¹ So Job answered and said: ² Today as well, my meditation will seem rebellious; His hand is heavy on my sighing. ³ O that I knew where I might find Him, That I might come unto His establishment!" ⁴ I would arrange a plea before Him And fill my mouth with pleadings. ⁵ I would know the declarations with which He shall answer, And I would understand what He shall say to me. ⁶ Shall He contend against me with an abundance of vigor? Surely He Himself shall not place charges against me! ⁷ There an upright man would plead with Him; Let me win deliverance permanently from my Judge. ⁸ Behold, I go to the east, and He is not there, And back again, and I cannot detect Him. ⁹ When He is working to the left, I do not perceive Him; He goes back to the right, yet I do not see Him. ¹⁰ But He knows the way with me; He tests me, and I shall go forth like gold. ¹¹ My feet have held closely to His movements; I have kept to His way and have not turned aside. ¹² From the instruction of His lips I do not remove myself; I have secluded in my bosom the sayings of His mouth. ¹³ Yet He is One, and who can turn Him back? What His soul has yearned for He shall do. ¹⁴ For He shall accomplish what is marked out for me, And many other plans are with Him like these. ¹⁵ Therefore, I am flustered at His presence; When I consider I am afraid of Him. ¹⁶ El Himself has made my heart tender, And He Who Suffices has flustered me. ¹⁷ But I am not effaced because of darkness And because gloom has covered my face.

² O that my vexation could be weighed, yea weighed. And they could take up my woe upon the scales together with it. ³ Because now it is heavier than the sand of the seas, Therefore my words are impetuous.

¹¹ Indeed for me, I shall not keep back my mouth; I shall speak in the distress of my spirit; I shall importune in the bitterness of my soul.

¹ My soul is disgusted with my life; I shall give free rein to myself and my concern; Let me speak in the bitterness of my soul.

⁶ Then He would tell you obscured secrets of wisdom, For reality has double sides; Hence know this:that Eloah is granting you oblivion of some of your depravity.

⁴ For by day and night, Your hand was heavy upon me; My freshness was turned into the droughts of summer. {Interlude{ "

² In the day of my distress I sought after Yahweh; At night my hand was stirred up in prayer, And it would not give way; My soul refused to be consoled." ³ I remembered Elohim, yet I was discomfited; I meditated, yet my spirit drooped. {Interlude{ " ⁴ You held open the guardians of my eyes; I was agitated, and I could not speak." ⁵ I took account of the days from aforetime, The years of the eons, saying, ⁶ Let me remember my soliloquy in the night; Let me meditate with my heart. So my spirit searched, saying, ⁷ Shall Yahweh cast off for the eons, And shall He not continue to be benevolent any more? ⁸ Has His benignity reached its limit permanently? Has the promise reached an end for generation after generation? ⁹ Has El forgotten to be gracious? Or has He shut off His compassions in anger? {Interlude{

¹⁹ Remember my humiliation and my homelessness, the wormwood and poison;" ²⁰ My soul is remembering, yea remembering and is prostrate within me."

³ Howbeit, as for me, I would speak to Him Who Suffices, And to plead with El is what I desire.

²¹ That He may plead between a master and Eloah, As between a son of humanity and his associate.

³⁵ (O that I had someone hearing me! Behold, here is my mark; may He Who Suffices answer me! Let a man write his indictment against me on a scroll;" ³⁶ Assuredly, I would bear it on my back; I would wind it as crowns about me;" ³⁷ I would tell him the tale of my steps; Like a nobleman I would approach him.)

¹ So Yahweh answered Job and said: ² Will one contending with Him Who Suffices admonish Him? The one reproving Eloah, let him answer it. ³ Then Job answered Yahweh and said, ⁴ Behold, I am slight; how can I reply to You? I place my hand upon my mouth. ⁵ I spoke once but shall not answer further, Twice, but I shall not continue.

⁸ Indeed, in the path of Your judgments, Yahweh, we expect You. To Your name and to Your law is the yearning of our soul."

⁶ Inquire for Yahweh while He is to be found; call Him while He comes to be near. ⁷ Forsake shall the wicked one his way, and the lawless man his devices, and he shall return to Yahweh, and He will have compassion on him, and to our Elohim, for he will increasingly pardon your sins."

