to give unto each one according to his ways and according to the fruit of his doings; 20 who hast set signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, even unto this day, and in Israel, and in the man, and hast made thee a name, as at this day; 21 and hast brought forth thy people Israel out of the land of Egypt with signs and with wonders, and with a strong hand and with a stretched out arm and with great terror; 22 and hast given them this land, which thou didst swear to their fathers to give them, a land flowing with milk and honey; 23 and they came in and possessed it; but they did not hear thy voice, neither did they walk in thy law; they have done nothing of all that thou didst command them to do, therefore thou hast caused all this evil to come upon them. 24 Behold the siege engines are come unto the city to take it; and the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans that fight against it because of the sword and of the famine and of the pestilence, and what thou hast spoken is come to pass; and, behold, thou dost see it. 25 And thou hast said unto me, O Lord GOD, Buy the field for money and take witnesses; and the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans. 26 ¶ Then came the word of the LORD unto Jeremiah, saying, 27 Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: peradventure shall any thing be covered unto me?

And they went. 5 Again he went out about the sixth and ninth hour and did likewise. 6 And about the eleventh hour he went out and found others standing idle and said unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle? 7 They say unto him, Because no one has hired us. He said unto them, Go ye also into the vineyard, and whatever is right, that shall ye receive. 8 So when evening was come, the lord of the vineyard said unto his steward, Call the labourers and give them their hire, beginning from the last unto the first. 9 And when those came that were hired about the eleventh hour, they received every man a denarius. 10 But when the first came, they supposed that they should have received more but they likewise received each one a denarius. 11 And when they had received it, they murmured against the husband of the house, 12 saying, These last have worked but one hour, and thou hast made them equal unto us who have borne the burden and heat of the day. 13 But he answered one of them and said, Friend, I do thee no wrong; didst not thou agree with me for a denarius? 14 Take that which is thine and go, for I desire to give unto this last one, even as unto thee. 15 Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is thine eye evil because I am good? 16 So the first shall be last, and the last first; for many are called, but few are chosen.

28 For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, neither is circumcision that which is done outwardly in the flesh; 29 but he is a Jew who is one inwardly, and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit and not in the letter, whose praise is not of men, but of God.

Romans 3:19-20

19 ¶ Now we know that all that the law says, it says to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may submit themselves unto God. 20 For by the deeds of the law, no flesh shall be justified in his sight; for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

Romans 3:20-22

20 For by the deeds of the law, no flesh shall be justified in his sight; for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

Romans 3:20-20

20 For by the deeds of the law, no flesh shall be justified in his sight; for by the law is the knowledge of sin. 21 But now, without the law, the righteousness of God has been manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets:

Romans 3:21-22

21 But now, without the law, the righteousness of God has been manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets: 22 the righteousness, that is, of God by the faith of Jesus, the Christ, for all and upon all those that believe in him, for there is no difference;

Romans 3:22

22 the righteousness, that is, of God by the faith of Jesus, the Christ, for all and upon all those that believe in him, for there is no difference;

Romans 3:22-22

22 the righteousness, that is, of God by the faith of Jesus, the Christ, for all and upon all those that believe in him, for there is no difference; 23 for all have sinned and are made destitute of the glory of God, 24 being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Jesus, the Christ,

Romans 3:24-26

24 being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Jesus, the Christ, 25 whom God purposed for reconciliation through faith in his blood for the manifestation of his righteousness, for the remission of sins that are past, by the patience of God,

Romans 3:25-26

25 whom God purposed for reconciliation through faith in his blood for the manifestation of his righteousness, for the remission of sins that are past, by the patience of God,

Romans 3:25

25 whom God purposed for reconciliation through faith in his blood for the manifestation of his righteousness, for the remission of sins that are past, by the patience of God, 26 manifesting in this time his righteousness that he only be the just one and the justifier of him that is of the faith of Jesus.

Romans 3:26-30

26 manifesting in this time his righteousness that he only be the just one and the justifier of him that is of the faith of Jesus.

