Jeremiah 8:1 Cross References - CLV

¹ At that time, an affirmation of Yahweh, They bring the bones of the kings of Judah, And the bones of its princes, And the bones of the priests, And the bones of the prophets, And the bones of inhabitants of Jerusalem, Out of their graves,

² and he calls against the altar, by the word of Yahweh, and said, `Altar! altar! thus said Yahweh, Lo, a son is born to the house of David--Josiah his name--and he has sacrificed on you the priests of the high places who are making perfume on you, and bones of man are burnt on you..

¹⁶ And Josiah turns, and sees the graves that [are] there in the mount, and sends and takes the bones out of the graves, and burns [them] on the altar, and defiles it, according to the word of Yahweh that the man of Elohim proclaimed, who proclaimed these things.

²⁰ And he slays all the priests of the high places who [are] there by the altars, and burns the bones of man upon them, and turns back to Jerusalem.

⁴ And they break down before him the altars of the Baalim, and the images that [are] on high above them he has cut down, and the shrines, and the graven images, and the molten images, he has broken and beaten small, and strews on the surface of the graves of those sacrificing to them, ⁵ and the bones of the priests he has burnt on their altars, and cleanses Judah and Jerusalem,

³² Therefore, lo, days are coming, An affirmation of Yahweh, And it is not said any more, `The Tophet,' And `Valley of the son of Hinnom,' But `Valley of the slaughter,' And they have buried in Tophet--without place." ³³ And the carcase of this people has been for food To a fowl of the heavens, and to a beast of the earth, And there is none troubling." ³⁴ And I have caused to cease from cities of Judah, And from streets of Jerusalem, The voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, Voice of bridegroom, and voice of bride, For the land does become a desolation!"

⁵ And put the carcases of the sons of Israel before their idols, And scattered your bones round about your altars."

¹ There has been upon me a hand of Yahweh, and He takes me forth in the Spirit of Yahweh, and does place me in the midst of the valley, and it is full of bones,

¹ Thus says Yahweh, Due to three transgressions of Moab, and due to four, I will not turn it back, due to his burning the bones of the king of Edom into lime."