⁷ Surely our iniquities have testified against us, O Yahweh, work for Your name's sake, For many have been our backslidings, Against You we have sinned."

¹⁹ how that God was in Christ, conciliating the world to Himself, not reckoning their offenses to them, and placing in us the word of the conciliation." ²⁰ For Christ, then, are we ambassadors, as of God entreating through us. We are beseeching for Christ's sake, "Be conciliated to God!"

⁶ Since, then, it is left for some to be entering into it, and those to whom the evangel was formerly brought did not enter because of stubbornness,

²⁵ Far be it from You to do according to this word, to put to death the righteous with the wicked, and so come the righteous to be as the wicked. Far be it from You! The Judge of the entire earth, will He not execute judgment? ²⁶ And saying is Yahweh, "If finding am I in Sodom fifty righteous in the midst of the city, then bear will I with the entire place for their sake. ²⁷ And answering is Abraham and saying, "Behold, pray! Disposed am I to speak to Yahweh, and I am but soil and ashes. ²⁸ Perhaps lacking are the fifty righteous, five. Ruin wilt You, for five the entire city?And saying is He, "Not ruin it will I if I shall find there forty five. ²⁹ And proceeding is he further to speak to Him and saying, "Perhaps will be found there forty.And saying is He, "Not do it will I for the sake of the forty. ³⁰ And saying is he, "My Lord must not, pray, be hot when I speak. Perhaps will be found there thirty.And saying is He, "Not do it will I if I shall find there thirty. ³¹ And saying is he, "Behold, pray! Disposed am I to speak to my Lord. Perhaps will be found there twenty.And saying is He, "Not ruin it will I, for the sake of the twenty. ³² And saying is he, "My Lord must not, pray, be hot, when I shall speak, yea, once more. Perhaps will be found there ten.And saying is He, "Not ruin it will I, for the sake of the ten.

¹² And you said, `Good, yea, good will I do to you, and I make your seed as the sand of the sea, which is not being numbered for multitude..

¹² Why should the Egyptians speak, saying: For evil He brings them forth to kill them in the mountains and to finish them off the surface of the ground? Turn back from the heat of Your anger and show mercy concerning the evil to Your people. ¹³ Remember Abraham, Isaac and Israel, Your servants to whom You swore by Yourself. You spoke to them, saying: I shall increase your seed as the stars of the heavens, and all this land, as I have said, I shall give it to your seed, and they will gain it as an allotment for the eon.

¹³ Yet Moses said to Yahweh:The Egyptians have heard that You brought up this people by Your vigor, from among them;" ¹⁴ and they have spoken to the dwellers of this land; they have heard that You, Yahweh, are among this people, that You are being seen eye to eye, Yahweh, and Your cloud is standing over them, and in a column of cloud You are going before them by day and in a column of fire by night. ¹⁵ If You put this people to death as one man, then the nations who heard the report of You will say, saying. ¹⁶ Because Yahweh was unable to bring this people to the land about which He had sworn to them, He slew them in the wilderness. ¹⁷ So now let, I pray, the vigor of Yahweh be great just as You have spoken, saying. ¹⁸ Yahweh, slow to anger and with much kindness and truth, bearing with depravity and transgression and sin, yet He is not immediately making innocent in order to make innocent, but is visiting the depravity of the fathers on the sons, on the third and on the fourth generation. ¹⁹ Pardon, I pray, the depravity of this people according to the greatness of Your kindness just as You bore with this people from Egypt and hitherto.

⁸ Oh, Lord, what do I say, after that Israel has turned the neck before its enemies? ⁹ and the Canaanite and all the inhabitants of the land do hear, and have come round against us, and cut off our name out of the earth; and what do You do for Your great name?.

¹⁸ Behold now, I have arranged a plea; I know that I shall be justified.

¹⁹ Inform us what we should say to Him; We cannot arrange our case because of the darkness.

¹¹ On account of Your Name, O Yahweh, Thus pardon my depravity, though it be great."

¹ Judge me, O Elohim, and do contend my cause against an unkind nation. From the man of deceit and iniquity, may You deliver me."

²⁶ Remind Me, and We will be judged together. Relate your lawlessness first, that you may be just."