Romans 3:26

26 manifesting in this time his righteousness that he only be the just one and the justifier of him that is of the faith of Jesus.

Romans 3:26-26

26 manifesting in this time his righteousness that he only be the just one and the justifier of him that is of the faith of Jesus. 27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? No, but by the law of faith.

Romans 3:27-30

27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? No, but by the law of faith.

Romans 3:27

27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? No, but by the law of faith. 28 Therefore, we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

Romans 3:28-30

28 Therefore, we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. 29 Is he the God of the Jews only? Is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also,

Romans 3:29

29 Is he the God of the Jews only? Is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also, 30 seeing it is one God who shall justify the circumcision by faith and the uncircumcision by faith. 31 Do we then make void the law through faith? No, in no wise; to the contrary, we establish the law.

Romans 4:2

2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he has reason to glory in himself, but not before God. 3 For what does the scripture say? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.

Romans 4:5

5 But to him that does not work, but believes in him that justifies the ungodly, the faith is counted as righteousness. 6 Even as David also describes the blessedness of the man unto whom God doth attribute righteousness without works,

Romans 4:9

9 ¶ Is this blessedness, therefore, only upon the circumcision or also upon the uncircumcision? for we say that faith was reckoned to Abraham as righteousness.

Romans 4:11

11 And he received the circumcision as a sign, as a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had, yet being uncircumcised, that he might be the father of all the uncircumcised believers, that it might be counted unto them also as righteousness, 12 that he be the father of the circumcision: not only to those who are of the circumcision, but also unto those who walk in the steps of the faith that was in our father Abraham before he was circumcised. 13 For the promise that he should be the heir of the world was not to Abraham or to his seed through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.

Romans 4:16

16 Therefore by faith, that it might be by grace, to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed, not only to that which is of the law, but also to that which is of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all,

Romans 4:16-18

16 Therefore by faith, that it might be by grace, to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed, not only to that which is of the law, but also to that which is of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all, 17 ¶ as it is written, As a father of many Gentiles have I placed thee before God, whom he believed, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which are not as those that are.

Romans 4:17

17 ¶ as it is written, As a father of many Gentiles have I placed thee before God, whom he believed, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which are not as those that are. 23 ¶ Now it is not written for his sake alone that it was so reckoned to him, 24 but for us also to whom it shall be so reckoned, that is, to those that believe in him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead,

Romans 4:24-5:2

24 but for us also to whom it shall be so reckoned, that is, to those that believe in him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead,

Romans 4:24

24 but for us also to whom it shall be so reckoned, that is, to those that believe in him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead, 25 who was delivered for our offenses and was raised again for our justification.

Romans 5:1

1 ¶ Justified therefore by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus, the Christ,

Romans 5:5

5 and the hope shall not be ashamed, because the love of God is poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit which is given unto us. 6 ¶ For the Christ, when we were yet weak, in his time died for the ungodly. 7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die, yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. 8 But God increased the price of his charity toward us in that while we were yet sinners the Christ died for us.

Romans 5:13

13 For until the law, sin was in the world; but the sin was not imputed, there being no law.

Romans 5:18-19

18 Therefore, in the same manner that by the iniquity of one guilt came upon all men unto condemnation, even so by the righteousness of one, grace came upon all men unto justification of life.

Romans 5:18

18 Therefore, in the same manner that by the iniquity of one guilt came upon all men unto condemnation, even so by the righteousness of one, grace came upon all men unto justification of life. 19 For as by one man’s disobedience, many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. 20 Moreover the law entered that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound, 21 so that in the same manner as sin has reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus, the Christ, our Lord.

Romans 6:1

1 ¶ What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound?

Romans 7:7

7 ¶ What shall we say then? Is the law sin? No, in no wise. But, I did not know sin except by the law; for neither would I have known lust if the law did not say, Thou shalt not covet.

