Nehemiah 5:1 Cross References - CLV

¹ And there is a great cry of the people and their wives, concerning their brethren the Jews,

⁷ Then Yahweh said: I see, yea see the humiliation of My people who are in Egypt. And I hear their crying because of the presence of their exactors; for I know their pains.

²⁵ If you obligate My people, the humble with you, with silver, you shall not be as a moneylender to him; you shall not impose interest on him. ²⁶ If you take in pledge, yea in pledge the raiment of your associate, previous to sunset you shall restore it to him, ²⁷ for it is his only covering. It is his garment for his skin: wherein shall he lie? When it comes to be that he is crying to Me, then I will hear, for I am gracious.

³⁵ In case your brother is reduced to poverty, and his hand slips beside you, then make him steadfast as if he were sojourner or guest, so that your brother may live beside you. ³⁶ Do not take advance interest or accrued interest from him. You will fear your Elohim, so that your brother be alive beside you. ³⁷ Your silver you shall not give to him on advance interest, nor give your food on accrued interest.

⁷ In case there should be among you a needy person, one of your brothers within one of your gates in your land that Yahweh your Elohim is giving to you, you shall neither make your heart rigid nor shut your hand from your needy brother. ⁸ Rather you shall open, yea open your hand to him and let him give security, yea security sufficient for his lack that is lacking to him. ⁹ Guard yourself lest there should be in your heart the decadent word, saying:The seventh year is near, the year of the release, so that your eye is evil toward your needy brother, and you give him nothing. Then he may call out to Yahweh concerning you, and it will be held as a sin against you. ¹⁰ You shall give, yea give to him, and your heart shall not feel bad at your giving to him. For owing to this matter Yahweh your Elohim shall bless you in all your work and in every undertaking of your hand. ¹¹ Since the needy shall not leave off from being within the land, therefore I am instructing you, saying:You shall open, yea open your hand to your brother, to your humble and to your needy in your land.

³⁸ If my ground has cried out against me, And its furrows have wept together with it, ³⁹ If I have eaten of its vigor without paying silver, So that I have caused the soul of its possessor to expire,

²⁸ But they caused the cry of the poor to be brought before Him, So that He heard the cry of the humble.

⁷ For the vineyard of Yahweh of hosts is the house of Israel, and each man of Judah His plant delectable. And He is expecting judgment, and behold! Transgression! Righteousness, and behold! A cry!"

⁷ Yet should not God by all means be doing the avenging of His chosen ones, who are imploring Him day and night? And He is patient with them."

²⁶ Besides, on the ensuing day he was seen by them as they are fighting, and he interceded with them for peace, saying, Men! Brethren are you! Why is it that you are injuring one another?

⁶ but brother is suing brother, and this before unbelievers!" ⁷ Already, indeed, then, it is absolutely a discomfiture for you that you are having lawsuits among yourselves. Wherefore are you not rather being injured? Wherefore are you not rather being cheated? ⁸ But you are injuring and cheating, and this to brethren!"

⁴ Lo! the wage of the workers, who mow your country places, which has been withheld by you, is crying, and the imploring of the reapers has entered into the ears of the Lord of hosts."
