¹ My soul is disgusted with my life; I shall give free rein to myself and my concern; Let me speak in the bitterness of my soul. ² I shall say to Eloah, O do not condemn me! Let me know for what reason You contend with me!" ³ Is it good to You that You should work harm, That You should reject the labor of Your palms, And that You shine on the counsel of the wicked? ⁴ Do You have eyes of flesh? Can You see as a mortal sees? ⁵ Are Your days like a mortal's days, Or Your years like the days of a master, ⁶ That You should seek out my depravity And should inquire into my sin, ⁷ Although Your knowledge is that I am not wicked, And there is no one rescuing from Your hand? ⁸ Your hands shaped me and made me; Yet afterward You swallow me up round about. ⁹ Remember now that You molded me like clay; Shall You then turn me back to soil? ¹⁰ Did You not pour me forth like milk And curdle me like cheese? ¹¹ You clothed me with skin and flesh, And hedged me together with bones and sinews. ¹² Life and benignity have You granted to me, And Your supervision has guarded over my spirit. ¹³ Yet these things You secluded in Your heart; I know that this was in Your mind: ¹⁴ If I sin, then You observe me, And You do not hold me innocent of my depravity. ¹⁵ If I am wicked, alack for me! Yet if I am righteous, I shall not lift up my head, Surfeited with dishonor and satiated with my humiliation. ¹⁶ And should it grow more, You hunt me like a black lion; Then You return; You send marvelous works against me. ¹⁷ You renew Your testimonies in front of me, And You increase Your vexation against me; Changes of troops come upon me. ¹⁸ Then why did You bring me forth from the womb? I would have expired, and no eye would have seen me. ¹⁹ I would have been just as if I had not come into being; I would have been fetched from the belly to the tomb. ²⁰ Are not the days of my transient lifetime few? Set away from me that I may smile a little, ²¹ Ere I go away and not return, To a country of darkness and the blackest shadow, ²² A country of such faintness as deepest gloom, Of blackest shadow without order, And which shines like deepest gloom.

¹⁵ So if thus You are doing to me, kill me, I pray, yea kill me. If I have found grace in Your eyes then do not let me see Your evil.

⁴ and he himself has gone into the wilderness a day's Journey, and comes and sits under a certain retem-tree, and desires his soul to die, and said, `Enough, now, O Yahweh, take my soul, for I [am] not better than my fathers..

²⁰ Why is He giving light to the miserable, And life to the bitter of sou. ²¹ (Who tarry for death, yet it is not coming, And they delve for it more than for buried treasures, ²² Who rejoice unto exultation, And they are elated when they find the tomb), ²³ To a master whose way is concealed When Eloah has screened him about?

¹⁵ He saves the deserted from their mouth And the needy from the hand of the unyielding. ¹⁶ Hence there comes to be expectation for the poor, And iniquity, it shuts its mouth.

²⁰ In famine, He will ransom you from death, And in battle from the hands of the sword.

² O that my vexation could be weighed, yea weighed. And they could take up my woe upon the scales together with it. ³ Because now it is heavier than the sand of the seas, Therefore my words are impetuous. ⁴ For the arrows of Him Who Suffices are in me; Their venom is what my spirit has been drinking; Frightenings from Eloah are arrayed against me.

⁸ O that He would grant that my request would come, That Eloah would grant my expectation, ⁹ That Eloah would be disposed to crush me! May He let loose His hand and clip me off!

²⁶ Are you designing to correct with declarations, Yet mean to treat as wind the words of a desperate man?

¹¹ Indeed for me, I shall not keep back my mouth; I shall speak in the distress of my spirit; I shall importune in the bitterness of my soul.

¹⁶ I reject this; I would not live for the eon; Leave off from me, for my days are vanity.

²¹ Were I flawless, I would not know my own soul; I would reject my life.

¹⁵ If I am wicked, alack for me! Yet if I am righteous, I shall not lift up my head, Surfeited with dishonor and satiated with my humiliation. ¹⁶ And should it grow more, You hunt me like a black lion; Then You return; You send marvelous works against me.

¹³ O that You would seclude me in the unseen, That You would conceal me until Your anger turns back, That You would set a statutory time for me and then remember me.

⁶ When I do speak, my pain is not being kept back, Yet when I do forbear, what pain is going away from me? ⁷ Surely, now it has made me tired; You have made all my company desolate, ⁸ And You arrest me. This has become the testimony against me, And it rises against me:That is, my emaciation answers against my face. ⁹ His anger has found a prey and assailed me; He gnashes at me with His teeth. My foe hones his eyes against me. ¹⁰ Men gape at me with their mouth; In reproach they smite my cheeks; They mass themselves together against me. ¹¹ El surrenders me over to an iniquitous man, And He precipitates me into the hands of the wicked. ¹² I was at ease, and He quashed me; He held me by the nape of my neck, And He shattered me; He set me up as His target. ¹³ His multitudes surround me; He splits open my innermost being and does not spare; He pours out my bile on the earth. ¹⁴ He breaches upon me, breach adjoining breach; He runs upon me like a master of war. ¹⁵ I sewed sackcloth over my hide, And I plowed down my horn into the soil. ¹⁶ My face is swollen out from weeping, And on my eyelids is the blackest shadow.

