¹ The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to make known to his servants the things which must shortly come to pass: and signified, sending by his angel to his servant John, ² Who hath given testimony to the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ, what things soever he hath seen. ³ Blessed is he that readeth and heareth the words of this prophecy: and keepeth those things which are written in it. To him be glory and empire for ever and ever. Amen. ⁷ Behold, he cometh with the clouds, and every eye shall see him: and they also that pierced him. And all the tribes of the earth shall bewail themselves because of him. Even so. Amen. ⁸ I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, saith the Lord God, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty. ⁹ I, John, your brother and your partner in tribulation and in the kingdom and patience in Christ Jesus, was in the island which is called Patmos, for the word of God and for the testimony of Jesus. ¹⁰ I was in the spirit on the Lord's day and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet, ¹¹ Saying: What thou seest, write in a book and send to the seven churches which are in Asia: to Ephesus and to Smyrna and to Pergamus and to Thyatira and to Sardis and to Philadelphia and to Laodicea. ¹² And I turned to see the voice that spoke with me. And being turned, I saw seven golden candlesticks: ¹³ And in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks, one like to the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the feet, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle. ¹⁴ And his head and his hairs were white as white wool and as snow. And his eyes were as a flame of fire: ¹⁵ And his feet like unto fine brass, as in a burning furnace. And his voice as the sound of many waters. ¹⁶ And he had in his right hand seven stars. And from his mouth came out a sharp two-edged sword. And his face was as the sun shineth in his power. ¹⁷ And when I had seen him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying: Fear not. I am the First and the Last, ¹⁸ And alive, and was dead. And behold I am living for ever and ever and have the keys of death and of hell. ¹⁹ Write therefore the things which thou hast seen: and which are: and which must be done hereafter. ²⁰ The mystery of the seven stars, which thou sawest in my right hand and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches. And the seven candlesticks are the seven churches.

²⁵ The God of thy father shall be thy helper, and the Almighty shall bless thee with the blessings of heaven above, with the blessings of the deep that lieth beneath, with the blessings of the breasts and of the womb.

⁶ And they shall make the ephod of gold, and violet, and purple, and scarlet twice dyed, and fine twisted linen, embroidered with divers colours. ⁷ It shall have the two edges joined in the top on both sides, that they may be closed together. ⁸ The very workmanship also, and all the variety of the work, shall be of gold, and violet, and purple, and scarlet twice dyed, and fine twisted linen.

⁵ And a girdle of the same colours, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

⁷ He vested the high priest with the strait linen garment, girding him with the girdle, and putting on him the violet tunick: and over it he put the ephod.

⁸ But because the Lord hath loved you, and hath kept his oath, which he swore to your fathers: and hath brought you out with a strong hand, and redeemed you from the house of bondage, out of the hand of Pharao the king of Egypt.

¹⁹ Now therefore write you this canticle, and teach the children of Israel: that they may know it by heart, and sing it by mouth, and this song may be unto me for a testimony among the children of Israel.

³¹ So let all thy enemies perish, O Lord: but let them that love thee shine, as the sun shineth in his rising. ^(5:32) And the land rested for forty years.

¹⁰ Fear not, for I am with thee: turn not aside, for I am thy God: I have strengthened thee, and have helped thee, and the right hand of my just one hath upheld thee.

¹⁰ You are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen: that you may know, and believe me, and understand that I myself am. Before me there was no God formed, and after me there shall be none.

³ And he brought me in thither, and behold a man, whose appearance was like the appearance of brass, with a line of flax in his hand, and a measuring reed in his hand, and he stood in the gate.

^{34 (4:31)} Now at the end of the days, I, Nabuchodonosor, lifted up my eyes to heaven, and my sense was restored to me: and I blessed the most High, and I praised and glorified him that liveth for ever: for his power is an everlasting power, and his kingdom is to all generations.

And when he spoke to me, I grew strong, and I said: Speak, O my lord, for thou hast strengthened me.