¹⁸ Stretch out, my Elohim, Thine ear and hear me; unclose Thine eyes and see our desolation and the city over which Thy name is called; for not on account of our righteousness are we casting our supplications before Thee, but on account of the multitude of Thy compassions." ¹⁹ My Lord, hear! My Lord, pardon! My Lord, attend and do! Thou must not be delaying on Thine own account, my Elohim, for Thy name is called over Thy city and over Thy people, Israel."

² I shall say to Eloah, O do not condemn me! Let me know for what reason You contend with me!"

²² Either call, and I shall answer, Or I shall speak; then, I pray, reply to me. ²³ How many are my depravities and sins? Let me know my transgression and my sin.

² I know that You can do all things, And no plan of Yours can be thwarted. ³ Who is this who obscures counsel without knowledge? Wherefore I have professed ideas when I was not understanding, Things too marvelous for me, that I did not know. ⁴ Hearken now, and I myself shall speak; I shall ask of you, and you inform Me. ⁵ With the hearing of the ear I had heard of You, But now my eye sees You. ⁶ Therefore I sink down and repent On soil and ashes.

³ Now to me it is the least trifle that I may be being examined by you or by man's day. But neither am I examining myself. ⁴ For of nothing am I conscious as to myself, but not by this am I justified. Now He Who is examining me is the Lord."

⁴ He is wise in heart and resolute in vigor; Who has stiffened himself against Him and fared well?

¹⁹ As for vigor, behold the Resolute One, And as for judgment, who can issue an appointment to Him?

³³ There is not any arbitrator between us, Who could set his hand on us both. ³⁴ Let Him withdraw His club from me, And let not the dread of Him frighten me.

²¹ Keep Your palm far from me, And let not the dread of You frighten me.

³ In the day I call, then You answer me; You make me dauntless with strength in my soul."

⁴ Fury have I none. Will anyone set against Me buckthorns and spines for a fight? Will I transgress in it? And ravage it altogether?

⁸ In moderation You did contend with her, when sending her away. He coos with His stiff wind in the day of the east wind."

³³ I live--an affirmation of the Lord Yahweh, Do not I, with a strong hand, And with a stretched-out arm, And with fury poured out--rule over you?

³⁵ And I have brought you in unto the wilderness of the peoples, And have been judged with you there face to face."

⁹ And He has protested to me, "Sufficient for you is My grace, for My power in infirmity is being perfected.With the greatest relish, then, will I rather be glorying in my infirmities, that the power of Christ should be tabernacling over me. " ¹⁰ Wherefore I delight in infirmities, in outrages, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake, for, whenever I may be weak, then I am powerful. "

¹⁵ I, who, though I were righteous, am not answered When I am supplicating to my Judge,

¹⁸ Go, pray and it shall be corrected,saying is Yahweh. "If your sins are coming to be as double dipped scarlet, as snow shall they be white. If they are reddened as crimson, as wool shall they become."

⁵ Does He keep to the eon? watch for ever?' Lo, these things you have spoken, And you do the evil things, and prevail."

¹ Righteous [are] You, O Yahweh, When I plead towards you, Only, judgments do I speak with You, Wherefore did the way of the wicked prosper? At rest have been all treacherous dealers."

¹⁹ Now we are aware that, whatever the law is saying, it is speaking to those under the law, that every mouth may be barred, and the entire world may become subject to the just verdict of God, ²⁰ because, by works of law, no flesh at all shall be justified in His sight, for through law is the recognition of sin." ²¹ Yet now, apart from law, a righteousness of God is manifest (being attested by the law and the prophets), ²² yet a righteousness of God through Jesus Christ's faith, for all, and on all who are believing, for there is no distinction,

¹ Nothing, consequently, is now condemnation to those in Christ Jesus. Not according to flesh are they walking, but according to spirit,

³³ Who will be indicting God's chosen ones? God, the Justifier? ³⁴ Who is the Condemner? Christ Jesus, the One dying, yet rather being roused, Who is also at God's right hand, Who is pleading also for our sakes?

¹¹ Behold, when He passes before me I cannot see Him, And when He passes by, I cannot detect Him.

¹⁴ How much less when you complain you are not regarding Him, That adjudication is set before Him, and you are awaiting Him?

¹ Why are You standing far off, O Yahweh? Why are You obscuring Yourself in seasons of distress?

