²⁰ But you, my beloved, building yourselves upon your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,

¹⁰ And I will pour out upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace, and of prayers: and they shall look upon me, whom they have pierced: and they shall mourn for him as one mourneth for an only son, and they shall grieve over him, as the manner is to grieve for the death of the firstborn.

³¹ Now, the church had peace throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria: and was edified, walking in the fear of the Lord: and was filled with the consolation of the Holy Ghost.

⁹ And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.

¹⁸ To open their eyes, that they may be converted from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a lot among the saints, by the faith that is in me.

¹⁵ For you have not received the spirit of bondage again in fear: but you have received the spirit of adoption of sons, whereby we cry: Abba (Father).

²⁶ Likewise, the Spirit also helpeth our infirmity. For, we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit himself asketh for us with unspeakable groanings, ²⁷ And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what the Spirit desireth: because he asketh for the saints according to God.

² Let every one of you Please his neighbour unto good, to edification.

⁸ Who also will confirm you unto the end without crime, in the days of the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

²³ All things are lawful for me: but all things do not edify.

⁴ He that speaketh in a tongue edifieth himself: but he that prophesieth, edifieth the church. ⁵ And I would have you all to speak with tongues, but rather to prophesy. For greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues: unless perhaps he interpret, that the church may receive edification.

¹⁵ What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, I will pray also with the understanding, I will sing with the spirit, I will sing also with the understanding.

²⁶ How is it then, brethren? When you come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a revelation, hath a tongue, hath an interpretation: let all things be done to edification.

⁶ And because you are sons, God hath sent the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying: Abba, Father.

¹² For the perfecting of the saints, for the word of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

¹⁶ From whom the whole body, being compacted and fitly joined together, by what every joint supplieth, according to the operation in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body, unto the edifying of itself in charity.

²⁹ Let no evil speech proceed from your mouth: but that which is good, to the edification of faith: that it may administer grace to the hearers.

¹⁸ By all prayer and supplication praying at all times in the spirit: and in the same watching with all instance and supplication for all the saints:

⁷ Rooted and built up in him and confirmed in the faith, as also you have learned: abounding in him in thanksgiving.

¹¹ For which cause comfort one another and edify one another, as you also do.

⁴ Not to give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which furnish questions rather than the edification of God which is in faith. ⁵ Calling to mind that faith which is in thee unfeigned, which also dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois and in thy mother Eunice, and I am certain that in thee also.

¹ Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of the elect of God and the acknowledging of the truth, which is according to godliness:

²² Seest thou that faith did cooperate with his works and by works faith was made perfect?

¹ Simon Peter, servant and apostle of Jesus Christ: to them that have obtained equal faith with us in the justice of our God and Saviour Jesus Christ.
