¹ Then Elihu continued to answer and said: ² Hear my declarations, you wise men, And you having knowledge, give ear to me. ³ For the ear tests declarations As the palate tastes food. ⁴ Let us choose for ourselves what is due; Let us know between us what is good. ⁵ For Job has said:I am just, Yet El, He has taken away my due;" ⁶ Concerning my due, should I lie? My lesion is mortal, yet I am without transgression. ⁷ What master is like Job? He drinks derision like water; ⁸ He travels in partnership with contrivers of lawlessness And goes about with men of wickedness. ⁹ For he says, It is unprofitable for a master When he strives to be acceptable to Elohim. ¹⁰ Wherefore, men of wise heart, hearken to me:Far be it from El to do wickedness, And Him Who Suffices to do iniquity. ¹¹ For the contrivance of a human, He shall repay it to him, And according to man's path, He shall provide it to him. ¹² El, truly indeed He does not do wickedness, And He Who Suffices does not distort judgment. ¹³ Who gave supervision to Him over the earth, And who appointed Him over the habitance, all of it? ¹⁴ If He places it in His heart concerning him, He can gather back His spirit and His breath to Himself;" ¹⁵ All flesh would expire together, And humanity would return to the soil. ¹⁶ Now if you have understanding, hear this; Give ear to the sound of my declarations. ¹⁷ Indeed, can anyone hating judgment govern? And would you condemn the Abundantly Righteous One, ¹⁸ Who says to a king, Worthless one, And to patrons, Wicked one, ¹⁹ Who does not repute chiefs, Nor is He partial to the rich-man above the poor,For they all are the work of His hands? ²⁰ In a moment they die; At midnight the people reel and pass away, And the sturdy are taken away by no human hand. ²¹ For His eyes are on the ways of a man, And He sees all his steps. ²² There is no darkness and no blackest shadow To conceal there the contrivers of lawlessness. ²³ For He does not set an appointed time for a man To go before El in judgment. ²⁴ He smashes those of abundance without investigation And installs others in their stead. ²⁵ Wherefore, He recognizes their occupations And overturns them in a night, and they are crushed. ²⁶ He slaps them down with the wicked, In a place where all can see, ²⁷ Because they withdrew from following Him And did not contemplate any of His ways, ²⁸ But they caused the cry of the poor to be brought before Him, So that He heard the cry of the humble. ²⁹ When He is quiet, who can condemn? When He conceals His face, who can regard Him? Yet He is over a nation and over humanity alike. ³⁰ Lest a polluted human reign, One from the entrappers of the people. ³¹ Indeed has one said to El, I have been lured away; I shall not harm any more;" ³² Until I can perceive, direct me Yourself; If I have contrived iniquity, I shall not do so again? ³³ Shall He repay it on your terms since you have rejected otherwise, Since you yourself are choosing, and not I? Now what you know, speak. ³⁴ Men of heart shall say to me, And any wise master who is hearkening to me. ³⁵ Job is not speaking with knowledge, And his words are not with intelligence. ³⁶ My will is that Job should be tested unto permanence For making replies like men of lawlessness. ³⁷ For he adds transgression to his sin; Among us he slaps his hands And increases his sayings against El.

¹⁹ In the sweat of your face shall you eat your bread, till your return to the ground, for from it are you taken, for soil you are, and to soil are you returning.

¹³ And calling is Hagar the name of Yahweh Who spoke to her, "You-El-see me.For she says, "Moreover, hither see I, after my seeing?

²⁵ Far be it from You to do according to this word, to put to death the righteous with the wicked, and so come the righteous to be as the wicked. Far be it from You! The Judge of the entire earth, will He not execute judgment?

²³ In the course of these many days it came to be that the king of Egypt died. Yet the sons of Israel sighed under the servitude and cried out, and their imploration ascended to the One, Elohim, out of the servitude. ²⁴ Elohim heard their moaning, and Elohim was mindful of His covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

⁷ Then Yahweh said: I see, yea see the humiliation of My people who are in Egypt. And I hear their crying because of the presence of their exactors; for I know their pains.

⁹ And now, behold, the cry of the sons of Israel has come to Me, and indeed, I have seen the oppression with which Egypt has been oppressing them.

²⁹ It came to be at midnight that Yahweh, He smote every firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh, sitting on his throne, unto the firstborn of the captive who was in the house of the cistern, and every firstborn of beast. ³⁰ When Pharaoh rose by night, he and all his servants and all the Egyptians, then there came to be a great cry in all the land of Egypt, for there was no house where there was no one dead.

³⁰ Thus Yahweh saved Israel on that day from the hand of Egypt. Then Israel saw the Egyptians dead on the shore of the sea;

²³ If you humiliate, yea humiliate him, in case he should cry, yea cry to Me, I shall hear, yea hear his cry, ²⁴ and My anger will grow hot, and I will kill you with the sword, and your wives will become widows and your sons orphans. ²⁵ If you obligate My people, the humble with you, with silver, you shall not be as a moneylender to him; you shall not impose interest on him. ²⁶ If you take in pledge, yea in pledge the raiment of your associate, previous to sunset you shall restore it to him, ²⁷ for it is his only covering. It is his garment for his skin: wherein shall he lie? When it comes to be that he is crying to Me, then I will hear, for I am gracious. ²⁸ You shall not maledict the elohim, and a prince among your people you shall not curse.

¹⁵ You shall not do iniquity in judgment; you shall not lift up the face of the poor nor honor the face of the great. In righteousness shall you judge your companion.