¹ {A Davidic Psalm{ How long, O Yahweh? Shall You forget me permanently? How long shall You conceal Your face from me? ² How long shall I set griefs in my soul, With affliction in my heart by day and night? How long shall my enemy be exalted over me? ³ Do look! Answer me, O Yahweh my Elohim; Do enlighten my eyes lest I should sleep in death,

¹⁵ Surely, You, El, are concealing Yourself, the Elohim of Israel, a Saviour."

¹⁶ Who alone has immortality, making His home in light inaccessible, Whom not one of mankind perceived nor can be perceiving, to Whom be honor and might eonian! Amen!"

⁴⁶ How long, O Yahweh; shall You be concealed permanently? How long shall Your fury consume like fire?

¹⁷ I also tarry for Yahweh, the Concealer of His face from the house of Jacob, and my expectation is toward Him."

¹⁹ For I know him, that, responding, he will instruct his sons and his household after him, and keep will they the way of Yahweh to do justice and judgment, that Yahweh may bring on Abraham all that He speaks concerning him.

² And remember all the way which Yahweh your Elohim caused you to go these forty years in the wilderness, that He might make you humble, to probe you so as to know what is in your heart, whether or not you shall observe His instructions.

³ `I pray You, O Yahweh, remember, I pray You, how I have walked habitually before You in truth, and with a perfect heart, and that which [is] good in Your eyes I have done;' and Hezekiah weeps--a great weeping.

¹¹ Howbeit, now put forth your hand and touch all that is his. He shall assuredly scorn you to your face. ¹² Hence Yahweh said to Satan, Behold, all that he has is in your hand, but you must not put forth your hand upon himself. Then Satan went forth from Yahweh's presence.

⁵ Howbeit, now put forth your hand and touch his bone and his flesh. He shall assuredly scorn you to your face. ⁶ Hence Yahweh said to Satan, Behold him in your hand; yea, but keep his soul alive.

⁵ With the hearing of the ear I had heard of You, But now my eye sees You. ⁶ Therefore I sink down and repent On soil and ashes. ⁷ It came to pass after Yahweh had spoken these words to Job that Yahweh said to Eliphaz the Temanite:My anger is hot against you and your two associates because you did not speak concerning Me what is rightly so as My servant Job has done. ⁸ Now take for yourselves seven bullocks and seven rams. Go to my servant Job, and offer up an ascent offering on behalf of yourselves. And Job, my servant, he shall pray for you. For then I shall lift up his face by not inflicting on you any disgrace. For you did not speak concerning Me what is rightly so as My servant Job has done.

⁶ For Yahweh is knowing the way of the righteous, Yet the way of the wicked, it shall perish.

³ You have tested my heart; You have visited by night; You have refined me and find no crime in me at all; My mouth shall not trespass.

¹⁰ For You test us, O Elohim; You refine us like refined silver."

¹ {A Davidic Psalm{ O Yahweh, You have investigated me and are knowing me;" ² You Yourself know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought from afar; ³ My path and my pallet You have measured off, And for all my ways You have made provision."

³ The smelter for silver and the crucible for gold, Yet Yahweh is testing hearts."

⁹ And I will bring the third into the fire. And I will refine them as silver is refined. And I will test them as gold is tested. It shall call in My name, and I will answer it. I will say, My people is it. And it will say, Yahweh is my Elohim."

² Yet who will endure the day of His coming? And who will stand when He appears? For He is coming like a refiner's fire, and as launderers' soap." ³ And he shall sit as a refiner and cleanser of silver and gold. And he shall cleanse the sons of Levi, and cupel them as gold and as silver. And they shall come to be for Yahweh, bringing close the approach present in righteousness."

¹⁷ He is saying to him the third time, "Simon of John, are you fond of Me?Peter was sorry that He said to him the third time "Are you fond of Me?and he is saying to Him, "Lord, Thou art aware of all things! Thou knowest that I am fond of Thee.And Jesus is saying to him, "Graze My little sheep!"

¹⁹ Howbeit, the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: The Lord knew those who are His, and, Let everyone who is naming the name of the Lord withdraw from injustice. "

¹⁷ By faith Abraham, when undergoing trial, has offered Isaac, and he who receives the promises offered the only-begotten,

² All joy deem it, my brethren, whenever you should be falling into various trials, ³ knowing that the testing of your faith is producing endurance. ⁴ Now let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and unimpaired, lacking in nothing."

