Proverbs 17 Cross References - ECB

1 Better, a parched morsel with serenity than a house full of sacrifices with strife. 2 A comprehending servant reigns over a son who shames; and allots the inheritance among the brothers. 3 The crucible for silver; the furnace for gold; and Yah Veh proofs the hearts. 4 A vilifier hearkens to lips of mischief; and a falsifier hearkens to a tongue of calamity. 5 Whoever derides the impoverished reproaches his Worker; whoever cheers at calamities is not exonerated. 6 Sons of sons are the crown of the aged; and the beauty of sons are their fathers. 7 A lip of rest befits not a fool; much less false lips a volunteer. 8 A bribe is as a stone of charism in the eyes of his master; wherever it faces, it comprehends. 9 He who covers a rebellion seeks love; and he who reiterates a word separates friends. 10 Rebuke penetrates a discerner more than a hundred smitings to a fool. 11 A rebel seeks evil; a cruel angel is sent against him. 12 May a bereaved bear meet a man but not a fool in his folly. 13 Whoever returns evil for good evil departs not from his house. 14 The beginning of strife is as a bursting of water leave off contention ere it faces a quarrel. 15 He who justifies the wicked and he who judges wicked the just - even they both are abhorrence to Yah Veh. 16 Why is there a price in the hand of a fool to chattelize wisdom, when he has no heart for it? 17 A friend loves at all times and a brother is birthed for tribulation. 18 A human who lacks heart claps palms; and becomes a pledge at the face of his friend. 19 He who loves rebellion, loves strife; and he who lifts his portal, seeks a breech. 20 A perverted heart finds no good; and a turned tongue falls into evil. 21 He who births a fool has grief; and the father of a fool cheers not. 22 A cheerful heart well-pleases as a cure; and a stricken spirit dries the bones. 23 The wicked take a bribe from the bosom to pervert the ways of judgment. 24 Wisdom faces him who discerns; and the eyes of a fool are in the ends of the earth. 25 A foolish son is a vexation to his father and bitterness to her who birthed him. 26 Also, neither penalize the just for good, nor smite volunteers for straightness. 27 He who knows knowledge spares his sayings; and a man of discernment is of cool spirit. 28 Even a fool, when he hushes, is fabricated wise; he who shuts his lips is a discerner.

8 And Abram says to Lot, I beseech you, that there be no strife between me and between you and between my tenders and between your tenders - for we are men - brothers. 9 Is not the whole land at your face? Separate, I beseech you, from me: if left, I go to the right; or if right, I go to the left.