⁴¹ so that I Myself also went contrary to them and brought them into the land of their enemies), if then their uncircumcised heart should submit, and if then they should accept their depravity,

¹⁷ For Yahweh your Elohim, He is the Elohim of elohim and the Lord of lords, the El, the great, the masterful and the fear-inspiring One, Who neither lifts up faces in partiality nor takes a bribe,

⁹ For you shall kill, yea kill him. Your hand shall be among the first against him to put him to death, and the hand of all the people thereafter. ¹⁰ You will stone him with stones so that he dies, for he sought to induce you away from Yahweh your Elohim, the One bringing you forth from the country of Egypt, from the house of servants. ¹¹ Thus all Israel shall hearken and fear, and they shall not again do anything like this evil thing among you.

²¹ Then all the men of his city will pelt him with stones so that he dies. Thus you will eradicate the evil from among you, and all Israel shall hear and fear.

¹⁹ And it will come to be when he hears the words of this imprecation that he will bless himself in his heart, saying:I shall come to have peace, though I am going in the obduracy of my own heart, seeing that the satiated may be swept up with the thirsty.

⁴ The Rock--flawless is His contrivance, for all His ways are righteous judgment. The El of faithfulness and without iniquity; just and upright is He.

³⁰ And it has come to pass, every one who sees has said, `There has not been--yea, there has not been seen like this, from the day of the coming up of the sons of Israel out of the land of Egypt till this day; set your [heart] upon it, take counsel, and speak..

⁷ lo, you [are] all sons of Israel; give for you a word and counsel here..

³⁰ `Therefore--the affirmation of Yahweh, Elohim of Israel--I certainly said, Your house and the house of your father, do walk up and down before Me to the eon; and now--the affirmation of Yahweh--Far be it from Me! for he who is honoring Me, I honor, and those despising Me, are lightly esteemed. <sup>31</sup> `Lo, days [are] coming, and I have cut off your arm, and the arm of the house of your father, that an old man is not in your house;" ³² and you have beheld an adversary [in My] habitation, in all that He does good with Israel, and there is not an old man in your house all the days. ³³ `And the man I cut not off of your from Mine altar, [is] to consume your eyes, and to grieve your soul; and all the increase of your house do die men;" ³⁴ and this [is] to you the sign that comes unto your two sons, unto Hophni and Phinehas--in one day they die both of them;" ³⁵ and I have raised up for Me a stedfast priest; as in My heart and in My soul he does do; and I have built for him a stedfast house, and he has walked up and down before Mine anointed all the days;" ³⁶ and it has been, every one who is left in your house does come in to bow himself to him, for a wage of silver, and a cake of bread, and has said, Admit me, I pray you, unto one of the priest's offices, to eat a morsel of bread..

¹¹ `I have repented that I caused Saul to reign for king, for he has turned back from after Me, and My words he has not performed;' and it is displeasing to Samuel, and he cries unto Yahweh all the night.

²³ for a sin of divination [is] rebellion, and iniquity and teraphim [is] stubbornness; because you have rejected the word of Yahweh, He also does reject you from [being] king..

³⁷ And it comes to pass in the morning, when the wine is gone out from Nabal, that his wife declares to him these things, and his heart dies within him, and he has been as a stone. ³⁸ And it comes to pass, [in] about ten days, that Yahweh smites Nabal, and he dies, ³⁹ and David hears that Nabal [is] dead, and said, `Blessed [is] Yahweh who has pleaded the cause of my reproach from the hand of Nabal, and His servant has kept back from evil, and the wickedness of Nabal has Yahweh turned back on his own head;' and David sends and speaks with Abigail, to take her to him for a wife.

¹⁰ And David said, `Yahweh lives; except Yahweh does smite him, or his day come that he has died, or into battle he go down, and has been consumed-.

¹¹ thus said Yahweh, Lo, I am raising up against you evil, out of your house, and have taken your wives before your eyes, and given to your neighbor, and he has lain with your wives before the eyes of this sun;" ¹² for you have done [it] in secret, and I do this thing before all Israel, and before the sun..

²¹ And Abishai son of Zeruiah answers and said, `For this is not Shimei put to death--because he reviled the anointed of Yahweh?.

³ He said--the Elohim of Israel--to me, He spoke--the Rock of Israel:He who is ruling over man [is] righteous, He is ruling in the fear of Elohim.

²⁸ And the king takes counsel, and makes two calves of gold, and said unto them, `Enough to you of going up to Jerusalem; lo, your elohims, O Israel, which brought you up out of the land of Egypt.. ²⁹ And he sets the one in Beth-El, and the other he has put in Dan, ³⁰ and this thing becomes a sin, and the people go before the one--unto Dan.

⁷ Go, say to Jeroboam, Thus said Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, Because that I have made you high out of the midst of the people, and appoint you leader over my people Israel, ⁸ and rend the kingdom from the house of David, and give it to you, --and you have not been as My servant David who kept My commands, and who walked after Me with all his heart, to do only that which [is] right in Mine eyes,

¹⁴ `And Yahweh has raised up for Him a king over Israel who cuts off the house of Jeroboam this day--and what? --even now!