Romans 7:7-25

7 ¶ What shall we say then? Is the law sin? No, in no wise. But, I did not know sin except by the law; for neither would I have known lust if the law did not say, Thou shalt not covet. 8 Then sin, when there was occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of lust. For without the law sin was as if it were dormant. 9 So that without the law I lived for some time; but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died. 10 And I found that the same commandment, which was unto life, was mortal unto me. 11 For sin, having had occasion, deceived me by the commandment and by it killed me. 12 So the law is truly holy, and the commandment holy and just and good. 13 Was then that which is good made death unto me? No, in no wise. But sin, to show itself sin by that which is good, worked death in me, making sin exceedingly sinful by the commandment. 14 ¶ For we now know that the law is spiritual, but I am carnal, sold unto subjection by sin. 15 For that which I do, I do not understand, and not even the good that I desire is what I do; but what I hate, that is what I do. 16 If then I do that which I do not desire, I approve that the law is good. 17 So that it is no longer I that do it, but sin that dwells in me. 18 And I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) dwells no good thing; for I have the desire, but I am not able to perform that which is good. 19 For I do not do the good that I desire; but the evil which I do not desire, that I do. 20 And if I do that which I do not desire, I am not working, but sin that dwells in me. 21 So that, desiring to do good, I find this law: evil is natural unto me. 22 For I delight with the law of God with the inward man, 23 but I see another law in my members which rebels against the law of my mind, bringing captive unto the law of sin which is in my members. 24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? 25 The grace of God, by Jesus, the Christ, our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin.

Romans 8:3

3 For that which was impossible to the law, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh

11 And if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he that raised up the Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwells in you.

24 For in hope we are saved, but hope that is seen is not hope; for what a man sees, he does not wait for.

Romans 8:29-30

29 ¶ For unto those whom he knew beforehand, he also marked out beforehand the way that they might be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 And unto those whom he did mark out beforehand the way, to these he also called; and to whom he called, these he also justified; and to whom he justified, these he also glorified.

Romans 8:30-30

30 And unto those whom he did mark out beforehand the way, to these he also called; and to whom he called, these he also justified; and to whom he justified, these he also glorified. 31 ¶ What shall we then say to these things? If God is for us, who shall be against us?

Romans 8:31-34

31 ¶ What shall we then say to these things? If God is for us, who shall be against us? 32 He that did not spare his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not also give us all things with him? 33 Who shall accuse the chosen of God’s? God is he that justifies them. 34 Who is he that condemns them? Christ, Jesus, is he who died and, even more, he that also rose again, who furthermore is at the right hand of God, who also makes entreaty for us.

Romans 8:38

38 Therefore I am certain that neither death nor life nor angels nor principalities nor powers nor things present nor things to come

Romans 9:6

6 ¶ Not as though the word of God has been deficient. For not all the descendants of Israel are Israelites;

Romans 9:6-7

6 ¶ Not as though the word of God has been deficient. For not all the descendants of Israel are Israelites; 7 neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are all sons, but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called. 8 That is, Those who are sons of the flesh, these are not the sons of God; but those who are sons of the promise are counted in the generation.

Romans 9:17

17 For the scripture saith of Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might show my power in thee and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth.

Romans 9:23-24

23 and making known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he has prepared unto glory? 24 Even us, whom he has called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles!

Romans 9:26

26 And it shall come to pass that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, there shall they be called sons of the living God.

Romans 9:30

30 ¶ What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, who did not follow after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, that is to say, the righteousness which is by faith,

Romans 9:32

32 Why? Because they followed it not by faith but, as it were, by the works (of the law); therefore, they stumbled on the stumblingstone; 33 as it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock that will cause some to fall, and whosoever believes in him shall not be ashamed.

Romans 10:3

3 For they, being ignorant of God’s righteousness and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. 4 For Christ is the end of the law, to give righteousness to every one that believes.

Romans 10:6

6 But thus saith the righteousness which is by faith, Say not in thine heart, Who shall ascend into heaven (that is, to bring the Christ down from above)?

Romans 10:9-10

9 that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart that God has raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto saving health. 11 For the scripture says, Whosoever believes on him shall not be ashamed. 12 ¶ For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Romans 11:2

2 God has not cast away his people whom he knew beforehand. Know ye not what the scripture says of Elijah? how speaking to God against Israel, he said,

Romans 11:6

6 And if by grace, then is it not by works; otherwise, the grace is no longer grace. But if it is of works, then it is no longer grace; otherwise, the work is no longer work.