Genesis 24:4-67

4 but go to my land and to my kindred and take a woman to my son Yischaq. 5 And the servant says to him, Perhaps the woman wills not to go after me to this land: in returning, return I your son to the land whence you came? 6 And Abraham says to him, Guard that you not return my son there. 7 Yah Veh Elohim of the heavens who took me from the house of my father and from the land of my kindred and who had worded to me and who oathed to me, saying, I give this land to your seed - he sends his angel at your face to take a woman to my son from there. 8 And if the woman wills not to go after you, then you are exonerated from this my oath: only return not my son there. 9 And the servant puts his hand under the flank of Abraham his adoni and oaths to him concerning that word. 10 And the servant takes ten camels of the camels of his adoni and goes; and all the goods of his adoni in his hand: and he rises and goes to Aram Naharaim to the city of Nachor: 11 and he kneels his camels outside the city by a well of water at the time of the evening - at bailing time. 12 And he says, O Yah Veh Elohim of my adoni Abraham, I pray you, happen at my face this day and work mercy to my adoni Abraham: 13 behold, I station myself by the fountain of water; and the daughters of the men of the city come to bail water: 14 and so be it, that the lass to whom I say, Spread your pitcher, I pray you, Give me drink; and she says, Drink and I also give your camels drink - that you approve her for your servant Yischaq; and thereby I know that you work mercy to my adoni. 15 And so be it, ere he finishes wording, that behold, Ribqah, who was birthed to Bethu El, son of Milchah, woman of Nachor, brother of Abraham, comes with her pitcher on her shoulder: 16 and the lass is mighty good looking, a virgin, no man having known her: and she descends to the fountain and fills her pitcher and ascends. 17 And the servant runs to meet her and says, I beseech you, give me a little water from your pitcher to drink. 18 And she says, Drink, my adoni: and she hastens and lowers the pitcher on her hand and gives him drink: 19 and she finishes giving him drink and she says, I also bail for your camels until they finish drinking. 20 - and she hastens and empties her pitcher into the trough and runs again to the well to bail and bails for all his camels. 21 And the man, wondering at her, hushes, to perceive whether Yah Veh prospers his journey or not. 22 And so be it, as the camels finish drinking, the man takes a golden nosering of a bekah weight and two bracelets for her hands of ten weight of gold; 23 and says, Whose daughter are you? Tell me, I pray you, is there place in the house of your father for us to stay overnight? 24 And she says to him, I am the daughter of Bethu El the son of Milchah whom she birthed to Nachor. 25 She also says to him, We have both much straw and provender and place to stay overnight. 26 And the man bows and prostrates to Yah Veh: 27 and he says, Blessed be Yah Veh Elohim of my adoni Abraham, who forsakes not my adoni of his mercy and his truth: I - in the way, Yah Veh leads me to the house of the brothers of my adoni. 28 And the lass runs and tells these words to them of the house of her mother. 29 And Ribqah has a brother whose name is Laban: and Laban runs out to the man, to the fountain: 30 and so be it, when he sees the nosering and bracelets on the hands of his sister and when he hears the words of Ribqah his sister, saying, Thus the man words to me; that he comes to the man; and behold, he stands by the camels at the fountain: 31 and he says, Come in, you blessed of Yah Veh; why stand outside? for I prepare the house and place for the camels. 32 And the man comes to the house: and he loosens his camels and gives straw and provender for the camels and water to bathe his feet and the feet of the men with him. 33 And they set at his face to eat: but he says, I eat not until I word my word. And he says, Word. 34 And he says, I am servant of Abraham: 35 and Yah Veh blessed my adoni mightily and he greatened: and he gave him flocks and oxen and silver and gold and servants and maids and camels and he burros. 36 And Sarah the woman of my adoni birthed a son to my adoni when she was aged: and gave him all he has. 37 And my adoni oathed me, saying, Take not a woman to my son of the daughters of the Kenaaniy in whose land I settle: 38 but go to the house of my father and my family and take a woman to my son. 39 And I say to my adoni, Perhaps the woman wills to not go after me. 40 And he says to me, Yah Veh, at whose face I walk, sends his angel with you to prosper your way; take a woman for my son of my family and of the house of my father: 41 then you become exonerated from my oath when you come to my family: and if they not give you, you become exonerated from my oath. 42 And I come this day to the fountain and say, O Yah Veh Elohim of my adoni Abraham, if now you prosper the way I go: 43 behold, I station myself by the fountain of water; and so be it, that when the virgin comes to bail and I say to her, Give me, I pray you, a little water from your pitcher to drink; 44 and she says to me, Both, you drink; and I also bail for your camels - let that be the woman whom Yah Veh approves for the son of my adoni. 45 And ere I finish wording in mine heart, behold, Ribqah comes with her pitcher on her shoulder; and she descends to the fountain and bails: and I say to her, Give me drink, I pray you. 46 And she hastens and lowers her pitcher and says, Drink and I water your camels also: so I drink and she waters the camels also. 47 And I ask her and say, Whose daughter are you? And she says, the daughter of Bethu El, the son of Nachor, whom Milchah birthed to him. - and I put the nosering on her nostrils and the bracelets on her hands: 48 and I bow and prostrate to Yah Veh and bless Yah Veh Elohim of my adoni Abraham, who led me in the way of truth to take the daughter of the brother of my adoni to his son. 49 And now if you work in mercy and truth with my adoni, tell me: and if not, tell me; so that I face right, or left. 50 Then Laban and Bethu El answer and say, The word proceeds from Yah Veh: we cannot word to you evil or good. 51 Behold, Ribqah faces you, take and go, to become the woman of the son of your adoni as Yah Veh worded. 52 And so be it, when the servant of Abraham hears their words, he prostrates to Yah Veh - prostrating to the earth: 53 and the servant brings instruments of silver and instruments of gold and clothing and gives them to Ribqah: he also gives preciousnesses to her brother and to her mother: 54 and they eat and drink - he and the men with him and stay overnight; and they rise in the morning, and he says, Send me to my adoni. 55 And her brother and her mother say, Let the lass sit with us days - or ten; and after that, go. 56 And he says to them, Delay me not, seeing Yah Veh prospers my way; send me to go to my adoni. 57 And they say, We call the lass and ask at her mouth. 58 And they call Ribqah and say to her, Go you with this man? And she says, I go. 59 And they send Ribqah their sister and her suckler and the servant of Abraham and his men: 60 and they bless Ribqah and say to her, You are our sister - become myriads of millions, so that your seed possesses the portal of those who hate it. 61 And Ribqah and her lasses rise and ride on the camels and go after the man: and the servant takes Ribqah and goes. 62 And Yischaq comes from the way of Beer Lachay Roi; for he settles in the south land: 63 and Yischaq goes to meditate in the field at the face of the evening: and he lifts his eyes and sees, and behold, the camels coming. 64 And Ribqah lifts her eyes and she sees Yischaq, and she falls off the camel: 65 and she says to the servant, Who is this very man walking in the field to meet us? And the servant says, It is my adoni. - and she takes a veil and covers herself. 66 And the servant describes to Yischaq all words he worked. 67 And Yischaq brings her into the tent of his mother Sarah and takes Ribqah: and she becomes his woman; and he loves her: and Yischaq sighs after his mother.

