Job 7:1 Cross References - CLV

¹ Has not a mortal a life of enlistment on the earth? And his days, are they not like the days of a hireling?

⁵⁰ He will compute with his buyer the total from the year he sold himself to him until the year of the jubilee. And the silver for his release sale will be with regard to the number of years, as though he were for the days of a hireling under him.

¹⁸ It should not seem hard in your eyes when you dismiss him from you free because he was worth double the hire of a hireling when he served you six years. So Yahweh your Elohim will bless you in all that you shall do.

⁷ But humanity is born to misery, Even as sparks of burning coal shoot aloft to fly.

⁵ Since his days are decided, The number of his months are set by You, And You have made his statutory time, Which he cannot surpass, ⁶ Be heedless of him, and forbear, Until, like a hireling, he may fill in his days.

¹³ O that You would seclude me in the unseen, That You would conceal me until Your anger turns back, That You would set a statutory time for me and then remember me. ¹⁴ If a master dies shall he live again? All the days of my enlistment I shall wait Until my relief comes.

⁴ Acquaint me, O Yahweh, with my end And the measure of my days--what it is. Do let me realize how quickly my leaving off can be."

⁸ No man has authority over the spirit to detain the spirit, And no one has authority over the day of death; There is no dismissal in war, And wickedness shall make no way of escape for its possessor."

¹⁶ For thus says my Lord Yahweh to me, "In three years further, as the years of a hireling, vanished will be all the glory of the sons of Kedar,

⁵ Go, and say to Hezekiah, "`Thus says Yahweh, the Elohim of David, your forefather, "I have heard the voice of your prayer. I have seen your tears. Behold! I will add to your days fifteen years."

² Speak you to the heart of Jerusalem, and call to her, for fulfilled is her enlistment, for run out is her depravity, for she takes from the hand of Yahweh a shelter from all her sins."

¹ For like is the kingdom of the heavens to a man, a householder, who came out at the same time with the morning to hire workers for his vineyard." ² Now, agreeing with the workers for a denarius a day, he dispatches them into his vineyard." ³ And, coming out about the third hour, he perceived others standing in the market, idle." ⁴ And to those he said, 'You also go into my vineyard, and whatsoever may be just I shall be giving you.' Now they came away." ⁵ Now, again coming out about the sixth and ninth hour, he does similarly." ⁶ Now, about the eleventh, coming out, he found others standing. And he is saying to them, 'Why stand you here the whole day idle?'" ⁷ They are saying to him that 'No one hires us.' He is saying to them, 'You also go into the vineyard.'" ⁸ Now, evening coming on, the lord of the vineyard is saying to his manager, 'Call the workers and pay them the wages, beginning from the last, to the first.'" ⁹ And, coming, those hired about the eleventh hour got a denarius apiece. " ¹⁰ And, coming, the first infer that they will be getting more. And they also got a denarius apiece." ¹¹ Now, getting it, they murmured against the householder, ¹² saying, 'These last do one hour, and you make them equal to us who bear the burden of the day and the scorching heat.'" ¹³ Yet he, answering one of them, said, 'Comrade, I am not injuring you! Did you not agree with me for a denarius? ¹⁴ Pick up what is yours and go away. Now I want to give to this last one even as to you. ¹⁵ Is it not allowed me to do what I want with that which is mine? Or is your eye wicked, seeing that I am good?'"

⁹ Jesus answered, "Are there not twelve hours in the day? If anyone should be walking in the day, he is not stumbling, for he is observing the light of this world." ¹⁰ Yet if anyone should be walking in the night, he is stumbling, for the light is not in him."