Romans 11:35

35 Or who has first given unto him, that it be recompensed unto him again?

Romans 14:4

4 Who art thou that judgest another man’s servant? By his own master he stands or falls; and if he falls, he shall be made to stand, for God is powerful to make him stand.

Romans 14:21

21 It is good neither to eat flesh nor to drink wine nor do any thing by which thy brother stumbles or is offended or is sick.

Romans 15:4

4 For the things that were written beforehand were written for our instruction that we, through patient endurance and through the comfort of the scriptures, might have hope.

Romans 15:8-19

8 Now I say that Christ Jesus, was a minister of the circumcision, by the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers;

Romans 15:8

8 Now I say that Christ Jesus, was a minister of the circumcision, by the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers; 9 but that the Gentiles glorify God by mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess thee among the Gentiles and sing unto thy name. 10 And again he says, Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with his people. 11 And again, Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles; and magnify him, all the peoples. 12 And again, Isaiah says, There shall be a root of Jesse and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him the Gentiles shall wait for salvation. 13 ¶ And believing, the God of hope fills you with all joy and peace that ye may abound in hope by the virtue of the Holy Spirit. 14 ¶ But I am convinced regarding you, my brethren, that even without my exhortation ye are full of charity, full of all knowledge, so as to be able to admonish one another. 15 Nevertheless I have written, brethren, in part boldly, as admonishing you by the grace that is given to me of God, 16 being the minister of Jesus Christ, to the Gentiles, ministering the gospel of God, that the offering of the Gentiles might be well pleasing, sanctified by the Holy Spirit. 17 ¶ Therefore I have something to boast of in Christ Jesus, with regard to God.

Romans 15:17-19

17 ¶ Therefore I have something to boast of in Christ Jesus, with regard to God. 18 For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ has not wrought by me, unto the obedience of the Gentiles, with word and with deed, 19 with power of signs and wonders, in virtue of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem and round about unto Illyricum, I have filled the entire area with the gospel of the Christ.

1 Corinthians 1:28

28 and that which is vile of the world and that which is despised God has chosen, and things which are not, to bring to nought the things that are, 29 that no flesh should glory in his presence. 30 But of him ye are reborn in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom and righteousness and sanctification and redemption, 31 that, according as it is written, He that glories, let him glory in the Lord.

1 Corinthians 4:7

7 ¶ For who makes thee to judge? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, what dost thou glory of, as if thou hadst not received it?

1 Corinthians 6:9-11

9 ¶ Know ye not that the unjust shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not err: neither fornicators nor idolaters nor adulterers nor effeminate nor homosexuals 10 nor thieves nor covetous nor drunkards nor revilers nor extortioners shall inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you, but now ye are washed, but now ye are sanctified, but now ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and in the Spirit of our God.

1 Corinthians 7:18-19

18 Is anyone called being circumcised? Let him not become uncircumcised. Is anyone called in uncircumcision? Let him not be circumcised. 19 Circumcision is nothing and uncircumcision is nothing but the keeping of the commandments of God.

1 Corinthians 9:9-10

9 For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treads out the grain. Does God take care for oxen? 10 Or does he say it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that plows should plow in hope, and that he that threshes in hope should be partaker of his hope.

1 Corinthians 9:16

16 For though I preach the gospel, I have no reason to glory, for it is an obligation laid upon me; for woe is me, if I do not preach the gospel!

1 Corinthians 10:6

6 ¶ Now these things became types of us, that we should not lust after evil things as they lusted.

1 Corinthians 10:11

11 Now all these things happened unto them as types, and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages are come.

1 Corinthians 15:3-4

3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received: how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures 4 and that he was buried and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures

1 Corinthians 15:17

17 and if Christ is not raised, your faith is vain; ye are even yet in your sins.

