⁵ Wherefore has this people of Jerusalem Turned back--a perpetual backsliding? They have kept hold on deceit, They have refused to turn back."

¹³ Hold fast to admonition; do not let your hold relax; Preserve her, for she is your life."

²⁰ Yet if you are refusing and rebel, by the sword shall you be devoured. For the mouth of Yahweh speaks."

¹⁰ who say to the seers, "You shall not direct us!And to the vision seers, "You shall not perceive correctives for us! Speak to us slick things, perceive trifles."

²⁰ Grazing on ashes, a trifling heart turns him aside. And he is not rescuing his soul, nor is he saying, "Is not a falsehood in my right hand?

³² Does a virgin forget her ornaments? A bride her bands? And My people have forgotten Me days without number.

¹¹ And Yahweh said unto me:`Justified herself has backsliding Israel, More than treacherous Judah." ¹² Go, and you have proclaimed these words toward the north, and have said, Turn back, O backsliding Israel, An affirmation of Yahweh! I cause not Mine anger to fall upon you, For I [am] kind, an affirmation of Yahweh, I watch not to the eon." ¹³ Only, know your iniquity, For against Yahweh your Elohim you have transgressed, And you do scatter your ways to strangers, Under every green tree, And to My voice you have not hearkened, An affirmation of Yahweh." ¹⁴ Turn back, O backsliding sons, An affirmation of Yahweh. For I have ruled over you, And taken you one of a city, and two of a family, And have brought you to Zion,

³ Yahweh, Your eyes, are they not on stedfastness? You have smitten them, and they have not grieved, You have consumed them, They have refused to receive instruction, They made their faces harder than a rock, They have refused to turn back."

²⁷ As a cage full of fowls, So their houses are full of deceit, Therefore they have been great, and are rich."

²⁴ And they have not hearkened, nor inclined their ear, And they walk in the counsels, In the stubbornness, of their evil heart, And are for backward, and not for forward." ²⁵ Even from the day when your fathers Went out of the land of Egypt till this day, I send to you all my servants the prophets, Daily rising early and sending, ²⁶ And they have not hearkened unto Me, Nor inclined their ear, and harden their neck, They have done evil above their fathers."

⁶ your dwelling [is] in the midst of deceit, Through deceit they refused to know Me, An affirmation of Yahweh."

¹⁶ For as a young cow is stubborn, so is Israel stubborn, now will Yahweh graze them as a he-lamb in a wide place."

⁷ My people are hung on backsliding from Me; though they are proclaiming Him as the Supreme, not one is exalting Him."

¹¹ Yet they are refusing to attend, and they are giving a stubborn shoulder, and their ears they make heavy against hearing,

⁴⁰ and not willing are you to come to Me that you may have life.

²¹ Yet be testing all, retaining the ideal."

⁹ whose presence is in accord with the operation of Satan, with all power and signs and false miracles" ¹⁰ and with every seduction of injustice among those who are perishing, because they do not receive the love of the truth for their salvation." ¹¹ And therefore God will be sending them an operation of deception, for them to believe the falsehood, ¹² that all may be judged who do not believe the truth, but delight in injustice."

²⁵ Beware! You should not be refusing Him Who is speaking! For if those escaped not, refusing the One apprizing on earth, much rather we, who are turning from the One from the heavens,

²⁵ Moreover, what you have, hold until that time whenever I should be arriving."
