¹² So, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience;

²² And if those days had not been shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened.

²⁴ For false christs and false prophets will arise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.

³¹ And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

²⁰ And if the Lord had not shortened those days, no flesh would be saved; but for the sake of the elect, whom he chose, he shortened the days.

⁷⁸ through the tender mercy of our God, with which the sunrise from on high will visit us;

⁷ And will not God bring about justice for his elect, who cry to him day and night? Will he delay long over them?

⁷ To all in Rome who are beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

²⁹ For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. ³⁰ And those whom he predestined, he also called; those whom he called, he also justified; and those whom he justified, he also glorified. ³¹ What then shall we say to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? ³² He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all, how will he not also give us all things with him? ³³ Who shall bring any charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies.

¹¹ though the twins were not yet born and had done nothing either good or bad, in order that God's purpose of election might stand, not because of works but because of his call,

⁵ So too at the present time there is a remnant, chosen by grace. ⁶ And if it is by grace, then it is no longer on the basis of works; otherwise, grace would no longer be grace. ⁷ What then? Israel did not obtain what it sought. The elect obtained it, but the rest were hardened,

⁹ Let love be genuine. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. ¹⁰ Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; outdo one another in showing honor.

⁶ in purity, knowledge, patience, kindness, in the Holy Spirit, in genuine love,

⁶ For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision is of any avail, but faith working through love.

²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, ²³ gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

⁴ just as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before him. In love

⁴ But God, who is rich in mercy, because of his great love with which he loved us, ⁵ even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),

² with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love,

²⁴ and put on the new nature, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.

³² Be kind and tenderhearted to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

⁸ For God is my witness, how I long for you all with the affection of Christ Jesus.

¹ Therefore if there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion, ² make my joy complete by being of the same mind, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. ³ Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. ⁴ Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.

¹⁰ and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.

³ remembering before our God and Father your work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. ⁴ For we know, brethren beloved by God, that he has chosen you; ⁵ for our gospel came to you not only in word, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction. You know what kind of men we proved to be among you for your sake. ⁶ You became imitators of us and of the Lord, for you received the word in much affliction, with the joy of the Holy Spirit;

¹⁵ See that none of you repays evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to all.

¹³ But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God chose you from the beginning to be saved, through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth. ¹⁴ He called you to this through our gospel, that you may share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

⁹ who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and the grace which was granted us in Christ Jesus from all eternity,

¹⁰ Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they too may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.

¹ Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, for the faith of God's elect and the knowledge of the truth which leads to godliness,

⁴ But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, ⁵ he saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but because of his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal in the Holy Spirit, ⁶ whom he poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior,

¹⁷ But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, without uncertainty or hypocrisy. ¹⁸ And the harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.

² who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, by the sanctifying work of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and sprinkling with his blood: may grace and peace be yours in abundance.

⁸ Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble in spirit. ⁹ Do not return evil for evil or insult for insult, but give a blessing instead; for to this you were called, that you may inherit a blessing. ¹⁰ For, "He who would love life and see good days must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit. ¹¹ He must turn away from evil and do good; he must seek peace and pursue it.

⁵ For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith virtue; and to virtue, knowledge, ⁶ and to knowledge, self-control, and to self-control, perseverance, and to perseverance, godliness, ⁷ and to godliness, brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness, love. ⁸ For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁰ Therefore, brethren, be all the more eager to make your calling and election sure. For if you do these things, you will never fall;

¹⁴ We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love abides in death. ¹⁵ Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him. ¹⁶ By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. ¹⁷ But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him? ¹⁸ Little children, let us not love in word or tongue but in deed and in truth. ¹⁹ By this we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him ²⁰ whenever our hearts condemn us; for God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything.

¹⁹ We love because he first loved us.

¹³ The children of your chosen sister greet you.

¹⁴ These will make war against the Lamb, and the Lamb will overcome them, because he is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those who are with him are the called and chosen and faithful."
