³ So they are as the morning cloud and as the early dew that passes away: as the chaff stormed from the threshingfloor and as the smoke from the window.

⁵ For the living know that they die; but the dead know naught: they have no more a hire; for their memorial is forgotten.

⁵ and they awe the heights with terrors in the way; and the almond tree flourishes; and the locust becomes a burden; and desire breaks down because humanity goes to his eternal house and the choppers turn around the streets: ⁶ ere the silver cord is not removed; or the golden bowl broken; or the pitcher broken at the fountain; or the wheel cracked at the well: ⁷ and the dust returns to the earth as it was; and the spirit returns to Elohim who gave.

²⁷ And as it is laid out for humanity to die once and after this the judgment:

³¹ Thus all your enemies destruct, O Yah Veh: but they who love him are as the sun when he goes in his might. - and the land rests forty years.

²⁵ that they not say in their hearts, Aha, aha, O soul! that they not say, We swallowed him!

⁴ they pervert the needy from the way; the humble of the earth hide.

¹⁶ If I withhold the poor from their desire, or finish off the eyes of the widow; ¹⁷ or eat my morsel myself alone and the orphan eats not; ¹⁸ - for as a father he grew up with me from my youth - led her from the belly of my mother. ¹⁹ If I have seen any destruct for want of robe or the needy without covering; ²⁰ if neither his loins blessed me nor heated with the fleece of my lambs; ²¹ if I shook my hand against the orphan when I saw my help in the portal;

²¹ He who disrespects his friend, sins; and he who grants charism on the humble, blithes.

³¹ He who oppresses the poor reproaches his Worker; and he who honors him grants charism on the needy.

⁵ Whoever derides the impoverished reproaches his Worker; whoever cheers at calamities is not exonerated.

¹⁷ Whoever grants charism to the poor lends to Yah Veh; and shalams what he deals.

⁸ He who by interest and bounty abounds his wealth, gathers for him who grants charism to the poor.

⁷ Is it not to separate your bread to the famished? To bring the humble outcasts to your house? To cover the naked when you see him? To not conceal yourself from your own flesh? ⁸ Then your light splits as the dawn and your health sprouts quickly and your justness comes at your face: the honor of Yah Veh gathers you.

¹⁷ and if you hear it not, my soul weeps in coverts at the face of your arrogance; and my eye weeps sore and drips with tears, for the drove of Yah Veh is captured.

²⁰ Shalam we evil for good? For they dig a chasm for my soul. Remember that I stood at your face to word good for them and to turn away your fury from them.

²⁷ Therefore, O sovereign, my ruling is glorious to you; and break off your sins by justness, and your perverseness by granting charism to the humble;

⁴¹ And as he approaches he sees the city and weeps over it,

³⁵ Yah Shua weeps.

¹⁵ cheer with the cheering and weep with the weeping;

²⁵ For the dread I dreaded comes on me and what I feared comes to me. ²⁶ I neither serenified, nor had I rest, nor rested I; yet commotion came.

⁶ the light darkens in his tent and his lamp extinguishes with him;

¹⁸ he is exiled from light into darkness and chased from the world.

⁸ he walls in my way so I cannot pass; and sets darkness in my paths:

¹⁷ for I neither exterminate at the face of the darkness; nor covers he the darkness from my face.

¹⁸ And I said, I expire in my nest and my days abound as the sand.

¹¹ Light is seeded for the just and cheerfulness for the straight in heart:

¹⁰ Who among you fears Yah Veh? Who hearkens to the voice of his servant? Who walks in darkness with no brilliance? Have him confide in the name of Yah Veh and lean on his Elohim.

¹⁵ We await shalom, and there is no good; for a time of healing, and behold, fright!

¹⁹ In spurning, spurn you Yah Hudah? Loathes your soul Siyon? Why smite you us? And is there no healing for us? We await shalom, and there is no good; and for the time of healing, and behold, fright.

¹⁸ Why becomes my pain perpetual and my wound incurable - refusing to be healed? - altogether to me as a liar, and as waters not trustworthy?