THE MERCY OF DAVID

And he says, Your servant. 3 And the sovereign says, Is there finally a man of the house of Shaul to whom I work the mercy of Elohim? And Siba says to the sovereign, Yah Nathan has yet a son with smitten feet. 4 And the sovereign says to him, Where is he? AMNON AND TAMAR
And so be it, after this, Abi Shalom the son of David has a beautiful sister, and her name is Tamar; and Amnon the son of David loves her; 2 and Amnon is so depressed he falls sick for his sister Tamar; for she is a virgin; and it is marvellous in the eyes of Amnon to work aught to her. 3 And Amnon has a friend, and his name is Yah Nadab the son of Shimah the brother of David; and Yah Nadab is a mighty wise man: 4 and he says to him, Why are you, the son of the sovereign, so poor morning by morning? Why not tell me? And Amnon says to him, I love Tamar the sister of my brother Abi Shalom. 5 And Yah Nadab says to him, Lie down on your bed and make yourself sick: and when your father comes to see you, say to him, I pray you, have my sister Tamar come and cut me bread to chew and work cuttings in my eyes that I may see and eat from her hand. 6 So Amnon lies down and makes himself sick: and when the sovereign comes to see him Amnon says to the sovereign, I pray you, have Tamar my sister come and bake me a couple of cakes in my eyes, that I may chew from her hand. 7 And David sends home to Tamar, saying, Go now to the house of your brother Amnon and work him cuttings. 8 So Tamar goes to the house of her brother Amnon; and he lies down: and she takes dough and kneads and bakes in his eyes and ripens the cakes: 9 and she takes a pan and pours them at his face; but he refuses to eat. And Amnon says, Send all the men from me! - and every man goes from him. 10 And Amnon says to Tamar, Bring the cuttings into the chamber, that I may chew from your hand. And Tamar takes the cakes she worked and brings them into the chamber to her brother Amnon: 11 and she brings them near to him to eat and he holds her and says to her, Come lie down with me, my sister. 12 And she says to him, No, my brother, humble me not; for such ought not to be worked in Yisra El: work not this folly: 13 And I, where goes my reproach? And as for you, you become as one of the fools in Yisra El: and now, I pray you, word to the sovereign; for he withholds me not from you. 14 Howbeit he wills to not hearken to her voice: but, being tougher than she, he humbles her and lies down with her: 15 and Amnon hates her mightily; so that the hatred wherewith he hates her is greater than the love wherewith he loved her. And Amnon says to her, Rise! Go! 16 And she says to him, No! This evil in sending me away is greater than the other that you worked me. - and he wills to not hearken to her. 17 And he calls his lad who ministers to him and says, Send this away from me now and enclose the door after her. 18 And she has a coverall coat on her: for with such mantles were the virgin daughters of the sovereign enrobed: and his minister brings her out and encloses the door after her. 19 And Tamar takes ashes on her head and rips the coverall coat on her and sets her hand on her head: and in walking, walks on crying. 20 And Abi Shalom her brother says to her, Has Amnon your brother been with you? Hush now, my sister; he is your brother: set not your heart to this word. - and Tamar settles desolate in the house of her brother Abi Shalom. 21 And sovereign David hears of all these words and he is mightily inflamed: 22 and Abi Shalom words to his brother Amnon neither good nor evil: for Abi Shalom hates Amnon, for word that he abased his sister Tamar.