⁴ Yet indeed, even if I truly have erred, My error would lodge in me.

² Hearken, yea hearken to my declaration, And let this be your consolations to me. ³ Bear with me while I am speaking, And after I have spoken, you may deride. ⁴ As for me, is my concern directed to a human? And if so, for what reason should my spirit not be impatient?

³ When I kept silent toward You, my bones became worn out With my roaring the entire day." ⁴ For by day and night, Your hand was heavy upon me; My freshness was turned into the droughts of summer. {Interlude{ " ⁵ I am now acknowledging my sin to You, And I do not cover over my depravity. I said, I shall confess against myself my transgressions to Yahweh, And You, You lift away the depravity of my sin. {Interlude{ "

¹⁵ What shall I speak? What He says to me, He does to me. I shall wander all my years in the bitterness of my soul."

¹⁷ Behold! For welfare there is bitterness to me; very great bitterness. Yet You are attached to my soul, to keep it from the ruin of decay, for You do fling behind Your body all my sins."

³ And now, Yahweh, take, I pray, my soul from me, for better is my death than my life."

⁸ And it is coming as the sun rises, that Elohim is assigning a hot east wind, and the sun is smiting on the head of Jonah, and he is swooning. And he is asking for his soul to die and is saying, Better is my death than my life."

⁵ Yet if you yourself seek early for El, And to Him Who Suffices you supplicate, ⁶ If you are purged and upright, Even now He would rouse Himself over you, And He would bring peace to your righteous homestead.

²⁹ I am already being condemned; Why is this that I should be wearied in vain?

³¹ Indeed has one said to El, I have been lured away; I shall not harm any more;" ³² Until I can perceive, direct me Yourself; If I have contrived iniquity, I shall not do so again?

¹ {A Davidic Psalm{ O Yahweh, do not correct me in Your anger, And do not discipline me in Your fury. ² Be gracious to me, O Yahweh, for I am feeble; Heal me, O Yahweh, for my bones are flustered, ³ And my soul, it is flustered exceedingly. But You, O Yahweh, how long? ⁴ Do return, O Yahweh! Do extricate my soul! Save me on account of Your benignity.

⁷ Do not remember the sins of my youth and my transgressions; According to Your benignity, remember me, I pray You, On account of Your goodness, O Yahweh."

¹ {A Davidic Psalm{ {For Remembrance{ O Yahweh, do not correct me in Your wrath Or discipline me in Your fury." ² For Your arrows have settled deep in me, And Your hand is settling down on me." ³ There is no soundness in my flesh in view of Your indignation; There is no peace in my bones in view of my sin. ⁴ For my depravities, they pass over my head; Like a heavy load, they are too heavy for me." ⁵ My welts stink and putrefy In view of my folly. ⁶ I am wretched; I bow down very low. The entire day I walk in somberness. ⁷ For my hips, they are filled with searing pain, And there is no soundness in my flesh." ⁸ I give way and am utterly crushed. I roar out of the anguish of my heart.

²¹ But You, O Yahweh my Lord, deal with me on account of Your Name; Because Your benignity is good, rescue me."

²³ Search me out, O El, and know my heart; Test me, and know my disquieting thoughts." ²⁴ See if a grievous way is in me, And guide me in the way eonian. {Permanent{ "

² O do not enter into judgment with Your servant, For no living one at all can be righteous before You."

⁴⁰ Let us search and investigate our ways and return unto Yahweh; ⁴¹ Let us lift up our heart with our palms to the El in the heavens: ⁴² We have transgressed and rebelled; You have not pardoned;

¹⁶ The crown has fallen from our head; woe to us that we have sinned! ¹⁷ At this our heart is languishing; because of these things our eyes are darkened.

¹ Nothing, consequently, is now condemnation to those in Christ Jesus. Not according to flesh are they walking, but according to spirit,

³¹ For if we adjudicated ourselves, we would not be judged." ³² Yet, being judged, we are being disciplined by the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world."

²⁰ Behold, El Himself does not reject the flawless man, And He does not hold fast on the hand o.

²² It is all one. Therefore I say, Both the flawless and wicked one Will He bring to their end.

²⁴ The earth is given into the hand of the wicked; He covers the faces of its judges; If not He, indeed who is it?

¹⁵ You shall call, and I shall answer You; You shall long for the work of Your hands.

¹⁶ Behold, is not their good in their hand? (Still, the counsel of the wicked is far from me..