⁹ And it comes to pass, in the fourth year of king Hezekiah--it [is] the seventh year of Hoshea son of Elah king of Israel--come up has Shalmaneser king of Asshur against Samaria, and lays siege to it, ¹⁰ and they capture it at the end of three years; in the sixth year of Hezekiah--it [is] the ninth year of Hoshea king of Israel--has Samaria been captures, ¹¹ and the king of Asshur removes Israel to Asshur, and placed them in Halah, and in Habor [by] the river Gozan, and [in] cities of the Medes, ¹² because that they have not hearkened to the voice of Yahweh their Elohim, and transgress His covenant--all that He commanded Moses, servant of Yahweh--yea, they have not hearkened nor done [it].

⁹ And they have not hearkened, and Manasseh causes them to err, to do the evil thing above the nations that Yahweh destroyed from the presence of the sons of Israel.

¹¹ To You, O Yahweh, [is] the greatness, and the might, and the beauty, and the victory, and the honor, because of all in the heavens and in the earth; to You, O Yahweh, [is] the kingdom, and he who is lifting up himself over all for head;"

⁹ for Yahweh--His eyes go to and fro in all the earth, to show Himself strong [for] a people whose heart [is] perfect towards Him; you have been foolish concerning this, because--henceforth there are with you wars..

⁷ and now, let fear of Yahweh be upon you, observe and do, for there is not with Yahweh our Elohim perverseness, and acceptance of faces, and taking of a bribe..

¹⁴ Also, all the heads of the priests, and the people, having multiplied to commit a trespass according to all the abominations of the nations, and they defile the house of Yahweh that He has sanctified in Jerusalem. ¹⁵ And Yahweh, Elohim of their fathers, sends unto them by the hand of His messengers--rising early and sending--for He has had pity on His people, and on His habitation, ¹⁶ and they are mocking at the messengers of Elohim, and despising His words, and acting deceitfully with His prophets, till the going up of the fury of Yahweh against His people--till there is no healing. ¹⁷ And He causes to go up against them the king of the Chaldeans, and he slays their chosen ones by the sword in the house of their sanctuary, and has had no pity on young man and virgin, old man and very aged--the whole He has given into his hand.

¹³ After all that has come over us because of our evil deeds and our great guilt--though You, O our Elohim, have kept back, punishing us less than our depravity deserves, and You have given us a deliverance, such as this-.

³³ and You [are] righteous concerning all that has come upon us, for truth You have done, and we have done wickedly;" ³⁴ and our kings, our heads, our priests, and our fathers, have not done Your law, nor attended unto Your commands, and to Your testimonies, that You have testified against them;" ³⁵ and they, in their kingdom, and in Your abundant goodness, that You have given to them, and in the land, the large and the fat, that You have set before them, have not served You, nor turned back from their evil doings. ³⁶ `Lo, we--to-day--[are] servants, and the land that You have given to our fathers, to eat its fruit and its good--lo, we [are] servants on it, ³⁷ and its increase it is multiplying to the kings whom You have set over us in our sins; and over our bodies they are ruling, and over our cattle, according to their pleasure, and we [are] in great distress. ³⁸ And for all this we are making a stedfast covenant, and are writing, and over him who is sealed [are] our heads, our Levites, our priests..

²² In all this, Job neither sinned nor ascribed anything improper to Elohim.

¹⁰ Yet he said to her, Like the speech of some decadent woman are you speaking. Indeed should we receive good from the One, Elohim, and should we not receive evil? In all this, Job did not sin with his lips.

⁵ May darkness and the blackest shadow sully it; May a cloud tabernacle over it; May rolling fogs of the day frighten it.

⁴ For the arrows of Him Who Suffices are in me; Their venom is what my spirit has been drinking; Frightenings from Eloah are arrayed against me.

³⁰ Is there iniquity on my tongue? Or does not my palate understand woes?

¹⁷ What is a mortal that You should make a great thing of him, Or that You should set Your heart on him?

² How long shall you declare these things, And the sayings of your mouth be such abundant wind? ³ Does El distort judgment, And should He Who Suffices distort justice?

² I shall say to Eloah, O do not condemn me! Let me know for what reason You contend with me!" ³ Is it good to You that You should work harm, That You should reject the labor of Your palms, And that You shine on the counsel of the wicked?

⁷ Although Your knowledge is that I am not wicked, And there is no one rescuing from Your hand?

⁹ Remember now that You molded me like clay; Shall You then turn me back to soil?

² Shall this multitude of words not be answered? And should this man of glib lips be justified? ³ Shall your inventions turn men to silence? And shall you keep deriding while there is no one criticizing?

³ However, I have heart understanding as well as you; I am not falling behind you; For who is there not knowing such things as these?

⁶ The tents of devastators are at ease, And for those disturbing El there is serenity, For him who brings along an eloah in his hand.

⁵ For your depravity trains your mouth, And you choose the tongue of the crafty.

¹⁶ How much less man, Who is abhorrent and spoiled, Who is drinking iniquity like water.

³¹ No one may rely upon such futility; He shall be led astray, For futility shall become his remuneration.

¹³ His multitudes surround me; He splits open my innermost being and does not spare; He pours out my bile on the earth.

¹⁷ Although there is no violence in my palm, And my prayer is pure.

²¹ That He may plead between a master and Eloah, As between a son of humanity and his associate.

⁴ O one tearing his soul to pieces in his anger, On account of you shall the earth be forsaken, And the rock be shifted from its place?

⁷ For what reason should the wicked live on? They develop and become masterful with potent power.

¹⁴ Yet they say to El, Go away from us, For we do not desire a knowledge of Your ways. ¹⁵ What is He Who Suffices that we should serve Him? And what benefit would we gain that we should make intercession to Him? ¹⁶ Behold, is not their good in their hand? (Still, the counsel of the wicked is far from me..

