⁵¹ and he will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Many people who were rich put in large sums. ⁴² And a poor widow came, and put in two copper coins, which make a penny. ⁴³ And he called his disciples to him, and said to them, "Truly, I say to you, this poor widow has put in more than all those who are contributing to the treasury. ⁴⁴ For they all put in out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in everythingall she had to live on."

⁴ But there were some who said to themselves indignantly, "Why was this ointment wasted? ⁵ For it might have been sold for more than three hundred denarii and given to the poor." And they criticized her sharply.

⁸ She has done what she could. She has come beforehand to anoint my body for burial.

³⁷ Then he came and found them sleeping, and he said to Peter, "Simon, are you asleep? Could you not watch one hour? ³⁸ Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak."

¹⁰ And the whole multitude of the people were praying outside at the hour of incense.

³⁶ Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.

And after it was sold, was it not at your disposal? How is it that you have conceived this deed in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God." ⁵ When Ananias heard these words, he fell down and died. And great fear came upon all who heard of it. ⁶ The young men arose and wrapped him up, carried him out, and buried him. ⁷ After an interval of about three hours his wife came in, not knowing what had happened. ⁸ Peter said to her, "Tell me whether you sold the land for such and such a price." And she said, "Yes, that was the price." ⁹ Then Peter said to her, "How is it that you have agreed together to test the Spirit of the Lord? Look, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out." ¹⁰ Immediately she fell down at his feet and died. When the young men came in they found her dead, and they carried her out and buried her beside her husband.

³⁰ Cornelius said, "Four days ago to this hour, I was praying in my house during the ninth hour; and behold, a man stood before me in shining garments, ³¹ and he said, 'Cornelius, your prayer has been heard and your alms have been remembered before God. ³² Send therefore to Joppa and ask for Simon who is called Peter; he is lodging in the house of Simon, a tanner, by the sea.' ³³ So I sent for you immediately, and you have been kind enough to come. Now therefore we are all here present in the sight of God, to hear all that you have been commanded by the Lord." ³⁴ And opening his mouth, Peter said: "I most certainly understand now that God is not one to show partiality, ³⁵ but in every nation the man who fears him and does what is right is welcome to him.

¹⁷ so that the rest of mankind may seek the Lord, and all the Gentiles who are called by my name,' ¹⁸ says the Lord, who makes these things known from long ago.

¹ I appeal to you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.

⁹ and in order that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy. As it is written: "Therefore I will praise you among the Gentiles, and sing to your name"; ¹⁰ and again it says: "Rejoice, O Gentiles, with his people!" ¹¹ and again, "Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles, and praise him, all you peoples";

¹⁶ to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles in the priestly service of the gospel of God, so that the offering of the Gentiles might be acceptable, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.

¹³ Do you not know that those who work in the temple get their food from the temple, and those who serve at the altar share in what is offered on the altar?

²¹ You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You cannot partake of the table of the Lord and the table of demons.

²¹ for in eating, each one goes ahead with his own meal, and one is hungry and another is drunk. ²² What! Do you not have houses to eat and drink in? Or do you despise the church of God and humiliate those who have nothing? What shall I say to you? Shall I praise you in this? No, I will not.

²⁷ Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of profaning the body and blood of the Lord. ²⁸ Let a man examine himself, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup. ²⁹ For anyone who eats and drinks without recognizing the body eats and drinks judgment on himself. ³⁰ That is why many among you are weak and sick, and a number of you have fallen asleep. ³¹ But if we judged ourselves rightly, we would not be judged. ³² But when we are judged, we are disciplined by the Lord so that we will not be condemned along with the world.

¹² For if the readiness is there, it is acceptable according to what a man has, not according to what he does not have.

²¹ For they all seek after their own interests, not those of Christ Jesus.

⁸ Therefore I want the men in every place to pray, lifting up holy hands, without anger or quarreling.

¹ Let all who are under the yoke of slavery regard their masters as worthy of all honor, so that the name of God and the teaching may not be spoken against. ² Those who have believing masters must not be disrespectful to them because they are brethren, but they must serve them all the better, because those who benefit by their service are believers and beloved. Teach and urge these duties.

¹⁵ which he will bring about at the proper timehe who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords,

⁹ Teach slaves to be subject to their masters in everything, to be well-pleasing, not to talk back to them, ¹⁰ and not to steal, but to show that they can be fully trusted, so that in everything they will adorn the doctrine of God our Savior.

²⁶ For it was fitting that we should have such a high priest, holy, blameless, unstained, separated from sinners, exalted above the heavens. ²⁷ He does not need, like those high priests, to offer up daily sacrifices, first for his own sins and then for the sins of the people, because he did this once for all when he offered up himself.

³⁸ But my righteous one shall live by faith, and if he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him."

²⁹ for our God is a consuming fire.

¹⁵ Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name. ¹⁶ Do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.

¹³ Come now, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, and spend a year there and engage in business and make a profit." ¹⁴ Yet you do not know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. ¹⁵ Instead, you ought to say, "If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that." ¹⁶ As it is, you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil.

¹⁷ If you address as Father the One who impartially judges according to each one's work, conduct yourselves in fear during the time of your exile on earth.

¹⁷ Honor all people, love the brotherhood, fear God, honor the king. ¹⁸ Servants, be submissive to your masters with all respect, not only to those who are good and gentle, but also to those who are overbearing. ¹⁹ For a man is approved if, mindful of God, he bears up under pain while suffering unjustly.

² shepherd the flock of God that is under your care, serving as overseersnot under compulsion, but voluntarily, according to the will of God; and not for sordid gain, but with eagerness;

⁸ And when he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each one holding a harp and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.

³ Another angel, who had a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. And he was given much incense to offer, with the prayers of all the saints, on the golden altar before the throne. ⁴ And the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, went up before God from the angel's hand.

¹⁵ Then the seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, "The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign for ever and ever."

⁴ Who will not fear, O Lord, and glorify your name? For you alone are holy. All the nations will come and worship before you, for your righteous acts have been revealed."

⁸ But as for the cowardly, the unbelieving, the immoral, as for murderers, fornicators, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their lot will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death."