¹⁸ Yet He Himself had filled their houses with good; (Still the counsel of the wicked is far from me.)

⁵ For Job has said:I am just, Yet El, He has taken away my due;" ⁶ Concerning my due, should I lie? My lesion is mortal, yet I am without transgression. ⁷ What master is like Job? He drinks derision like water;

¹⁸ Who says to a king, Worthless one, And to patrons, Wicked one, ¹⁹ Who does not repute chiefs, Nor is He partial to the rich-man above the poor,For they all are the work of His hands?

⁷ He does not diminish the guard of His eyes over the righteous, But with kings on the throne He seats them permanently, And they are elevated. ⁸ But if being bound with manacles, They are seized by the cord lines of humiliation, ⁹ Then He is telling them of their deeds And their transgressions, that they are making themselves arrogantly masterful.

¹⁷ And with the adjudication of the wicked one you will be filled; Adjudication and judgment shall be upheld. ¹⁸ But beware lest one should allure you with affluence; Let not the vastness of the sheltering gift turn you aside.

² Will one contending with Him Who Suffices admonish Him? The one reproving Eloah, let him answer it.

⁸ Indeed, would you ever quash My judgment? Would you condemn Me that you might be just?

³³ For Yahweh is hearkening to the needy, And He does not despise His prisoners."

⁸ Yahweh, He shall perfect in my future; O Yahweh, Your benignity is for the eon. The works of Your hands, O do not relax. {Permanent{ "

⁸ And now, Yahweh, You are our Father. And we are the clay. You are our Former, and the doing of Your hand are we all."

¹ Righteous [are] You, O Yahweh, When I plead towards you, Only, judgments do I speak with You, Wherefore did the way of the wicked prosper? At rest have been all treacherous dealers." ² You have planted them, yea, they have taken root, They go on, yea, they have made fruit, Near [are] You in their mouth, And far off from their reins." ³ And You, O Yahweh, You have known me, You see me, and have tried my heart with You, Draw them away as sheep to slaughter, And separate them for a day of slaughter."

² He leads me and makes me walk in darkness and not light; ³ Surely against me again and again He is turning His hand all the day. ⁴ He wears out my flesh and my skin; He breaks my bones; ⁵ He builds against me and encompasses me with destitution and stress; ⁶ He makes me dwell in utter darkness like the eonian dead. ⁷ He dikes me about so that I cannot go forth; He makes my copper fetters heavy; ⁸ Even when I cry out and implore, He shuts out my prayer;" ⁹ He dikes my ways with trimmed stone; He contorts my tracks. ¹⁰ A bear lying in ambush is He to me, a lion in concealments;" ¹¹ He withdraws me from my ways and tears me apart; He makes me desolate. ¹² He positions His bow and is setting me as a target for the arrow; ¹³ He pierces my innermost being with the sons of His quiver. ¹⁴ I have become the sport of all peoples, the accompaniment of their song all the day;" ¹⁵ He surfeits me with bitter herbs; He satiates me with wormwood. ¹⁶ He is breaking up my teeth on gravel; He makes me fare on ashes; ¹⁷ My soul is cast off from peace; I am oblivious of good; ¹⁸ And I think my endurance has perished, and my hope from Yahweh."

¹⁹ So that, let those also who are suffering according to the will of God commit their souls to a faithful Creator in the doing of good."

⁷ And Yahweh said unto Samuel, `Look not unto his appearance, and unto the height of his stature, for I have rejected him; for [it is] not as man sees--for man looks at the eyes, and Yahweh looks at the heart..

³² For He is not a man like me that I should assert to Him:Let us come together for judgment.

¹⁵ And He said to them, "You are those who are justifying yourselves in the sight of men, yet God knows your hearts, for what is high among men is an abomination in the sight of God."

¹⁴ Now His head and hair are white as white wool, as snow, and His eyes as a flame of fire,

²⁶ Behold, El is so great we cannot know it, And the number of His years cannot be investigated.

² Ere the mountains were born, And You travailed with the earth and the habitance, From eon unto eon You are El." ³ You can turn a mortal back to crushed dust And say, Return, O sons of humanity." ⁴ For a thousand years are in Your eyes Like yesterday's day when it has passed, Or like a vigil in the night."

¹² Yet You, O Yahweh, You are dwelling for the eon, And Your Name for generation after generation."

²⁴ I am saying, O my El, do not take me away at the half of my days! Your years continue through generation after generations." ²⁵ Beforetime You founded the earth, And the heavens are the work of Your hands." ²⁶ They shall perish, yet You shall stand. All of them shall decay like a cloak; You shall change them like clothing, and they shall pass by." ²⁷ Yet You remain the same, And Your years shall not come to end."

¹² And, as if clothing, wilt Thou be rolling them up. As a cloak also shall they change. Yet Thou art the same, And Thy years shall not be defaulting."