³ But they that are learned, shall shine as the brightness of the firmament: and they that instruct many to justice, as stars for all eternity.

¹² Blessed is he that waitedth, and cometh unto a thousand three hundred thirty-five days. ¹³ But go thou thy ways until the time appointed: and thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot unto the end of the days.

⁷ For the Lord God doth nothing without revealing his secret to his servants the prophets.

³ The Lord is patient, and great in power, and will not cleanse and acquit the guilty. The Lord's ways are in a tempest, and a whirlwind, and clouds are the dust of his feet.

A city seated on a mountain cannot be hid. ¹⁵ Neither do men light a candle and put it under a bushel, but upon a candlestick, that it may shine to all that are in the house. ¹⁶ So let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

⁵ And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed with a white robe: and they were astonished. ⁶ Who saith to them: Be not affrighted. you seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen: he is not here. Behold the place where they laid him.

And to the hills: Cover us.

³⁷ But they being troubled and frightened, supposed that they saw a spirit. ³⁸ And he said to them: Why are you troubled, and why do thoughts arise in your hearts? ³⁹ See my hands and feet, that it is I myself. Handle, and see: for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as you see me to have.

³² And John gave testimony, saying: I saw the Spirit coming down, as a dove from heaven; and he remained upon him.

²³ That all men may honour the Son, as they honour the Father. He who honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father who hath sent him.

¹⁴ Jesus answered and said to them: Although I give testimony of myself, my testimony is true: for I know whence I came and whither I go. ¹⁵ You judge according to the flesh: I judge not any man. ¹⁶ And if I do judge, my judgment is true: because I am not alone, but I and the Father that sent me.

²⁶ Many things I have to speak and to judge of you. But he that sent me, is true: and the things I have heard of him, these same I speak in the world.

¹⁷ The multitude therefore gave testimony, which was with him, when he called Lazarus out of the grave and raised him from the dead.

⁴⁹ For I have not spoken of myself: but the Father who sent me, he gave me commandment what I should say and what I should speak.

³⁷ Pilate therefore said to him: Art thou a king then? Jesus answered: Thou sayest that I am a king. For this was I born, and for this came I into the world; that I should give testimony to the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.

³⁴ But one of the soldiers with a spear opened his side: and immediately there came out blood and water. ³⁵ And he that saw it hath given testimony: and his testimony is true. And he knoweth that he saith true: that you also may believe.

³⁷ And again another scripture saith: They shall look on him whom they pierced.

¹⁹ Now when it was late the same day, the first of the week, and the doors were shut, where the disciples were gathered together, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst and said to them: Peace be to you.

²⁶ And after eight days, again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them. Jesus cometh, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst and said: Peace be to you.

²⁰ Peter turning about, saw that disciple whom Jesus loved following, who also leaned on his breast at supper and said: Lord, who is he that shall betray thee?

²⁴ This is that disciple who giveth testimony of these things and hath written these things: and we know that his testimony is true.

⁹ And when he had said these things, while they looked on, he was raised up: and a cloud received him out of their sight. ¹⁰ And while they were beholding him going up to heaven, behold two men stood by them in white garments. ¹¹ Who also said: Ye men of Galilee, why stand you looking up to heaven? This Jesus who is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come as you have seen him going into heaven.