1 Corinthians 15:45

45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a life-giving Spirit.

1 Corinthians 15:56

56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.

1 Corinthians 16:13

13 ¶ Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong.

2 Corinthians 1:22

22 who has also sealed us and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

2 Corinthians 3:7-9

7 But if the ministry of death in the letter engraved in stones was glorious, so that the sons of Israel could not steadfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance which glory was to fade away, 8 How shall not the ministry of the Spirit be for greater glory? 9 For if the ministry of condemnation had glory, much more shall the ministry of righteousness abound in glory.

2 Corinthians 5:12

12 ¶ For we do not commend ourselves again unto you, but give you occasion to glory on our behalf that ye may have something to answer those who glory in appearance, and not in heart.

2 Corinthians 5:19-20

19 for certainly God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them and having placed in us the word of reconciliation. 20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did exhort you by us; we beseech you in Christ’s name, be ye reconciled to God. 21 For he has made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

2 Corinthians 9:8

8 And God is able to make all grace abound in you that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:

2 Corinthians 11:12

12 But what I do, I will continue to do that I may take away the occasion from those who desire it to be found like unto us in that in which they glory.

2 Corinthians 11:22

22 ¶ Are they Hebrews? so am I. Are they Israelites? so am I. Are they the seed of Abraham? so am I.

2 Corinthians 11:30

30 If I must needs glory, I will glory of the things which concern my weakness.

2 Corinthians 12:1-9

1 ¶ Certainly it is not expedient for me to glory, but I will come to the visions and the revelations of the Lord. 2 I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell; God knows) was caught up to the third heaven. 3 And I know such a man (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell; God knows) 4 who was caught up into paradise and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter. 5 Of such a one I will glory, yet of myself I will not glory, except in my weaknesses. 6 Therefore if I should desire to glory in these things, I should not be a fool; for I would say the truth, but now I forbear lest anyone should think of me above that which he sees me to be or that he hears of me. 7 And lest the greatness of the revelations should exalt me above measure, there is given to me a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. 8 For this thing I besought the Lord three times that it might be taken from me. 9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee; for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly, therefore, I will rather glory in my weaknesses that the power of Christ may dwell in me. 10 Therefore I am content in weaknesses, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake, for when I am weak, then am I strong.

2 Corinthians 12:18

18 I besought Titus and with him I sent a brother. Did Titus defraud you? Did we not walk in the same Spirit and in the same steps?

Galatians 1:4

4 who gave himself for our sins that he might deliver us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father,

Galatians 2:16-17

16 knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. 17 But if, while we seek to be justified in Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of our sin? No, in no wise.

Galatians 2:21

21 I do not reject the grace of God, for if righteousness comes by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

Galatians 3:6-8

6 ¶ Even as Abraham believed God and it was accounted to him for righteousness. 7 Know ye therefore that those who are of faith, the same are the sons of Abraham.

Galatians 3:7

7 Know ye therefore that those who are of faith, the same are the sons of Abraham.

Galatians 3:7-12

7 Know ye therefore that those who are of faith, the same are the sons of Abraham. 8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles through faith, evangelized Abraham in advance, saying, In thee shall all the Gentiles be blessed.

Galatians 3:8-14

8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles through faith, evangelized Abraham in advance, saying, In thee shall all the Gentiles be blessed.

Galatians 3:8-9

8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles through faith, evangelized Abraham in advance, saying, In thee shall all the Gentiles be blessed.

Galatians 3:8-12

8 And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles through faith, evangelized Abraham in advance, saying, In thee shall all the Gentiles be blessed. 9 So then those who are of faith are blessed with Abraham, the believer.

Galatians 3:9-9

9 So then those who are of faith are blessed with Abraham, the believer.

Galatians 3:9-12

9 So then those who are of faith are blessed with Abraham, the believer. 10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, Cursed is every one that continues not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.

Galatians 3:10

10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, Cursed is every one that continues not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.

Galatians 3:10-12

10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, Cursed is every one that continues not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. 11 But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident, for The just shall live by faith.