And so be a man, called of Beli Yaal, his name is Sheba the son of Bichria a Ben Yaminiy: and he blasts a shophar and says, We have neither allotment in David nor inheritance in the son of Yishay: every man to his tents, O Yisra El.

REVENGE OF THE GIBONIY
And there is a famine in the days of David - three years - year after year; and David seeks the face of Yah Veh. And Yah Veh says, It is for Shaul and for the bloody house, because he deathified the Giboniy. 2 And the sovereign calls the Giboniy and says to them - now the Giboniy are not of the sons of Yisra El but of the remnant of the Emoriy - and the sons of Yisra El oathed to them: - and Shaul sought to smite them in his jealousy toward the sons of Yisra El and Yah Hudah: 3 - yes, David says to the Giboniy, What work I for you? Wherewith kapar/atone I for you so that you bless the inheritance of Yah Veh? 4 And the Giboniy says to him, We have silver and gold neither of Shaul nor of his house; nor for us to deathify any man in Yisra El. And he says, Whatever you say, I work for you. 5 And they say to the sovereign, The man who finishes us off - who considers against us desolates us from standing by in any of the borders of Yisra El: 6 give us seven men of his sons and we impale them to Yah Veh in Gibah of Shaul, whomever Yah Veh chooses. And the sovereign says, I give them. 7 And the sovereign spares Mephi Bosheth the son of Yah Nathan the son of Shaul because of the oath of Yah Veh between them - between David and between Yah Nathan the son of Shaul. 8 And the sovereign takes the two sons of Rispah the daughter of Ajah whom she birthed to Shaul - Armoni and Mephi Bosheth; and the five sons of Michal the daughter of Shaul, whom she birthed to Adri El the son of Barzillay the Mecholathiy: 9 and he gives them into the hands of the Giboniy and they impale them in the mountain at the face of Yah Veh: and they fall sevenfold together - deathified in the days of harvest at the first - in the beginning of barley harvest. 10 And Rispah the daughter of Ajah takes saq and spreads it for her on the rock - from the beginning of harvest until water from the heavens pours on them and gives neither the flyers of the heavens to rest on them by day nor the live beings of the field by night. 11 And they tell David what Rispah the daughter of Ajah, the concubine of Shaul works: 12 and David goes and takes the bones of Shaul and the bones of Yah Nathan his son from the masters of Yabesh Gilad - who stole them from the broadway of Beth Shaan, where the Peleshethiy hanged them in the day the Peleshethiy smote Shaul in Gilboa: 13 and from there he ascends the bones of Shaul and the bones of Yah Nathan his son; and they gather the bones of the impailed; 14 and they entomb the bones of Shaul and Yah Nathan his son in the land of Ben Yamin in Sela in the tomb of Qish his father: and they perform all the sovereign misvahs: and after they intreat Elohim for the land.