And presently the vessel was taken up into heaven. ¹⁷ Now, whilst Peter was doubting within himself what the vision that he had seen should mean, behold the men who were sent from Cornelius, inquiring for Simon's house, stood at the gate. ¹⁸ And when they had called, they asked if Simon, who is surnamed Peter, were lodged there. ¹⁹ And as Peter was thinking of the vision, the Spirit said to him: Behold three men seek thee. ²⁰ Arise, therefore: get thee down and go with them, doubting nothing: for I have sent them. ²¹ Then Peter, going down to the men, said: Behold, I am he whom you seek. What is the cause for which you are come? ²² Who said: Cornelius, a centurion, a just man and one that feareth God, and having good testimony from all the nation of the Jews, received an answer of an holy angel, to send for thee into his house And to hear words of thee. ²³ Then bringing them in, he lodged them. And the day following, he arose and went with them: and some of the brethren from Joppe accompanied him. ²⁴ And the morrow after, he entered into Caesarea. And Cornelius waited for them, having called together his kinsmen and special friends. ²⁵ And it came to pass that when Peter was come in, Cornelius came to meet him and falling at his feet adored. ²⁶ But Peter lifted him up, saying: Arise: I myself also am a man. ²⁷ And talking with him, he went in and found many that were come together. ²⁸ And he said to them: you know how abominable it is for a man that is a Jew to keep company or to come unto one of another nation: but God hath shewed to me, to call no man common or unclean. ²⁹ For which cause, making no doubt, I came when I was sent for. I ask, therefore, for what cause you have sent for me? ³⁰ And Cornelius said: Four days ago, unto this hour, I was praying in my house, at the ninth hour and behold a man stood before me in white apparel and said: ³¹ Cornelius, thy prayer is heard and thy alms are had in remembrance in the sight of God. ³² Send therefore to Joppe: and call hither Simon, who is surnamed Peter. He lodgeth in the house of Simon a tanner, by the sea side. ³³ Immediately therefore I sent to thee: and thou hast done well in coming. Now, therefore, all we are present in thy sight to hear all things whatsoever are commanded thee by the Lord.

¹⁹ And he came to Ephesus and left them there. Who said: In John's baptism. ⁴ Then Paul said: John baptized the people with the baptism of penance saying: That they should believe in him, who was to come after him, that is to say, in Jesus. ⁵ Having heard these things, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. ⁶ And when Paul had imposed his hands on them, the Holy Ghost came upon them: and they spoke with tongues and prophesied. ⁷ And all the men were about twelve. ⁸ And entering into the synagogue, he spoke boldly for the space of three months, disputing and exhorting concerning the kingdom of God. ⁹ But when some were hardened and believed not, speaking evil of the way of the Lord before the multitude, departing from them, he separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus. ¹⁰ And this continued for the space of two years, so that all who dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord, both Jews and Gentiles.

And, counting the price of them, they found the money to be fifty thousand pieces of silver. ²⁰ So mightily grew the word of God and was confirmed. ²¹ And when these things were ended, Paul purposed in the spirit, when he had passed through Macedonia and Achaia, to go to Jerusalem, saying: After I have been there, I must see Rome also. ²² And sending into Macedonia two of them that ministered to him, Timothy and Erastus, he himself remained for a time in Asia. ²³ Now at that time there arose no small disturbance about the way of the Lord. ²⁴ For a certain man named Demetrius, a silversmith, who made silver temples for Diana, brought no small gain to the craftsmen. ²⁵ Whom he calling together with the workmen of like occupation, said: Sirs, you know that our gain is by this trade. ²⁶ And you see and hear that this Paul, by persuasion hath drawn away a great multitude, not only of Ephesus, but almost of all Asia, saying: they are not gods which are made by hands. ²⁷ So that not only this our craft is in danger to be set at nought, but also the temple of great Diana shall be reputed for nothing! Yea, and her majesty shall begin to be destroyed, whom all Asia and the world worshippeth. ²⁸ Having heard these things, they were full of anger and cried out, saying: Great is Diana of the Ephesians! ²⁹ And the whole city was filled with confusion. And having caught Gaius and Aristarchus, men of Macedonia, Paul's companions, they rushed with one accord into the theatre. ³⁰ And when Paul would have entered in unto the people, the disciples suffered him not. ³¹ And some also of the rulers of Asia, who were his friends, sent unto him, desiring that he would not venture himself into the theatre. ³² Now some cried one thing, some another. For the assembly was confused: and the greater part knew not for what cause they were come together. ³³ And they drew forth Alexander out of the multitude, the Jews thrusting him forward. And Alexander, beckoning with his hand for silence, would have given the people satisfaction, ³⁴ But as soon as they perceived him to be a Jew, all with one voice, for the space of about two, hours, cried out: Great is Diana of the Ephesians! ³⁵ And when the town clerk had appeased the multitudes, he said: Ye men of Ephesus, what man is there that knoweth not that the city of the Ephesians is a worshipper of the great Diana and of Jupiter's offspring? ³⁶ For as much therefore as these things cannot be contradicted, you ought to be quiet and to do nothing rashly. ³⁷ For you have brought hither these men, who are neither guilty of sacrilege nor of blasphemy against your goddess. ³⁸ But if Demetrius and the craftsmen that are with him have a matter against any man, the courts of justice are open: and there are proconsuls. Let them accuse one another. ³⁹ And if you inquire after any other matter, it may be decided in a lawful assembly. ⁴⁰ For we are even in danger to be called in question for this day's uproar, there being no man guilty (of whom we may give account) of this concourse. ^{41 (19:40)} And when he had said these things, he dismissed the assembly.