¹² Happy is the man who is enduring trial, for, becoming qualified, he will be obtaining the wreath of life, which He promises to those loving Him."

⁷ that the testing of your faith, much more precious than gold which is perishing, yet, being tested by fire, may be found for applause and glory and honor at the unveiling of Jesus Christ,

² and now, lo, the king is walking habitually before you, and I have become aged and gray-headed, and my sons, lo, they [are] with you, and I have walked habitually before you from my youth till this day. ³ `Lo, here [am] I; testify against me, over-against Yahweh, and over-against His anointed; whose ox have I taken, and whose ass have I taken, and whom have I oppressed; whom have I bruised, and of whose hand have I taken a ransom, and hide mine eyes with it? --and I restore to you.. <sup>4</sup> And they say, `You have not oppressed us, nor have you crushed us, nor have you taken from the hand of any one anything.. ⁵ And he said unto them, `A witness [is] Yahweh against you:and a witness [is] His anointed this day, that you have not found anything in my hand;' and they say, `A witness..

⁹ But the righteous one holds to his way, And the one of clean hands continues in resoluteness.

⁵ My movement is upheld in Your rounds; My footsteps shall slip no more.

²⁰ Yahweh requited me according to my righteousness; According to the purity of my hands He recompensed me. ²¹ For I have kept the ways of Yahweh, And I have not been wicked by turning from my Elohim." ²² For all His judgments have been in front of me, And I have not put away His statutes from me." ²³ I have become flawless before Him; Let me keep myself from my depravity. ²⁴ Yahweh recompensed me according to my righteousness, According to the purity of my hands in front of His eyes."

³ The words of his mouth are lawlessness and deceit; He evades even to contemplate doing good.

¹⁸ Our heart has not turned away backward, Nor has our movement turned aside from Your path."

⁵ As for those who turn aside to their tortuous ways, May Yahweh banish them with the contrivers of lawlessness. Peace be on Israel."

⁶ and those turned away from after Yahweh, who do not seek Yahweh, nor inquire of Him."

¹³ Now those on the rock are those who, whenever they should be hearing, with joy are receiving the word. And these have no root, who are believing for a season and, in a season of trial, are withdrawing." ¹⁴ Now that falling among the thorns, these are those who hear and, by worries and riches, and by the gratifications of life, going on, stifle, and are bringing nothing to maturity." ¹⁵ Now that in the ideal earth, these are they who, in a heart ideal and good, hearing the word, are retaining it and are bearing fruit with endurance."

¹⁸ Now as they came along to him, he said to them, "You are versed in the facts, from the first day on which I stepped into the province of Asia, how I came to be with you all the time, ¹⁹ slaving for the Lord with all humility and tears, and the trials which befell me by the plots of the Jews;"

³³ I covet no one's silver or gold or vesture." ³⁴ You know that these hands subserve my needs, and of those who are with me."

⁷ to those, indeed, who by endurance in good acts are seeking glory and honor and incorruption, life eonian;"

¹² For our boasting is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in holiness and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom, but in the grace of God, we behaved ourselves in the world, yet more superabundantly toward you."

¹⁰ You are witnesses, and God, how benignly and justly and blamelessly we became to you who are believing,

²⁰ For if, while fleeing from the defilements of the world by the recognition of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, yet, being again involved in these, they are being discomfited, their last state has become worse than the first." ²¹ For it were better for them not to have recognized the way of righteousness, than, recognizing it, to go back to what was behind, from the holy precept given over to them." ²² Now that in the true proverb has befallen them: "A cur turning to its own vomit,and "A bathed sow to her wallowing in the mire."

¹⁰ Then there would still be some consolation for me, And I would caper in this travail which He is not sparing, For I have not suppressed the words of the Holy One.

²² Take hold, I pray, to the law from His mouth, And place His sayings in your heart.

⁹ The fear of Yahweh is clean, standing unto the future; The judgments of Yahweh are truth; they are righteous altogether:" ¹⁰ Coveted more than gold, and more than much glittering gold, And sweeter than honey and drips of the combs."

¹¹ In my heart have I stored up Your promise, That I may not sin against You."