Galatians 3:11-12

11 But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident, for The just shall live by faith. 12 And the law is not of faith, but The man that does the commandments shall live by them.

Galatians 3:12-12

12 And the law is not of faith, but The man that does the commandments shall live by them. 13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us, (for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangs on a tree),

Galatians 3:13

13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us, (for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangs on a tree), 14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

Galatians 3:14

14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

Galatians 3:16-18

16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He did not say, And to seeds, as of many, but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. 17 And this I say that regarding the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot cancel it, that it should make the promise of no effect. 18 For if the inheritance is of the law, it is no longer of promise; but God gave it to Abraham by promise.

Galatians 3:18-24

18 For if the inheritance is of the law, it is no longer of promise; but God gave it to Abraham by promise. 19 ¶ For what then serves the law? It was added because of rebellions until the seed should come to whom the promise was made, and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.

Galatians 3:19

19 ¶ For what then serves the law? It was added because of rebellions until the seed should come to whom the promise was made, and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator. 20 Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one. 21 Is the law then against the promises of God? No, in no wise, for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law. 22 But the scripture has concluded all under sin that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to the believers.

Galatians 3:22-24

22 But the scripture has concluded all under sin that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to the believers. 23 But before faith came, we were under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. 24 Therefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

Galatians 3:26-28

26 For ye are all sons of God by faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 Here there is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if ye are Christ’s, then ye are Abraham’s seed and heirs according to the promise.

Galatians 4:15

15 Where is then the blessedness ye spoke of? for I bear you record that if it had been possible, ye would have plucked out your own eyes and have given them to me.

Galatians 4:22-31

22 For it is written that Abraham had two sons, the one by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman. 23 But he who was of the bondwoman was born according to the flesh, but he of the freewoman was born through the promise. 24 Which things are an allegory; for these women are the two covenants: the one from the Mount Sinai, which begat unto slavery, which is Hagar. 25 For this Hagar or Sinai is a mount in Arabia, which corresponds to the one that is now Jerusalem, which together with her children is in slavery. 26 But the Jerusalem of above is free, which is the mother of us all. 27 For it is written, Rejoice, thou barren that bearest not; break forth into praise and cry, thou that travailest not: for the desolate has many more children than she who has a husband. 28 So that we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise. 29 But as then he that was born according to the flesh persecuted him that was born according to the Spirit, even so it is now. 30 Nevertheless what does the scripture say? Cast out the bondwoman and her son, for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman. 31 So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman, but of the free.

Galatians 5:4

4 Ye are empty of the Christ, whosoever of you that justify yourselves by the law; ye are fallen from grace. 5 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. 6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision avails anything nor uncircumcision, but faith which works by charity.

Galatians 6:13-14

13 For neither they themselves who are circumcised keep the law, but desire to have you circumcised that they may glory in your flesh. 14 But in no wise should I glory, except in the cross {Gr. stauros – stake} of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world. 15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision avails any thing nor uncircumcision, but a new creature. 16 And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them and mercy, and upon the Israel of God.

Ephesians 1:3

3 ¶ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly things in Christ;

Ephesians 1:13

13 In whom ye also trusted, hearing the word of truth, the gospel of your saving health; in whom also after ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of the promise,

Ephesians 1:18-20

18 illuminating the eyes of your understanding, that ye may know what is the hope of his calling and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints 19 and what is the exceeding greatness of his power in us who believe, by the operation of the power of his strength, 20 which operated in the Christ, raising him from the dead and setting him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,

Ephesians 2:1-5

1 ¶ And he has made you alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, 2 in which in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the will of the prince of the power of this air, the spirit that now works in the sons of disobedience, 3 among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind and were by nature the children of wrath, even as all the others. 4 ¶ But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great charity with which he loved us, 5 even as we were dead in sins, he has made us alive together with the Christ (by whose grace ye are saved)

Ephesians 2:5-5

5 even as we were dead in sins, he has made us alive together with the Christ (by whose grace ye are saved)

Ephesians 2:8-10

8 For by grace are ye saved through faith and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God,

Ephesians 2:8

8 For by grace are ye saved through faith and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God, 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Ephesians 2:9-10

9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God has prepared that we should walk in them. 11 ¶ Therefore remember that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who were called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh, which is made by hands, 12 that at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world, 13 but now in Christ Jesus ye who at another time were far off are made near by the blood of the Christ.