³⁰ That the evil one is kept back in the day of calamity; In the day of rage they are escorted safely?

⁹ Widows you have sent away empty, And the arms of orphans you have crushed. ¹⁰ Therefore, snares are round about you, And sudden alarm fills you with panic;"

¹⁵ Are you keeping the path of the eon of old That the men of lawlessness tread,

¹⁷ Who were saying to El, Withdraw from us, And, What can He Who Suffices effect for us?

² Today as well, my meditation will seem rebellious; His hand is heavy on my sighing.

⁷ There an upright man would plead with Him; Let me win deliverance permanently from my Judge. ⁸ Behold, I go to the east, and He is not there, And back again, and I cannot detect Him. ⁹ When He is working to the left, I do not perceive Him; He goes back to the right, yet I do not see Him.

¹³ Yet He is One, and who can turn Him back? What His soul has yearned for He shall do.

¹⁶ El Himself has made my heart tender, And He Who Suffices has flustered me.

¹ For what reason have times for judgment not been set aside by Him Who Suffices, And why do those knowing Him not perceive His days?

¹² In the city the dying moan, And the soul of the wounded implores for help; Yet Eloah, He does not place charges of impropriety.

¹⁷ For altogether morning is a shadow of death to them, For each one values the decadence of the blackest shadow.

² As El lives, Who has taken away judgment for me, He Who Suffices, Who has brought bitterness on my soul,

⁴ My lips shall assuredly not speak iniquity, And my tongue, it shall assuredly not soliloquize deceit. ⁵ Far be it from me should I ever justify you; Until I expire, I shall not put away my integrity from me. ⁶ I will hold fast to my righteousness, and I shall not relax; My heart shall never reproach me throughout my days.

¹ Then Job continued to lift up his discourse and said: ² O that I were as in former months, As in the days when He, Eloah was guarding me, ³ When He caused His lamp to irradiate over my head, And by His light I went through the darkness,

¹² For I made a way of escape for the humble who implored, And the orphan and him who had no helper. ¹³ The blessing of the one perishing came on me, And I caused the heart of the widow to jubilate. ¹⁴ I put on righteousness, and it clothed me; My right judgment was as a robe and a turban.

²³ I know that You are turning me back to death, To that house appointed for all the living.

¹⁹ If I have seen anyone perishing from lack of clothing, And there was no covering for the needy, ²⁰ If his loins did not bless me, Since he was warmed with the fleece of my lambs,

³⁰ (Yet I have not allowed my mouth to sin By asking with an imprecation against his soul),

¹ So these three men ceased from answering Job, for he was righteous in his own eyes.

² Behold, now, I open my mouth; My tongue speaks in my palate.

⁵ Reply to me if you can; Do arrange yourself and stand up before me;

⁹ I am pure, without transgression; I am unstained, and no depravity is in me;"

²⁶ He shall entreat to Eloah, and He shall accept him; He shall see His face with joyful shouting And shall recall to mortals his vindication. ²⁷ He shall sing before mortals and say, I have sinned and depraved what is upright, Yet He did not compensate it fully to me.

³² If there are declarations reply to me; Speak, for I would delight to justify you.

Or who directed its cornerstone in place, ⁷ When the stars of the morning jubilated together, And all the sons of Elohim shouted with joy? ⁸ Who shut in the sea with double doors When it rushed forth, it came forth from the womb, ⁹ When I made a cloud its garment And murkiness its swaddling band, ¹⁰ When I set My statute upon it And broke bar and doors, ¹¹ When I said, Unto here shall you come but shall not proceed farther, And here a limit is set to the pride of your billows? ¹² In all your days have you ever instructed the morning? Have you made known to the dawn its place, ¹³ That it might take hold of the wings of the earth, And the wicked be shaken out of it? ¹⁴ It turns itself to hues like sealed clay And is streaked like a garment. ¹⁵ Then from the wicked their light is withheld And the exalted arm is broken. ¹⁶ Have you ever come unto the seepings of the sea Or walked about to fathom the abyss? ¹⁷ Have the gates of death been revealed to you, And have you seen the gates of the shadow of death? ¹⁸ Have you comprehended the vast width of the earth? Tell if you know all of it. ¹⁹ Where is this, the pathway where light tabernacles, And where is this, where darkness has its place, ²⁰ That you may take it to its territory, And that you may understand the tracks to its home? ²¹ You know, for you were born back then! And the number of your days is great!" ²² Have you entered into the treasuries of snow, And have you seen the treasuries of hail, ²³ Which I have kept back for the season of distress, For the day of attack and war? ²⁴ Where is this, the pathway where light is apportioned, Where the east wind is scattered over the earth? ²⁵ Who has divided off a trench for overflowing rains And set a pathway for the perceptible portents of thunderclaps, ²⁶ To bring rain on a land where no man is, A wilderness with no human it it, ²⁷ To satisfy areas of ruination and wasteness, And to cause verdure to sprout from the arid place? ²⁸ Is there a father for the rain? Or who has begotten the globules of dew? ²⁹ From whose belly has the ice come forth? And the hoarfrost of the heavens, who has generated it, ³⁰ When water hides itself as stone, And the face of the abyss is frozen over? ³¹ Can you tie up the windings of the Pleiades? Or can you unloose the draw-cords of Orion? ³² Can you bring forth the planets in their season? And the Great Bear with her cubs, can you guide them? ³³ Do you know the statutes of the heavens? Or can you establish its superintendence over the earth? ³⁴ Can you raise up your voice to the thick clouds That the accumulation of water may cover you? ³⁵ Can you send forth the lightning bolts that they may go? And do they say to you, Here we are? ³⁶ Who has set wisdom in the hidden parts? Or who has given understanding to the mind? ³⁷ Who can number the sky clouds in wisdom? And the waterskins of the heavens, who can tip down, ³⁸ When the soil is solidly set into lumpy casts, And the clods are clung together? ³⁹ Can you hunt the prey for the lioness? And can you fill the life needs of the sheltered lions, ⁴⁰ When they prostrate in their habitations, Sit for ambush in their covert? ⁴¹ Who prepares its provision for the raven, When its young implore to El, Which stray without food?