¹⁰³ How savory are Your promises to my palate, Better than honey to my mouth!"

¹²⁷ Therefore I love Your instructions More than gold, even than glittering gold."

¹⁶ Your words have been found, and I eat them, And Your word is to me for a joy, And for the rejoicing of my heart, For Your name is called on me, O Yahweh, Elohim of Hosts."

⁴² And the Lord said, "Who, consequently, is the faithful and prudent administrator, whom the lord will be placing over his attendance, to be giving them the measure of grain in season.?

⁴⁶ the lord of that slave will be arriving on a day for which he is not hoping and at an hour which he does not know, and shall be cutting him asunder and shall be appointing his part with the unfaithful."

³² Yet He said to them, "I have food to eat of which you are not aware."

³⁴ Jesus is saying to them, "My food is that I should be doing the will of Him Who sends Me, and should be perfecting His work."

⁶⁶ At this, then, many of His disciples came away, dropping behind, and walked no longer with Him." ⁶⁷ Jesus, then, said to the twelve, "Not you also are wanting to go away!" ⁶⁸ Simon Peter answered Him, "Lord, to whom shall we come away? Declarations of life eonian hast Thou!" ⁶⁹ And we believe and know that Thou art the Holy One of God."

³¹ Jesus, then, said to the Jews who have believed Him, "If ever you should be remaining in My word, you are truly My disciples,

²² establishing the souls of the disciples, besides entreating them to remain in the faith and saying that, "Through many afflictions must we be entering into the kingdom of God."

³⁸ Now My "just one by faith shall be living,and "If he should ever be shrinking, My soul is not delighting in him." ³⁹ Yet we are not of those shrinking back to destruction, but of faith for the procuring of the soul."

² as recently born babes, long for the unadulterated milk of the word that by it you may be growing into salvation,

¹⁹ Out of us they come, but they were not of us, for if they were of us, they would have remained with us. But it was that they may be manifested that they are not all of us. "

¹⁹ El is not a man that He should lie. Nor a son of humanity that He should feel regret. Does He say it and then not do it? Or speak and then not carry it out? ²⁰ Behold, I undertake to bless; He blesses and I shall not reverse it.

¹² Behold, should He abduct, who could turn Him back? Who could say to Him, What are You doing? ¹³ Eloah, He does not reverse His anger; The helpers of Rahab prostrate before Him.

¹⁰ If He should pass on by or lock up Or assemble a court, who could turn Him back?

¹⁴ Behold, He demolishes, and it shall not be rebuilt; He locks up a man, and it shall not be opened.

²⁹ When He is quiet, who can condemn? When He conceals His face, who can regard Him? Yet He is over a nation and over humanity alike.

³ Indeed our Elohim is in the heavens; All that He desires, He does."

⁶ All that Yahweh delights He does, In the heavens and on earth, In the seas and every abyss;"

²¹ Many are the designs in a man's heart, Yet the counsel of Yahweh, it shall stand firm."

¹⁵ What is distorted cannot be set in order, And what is lacking cannot be counted."

¹⁴ I know that all the One, Elohim, is doing, It shall be for the eon; Onto it there can be nothing to add, And from it there can be nothing to subtract; The One, Elohim, He does it that they may fear before Him."

²⁴ Sworn has Yahweh of hosts, saying, "Should it not, as I likened it, so come to be, and as I counseled it, be arising? ²⁵ To break the Assyrian in My land, and on My mountains will I trample him. And he withdraws his yoke from upon them, and his burden shall he withdraw from upon their shoulder." ²⁶ This is the counsel counseled by Yahweh over the entire earth, and this is the hand stretched out over all the nations of the habitance." ²⁷ For Yahweh of hosts has counseled, and who will annul it? And His hand is outstretched, and who will reverse it?

¹⁰ Telling from the beginning, the hereafter, and from aforetime, what has not yet been done. Saying, `All My counsel shall be confirmed, and all My desire will I do.'"

³⁵ All abiding on the earth are reckoned as naught:According to His will is He doing in the army of the heavens and with those abiding on the earth. And no one will actually clap with his hands and say to Him, "What doest Thou?

¹⁹ You will be protesting to me, then, "Why, then, is He still blaming? for who has withstood His intention?
