SONS OF YISRA EL DISPUTE OVER LAND
And the sons of Reu Ben and the sons of Gad have mighty mighty many chattel: and when they see the land of Yazer and the land of Gilad, and behold, the place is a place for chattel; ² the sons of Gad and the sons of Reu Ben come and say to Mosheh and to El Azar the priest and to the hierarchs of the witness, saying, ³ Ataroth and Dibon and Yazer and Nimrah and Heshbon and El Aleh and Sebam and Nebo and Beon ⁴ - the country Yah Veh smote at the face of the witness of Yisra El, is a land for chattel; and your servants have chattel:

³³ And Mosheh gives them - the sons of Gad and the sons of Reu Ben and half the scion of Menash Sheh the son of Yoseph, the sovereigndom of Siho sovereign of the Emoriy and the sovereigndom of Og sovereign of Bashan - the land, with the cities thereof in the borders, - the cities of the land all around. ³⁴ And the sons of Gad build Dibon and Ataroth and Aroer ³⁵ and Atroth, Shophan and Yazer and Jogbehah ³⁶ and Beth Nimrah and Beth Ha Ran - fortified cities: and walls for flocks. ³⁷ And the sons of Reu Ben build Heshbon and El Aleh and Qiryathaim ³⁸ and Nebo and Baal Meon - their names being turned around and Sibmah: and calls names to the cities they build by name. ³⁹ And the sons of Machir the son of Menash Sheh goes to Gilad and captures it and dispossesses the Emoriy therein. ⁴⁰ And Mosheh gives Gilad to Machir the son of Menash Sheh; and he settles therein. ⁴¹ And Yair the son of Menash Sheh goes and captures the living areas thereof and calls them Havoth Yair: ⁴² and Nobach goes and captures Qenath and the daughters thereof and calls it Nobach, after his own name.

³¹ And Yah Veh said to me, See, I begin to give Sichon and his land at your face: begin to possess - to possess his land. ³² Then Sichon came confronting us - he and all his people, to war at Yahsah: ³³ and Yah Veh our Elohim gave him at our face; and we smote him and his sons and all his people: ³⁴ and we captured all his cities at that time and devoted the few men and the women and the toddlers of every city: we left no survivors to survive: ³⁵ only we plundered the animals to ourselves and captured the loot of the cities. ³⁶ From Aroer, by the edge of the wadi of Arnon and from the city by the wadi - even to Gilad, not one city was too lofty for us: Yah Veh our Elohim gave all at our face. ³⁷ Only we approached neither the land of the sons of Ammon, nor to any hand of the wadi Yabboq, nor to the cities in the mountains, nor to whatever Yah Veh our Elohim misvahed us.

²¹ and Yah Veh Elohim of Yisra El gave Sichon and all his people into the hand of Yisra El; and they smote them: so Yisra El possesses all the land of the Emoriy - the settlers of that land. ²² And they possess all the borders of the Emoriy from Arnon to Yabboq and from the wilderness to Yarden. ²³ And now Yah Veh Elohim of Yisra El dispossesses the Emoriy from the face of his people Yisra El - that you possess it?

THE EPHRAYIM FEEL SLIGHTED
And they summon the men of Ephrayim; and they pass over northward and say to Yiphtach, Why pass you over to fight the sons of Ammon and call not us to go with you? We burn your house on you with fire! ² And Yiphtach says to them, I became a man of mighty strife - I and my people with the sons of Ammon; and when I cried to you, you saved me not from their hands;

⁸ And they say, Which one of the scions of Yisra El ascended not to Mispeh to Yah Veh? And, behold, no man of Yabesh Gilad came to the camp to the congregation:

²² And you gave them sovereigndoms and people and allotted them to the edges: and they possessed the land of Sichon and the land of the sovereign of Heshbon and the land of Og sovereign of Bashan:

¹⁰ who smote great goyim and slaughtered mighty sovereigns ¹¹ - Sichon sovereign of the Emoriy and Og sovereign of Bashan and all the sovereigndoms of Kenaan; ¹² and gave their land for an inheritance - an inheritance to Yisra El his people.

¹⁹ Sichon sovereign of the Emoriy; for his mercy eternal:

⁹ And I - I desolate the Emoriy at their face, whose height is as the height of the cedars as powerful as the oaks; and I desolate his fruit from above and his roots from beneath.