⁸ Now of this one thing you are not to be oblivious, beloved, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day."

¹⁴ If I sin, then You observe me, And You do not hold me innocent of my depravity. ¹⁵ If I am wicked, alack for me! Yet if I am righteous, I shall not lift up my head, Surfeited with dishonor and satiated with my humiliation. ¹⁶ And should it grow more, You hunt me like a black lion; Then You return; You send marvelous works against me. ¹⁷ You renew Your testimonies in front of me, And You increase Your vexation against me; Changes of troops come upon me.

¹⁶ Even if You are now numbering my steps, You shall then no longer observe my sin,

¹⁵ Break the arm of the wicked and evil one; May You inquire into his wickedness until You find no more.

²¹ Would not Elohim Himself investigate this? For He is knowing the obscured secrets of the heart.

³⁴ Also in your skirts has been found the blood of innocent needy souls, Not by digging have I found them, but upon all these."

¹² It comes at that season I will search Jerusalem with lamps, and I visit evil on the mortals who are curdled on their lees, those saying in their heart, Yahweh will not do good, nor will He do evil."

²⁴ Yet Jesus Himself did not entrust Himself to them, because of His knowing all men, ²⁵ for He had no need that anyone should be testifying concerning mankind, for He knew what was in mankind."

⁵ So that, be not judging anything before the season, till the Lord should be coming, Who will also illuminate the hidden things of darkness and manifest the counsels of the hearts. And then applause will be coming to each one from God."

³⁹ See now that I, I am He, and there is no other elohim besides Me. I Myself put to death, and I keep alive; I have transfixed, and I Myself shall heal, and there is no one who could reclaim from My hand!"

¹⁰ But He knows the way with me; He tests me, and I shall go forth like gold.

¹³ Yet He is One, and who can turn Him back? What His soul has yearned for He shall do. ¹⁴ For He shall accomplish what is marked out for me, And many other plans are with Him like these.

⁶ (Let Him weigh me in the scales of justice, And let Eloah know my integrity),

¹⁴ Then what shall I do when El arises, And when He visits, what shall I reply to Him?

³⁵ (O that I had someone hearing me! Behold, here is my mark; may He Who Suffices answer me! Let a man write his indictment against me on a scroll;"

⁷ It came to pass after Yahweh had spoken these words to Job that Yahweh said to Eliphaz the Temanite:My anger is hot against you and your two associates because you did not speak concerning Me what is rightly so as My servant Job has done.

⁶ For Yahweh is knowing the way of the righteous, Yet the way of the wicked, it shall perish.

³ O Yahweh my Elohim, if I have done this, If there is iniquity in my palms,

⁸ Yahweh, He shall adjudicate the peoples; Judge me, O Yahweh, according to my righteousness, And according to my integrity, O Supreme. ⁹ O let the evil of the wicked reach an end, And may You establish the righteous one, Testing the hearts and innermost being, O righteous Elohim.

³ You have tested my heart; You have visited by night; You have refined me and find no crime in me at all; My mouth shall not trespass.

¹ {Davidic{ Judge me, O Yahweh, for I have walked in my integrity, And I have trusted in Yahweh; I shall not totter." ² Test me, O Yahweh, and try me; Do refine my innermost being and my heart." ³ For Your benignity is in front of my eyes, And I have walked in Your truth." ⁴ I have not sat with men of hypocrisy, And with dissemblers I shall not enter." ⁵ I have hated the assembly of evildoers, And with the wicked I shall not sit."

²² Now understand this, you who are forgetting Eloah, Lest I should tear you to pieces, and there be no rescuer."

¹ {A Davidic Psalm{ O Yahweh, You have investigated me and are knowing me;" ² You Yourself know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought from afar;

²¹ Do I not hate those hating You, O Yahweh, And with those rising against You, am I not disgusted? ²² With complete hatred I hate them; They have become enemies to me.

¹⁵ Actually, should you now be ready, then, as soon as you are hearing the sound of the horn, the pipe, the lyre, the sambuke, the psalteries--all sorts of music in concert--you shall fall down and worship the golden image that I made. And should you not be ready, you know that if you are not worshiping, in the same hour shall you be heaved into the midst of the glowing, flaming furnace. And who is the eloah that will deliver you from my hands?

¹⁰ And now I will expose her decadence to the eyes of her lovers, and no man shall rescue her from My hand."

²⁸ And I am giving them life eonian, and they should by no means be perishing for the eon, and no one shall be snatching them out of My hand." ²⁹ My Father, Who has given them to Me, is greater than all, and no one is able to be snatching them out of My Father's hand." ³⁰ I and the Father, We are one."

¹⁷ He is saying to him the third time, "Simon of John, are you fond of Me?Peter was sorry that He said to him the third time "Are you fond of Me?and he is saying to Him, "Lord, Thou art aware of all things! Thou knowest that I am fond of Thee.And Jesus is saying to him, "Graze My little sheep!"

