1 The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show to his servants what must soon take place. And he made it known by sending his angel to his servant John,
2 who bore witness to the word of God and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, even to all that he saw.
3 Blessed is he who reads the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear, and who keep what is written in it; for the time is near.
4 John, to the seven churches which are in Asia: grace to you and peace from him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven spirits who are before his throne,
5 and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood,
6 and has made us a kingdom and priests to his God and Father, to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
7 Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and all tribes of the earth will mourn because of him. Even so. Amen.
8 "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty."
9 I, John, your brother and companion in the tribulation and kingdom and patient endurance that are ours in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.
10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord's Day, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet,
11 saying, "Write in a book what you see, and send it to the seven churches: to Ephesus and to Smyrna and to Pergamum and to Thyatira and to Sardis and to Philadelphia and to Laodicea."
12 Then I turned to see the voice that was speaking to me. And having turned I saw seven golden lampstands,
13 and in the midst of the lampstands one like a Son of Man, clothed with a robe down to the feet and girded round his chest with a golden band.
14 His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like a flame of fire;
15 his feet were like burnished bronze, refined as in a furnace, and his voice was like the sound of many waters;
16 he held in his right hand seven stars, out of his mouth went a sharp two-edged sword, and his face was like the sun shining in its strength.
17 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. But he laid his right hand on me, saying, "Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last,
18 and the Living One; I was dead, and behold, I am alive for evermore! And I have the keys of death and Hades.
19 Write, therefore, what you have seen, what is now and what will take place after this.
20 The mystery of the seven stars which you saw in my right hand, and the seven golden lampstands: the seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches.

11 and he saw heaven opened, and something descending, like a great sheet, let down by four corners to the earth.
12 In it were all kinds of four-footed animals and reptiles of the earth and birds of the air.
13 A voice came to him, "Get up, Peter. Kill and eat!"
14 But Peter said, "No, Lord; for I have never eaten anything that is common or unclean."
15 And the voice came to him again a second time, "What God has cleansed, you must not call common."
16 This happened three times, and immediately the thing was taken up to heaven.
17 Now while Peter was inwardly perplexed as to what the vision which he had seen might mean, behold, the men that were sent by Cornelius, having made inquiry for Simon's house, appeared at the gate.
18 They called out, asking whether Simon who was known as Peter was staying there.
19 While Peter was reflecting on the vision, the Spirit said to him, "Behold, three men are looking for you.
20 But get up, go downstairs and accompany them without hesitation, for I have sent them myself."
21 Peter went down to the men and said, "Behold, I am the one you are looking for; what is the reason you have come?"
22 They said, "Cornelius, a centurion, a righteous and God-fearing man, who is well spoken of by the whole Jewish nation, was directed by a holy angel to send for you to come to his house, and to hear what you have to say."
23 So he invited them in to be his guests. The next day he rose and went off with them, and some of the brethren from Joppa accompanied him.
24 On the following day he entered Caesarea. Now Cornelius was expecting them and had called together his relatives and close friends.
25 When Peter entered, Cornelius met him and fell down at his feet and worshipped him.
26 But Peter raised him up, saying, "Stand up; I too am just a man."
27 As he talked with him, he went in and found many people assembled.
28 And he said to them, "You yourselves know how unlawful it is for a Jew to associate with a foreigner or to visit him; but God has shown me that I should not call any man common or unclean.
29 So when I was sent for, I came without raising any objection. I ask then why you sent for me."
30 Cornelius said, "Four days ago to this hour, I was praying in my house during the ninth hour; and behold, a man stood before me in shining garments,

32 Send therefore to Joppa and ask for Simon who is called Peter; he is lodging in the house of Simon, a tanner, by the sea.'