⁷ And on the first day of the week, when we were assembled to break bread, Paul discoursed with them, being to depart on the morrow. And he continued his speech until midnight.

²⁸ Take heed to yourselves and to the whole flock, wherein the Holy Ghost hath placed you bishops, to rule the Church of God which he hath purchased with his own blood.

¹³ At midday, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and them that were in company with me.

¹⁶ But rise up and stand upon thy feet: for to this end have I appeared to thee, that I may make thee a minister and a witness of those things which thou hast seen and of those things wherein I will appear to thee,

²³ That Christ should suffer and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead and should shew light to the people and to the Gentiles.

⁷ To all that are at Rome, the beloved of God, called to be saints. Grace to you and peace, from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

⁷ To them indeed who, according to patience in good work, seek glory and honour and incorruption, eternal life: ⁸ But to them that are contentious and who obey not the truth but give credit to iniquity, wrath and indignation.

³ And not only so: but we glory also in tribulation, knowing that tribulation worketh patience; ⁴ And patience trial; and trial hope;

⁹ Knowing that Christ, rising again from the dead, dieth now no more. Death shall no more have dominion over him.

¹⁷ And if sons, heirs also; heirs indeed of God and joint heirs with Christ: yet so, if we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified with him.

²⁵ But if we hope for that which we see not, we wait for it with patience.

³⁷ But in all these things we overcome, because of him that hath loved us.

³⁶ For of him, and by him, and in him, are all things: to him be glory for ever. Amen.

¹¹ And that, knowing the season, that it is now the hour for us to rise from sleep. For now our salvation is nearer than when we believed.

⁸ For whether we live, we live unto the Lord: or whether we die, we die unto the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord's. ⁹ For to this end Christ died and rose again: that he might be Lord both of the dead and of the living.

⁶ That with one mind and with one mouth you may glorify God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

²⁵ Now to him that is able to establish you, according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery which was kept secret from eternity;

³ Grace to you and peace, from God our father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

⁶ As the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you,

¹ And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not in loftiness of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of Christ.

⁹ For I think that God hath set forth us apostles, the last, as it were men appointed to death. We are made a spectacle to the world and to angels and to men. ¹⁰ We are fools for Christs sake, but you are wise in Christ: we are weak, but you are strong: you are honourable, but we without honour. ¹¹ Even unto this hour we both hunger and thirst and are naked and are buffeted and have no fixed abode. ¹² And we labour, working with our own hands. We are reviled: and we bless. We are persecuted: and we suffer it. ¹³ We are blasphemed: and we entreat. We are made as the refuse of this world, the offscouring of all, even until now.

¹¹ And such some of you were. But you are washed: but you are sanctified: but you are justified: in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and the Spirit of our God.