¹² For our boasting is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in holiness and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom, but in the grace of God, we behaved ourselves in the world, yet more superabundantly toward you."

¹⁰ You are witnesses, and God, how benignly and justly and blamelessly we became to you who are believing,

⁶ And regretting is Yahweh Elohim that He made humanity on the earth, and grieving to His heart. ⁷ And saying is Yahweh Elohim, "Wipe will I the humanity, which I have created, off the surface of the ground, from human unto beast, and unto the moving animal, and unto the flyer of the heavens, for I regret that I have made them.

³ Is it good to You that You should work harm, That You should reject the labor of Your palms, And that You shine on the counsel of the wicked?

⁷³ Your hands, they have made me and are establishing me; Give me understanding so I may learn Your instructions."

⁷ everyone being called by My name. And for My glory I created him, I formed him. Indeed, I made him."

³ and I go down [to] the potter's house, and lo, he is doing a work on the stones, ⁴ and marred is the vessel that he is making, as clay in the hand of the potter, and he has turned and he makes it another vessel, as it was right in the eyes of the potter to make." ⁵ And there is a word of Yahweh to me, saying:" ⁶ As this potter am I not able to do to you? O house of Israel, an affirmation of Yahweh. Lo, as clay in the hand of the potter, So [are] you in My hand, O house of Israel." ⁷ The moment I speak concerning a nation, And concerning a kingdom, To pluck up and to break down, and to destroy, ⁸ And that nation has turned from its evil, Because I have spoken against it, Then I have repented of the evil that I thought to do to it." ⁹ And the moment I speak concerning a nation, And concerning a kingdom, to build, and to plant, ¹⁰ And it has done the evil thing in Mine eyes, So as not to hearken to My voice, Then I have repented of the good That I have spoken of doing to it."

⁷ And forming is Yahweh Elohim the human of soil from the ground, and He is blowing into his nostrils the breath of the living, and becoming is the human a living soul.

¹⁹ In the sweat of your face shall you eat your bread, till your return to the ground, for from it are you taken, for soil you are, and to soil are you returning.

⁷ Remember that my life is a wind; My eye shall not turn back again to see good.

¹⁴ I will call out to the grave, My father are you, To the worm, My mother and my sister.

¹⁵ My vigor is dried up like earthenware, And my tongue clings to my jaws; You bring me low to the soil of death."

⁶ Remember Your compassions, O Yahweh, And Your benignities, For they are from the eon." ⁷ Do not remember the sins of my youth and my transgressions; According to Your benignity, remember me, I pray You, On account of Your goodness, O Yahweh."

¹⁸ Meet my humiliation and my toil, And bear away all my sins."

⁴⁷ Remember how transient is my life, For what futility have You created all the sons of humanity?

³ You can turn a mortal back to crushed dust And say, Return, O sons of humanity."

⁴ Remember me, O Yahweh, in Your benevolence to Your people; Notice me in Your salvation,

⁷ And the soil returns to the earth just as it was, And the spirit, it returns to the One, Elohim, Who gave it."

⁹ Will anyone contend with his Former? The earthenware with the ceramists? Is the clay saying to its potter, `What are you making?' And your contrivance, `No hands has he'?

⁶ As this potter am I not able to do to you? O house of Israel, an affirmation of Yahweh. Lo, as clay in the hand of the potter, So [are] you in My hand, O house of Israel."

²¹ Or has not the potter the right over the clay, out of the same kneading to make one vessel, indeed, for honor, yet one for dishonor?

¹⁴ I shall acclaim You, for You are fearfully distinguished; Marvelous are Your works. You have known my soul very thoroughly;" ¹⁵ My skeleton was not suppressed from You, When I was made in concealment; I was woven together as in the nether parts of the earth." ¹⁶ Your eyes saw my embryo, And my days, all of them were written upon Your scroll; The days were formed When there was not one of them."

¹⁷ He makes his tail taut like a cedar; The sinews of his awesome thighs are intertwined. ¹⁸ His bones are tubings of copper, His ribs like bars of iron.

⁴ And He said unto me, `Prophesy concerning these bones, and you have said unto them:O dry bones, hear a word of Yahweh:" ⁵ Thus said the Lord Yahweh to these bones:Lo, I am bringing into you a spirit, and you have lived, ⁶ and I have given on you sinews, and cause flesh to come up upon you, and covered you over with skin, and given in you a spirit, and you have lived, and you have known that I [am] Yahweh.'" ⁷ And I have prophesied as I have been commanded, and there is a noise, as I am prophesying, and lo, a rushing, and draw near do the bones, bone unto its bone." ⁸ And I beheld, and lo, on them [are] sinews, and flesh has come up, and cover them does skin over above--and spirit there is none in them."