³ Then Job answered Yahweh and said, ⁴ Behold, I am slight; how can I reply to You? I place my hand upon my mouth. ⁵ I spoke once but shall not answer further, Twice, but I shall not continue.

⁷ For the vineyard of Yahweh of hosts is the house of Israel, and each man of Judah His plant delectable. And He is expecting judgment, and behold! Transgression! Righteousness, and behold! A cry!"

¹² And coming are harp and zither, tambourine and flute. And wine is in their feasts. Yet at the contrivance of Yahweh they are not looking. And the doing of His hands they do not see."

² The people walking in darkness will see a great light; dwellers in a death-shadowed land, light is bright over them."

¹⁶ Wherefore, the Lord Yahweh of hosts will send upon his stout ones leanness. ⁴ Fury have I none. Will anyone set against Me buckthorns and spines for a fight? Will I transgress in it? And ravage it altogether?

¹⁵ Woe to those digging deep, to conceal counsel from Yahweh, and it comes that their doings are in darkness. And saying are they, `Who sees us?' And `Who knows us?'"

¹³ wherefore, this depravity will come to you as a falling breach, an extrusion in a wall impregnable, of which, suddenly, in an instant, its break is coming."

³⁰ And caused to be heard by Yahweh is the splendor of His voice, and the dismay of His arm shall He show. In the turbulence of anger, and the blaze of a devouring fire, He will crash and storm, and do it with hail stones heavy." ³¹ For by the voice of Yahweh, Assyria is dismayed, with a club will He smite them." ³² And it comes that every passing of the disciplinary rod, which Yahweh will rest on them, is with tambourines and with harps. And with waving battles He fights against them, ³³ for arranged since yesterday was the pyre. Moreover it is prepared, yea prepared, for the king, He deepens, He widens its abode for fire and much wood. The breath of Yahweh, as a watercourse of sulphur, is consuming in it."

¹⁷ And it comes that the yield of righteousness shall be welfare, and the service of righteousness, quietness and trust till the eon."

³ A bruised reed He will not break, and dimmed flax He will not quench, for truth will He bring forth judgment."

⁹ Will anyone contend with his Former? The earthenware with the ceramists? Is the clay saying to its potter, `What are you making?' And your contrivance, `No hands has he'?

¹⁶ For not for the eon will I contend, nor will I be permanently wroth, in case the spirit from before Me shall droop, and all who have breath, that I made."

¹⁸ And I know their deeds and their devices! I will come to convene all the nations and the tongues. And they come and see My glory."

¹ Righteous [are] You, O Yahweh, When I plead towards you, Only, judgments do I speak with You, Wherefore did the way of the wicked prosper? At rest have been all treacherous dealers."

¹⁰ I Yahweh do search the heart, try the reins, Even to give to each according to his way, According to the fruit of his doings."

²⁴ Is any one hidden in secret places, And I see him not? an affirmation of Yahweh, Do not I fill the heavens and the earth? An affirmation of Yahweh."

⁸ And it has come to pass, the nation and the kingdom that do not serve him--Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon--and that which puts not its neck into the yoke of the king of Babylon, with sword, and with famine, and with pestilence, I lay a charge on that nation--an affirmation of Yahweh--till I consume them by his hand."

¹⁷ And the sons of your people have said:The way of the Lord is not pondered, As to them--their way is not pondered." ¹⁸ In the turning back of the righteous from his righteousness, And he has done perversity--he dies for it." ¹⁹ And in the turning back of the wicked from his wickedness, And he has done judgment and righteousness, by them he lives." ²⁰ And you have said:The way of the Lord is not pondered, Each according to his ways do I judge you, O house of Israel.'"

⁷ To Thee, my Lord, is righteousness, yet to us is shamefacedness as at this day:To each man of Judah, to the dwellers of Jerusalem, to all the people of Israel, the near and the far, in all the lands where Thou hast expelled them for their offense with which they offend Thee." ⁸ To Thee, Yahweh, is righteousness, yet to us is shamefacedness:To our kings, to our chiefs, to our forefathers, who sin against Thee."

⁹ Of Yahweh our Elohim are compassions and pardons; for we revolt against Him." ¹⁰ We do not hearken to the voice of Yahweh our Elohim, to go in His laws which He sets before us by the hand of His servants the prophets." ¹¹ All Israel--they trespass against Thy law to withdraw so as not to hearken to Thy voice. Hence pouring forth on us is the imprecation and the oath which is written in the law of Moses, the servant of Elohim; for we sin against Him." ¹² Hence He is setting up His words, which He speaks concerning us and concerning our judges who judge us, to bring on us this great evil which is not done under the entire heavens as it is done in Jerusalem." ¹³ According to that which is written in the law of Moses, all this evil comes on us; yet we do not beseech the face of Yahweh our Elohim, so as to turn back from our depravities and to be intelligent in all Thy truth." ¹⁴ Alert is Yahweh over the evil, and He is bringing it on us. Just is Yahweh our Elohim in all His doings which He does; yet we do not hearken to His voice."