⁴ Now there are diversities of graces, but the same Spirit. ⁵ And there are diversities of ministries. but the same Lord. ⁶ And there are diversities of operations, but the same God, who worketh all in all. ⁷ And the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man unto profit. ⁸ To one indeed, by the Spirit, is given the word of wisdom: and to another, the word of knowledge, according to the same Spirit: ⁹ To another, faith in the same spirit: to another, the grace of healing in one Spirit: ¹⁰ To another the working of miracles: to another, prophecy: to another, the discerning of spirits: to another, diverse kinds of tongues: to another, interpretation of speeches. ¹¹ But all these things, one and the same Spirit worketh, dividing to every one according as he will. ¹² For as the body is one and hath many members; and all the members of the body, whereas they are many, yet are one body: So also is Christ. ¹³ For in one Spirit were we all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Gentiles, whether bond or free: and in one Spirit we have all been made to drink.

²⁰ But now Christ is risen from the dead, the firstfruits of them that sleep: ²¹ For by a man came death: and by a man the resurrection of the dead. ²² And as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all shall be made alive. ²³ But every one in his own order: the firstfruits, Christ: then they that are of Christ, who have believed in his coming.

³² If (according to man) I fought with beasts at Ephesus, what doth it profit me, if the dead rise not again? Let us eat and drink, for to morrow we shall die.

² On the first day of the week, let every one of you put apart with himself, laying up what it shall well please him: that when I come, the collections be not then to be made.

⁸ But I will tarry at Ephesus, until Pentecost.

³ How that, according to revelation, the mystery has been made known to me, as I have written above in a few words:

⁷ As it is meet for me to think this for you all, for that I have you in my heart; and that, in my bands and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, you all are partakers of my joy.

⁷ But emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being made in the likeness of men, and in habit found as a man. ⁸ He humbled himself, becoming obedient unto death, even to the death of the cross.

¹¹ And that every tongue should confess that the Lord Jesus Christ is in the glory of God the Father.

¹⁵ That you may be blameless and sincere children of God, without reproof, in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation: among whom you shine as lights in the world. ¹⁶ Holding forth the word of life to my glory in the day of Christ: because I have not run in vain, nor laboured in vain.

¹⁴ Nevertheless, you have done well in communicating to my tribulation.

¹⁸ And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things he may hold the primacy:

³ For you are dead: and your life is hid with Christ in God.

⁴ So that we ourselves also glory in you in the churches of God, for your patience and faith, and in all your persecutions and tribulations: which you endure ⁵ For an example of the just judgment of God, that you may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which also you suffer.

⁵ And the Lord direct your hearts, in the charity of God and the patience of Christ.

³ As I desired thee to remain at Ephesus when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some not to teach otherwise:

¹⁴ These things I write to thee, hoping that I shall come to thee shortly. ¹⁵ But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth. ¹⁶ And evidently great is the mystery of godliness, which was manifested in the flesh, was justified in the spirit, appeared unto angels, hath been preached unto the Gentiles, is believed in the world, is taken up in glory.

¹³ I charge thee before God who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus who gave testimony under Pontius Pilate, a good confession:

¹⁵ Which in his times he shall shew, who is the Blessed and only Mighty, the King of kings and Lord of lords: ¹⁶ Who only hath immortality and inhabiteth light inaccessible: whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and empire everlasting. Amen.

⁸ Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but labour with the gospel, according to the power of God.

³ Labour as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. ⁴ No man, being a soldier to God, entangleth himself with secular businesses: that he may please him to whom he hath engaged himself. ⁵ For he also that striveth for the mastery is not crowned, except he strive lawfully. ⁶ The husbandman that laboureth must first partake of the fruits. ⁷ Understand what I say: for the Lord will give thee in all things understanding. ⁸ Be mindful that the Lord Jesus Christ is risen again from the dead, of the seed of David, according to my gospel: ⁹ Wherein I labour even unto bands, as an evildoer. But the word of God is not bound. ¹⁰ Therefore I endure all things for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus, with heavenly glory. ¹¹ A faithful saying: for if we be dead with him, we shall live also with him. ¹² If we suffer, we shall also reign with him. If we deny him, he will also deny us.