² For in this also we are groaning, longing to be dressed in our habitation which is out of heaven, ³ if so be that, being dressed also, we shall not be found naked."

¹⁶ out of Whom the entire body, being articulated together and united through every assimilation of the supply, in accord with the operation in measure of each one's part, is making for the growth of the body, for the upbuilding of itself in love."

¹⁹ Behold, pray! Your servant finds grace in Your eyes, and magnifying are You Your kindness which You do to me in preserving alive my soul. Yet I, I cannot escape to the mountain, lest evil cling to me and I die.

⁴ The spirit of El, it has made me, And the breath of Him Who Suffices, it preserves me alive.

²⁵ Therefore I am saying to you, Do not worry about you soul, what you may be eating, or what you may be drinking, nor yet about your body, what you should be putting on. Is not the soul more than nourishment, and the body than apparel?

²⁵ neither is He attended by human hands, as if requiring anything, since He Himself gives to all life and breath and all."

²⁸ for in Him we are living and moving and are, as some poets of yours also have declared, 'For of that race also are we.'"

⁹ When He is working to the left, I do not perceive Him; He goes back to the right, yet I do not see Him.

¹³ Yet He is One, and who can turn Him back? What His soul has yearned for He shall do.

⁶ For there is time and judgment for every event, Since the evil for a man is great upon him." ⁷ For no one knows what shall come, For just as it shall be, who can tell him?

⁷ Former of light and Creator of darkness, Maker of good and Creator of evil. I, Yahweh Elohim, made all of these things."

¹⁵ Surely, You, El, are concealing Yourself, the Elohim of Israel, a Saviour."

⁹ Remember the first things from the eon, for I am the El, and there is no further Elohim, and the limit is as Me." ¹⁰ Telling from the beginning, the hereafter, and from aforetime, what has not yet been done. Saying, `All My counsel shall be confirmed, and all My desire will I do.'" ¹¹ Calling from the sunrise, a bird of prey, from a land far off, the man of My counsel. Indeed, I speak! Indeed, I will bring it about! I formed. Indeed, I will do it."

³⁷ Who is this who speaks and it comes about if Yahweh does not determine it?

³³ O, the depth of the riches and the wisdom and the knowledge of God! How inscrutable are His judgments, and untraceable His ways!"

¹¹ in accord with the purpose of the eons, which He makes in Christ Jesus, our Lord;"

⁷ preserving kindness to thousands, bearing with depravity, transgression and sin, yet He is not immediately making innocent in order to make innocent, but visiting the depravity of the fathers on the sons and on the sons' sons, on the third and on the fourth generation.

³ If You should keep account of depravities, O Yah, O Yahweh, who should stand?

¹ {A Davidic Psalm{ O Yahweh, You have investigated me and are knowing me;"

⁷ Then Yahweh said: I see, yea see the humiliation of My people who are in Egypt. And I hear their crying because of the presence of their exactors; for I know their pains.

¹² Behold, should He abduct, who could turn Him back? Who could say to Him, What are You doing?

¹⁵ I, who, though I were righteous, am not answered When I am supplicating to my Judge,

²⁰ Though I were righteous my mouth would condemn me; Though I were flawless, He would declare me perverse. ²¹ Were I flawless, I would not know my own soul; I would reject my life.

⁷ Although Your knowledge is that I am not wicked, And there is no one rescuing from Your hand?

⁶ When I remember this, I am filled with panic, And shuddering takes hold of my flesh.

¹⁵ Therefore, I am flustered at His presence; When I consider I am afraid of Him.

⁷ May my enemy become like the wicked, And the one rising against me like the iniquitous.

¹⁷ The wicked shall return to the unseen, All the nations, forgetful of Elohim.

¹⁵³ See my humiliation, and liberate me, For I have not forgotten Your law."

¹¹ Alack to the wicked one; evil is his portion, for the requital of his hands is returning to him."

⁵ And saying am I, "Alack to me! For stilled am I, for a man of unclean lips am I, and amidst a people of unclean lips am I dwelling, for the King, Yahweh of hosts, my eyes have seen!"

⁵ You come upon the elated and the doer of righteousness. In Your ways are they remembering You. Behold! You are wroth when we are sinning. Against You from the eon also are we transgressing. ⁶ And we are becoming as unclean, all of us, and as an ornamented garment is all our righteousness. And we are decaying as a leaf, all of us, and our depravities, as the wind, are carrying us away."

²⁰ See O Yahweh, that distress is mine; my bowels, they are in turmoil; My heart is overturned within me, for I have rebelled, yea rebelled; Outside the sword bereaves; in the house it is like death."

