¹¹ And he said to them: To you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but to them that are without, all things are done in parables:

²⁵ At that time Jesus answered and said: I confess to thee, O Father, Lord of Heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them to little ones.

¹¹ Who answered and said to them: Because to you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven: but to them it is not given. ¹² For he that hath, to him shall be given, and he shall abound: but he that hath not, from him shall be taken away that also which he hath. ¹³ Therefore do I speak to them in parables: because seeing they see not, and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.

¹⁶ But blessed are your eyes, because they see, and your ears, because they hear.

¹⁷ And Jesus answering said to him: Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-Jona: because flesh and blood hath not revealed it to thee, but my Father who is in heaven.

¹⁰ To whom he said: To you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God; but to the rest in parables, that seeing they may not see and hearing may not understand.

²¹ In that same hour, he rejoiced in the Holy Ghost and said: I confess to thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hidden these things from the wise and prudent and hast revealed them to little ones. Yea, Father, for so it hath seemed good in thy sight. ²² All things are delivered to me by my Father. And no one knoweth who the Son is, but the Father: and who the Father is, but the Son and to whom the Son will reveal him. ²³ And turning to his disciples, he said: Blessed are the eyes that see the things which you see. ²⁴ For I say to you that many prophets and kings have desired to see the things that you see and have not seen them; and to hear the things that you hear and have not heard them.

⁷ For who distinguisheth thee? Or what hast thou that thou hast not received, and if thou hast received, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it?

¹² For what have I to do to judge them that are without? Do not you judge them that are within? ¹³ For them that are without, God will judge. Put away the evil one from among yourselves.

⁶ For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God, in the face of Christ Jesus.

⁹ That he might make known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure, which he hath purposed in him,

⁴ But God (who is rich in mercy) for his exceeding charity wherewith he loved us ⁵ Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together in Christ (by whose grace you are saved) ⁶ And hath raised us up together and hath made us sit together in the heavenly places, through Christ Jesus. ⁷ That he might shew in the ages to come the abundant riches of his grace, in his bounty towards us in Christ Jesus. ⁸ For by grace you are saved through faith: and that not of yourselves, for it is the gift of God. ⁹ Not of works, that no man may glory. ¹⁰ For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus in good works, which God hath prepared that we should walk in them.

⁵ Walk with wisdom towards them that are without, redeeming the time.

^{12 (4:11)} And that you walk honestly towards them that are without: and that you want nothing of any man's.

⁷ Moreover, he must have a good testimony of them who are without: lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.

³ For we ourselves also were some time unwise, incredulous, erring, slaves to divers desires and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another. ⁴ But when the goodness and kindness of God our Saviour appeared: ⁵ Not by the works of justice which we have done, but according to his mercy, he saved us, by the laver of regeneration and renovation of the Holy Ghost. ⁶ Whom he hath poured forth upon us abundantly, through Jesus Christ our Saviour: ⁷ That, being justified by his grace, we may be heirs according to hope of life everlasting.

¹⁶ Do not err, therefore, my dearest brethren. ¹⁷ Every best gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no change nor shadow of alteration. ¹⁸ For of his own will hath he begotten us by the word of truth, that we might be some beginning of his creature.

²⁰ And we know that the Son of God is come. And he hath given us understanding that we may know the true God and may be in his true Son. This is the true God and life eternal.
