¹³ bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord forgave you, so you also must forgive.

⁴⁴ But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,

¹² And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.

¹⁴ For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. ¹⁵ But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

¹⁵ "If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother. ¹⁶ But if he will not listen, take one or two others along with you, so that 'every matter may be established by the word of two or three witnesses.' ¹⁷ If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.

²¹ Then Peter came to him and said, "Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?" ²² Jesus said to him, "I do not say to you seven times, but seventy times seven. ²³ Therefore the kingdom of heaven is like a certain king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants. ²⁴ When he began the settlement, one was brought to him who owed him ten thousand talents. ²⁵ And as he was not able to pay, his master ordered that he be sold, with his wife and children and all that he had, and payment to be made. ²⁶ So the servant fell on his knees before him, saying, 'Have patience with me, and I will pay you everything.' ²⁷ The master of that servant took pity on him, released him, and forgave him the debt. ²⁸ But that servant went out and found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii; and he laid hands on him and took him by the throat, saying, 'Pay me what you owe.' ²⁹ So his fellow servant fell down at his feet and begged him, 'Have patience with me, and I will pay you back.' ³⁰ But he refused, and went and threw him into prison till he should pay the debt. ³¹ When his fellow servants saw what had taken place, they were greatly distressed, and went and told their master all that had happened. ³² Then his master, after he had called him, said to him, 'You wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt because you begged me. ³³ Should not you have had mercy on your fellow servant, just as I had mercy on you?' ³⁴ And in anger his master delivered him to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed. ³⁵ So also my heavenly Father will do to each of you, if you do not forgive your brother from your heart."

²⁵ And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.

²⁰ When he saw their faith he said, "Man, your sins are forgiven you." ²¹ And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, "Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God alone?" ²² But when Jesus perceived their thoughts, he answered them, "Why are you reasoning in your hearts? ²³ Which is easier, to say, 'Your sins are forgiven you,' or to say, 'Rise up and walk'? ²⁴ But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins"he said to the man who was paralyzed "I say to you, rise, take up your bed and go home."

³⁵ But love your enemies, do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For he is kind to the ungrateful and evil. ³⁶ Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. ³⁷ "Judge not, and you will not be judged. Condemn not, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.

⁴⁸ And he said to her, "Your sins are forgiven." ⁴⁹ Then those who reclined at the table with him began to say among themselves, "Who is this who even forgives sins?" ⁵⁰ He said to the woman, "Your faith has saved you; go in peace."

⁴ And forgive us our sins, for we ourselves also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation.'"

³ Take heed to yourselves; if your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him. ⁴ And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and turns to you seven times, and says, 'I repent,' you must forgive him."

³⁴ And the people stood watching; but even the rulers sneered at him, saying, "He saved others; let him save himself if he is the Christ of God, the Chosen One."

¹ We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak, and not to please ourselves. ² Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, to build him up.

⁷ Therefore, welcome one another, just as Christ also welcomed you, to the glory of God.

⁷ Actually, then, it is already a defeat for you, that you have lawsuits with one another. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be defrauded? ⁸ Instead, you yourselves defraud and do wrong, and you even do this to your brethren.

¹⁰ Any one whom you forgive, I also forgive. What I have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, has been for your sake in the presence of Christ,

⁶ in purity, knowledge, patience, kindness, in the Holy Spirit, in genuine love,

² Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

² with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love,

³² Be kind and tenderhearted to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

² and walk in love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

¹² So, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience;

¹³ For judgment will be without mercy to one who has shown no mercy; mercy triumphs over judgment.

²¹ For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.
