¹ And Joseph fell upon his father`s face, and wept upon him, and kissed him.

² And Sarah died in Kirjath-Arba: that is Hebron, in the land of Canaan. And Abraham came to mourn for Sarah, and to weep for her.

⁴ I will go down with thee to Egypt, and I will also certainly bring thee up; and Joseph shall put his hand on thine eyes.

⁷ and thou shalt impress them on thy sons, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thy house, and when thou goest on the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. ⁸ And thou shalt bind them for a sign on thy hand, and they shall be for frontlets between thine eyes.

¹⁴ And Elisha fell sick of his sickness in which he died. And Joash the king of Israel came down to him, and wept over his face, and said, My father, my father! the chariot of Israel and the horsemen thereof!

³⁸ And he comes to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and sees the tumult, and people weeping and wailing greatly. ³⁹ And entering in he says to them, Why do ye make a tumult and weep? the child has not died, but sleeps.

Now it was a cave, and a stone lay upon it.

² And pious men buried Stephen and made great lamentation over him.

⁴ And [ye] fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in [the] discipline and admonition of [the] Lord.

¹³ But we do not wish you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them that are fallen asleep, to the end that ye be not grieved even as also the rest who have no hope.