6 And the sovereign of Yisra El gathers the prophets - about four hundred men and says to them, Go I to war against Ramoth Gilad? Or cease I? And they say, Ascend; for Adonay gives it in the hand of the sovereign. 7 And Yah Shaphat says, Is there not a prophet of Yah Veh here - to enquire of him? 8 And the sovereign of Yisra El says to Yah Shaphat, There is still one man, Michah Yah the son of Yimlah, by whom we may enquire of Yah Veh: but I hate him; for he prophesies no good concerning me; but evil. And Yah Shaphat says, O that the sovereign not say thus. 9 Then the sovereign of Yisra El calls one eunuch and says, Hasten Michah Yah the son of Yimlah! 10 And the sovereign of Yisra El and Yah Shaphat the sovereign of Yah Hudah settle - each man on his throne; their clothes enrobed; in a threshingfloor in the opening of the portal of Shomeron: and all the prophets prophesy at their face. 11 And Sidqi Yah the son of Kenaanah works himself horns of iron: and he says, Thus says Yah Veh, But the Aramiy with these until you finish them off. 12 And all the prophets prophesy thus, saying, Ascend to Ramoth Gilad and prosper: for Yah Veh gives it in the hand of the sovereign. 13
MICHAH YAH PROPHESIES DEFEAT
And the angel who goes to call Michah Yah words to him, saying, Behold now, the words of the prophets are good to the sovereign with one mouth: and so be it, I beseech you, your word as their word - a good word. 14 And Michah Yah says, Yah Veh lives: what Yah Veh says to me, I word. 15 And he comes to the sovereign; and the sovereign says to him, Michah Yah, Go we to war against Ramoth Gilad? Or cease? And he says to him, Ascend and prosper: for Yah Veh gives it into the hand of the sovereign. 16 And the sovereign says to him, How many times oath I you that you word me naught but truth in the name of Yah Veh? 17 And he says, I see all Yisra El scattered on the mountains as flocks with no tender: and Yah Veh says, These have no adoni: return them - every man to his house in shalom. 18 And the sovereign of Yisra El says to Yah Shaphat, Said I not to you that he prophesies no good concerning me - but evil? 19 And he says, Therefore hear the word of Yah Veh: I see Yah Veh settled on his throne and all the host of the heavens stand by him at his right and at his left. 20 And Yah Veh says, Who entices Ach Ab to ascend and fall at Ramoth Gilad? And this one says thus; and that one says thus: 21 and a spirit goes and stands at the face of Yah Veh and says, I entice him. 22 And Yah Veh says to him, How? And he says, I go and I become a false spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And he says, Entice him and also prevail: Go! Work thus! 23 And now behold, Yah Veh gives a false spirit in the mouth of all these your prophets and Yah Veh words evil concerning you. 24 And Sidqi Yah the son of Kenaanah comes near and smites Michah Yah on the cheek and says, Where passes the Spirit of Yah Veh from me to word to you? 25 And Michah Yah says, Behold, you see in that day when you go into an inner chamber to hide yourself. 26 And the sovereign of Yisra El says, Take Michah Yah and return him to Amon the governor of the city and to Yah Ash the son of the sovereign: 27 and say, Thus says the sovereign, Set this one in the prison house; and have him eat bread of oppression and water of oppression, until I come in shalom. 28 And Michah Yah says, If in returning, you return in shalom, Yah Veh words not thus by me. And he says, Hearken, O people - all of you.
