⁴² Watch therefore, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming.

³⁶ "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only.

The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak."

³³ Take heed, watch; for you do not know when the time will come. ³⁴ It is like a man going on a journey, when he leaves his house and puts his servants in charge, each with his work, and commands the doorkeeper to be on the watch. ³⁵ Watch thereforefor you do not know when the master of the house will come, in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or in the morning ³⁶ lest, coming suddenly, he find you sleeping. ³⁷ And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch!"

³⁵ "Let your waist be girded and your lamps burning, ³⁶ and be like men who are waiting for their master to return from the wedding feast, so that they may open to him immediately when he comes and knocks. ³⁷ Blessed are those servants whom the master finds watching when he comes. Truly, I say to you that he will gird himself and have them sit at table, and will come and serve them. ³⁸ If he comes in the second watch, or in the third, and finds them so, blessed are those servants. ³⁹ But know this, that if the owner of the house had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have allowed his house to be broken into. ⁴⁰ Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect."

³⁶ Watch at all times, and pray always that you may have strength to escape all these things that will take place, and to stand before the Son of Man."

¹¹ And do this, knowing the hour, that now it is full time for you to wake from sleep. For now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed.

¹³ Be on the your guard, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.

⁶ So then let us not sleep, as others do, but let us be alert and sober.

⁷ The end of all things is near; therefore be clear minded and sober for your prayers.

⁸ Be sober, be alert. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

² Wake up, and strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have not found your works perfect in the sight of my God. ³ Remember therefore what you have received and heard; keep it, and repent. But if you will not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what hour I will come upon you.