Ephesians 3:8

8 Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of the Christ

Ephesians 4:30

30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God with which ye are sealed for the day of redemption.

Ephesians 5:2

2 and walk in charity even as the Christ also has loved us and has given himself for us as an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savour.

Ephesians 5:6

6 Let no one deceive you with vain words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.

Ephesians 6:10

10 ¶ Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might.

Philippians 3:9

9 ¶ and be found in him, not having my own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

Colossians 3:6

6 for which things’ sake the wrath of God comes on the sons of disobedience,

Colossians 3:11

11 where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian nor Scythian, slave nor free: but Christ is all and in all.

1 Timothy 1:13-15

13 who was before a blasphemer and a persecutor and injurious, but I was received unto mercy because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. 14 And the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. 15 This is a faithful saying and worthy of acceptation by all, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am first.

1 Timothy 6:13

13 ¶ I give thee charge in the sight of God, who gives life to all things and before Christ Jesus, who testified before Pontius Pilate a good profession;

2 Timothy 1:9

9 who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the times of the ages,

2 Timothy 1:12

12 For which cause I also suffer these things; nevertheless, I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

2 Timothy 2:1

1 ¶ Thou, therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

2 Timothy 3:16-17

16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

Titus 2:14

14 who gave himself for us that he might redeem us from all iniquity and purify unto himself a people of his own, zealous of good works.

Titus 3:3-7

3 For we ourselves also were foolish in another time, rebellious, deceived, serving diverse lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. 4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, 5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, 6 which he poured out abundantly in us through Jesus, the Christ, our Saviour; 7 that being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Titus 3:7

7 that being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Philemon 1:18-19

18 If he has wronged thee or owes thee anything, put that on my account; 19 I Paul have written it with my own hand, I will repay it; albeit I do not say to thee how thou owest unto me even thine own self besides.

Hebrews 4:14-16

14 Having, therefore, a great high priest who penetrated the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast this profession of our hope. 15 For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us, therefore, come boldly unto the throne of his grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Hebrews 6:13-19

13 For when God promised unto Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he swore by himself, 14 saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee and multiplying I will multiply thee. 15 And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise. 16 For men verily swear by the greater, and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all controversy. 17 In which God, desiring to show more abundantly unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath, 18 that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us, 19 which we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters even into that which is within the veil,

Hebrews 7:19

19 for the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did, by which we draw near unto God.

Hebrews 7:28

28 For the law makes men high priests who have weakness; but the word of the oath, which was after the law, has made perfect a Son forever.

Hebrews 9:28

28 so also the Christ is offered once to take away the sins of many; and unto those that wait for him without sin he shall appear the second time unto saving health.

Hebrews 10:12-14

12 but this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, is seated at the right hand of God, 13 waiting for that which follows, that is, until his enemies are made his footstool. 14 For by one offering he has perfected for ever those that are sanctified.

Hebrews 11:7

7 By faith Noah, having received revelation of things not seen as yet, with great care prepared an ark to the saving of his house, by which he condemned the world and was made heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

Hebrews 11:11-19

11 By faith also Sara herself being sterile received strength to conceive seed and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she believed him to be faithful who had promised. 12 Therefore there sprang even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable.

Hebrews 11:12-19

12 Therefore there sprang even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable. 13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but seeing them afar off and believing them and embracing them and confessing that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.

Hebrews 11:13

13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but seeing them afar off and believing them and embracing them and confessing that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. 14 For those that say such things declare plainly that they seek their native country. 15 And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from which they came out, they might have had time to have returned. 16 But now they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one; therefore, God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared for them a city. 17 By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac, and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son, 18 of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called, 19 accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence he also received him in a figure.

Hebrews 11:19