¹¹ Ephraim shall be extorted and bruised in judgment, for he is disposed to go after futilities."

² They avoid saying to their heart that I remember all their evil. Now their own actions surround them; in front of My face they come.

¹¹ I am giving you a king in My anger, and I am taking him away in My rage."

⁷ Yahweh swears by the pomp of Jacob, if I shall forget permanently any of their doings--!"

² If they are burrowing into the unseen, thence My hand will take them. And if they are ascending to the heavens, thence will I bring them down." ³ And if they are hiding in the summit of Carmel, thence will I search and take them. And if they are concealed from in front of My eyes on the floor of the sea, thence will I instruct the serpent, and it will bite them."

⁸ Behold! the eyes of my Lord Yahweh are on the sinning kingdom, and I will exterminate it off the surface of the ground, only that I will not utterly exterminate the house of Jacob, (averring is Yahweh)."

¹⁶ They are keeping the statutes of Omri, and every deed of the house of Ahab; and you are going in their counsels, that I may give you up to desolation, and its dwellers to hissing, and you shall bear the reproach of My people."

⁹ The turbulence of Yahweh I will bear, for I have sinned against Him, till He is contending my contention, and shall execute my judgment. He will bring me forth to the light; I shall see by His righteousness."

¹² Are You not from aforetime, Yahweh? My Eloah, my Holy One, You shalt not die. Yahweh, for judgment do You place him, and, O Rock, for correction, You do found him." ¹³ You are of cleaner eyes than to see evil, and to look at toil You are not able. Why are You looking at the treacherous, are silent when the wicked swallow one up more righteous than he?

⁶ and those turned away from after Yahweh, who do not seek Yahweh, nor inquire of Him."

¹⁵ And now, set, I pray, your heart from this day and onward. Ere was placed a stone on a stone in the temple of Yahweh, ¹⁶ what came to you? One came to a threshed grain bin for twenty seahs, yet it came to be ten. One came to a wine-vat to make it bare of fifty measures in the winepress, yet it came to be twenty." ¹⁷ I smote you with blasting and with green mold and with hail in all the work of your hands, yet you are not returning to Me, (averring is Yahweh)." ¹⁸ Set, I pray, your heart from this day and onward. From the twenty fourth day of the ninth month, from the day on which the temple of Yahweh is founded, set your heart." ¹⁹ Is the seed still in the underground hoard? And have the vine and the fig tree and the pomegranate and the olive tree still not borne? From this day will I bless.

⁶ And I am saying, No, my lord. And he is answering and speaking to me, saying, This is the word of Yahweh to Zerubbabel, saying:Not by valor, nor by vigor, but rather by My spirit, says Yahweh of hosts."

¹⁴ You say, It is futility to serve Elohim. And what gain is it that we keep His charge, and that we go somberly in view of Yahweh of hosts?

²³ And then shall I be avowing to them that 'I never knew you! Depart from Me, workers of lawlessness!'"

²⁷ Verily I am saying to you that there are some of those standing here who under no circumstances should be tasting death till they should be perceiving the Son of Mankind coming in His kingdom."

¹² saying, 'These last do one hour, and you make them equal to us who bear the burden of the day and the scorching heat.'" ¹³ Yet he, answering one of them, said, 'Comrade, I am not injuring you! Did you not agree with me for a denarius? ¹⁴ Pick up what is yours and go away. Now I want to give to this last one even as to you. ¹⁵ Is it not allowed me to do what I want with that which is mine? Or is your eye wicked, seeing that I am good?'"

⁶ Now in the middle of the night a clamor occurs: 'Lo! the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!'

⁸ Produce, then, fruits worthy of repentance. And you should not begin to be saying among yourselves, 'For a father we have Abraham,' for I am saying to you that God is able, out of these stones, to rouse children to Abraham." ⁹ Now already the ax also is lying at the root of the trees. Every tree, then, which is not producing ideal fruit is hewn down and cast into the fire." ¹⁰ And the throngs inquired of him, saying "What, then, should we be doing? ¹¹ Now answering, he said to them, "He who has two tunics, let him be sharing with him who has none, and let him who has food be doing likewise." ¹² Now tribute collectors also came to be baptized, and they said to him, "Teacher, what should we be doing? ¹³ Now he said to them, "Impose nothing more than has been prescribed to you." ¹⁴ Now soldiers also inquired of him, saying, "What should we also be doing?And he said to them, "You should be intimidating no one, neither be blackmailing, and be sufficed with your rations."

²⁰ Yet God said to him, 'Imprudent one! In this night your soul are they demanding from you. Now, what you make ready, whose will it be?'"

²⁷ He also will be declaring: 'I am saying to you, I am not acquainted with you! Whence are you? Withdraw from me, all workers of injustice!'"

²⁶ And according as it occurred in the days of Noah, thus will it be in the days of the Son of Mankind also." ²⁷ They ate, they drank, they married, they took out in marriage, until the day on which Noah entered into the ark, and the deluge came and destroys them all." ²⁸ Likewise, according as it occurred in the days of Lot, they ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built." ²⁹ Yet on the day in which Lot came out from Sodom, fire and sulphur rains from heaven and destroys them all."