Acts 18:24
24 Now a Jew named Apollos, a native of Alexandria, came to Ephesus. He was an eloquent man, well versed in the scriptures.
Acts 19:1-41
1 While Apollos was at Corinth, Paul passed through the upper country and came to Ephesus. There he found some disciples.
2 And he said to them, "Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?" And they said, "No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit."
3 And he said, "Into what then were you baptized?" They said, "Into John's baptism."
4 Paul said, "John baptized with the baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe in the one who was coming after him, that is, in Jesus."
5 On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied.
7 There were about twelve men in all.
8 And he entered the synagogue and for three months spoke boldly, arguing and persuading about the kingdom of God.
9 But when some were stubborn and disbelieved, speaking evil of the Way before the congregation, he withdrew from them, and took the disciples with him, reasoning daily in the hall of Tyrannus.
10 This took place for two years, so that all who lived in the province of Asia heard the word of the Lord, both Jews and Greeks.
Acts 19:10-41
10 This took place for two years, so that all who lived in the province of Asia heard the word of the Lord, both Jews and Greeks.
11 God did extraordinary miracles by the hands of Paul,
12 so that handkerchiefs or aprons were even carried from his body to the sick, and diseases left them and the evil spirits went out.
13 But also some of the Jewish exorcists, who went from place to place, attempted to name over those who had the evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, "I adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preaches."
14 Seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, were doing this.
15 But the evil spirit answered them, "Jesus I know, and I know about Paul, but who are you?"
16 And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, overpowered all of them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.
17 This became known to all, both Jews and Greeks, who lived in Ephesus; and fear fell upon them all and the name of the Lord Jesus was being magnified.
18 Many also of those who believed now came, confessing and disclosing their practices.
19 And a number of those who practiced magic arts brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all; and they counted the value of them and found it came to fifty thousand pieces of silver.
20 So the word of the Lord grew mightily and prevailed.
21 Now after these things were finished, Paul purposed in the spirit to go to Jerusalem after he had passed through Macedonia and Achaia, saying, "After I have been there, I must also see Rome."
22 And having sent into Macedonia two of his helpers, Timothy and Erastus, he himself stayed in Asia for a while.
23 About that time there arose no small disturbance concerning the Way.
24 For a man named Demetrius, a silversmith, who made silver shrines of Artemis, brought no little business to the craftsmen.
25 These he gathered together, with the workmen of similar trades, and said, "Men, you know that from this business we have our wealth.
26 And you see and hear that not only in Ephesus, but in almost all of Asia, this Paul has persuaded and turned away a considerable number of people, saying that gods made with hands are no gods at all.
27 Not only is there danger that this trade of ours fall into disrepute, but also that the temple of the great goddess Artemis be regarded as worthless and that she whom all of Asia and the world worship will even be dethroned from her magnificence."
28 When they heard this, they were enraged and began crying out, "Great is Artemis of the Ephesians!"
29 The city was filled with the confusion, and they rushed with one accord into the theater, dragging along Gaius and Aristarchus, Paul's traveling companions from Macedonia.
30 Paul wanted to go in among the crowd, but the disciples would not let him.
31 Some of the Asiarchs also, who were friends of his, sent to him and begged him not to venture into the theater.
32 Now some were shouting one thing, some another; for the assembly was in confusion, and most of the people did not know why they had come together.
33 Some of the crowd prompted Alexander, since the Jews had put him forward. And Alexander motioned with his hand, wishing to make a defense to the people.
34 But when they recognized that he was a Jew, for about two hours they all with one voice shouted, "Great is Artemis of the Ephesians!"
35 And when the town clerk had quieted the crowd, he said, "Men of Ephesus, what man is there after all who does not know that the city of the Ephesians is guardian of the temple of the great Artemis and of the image which fell down from heaven?
36 Therefore, since these facts are undeniable, you ought to be quiet and do nothing rash.
37 For you have brought these men here who are neither robbers of temples nor blasphemers of our goddess.
38 If then Demetrius and the craftsmen with him have a complaint against anyone, the courts are open, and there are proconsuls; let them bring charges against one another.
39 But if you want anything further, it shall be settled in the lawful assembly.
40 As it is, we are in danger of being charged with rioting because of today's events. In that case we would not be able to account for this commotion, since there is no reason for it."
41 After he had said this, he dismissed the assembly.

11 To this present hour we are both hungry and thirsty, and we are poorly clothed, and roughly treated, and homeless;
12 and we toil, working with our own hands. When we are reviled, we bless; when we are persecuted, we endure;

5 And there are varieties of service, but the same Lord.
6 There are varieties of working, but the same God who works all of them in all men.
7 But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.
8 To one is given through the Spirit the word of wisdom, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit,
9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit,
10 and to another the working of miracles, and to another prophecy, and to another distinguishing between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongues.
11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually just as he wills.
12 For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though they are many, are one body, so it is with Christ.
13 For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one bodywhether Jews or Greeks, slaves or freeand we were all made to drink of one Spirit.

2 Timothy 2:3-12
3 Share in hardship as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.
4 No soldier in active service gets entangled in civilian affairs, since his aim is to please the one who enlisted him as a soldier.
5 Also if anyone competes as an athlete, he does not win the prize unless he competes according to the rules.
6 The hard-working farmer ought to be the first to receive his share of the crops.
7 Consider what I say, for the Lord will give you understanding in everything.
8 Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, descended from David according to my gospel,
9 for which I am suffering even to the point of wearing chains like a criminal. But the word of God is not chained.
10 Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they too may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.
11 Here is a trustworthy saying: if we died with him, we will also live with him;
12 if we endure, we will also reign with him; if we deny him, he also will deny us;

11 they will perish, but you remain; they will all grow old like a garment,
12 you will roll them up like a mantle; and like a garment they will be changed. But you remain the same, and your years will never end."
13 But to which of the angels has he ever said, "Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies a stool for your feet"?
Hebrews 2:14-17
14 Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same nature, that through death he might destroy him who has the power of death, that is, the devil,
15 and might free those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives.
16 For surely it is not with angels that he is concerned, but with the descendants of Abraham.
17 Therefore he had to be made like his brethren in every respect, so that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in the service of God, to make atonement for the sins of the people.

16 who has become a priest not on the basis of a law of carnal requirement, but according to the power of an indestructible life.

25 Therefore he is able also to save forever those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.

1 Peter 2:5-9
5 you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
6 For it stands in scripture: "Behold, I lay in Zion a stone, a cornerstone chosen and precious, and he who believes in him will not be put to shame."
7 To you therefore who believe, this is precious, but for those who do not believe, "The very stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone,"
8 and, "A stone that causes men to stumble and a rock that makes them fall;" they stumble because they disobey the wordas they were desstined to do.
9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's own possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
1 Peter 4:7
7 The end of all things is near; therefore be clear minded and sober for your prayers.
1 Peter 4:11
11 Whoever speaks is to do so as one who is speaking the utterances of God; whoever serves is to do so as one who is serving by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belongs the glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
