²⁴ Do not defile yourselves in any of these things; for in all these things the Gentiles which I cast out before you have defiled themselves;

³ You shall not do as they do in the land of Egypt, in which ye dwelt; nor shall you do as they do in the land of Canaan, where I bring you; neither shall ye walk in their statutes.

⁶ ¶ No man shall approach any woman that is near of kin to him, to uncover her nakedness. I am the LORD. ⁷ The nakedness of thy father or the nakedness of thy mother, thou shalt not uncover; she is thy mother; thou shalt not uncover her nakedness. ⁸ The nakedness of thy father’s wife thou shalt not uncover; it is thy father’s nakedness. ⁹ The nakedness of thy sister, the daughter of thy father or daughter of thy mother, whether she is born at home or born abroad, their nakedness thou shalt not uncover. ¹⁰ The nakedness of thy son’s daughter or of thy daughter’s daughter, their nakedness thou shalt not uncover; for theirs is thine own nakedness. ¹¹ The nakedness of thy father’s wife’s daughter, begotten of thy father, she is thy sister, thou shalt not uncover her nakedness. ¹² Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father’s sister; she is thy father’s near kinswoman. ¹³ Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy mother’s sister; for she is thy mother’s near kinswoman. ¹⁴ Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father’s brother, thou shalt not approach to his wife; she is thine aunt. ¹⁵ Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy daughter-in-law; she is thy son’s wife; thou shalt not uncover her nakedness. ¹⁶ Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy brother’s wife; it is thy brother’s nakedness. ¹⁷ Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of a woman and her daughter; neither shalt thou take her son’s daughter or her daughter’s daughter to uncover her nakedness; for they are her near kinswomen; it is wickedness. ¹⁸ Neither shalt thou take a woman together with her sister, to make her a rival, to uncover her nakedness, beside the other in her lifetime. ¹⁹ ¶ Also thou shalt not approach unto a woman to uncover her nakedness as long as she is separated for her uncleanness. ²⁰ Moreover thou shalt not lie carnally with thy neighbour’s wife, contaminating thyself with her. ²¹ And thou shalt not let any of thy seed pass through the fire to Molech; neither shalt thou contaminate the name of thy God: I am the LORD. ²² Thou shalt not lie with males as with women; it is abomination. ²³ Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith; neither shall any woman stand before a beast to join herself with it; it is mixture.

³⁰ Keep, therefore, my ordinance that ye commit not any one of these abominable laws which were committed before you, and do not defile yourselves in them; I am the LORD your God.

²² ¶ Keep, therefore, all my statutes and all my rights and do them, and the land where I bring you to dwell therein will not vomit you out. ²³ And ye shall not walk in the practices of the Gentiles which I shall cast out before you; for they committed all these things, and therefore I abhorred them.

³¹ Thou shalt not do so unto the LORD thy God; for every abomination unto the LORD, which he hates, they have done unto their gods; for they have even burnt their sons and their daughters in the fire to their gods.

¹² For anyone that does these things is an abomination unto the LORD, and because of these abominations the LORD thy God drove them out from before thee.

⁴ Howbeit I sent unto you all my slaves the prophets, rising early and sending them, saying, Oh, do not this abominable thing that I hate.

¹⁸ But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart, and they defile the man. ¹⁹ For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: ²⁰ these are the things which defile the man, but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile the man.

¹⁰ For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother, and, Whosoever curses father or mother shall most definitely die. ¹¹ But ye say, It is enough if a man shall say to his father or mother, It is all Corban, (that is to say, my gift to God) whatever with which thou mightest be profited by me. ¹² And ye suffer him to do no more for his father or for his mother, ¹³ invalidating the word of God with your tradition, which ye have given; and many such like things do ye. ¹⁴ And when he had called all the people unto him, he said unto them, Hearken unto me every one of you and understand; ¹⁵ there is nothing from outside the man that entering into him can defile him, but the things which come out of him, those are what defile the man. ¹⁶ If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear. ¹⁷ And when he was entered into the house from the people, his disciples asked him concerning the parable. ¹⁸ And he said unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not understand that anything from outside that enters into the man cannot defile him? ¹⁹ Because it enters not into his heart, but into the belly, and the man goes out to the privy and purges all foods. ²⁰ For he had said that it is what comes out of the man that defiles the man. ²¹ For from within, out of the heart of men, come forth the evil thoughts, the adulteries, the fornications, the murders, ²² the thefts, the covetousness, the wickedness, the deceit, the lasciviousness, the evil eye, the slander, the pride, the unwiseness: ²³ all these evil things come out from within and defile the man.

¹⁷ If anyone defiles the temple of God, God shall destroy that one; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