³ Who being the brightness of his glory and the figure of his substance and upholding all things by the word of his power, making purgation of sins, sitteth on the right hand of the majesty on high:

¹⁰ And: Thou in the beginning, O Lord, didst found the earth: and the works of thy hands are the heavens. ¹¹ They shall perish: but thou shalt continue: and they shall all grow old as a garment. ¹² And as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shalt be changed. But thou art the selfsame: and thy years shall not fail. ¹³ But to which of the angels said he at any time: Sit on my right hand, until I make thy enemies thy footstool?

¹⁴ Therefore because the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself in like manner hath been partaker of the same: that, through death, he might destroy him who had the empire of death, that is to say, the devil: ¹⁵ And might deliver them, who through the fear of death were all their lifetime subject to servitude. ¹⁶ For nowhere doth he take hold of the angels: but of the seed of Abraham he taketh hold. ¹⁷ Wherefore, it behoved him in all things to be made like unto his brethren, that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest before God, that he might be a propitiation for the sins of the people.

¹² For the word of God is living and effectual and more piercing than any two edged sword; and reaching unto the division of the soul and the spirit, of the joints also and the marrow: and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

¹⁵ For we have not a high priest who cannot have compassion on our infirmities: but one tempted in all things like as we are, without sin.

⁶ And are fallen away: to be renewed again to penance, crucifying again to themselves the Son of God and making him a mockery.

¹⁶ Who is made, not according to the law of a law of a carnal commandment, but according to the power of an indissoluble life.

²⁵ Whereby he is able also to save for ever them that come to God by him; always living to make intercession for us.

¹⁴ How much more shall the blood of Christ, who by the Holy Ghost offered himself unspotted unto God, cleanse our conscience from dead works, to serve the living God?

²⁹ How much more, do you think he deserveth worse punishments, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God and hath esteemed the blood of the testament unclean, by which he was sanctified, and hath offered an affront to the Spirit of grace?

³⁶ For patience is necessary for you: that, doing the will of God, you may receive the promise.

² Looking on Jesus, the author and finisher of faith, who, having joy set before him, endured the cross, despising the shame, and now sitteth on the right hand of the throne of God.

⁸ Jesus Christ, yesterday, and today: and the same for ever.

²¹ Fit you in all goodness, that you may do his will; doing in you that which is well pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom is glory for ever and ever. Amen.

¹⁷ Every best gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no change nor shadow of alteration.

⁷ Be patient therefore, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth: patiently bearing till he receive the early and latter rain. ⁸ Be you therefore also patient and strengthen your hearts: for the coming of the Lord is at hand.

Grace unto you and peace be multiplied.

¹⁹ But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb unspotted and undefiled

⁵ Be you also as living stones built up, a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. ⁶ Wherefore it is said in the scripture: Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious. And he that shall believe in him shall not be confounded. ⁷ To you therefore that believe, he is honour: but to them that believe not, the stone which the builders rejected, the same is made the head of the corner: ⁸ And a stone of stumbling and a rock of scandal, to them who stumble at the word, neither do believe, whereunto also they are set. ⁹ But you are a chosen generation, a kingly priesthood, a holy nation, a purchased people: that you may declare his virtues, who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:

⁷ But the end of all is at hand. Be prudent therefore and watch in prayers.

¹¹ If any man speak, let him speak, as the words of God. If any minister, let him do it, as of the power which God administereth: that in all things God may be honoured through Jesus Christ: to whom is glory and empire for ever and ever. Amen.

⁸ But of this one thing be not ignorant, my beloved, that one day with the Lord is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

¹ That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon and our hands have handled, of the word of life.