¹ Remember, O Yahweh, what has happened to us; look, and see our reproach." ² Our allotment is turned over to aliens, our houses to foreigners." ³ We have become orphans without a father; our mothers are like widows. ⁴ Our own water we drink for money; our wood comes with a price. ⁵ With a yoke on our neck, we are pursued; we are weary, and there is no rest for us." ⁶ We give the hand to Egypt and Assyria in order to be satisfied with bread. ⁷ Our fathers sinned and are no more, and we ourselves are burdened with their depravities." ⁸ Slaves rule over us; there is no one to tear us off from their hand. ⁹ At the risk of our soul we bring in our bread in view of the sword of the wilderness. ¹⁰ Our skin is fervid like a stove in view of the simoons of famine. ¹¹ They humiliate women in Zion, virgins in the cities of Judah." ¹² Chiefs are hung by their hands; the face of the old is not honored. ¹³ Choice young men must bear the grinding, and youths falter under loads of wood." ¹⁴ Elders have ceased from the gateway, choice youth from their accompaniment of song." ¹⁵ The elation of our heart has ceased; our fluting is turned to mourning. ¹⁶ The crown has fallen from our head; woe to us that we have sinned! ¹⁷ At this our heart is languishing; because of these things our eyes are darkened. ¹⁸ Because of Mount Zion which is desolate, foxes prowl about it." ¹⁹ Yet You, O Yahweh, are dwelling for the eon; Your throne endures for generation after generation." ²⁰ Why are You forgetting us so permanently, forsaking us for length of days? ²¹ Restore us to Yourself, O Yahweh, and we shall return; renew our days as of long ago, ²² Unless You have rejected us yea utterly rejected, and are wrathful against us exceedingly."

¹⁸ And you shall return and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between a servant of Elohim and him who does not serve Him."

¹⁰ Thus, you also, whenever you should be doing all these things that are prescribed you, be saying that 'Useless slaves are we. What we ought to do we have done.'"

⁸ yet to those of faction and stubborn, indeed, as to the truth, yet persuaded to injustice, indignation and fury, ⁹ affliction and distress, on every human soul which is effecting evil, both of the Jew first and of the Greek,

²⁹ Should these die the common death of all humanity, and should the visitation of all humanity be visited on them, then Yahweh has not sent me. ³⁰ Yet should Yahweh create an unprecedented creation so that the ground opens wide its mouth, swallows them up with all that belongs to them, and they descend alive to the unseen, then you will know that these mortals have spurned Yahweh.

⁵⁹ then Yahweh will make your smitings and the smitings of your seed extraordinary:smitings that are great and constant, and illnesses that are bad and constant.

⁹ Doer of great deeds, of which there is no fathoming, Marvelous works of which there is no enumeration,

¹³ I compensate till the morning. As a lion, so is He breaking all my bones. From day unto night are You causing me to repay."

¹⁰ A bear lying in ambush is He to me, a lion in concealments;"

⁷ Yet I will become to them as a black lion; as a leopard on the way I will regard them. ⁸ I will encounter them as a bereaved bear, and I will tear the enclosure of their heart, and I will devour them there as a parent lion; the field life shall rend them."

⁸ The lion roars--who will not fear? My Lord Yahweh speaks--who will not prophesy?

²¹ I was full when I went out, yet empty has Yahweh caused me to return. Why call me Naomi when Yahweh has humbled me, and He Who-Suffices has done evil to me?

⁸ And You arrest me. This has become the testimony against me, And it rises against me:That is, my emaciation answers against my face.

⁶ Know indeed that Eloah Himself has overturned me, And He has entrapped me with His weir. ⁷ Behold, I am crying of wrong, And I am still not being answered; I am imploring, Yet there is no judgment. ⁸ He has diked up my path, and I cannot pass; He settles darkness over my tracks. ⁹ My glory He has stripped from me, And He takes away the crown from my head. ¹⁰ He breaks me down round about, so that I go away, And He uproots my expectation like a tree. ¹¹ He heats up His anger against me, And to Himself He reckons me as one of His foes.

¹⁰ For it did not close the doors of my mother's belly Or conceal misery from my eyes. ¹¹ Why did I not die from the womb, From the belly come forth and expire?

²⁰ Yet the eyes of the wicked shall be exhausted, And flight to safety will perish for them And their expectation become their expiring soul.

¹⁰ Yet a master shall die and be laid defeated; A human shall expire, and where is he?

¹⁰ Woe to me, my mother, For you have borne me a man of strife, And a man of contention to all the land, I have not lent on usury, Nor have they lent on usury to me--All of them are reviling me."

¹⁴ Cursed [is] the day in which I was born, The day that my mother bare me, Let it not be blessed!" ¹⁵ Cursed [is] the man who bore tidings [to] my father, saying, `Born to you has been a child--a male,' Making him very glad!" ¹⁶ Then has that man been as the cities, That Yahweh overthrew, and repented not, And he has heard a cry at morning, And a shout at time of noon." ¹⁷ Because he has not put me to death from the womb, And my mother is to me--my grave, And her womb a pregnancy eonian." ¹⁸ Why [is] this? from the womb I have come out, To see labor and sorrow, Yea, consumed in shame are my days!"