¹² For the settler of Maroth awaits good; for evil descends from Yah Veh to the portal of Yeru Shalem.

⁴ Our fathers confided in you - they confided and you slipped them away:

¹⁹ My inwards! My inwards! I writhe at the walls of my heart; my heart roars within me; I cannot hush, because you hear, O my soul, the voice of the shophar - the blast of war.

²⁰ Is Ephrayim my esteemed son? A child of delights? For since I worded sufficient against him, in remembering, I remember him still: so my inwards trouble for him; In mercying, I mercy him - an oracle of Yah Veh.

²⁰ See, O Yah Veh, for I tribulate; my inwards foam; my heart turns within me; in rebelling, I rebelled: outwardly the sword bereaves; as death in the house:

¹¹ My eyes finish off with tears; my inwards foam; my liver pours on the earth for the breech of the daughter of my people; because the infants and the sucklings languish in the broadways of the city.

⁶ I bend; I prostrate mightily; I go darkened all the day long:

⁹ I say to El my rock, Why forget you me? Why go I darkened because of the oppression of the enemy?

² For you are the Elohim of my stronghold; why cast you me off? Why go I darkened by the oppression of an enemy?

³ He is despised and abandoned of men; a man of sorrows, and knowing sickness: as one from whom we hide our face; he was despised, and we machinated him not. ⁴ Surely he bore our sicknesses and bore our sorrows: yet we machinated him plagued - smitten of Elohim and abased.

THE THIRD LAMENTATION
I, the mighty, saw humiliation by the scion of his fury: ² he drove me and walked me into darkness without light: ³ surely he turns against me - turns his hand all the day:

¹⁴ I call out to the pit of ruin, My father; to the maggot, My mother! My sister!

¹⁹ though you crushed us in the place of monsters and covered us with the shadow of death.

⁶ I am likened to a pelican of the wilderness - as an owl of the parched areas.

²¹ and desert dwellers crouch there; and their houses are filled by howlers; and daughters of the owls tabernacle there, and bucks dance there: ²² and the island howlers answer in their abandonments, and monsters in their manses of luxury: and her time comes near, and her days are not drawn out.

¹⁴ As a horse or a swallow, thus I chirp: I coo as a dove: my eyes languish on high: O Yah Veh, I am oppressed; be my pledge.

⁸ for this I chop and howl; I go stripped and naked: I work a chopping as the monsters and a mourning as the daughters of the owls:

³ and I hated Esav; and set his mountains and his inheritance waste for the monsters of the wilderness.

³ For my days finish off as smoke and my bones scorch as a burning:

⁸³ For I become as a skin in smoke; yet I forget not your statutes.

⁴ he wears out my flesh and my skin; he breaks my bones;

⁸ their form becomes darker than darkness - not recognized in the outways; their skin adheres to their bones - withers; becomes as wood.

¹⁰ our skin shrivels as an oven because of the raging famine.

¹ By the rivers of Babel, there we settled; yes, we wept, when we remembered Siyon; ² we hung our harps midst the willows: ³ for there our captors asked us the words of a song - our howlers, of cheer, Sing us a song of Siyon! ⁴ How sing we a song of Yah Veh in a strange soil?

⁴ a time to weep and a time to laugh; a time to chop and a time to dance;

⁴ my heart staggers; trembling frightens me: he sets the evening breeze of my pleasure to tremble me.

¹² And in that day, Adonay Yah Veh Sabaoth calls to weeping and to chopping and to baldness and to girding with sackcloth:

⁷ the juice mourns; the vine languishes; all the cheerful sigh: ⁸ the joy of tambourines shabbathizes; the uproar of them who jump for joy ceases; the joy of the harp shabbathizes: ⁹ they drink no wine with a song; strong drink embitters them who drink:

¹⁵ the joy of our heart shabbathizes; our round dance turns into mourning;

¹⁸ Then the sovereign goes to his manse and lodges overnight fasting; and his instruments enter not in front of him and his sleep flees from him.