³¹ In that day, he who shall be on the housetop and his gear in his house, let him not be descending to pick it up. And let the one in the field likewise not turn back to that behind him." ³² Remember Lot's wife.

²⁴ Be not judging by the countenance, but be judging just judging."

²⁷ Peace I am leaving with you. My peace I am giving to you. Not according as the world is giving to you, am I giving to you. Let not your heart be disturbed, neither let it be timid."

³⁴ Now Peter, opening his mouth, said, "Of a truth I am grasping that God is not partial,

²³ Now instantly a messenger of the Lord smites him, because he gives not the glory to God, and, becoming the food of worms, he gives up his soul."

³⁸ Yet Paul counted the man who withdraws from them from Pamphylia and comes not with them to the work - this man not worthy to take along.

³ Then Paul said to him, "God is about to beat you, whitewashed wall! And you are sitting to judge me according to the law, and illegally are you ordering me to be beaten!"

⁵ And Paul averred, "I was not aware, brethren, that he is chief priest. For it is written that, 'Of your people's chief you shall not be declaring evil.'"

⁶ Who will be paying each one in accord with his acts:

¹¹ For there is no partiality with God,

⁴ May it not be coming to that! Now let God be true, yet every man a liar, even as it is written: "That so Thou shouldst be justified in Thy sayings, And shalt be conquering when Thou art being judged." ⁵ Now if our injustice is commending God's righteousness, what shall we declare? Not that God Who is bringing on indignation is unjust! (As a man am I saying it.)"

Else how shall God be judging the world? ⁷ Yet if the truth of God superabounds in my lie, for His glory, why am I also still being judged as a sinner,

³¹ What then, shall we declare to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? ³² Surely, He Who spares not His own Son, but gives Him up for us all, how shall He not, together with Him, also, be graciously granting us all? ³³ Who will be indicting God's chosen ones? God, the Justifier? ³⁴ Who is the Condemner? Christ Jesus, the One dying, yet rather being roused, Who is also at God's right hand, Who is pleading also for our sakes?

¹⁴ What, then, shall we be declaring? Not that there is injustice with God? May it not be coming to that!"

²⁰ O man! who are you, to be sure, who are answering again to God? That which is molded will not protest to the molder, "Why do you make me thus?

³⁴ For, who knew the mind of the Lord? or, who became His adviser? ³⁵ or, who gives to Him first, and it will be repaid Him?

³⁵ or, who gives to Him first, and it will be repaid Him? ³⁶ seeing that out of Him and through Him and for Him is all: to Him be the glory for the eons! Amen!

² and not to be configured to this eon, but to be transformed by the renewing of your mind, for you to be testing what is the will of God, good and well pleasing and perfect."

⁷ Render to all their dues, to whom tax, tax, to whom tribute, tribute, to whom fear, fear, to whom honor, honor."

¹⁵ Now he who is spiritual is, indeed, examining all, yet he is being examined by no one."

⁵ So that, be not judging anything before the season, till the Lord should be coming, Who will also illuminate the hidden things of darkness and manifest the counsels of the hearts. And then applause will be coming to each one from God."

² Or are you not aware that the saints shall judge the world? And if the world is being judged by you, are you unworthy of the least tribunals? ³ Are you not aware that we shall be judging messengers, not to mention life's affairs? ⁴ If indeed, then, you should have tribunals for life's affairs, the contemptible in the ecclesia, these you are seating? ⁵ To abash you am I saying this. Thus is there not among you one wise man who will be able to adjudicate amidst his brethren,

¹⁵ As to the prudent am I saying it. Judge ye what I am averring.

²⁰ Brethren, do not become little children in disposition. But in evil be minors, yet in disposition become mature."

³³ Be not deceived: evil conversations are corrupting kind characters.

¹⁰ For all of us must be manifested in front of the dais of Christ, that each should be requited for that which he puts into practice through the body, whether good or bad."

⁶ Now from those reputed to be somewhat-what kind they once were is of no consequence to me (God is not taking up the human aspect)-for to me those of repute submitted nothing.

¹¹ Now when Cephas came to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, for he was self-censured." ¹² For, before the coming of some from James, he ate together with those of the nations. Yet when they came, he shrank back, and severed himself, fearing those of the Circumcision." ¹³ And the rest of the Jews also play the hypocrite with him, so that Barnabas also was led away with their hypocrisy." ¹⁴ But when I perceived that they are not correct in their attitude toward the truth of the evangel, I said to Cephas in front of all, "If you, being inherently a Jew, are living as the nations, and not as the Jews, how are you compelling the nations to be judaizing?

⁷ Be not decived, God is not to be sneered at, for whatsoever a man may be sowing, this shall he be reaping also, ⁸ for he who is sowing for his own flesh, from the flesh shall be reaping corruption, yet he who is sowing for the spirit, from the spirit shall be reaping life eonian."

²² to put off from you, as regards your former behavior, the old humanity which is corrupted in accord with its seductive desires,

²⁵ Wherefore, putting off the false, let each be speaking the truth with his associate, for we are members of one another." ²⁶ Are you indignant, and not sinning? Do not let the sun be sinking on your vexation, ²⁷ nor yet be giving place to the Adversary. ²⁸ Let him who steals by no means still be stealing: yet rather let him be toiling, working with his hands at what is good, that he may have to share with one who has need."