²⁴ The Son of Mankind is indeed going away, according as it is written concerning Him, yet woe to that man through whom the Son of Mankind is being given up! Ideal were it for Him if that man were not born!"

⁸ Like a slug melting away as it goes along; Like the stillborn of a woman, they will fail to perceive the sun."

⁶ My days are fleeter than a weaver's shuttle, And they shall conclude with the limit of the weaving thread. ⁷ Remember that my life is a wind; My eye shall not turn back again to see good.

¹⁶ I reject this; I would not live for the eon; Leave off from me, for my days are vanity. ¹⁷ What is a mortal that You should make a great thing of him, Or that You should set Your heart on him? ¹⁸ Or You should note him every morning, And You should test him every moment? ¹⁹ How long shall You not heed me, Or not let me relax even until I swallow my saliva? ²⁰ I have sinned, Yet what do I contrive against You, O Preserver of mankind? Why have You established me as Your target mark, That I should become a load to You? ²¹ Why do You not bear my transgression And pass over my depravity? For now I shall lie in the soil, And You would seek me early, but I will not be there.

⁹ For we are of yesterday, and we know nothing, For our days on the earth are but a shadow.

²⁵ My days are fleeter than a runner; They race away without having seen good. ²⁶ They pass on like ships of bulrush, Like the vulture that pounces down on its food.

²¹ Keep Your palm far from me, And let not the dread of You frighten me.

¹ A human, born of a woman, Is short of days and surfeited with disturbance.

⁵ Behold, You have made my days as handbreadths, And my transient lifetime is as nothing in front of You. Yea, all of humanity, standing up, is altogether a transitory breath. {Interlude{ "

¹⁵ As for mortal man, his days are like grass, Like a blossom of the field, so is he blossoming." ¹⁶ For the wind, it passes over him, and he is no more, And his place shall not recognize him any longer."

²³ and now, he has died, why [is] this--I fast? am I able to bring him back again? I am going unto him, and he does not turn back unto me..

¹⁴ for we do surely die, and [are] as water which is running down to the earth, which is not gathered, and Elohim does not accept a person, and has devised devices in that the outcast is not outcast by Him.

⁵ May darkness and the blackest shadow sully it; May a cloud tabernacle over it; May rolling fogs of the day frighten it.

¹³ For now I would lie and be quiet; I would sleep; then there would be rest for me,

⁸ The eye of Him with sight shall not regard me; Your eyes will look for me, but I will not be there. ⁹ As a cloud vanishes and goes away, So one descending to the unseen shall not ascend. ¹⁰ He shall not return any more to his house, And his place shall not recognize him again.

¹⁰ Yet a master shall die and be laid defeated; A human shall expire, and where is he? ¹¹ As waters depart from the sea, And a stream is drained and dries up, ¹² So a man lies down and shall not rise; Until the heavens fail, they shall not awake, Nor shall they rouse from their sleep. ¹³ O that You would seclude me in the unseen, That You would conceal me until Your anger turns back, That You would set a statutory time for me and then remember me. ¹⁴ If a master dies shall he live again? All the days of my enlistment I shall wait Until my relief comes.

²² For the years of small number have arrived, And I shall go on the path where I shall not return.

⁴ Even though I should walk in the ravine of blackest shadow, I shall not fear evil, For You are with me; Your club and Your staff, they are comforting me."

⁶ You have set me down in the nether crypt, In utter darkness, in shadowy depths;"

¹¹ Is Your benignity recounted in the tomb, Your faithfulness in destruction? ¹² Are Your marvelous works known in darkness, And Your righteousness in the land of oblivion?

¹¹ Said I:I shall not see the salvation of Yah. Yah is in the land of the living. And I shall not look for the salvation of Israel on the earth, I shall not look on humanity further. When I am with the dwellers of transience I leave off looking."

⁶ And have not said, Where [is] Yahweh, Who brings us up out of the land of Egypt, Who leads us in a wilderness, In a land of deserts and pits, In a dry land, and of death-shade, In a land--none has passed through it, Nor dwelt has man there?'"

²² There is no darkness and no blackest shadow To conceal there the contrivers of lawlessness.

¹⁷ Have the gates of death been revealed to you, And have you seen the gates of the shadow of death?

¹⁹ But You have crushed us as a place of monsters, And You cover us over with the shadow of death."

¹² Are Your marvelous works known in darkness, And Your righteousness in the land of oblivion?

¹⁶ Give you to Yahweh your Elohim honor, Before He does cause darkness, And before your feet stumble on dark mountains, And you have waited for light, And He has made it for death-shade, And has appointed [it] for thick darkness."

²⁶ And in all this, between us and you a great chasm has been established, so that those wanting to cross hence to you may not be able, nor yet those thence may be ferrying to us.'"