⁹ And, masters, be doing the same toward them, being lax in threatening, being aware that their Master as well as yours is in the heavens, and there is no partiality with Him. "

⁷ and the peace of God, that is superior to every frame of mind, shall be garrisoning your hearts and your apprehensions in Christ Jesus."

²⁵ For he who is injuring shall be requited for that which he injures, and there is no partiality."

² for you yourselves are accurately aware that the day of the Lord is as a thief in the night - thus is it coming!

²¹ Yet be testing all, retaining the ideal."

⁶ if so be that it is just of God to repay affliction to those afflicting you, ⁷ and to you who are being afflicted, ease, with us, at the unveiling of the Lord Jesus from heaven with His powerful messengers,

⁴ who is opposing and lifting himself up over everyone termed a god or an object of veneration, so that he is seated in the temple of God, demonstrating that he himself is God? ⁵ Do you not remember that, still being with you, I told you these things? ⁶ And now you are aware what is detaining, for him to be unveiled in his own era." ⁷ For the secret of lawlessness is already operating. Only when the present detainer may be coming to be out of the midst, ⁸ then will be unveiled the lawless one (whom the Lord Jesus will despatch with the spirit of His mouth and will discard by the advent of His presence), ⁹ whose presence is in accord with the operation of Satan, with all power and signs and false miracles" ¹⁰ and with every seduction of injustice among those who are perishing, because they do not receive the love of the truth for their salvation." ¹¹ And therefore God will be sending them an operation of deception, for them to believe the falsehood,

²⁰ Those who are sinning be exposing in the sight of all, that the rest also may have fear."

²⁴ Some men's sins are taken for granted, preceding them into judging, yet some are following up also."

¹⁰ for Demas, loving the current eon, forsook me and went to Thessalonica, Crescens to Galatia, Titus to Dalmatia."

² For if the word spoken through messengers came to be confirmed, and every transgression and disobedience obtained a fair reward,

¹³ And there is not a creature which is not apparent in its sight. Now all is naked and bare to the eyes of Him to Whom we are accountable.

¹⁴ Now solid nourishment is for the mature, who, because of habit, have faculties exercised for discriminating between the ideal and the evil."

³⁹ Yet we are not of those shrinking back to destruction, but of faith for the procuring of the soul."

²⁶ deeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt, for he looked away to the reward."

²⁸ Wherefore, accepting an unshakable kingdom, we may have grace through which we may be offering divine service in a way well pleasing to God, with piety and dread,

¹³ Let no one, undergoing trial, be saying that "From God am I undergoing trial,for God is not tried by evils, yet He is trying no one."

⁵ Hear, my beloved brethren! Does not God choose the poor in the world, rich in faith and enjoyers of the allotment of the kingdom which He promises to those who are loving Him?

⁴ Lo! the wage of the workers, who mow your country places, which has been withheld by you, is crying, and the imploring of the reapers has entered into the ears of the Lord of hosts."

¹¹ Lo! we are counting those happy who endure. You hear of the endurance of Job, and you perceived the consummation of the Lord, for very compassionate and pitiful is the Lord."

¹⁷ And if you are invoking the Father, Who is judging impartially according to each one's work, you may behave, for the time of your sojourn, with fear,

¹⁷ Honor all; love the brotherhood; fear God; honor the king.

³ and in greed, with suave words, they will traffic in you, whose judgment of old is not idling, and their destruction is not nodding."

¹⁰ yet specially those going after the flesh in defiling lust and despising lordship. Audacious, given to self-gratification, they are not trembling when calumniating glories,

⁸ Howbeit, these dreamers also, likewise are indeed defiling the flesh, yet are repudiating lordship and calumniating glories."

¹⁵ And the kings of the earth, and the magnates, and the captains, and the rich, and the strong, and every slave and freeman, hide themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains." ¹⁶ And they are saying to the mountains and to the rocks, "Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him Who is sitting on the throne, and from the indignation of the Lambkin,

³ And I perceived one of its heads as if it had been slain to death, and its death blow was cured, and the whole earth marvels after the wild beast." ⁴ And they worship the dragon, seeing that it gives authority to the wild beast. And they worship the wild beast, saying, "Who is like the wild beast?and "Who is able to battle with it?

¹¹ And I perceived another wild beast ascending out of the land, and it had two horns like a lambkin's, and it spoke as a dragon." ¹² And it is exercising all the authority of the first wild beast in its sight, and making the earth and those dwelling in it to be worshiping the first wild beast, whose death blow was cured." ¹³ And it is doing great signs, that it may be making fire, also, descend out of heaven into the earth in the sight of mankind." ¹⁴ And it is deceiving those dwelling on the earth because of the signs which were given it to do in the sight of the wild beast, saying to those dwelling on the earth to make an image to the wild beast which has the blow of the sword and lives."

⁹ And the kings of the earth, who commit prostitution and indulge with her, will be lamenting and grieving over her whenever they may be observing the smoke of her conflagration, ¹⁰ standing afar off because of the fear of her torment, saying, 'Woe! Woe! that great city! Babylon, the strong city! for in one hour your judging came.'"

²⁰ Make merry over her, O heaven, and ye saints and apostles and prophets, seeing that God judges by passing your sentence upon her."

¹² And I perceived the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne. And the scrolls were opened. And another scroll was opened which is the scroll of life. And the dead were judged by that which is written in the scrolls in accord with their acts."

¹² Lo! I am coming swiftly, and My wage is with Me, to pay each one as his work is."
