¹ For Yahweh will have compassion on Jacob, and He chooses still in Israel, and He leaves them on their own ground. And the house of Israel allots them on the ground of Yahweh for servants and for maids. And they come to be captors of their captors, and they sway over their exactors." ³ And this comes to be in the day Yahweh gives you rest from your grief, and from your disturbance, and from the hard service in which you served." ⁴ And you lift up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say in that day, "How ceases the exactor! Ceases the audacious city!" ⁵ Yahweh has broken the rod of the wicked, the scepter of rulers." ⁶ Smitten are peoples in a rage, a smiting barring withdrawal. Swaying, in anger, over nations, pursuing, failing to keep back." ⁷ At rest, quiet, is the entire earth. Crash do they into jubilation." ⁸ Moreover, the firs rejoice for you, the cedars of Lebanon:"Since you lie down, the cutter is not coming up against us." ⁹ The unseen, beneath, is disturbed for you, to meet you at your coming. It rouses for you all the healers, all the he-goats of the earth. It raises from their thrones all the kings of the nations." ¹⁰ All of them are answering and saying to you, "Even you are ill as what we were! To us are you comparable!" ¹¹ Down to the unseen is brought your pomp, the throngs of your exulters. The maggot is berthing under you, and the worm is covering you." ¹² How you have fallen from the heavens! Howl, son of the dawn! You are hacked down to the earth, defeater of all nations!" ¹³ Yet you, you said in your heart, "To the heavens will I ascend! Above the stars of El will I raise high my throne, and I will sit in the mount of appointment, in the flanks of the north." ¹⁴ I will ascend on the fane heights of a thick cloud; I am likening myself to the Supreme!" ¹⁵ Yea, to the unseen shall you be brought down, to the flanks of a crypt!" ¹⁶ Those seeing you will peer at you and consider you:"Is this the man who was the disturber of the earth, the quaker of kingdoms? ¹⁷ He made all the habitance as a wilderness, and its cities he demolished, for his prisoners he opened not a homeward way." ¹⁸ All kings of nations--all of them lie in state, each man in his own house, ¹⁹ yet you were flung from your tomb as a scion abhorrent, as many who were killed, spurred with a sword, who went down to the stones of the crypt as a corpse being trampled." ²⁰ You shall not unite with them in the tomb, "For you ruined My land, you killed My people. You shall not be proclaimed for the eon, you seed of evil doers!" ²¹ Prepare a slaughter for his sons, for the depravity of their fathers. They will fail to rise and tenant the earth, and fill the surface of the habitance with cities." ²² And I rise against them,averring is Yahweh of hosts. "And I cut off from Babylon the name and remnant, and propagator and progeny,averring is Yahweh." ²³ And I make Babylon desolate, for a tenancy of the hedgehog, with watery marshes, and I mop it with the mop of extermination,averring is Yahweh of hosts." ²⁴ Sworn has Yahweh of hosts, saying, "Should it not, as I likened it, so come to be, and as I counseled it, be arising? ²⁵ To break the Assyrian in My land, and on My mountains will I trample him. And he withdraws his yoke from upon them, and his burden shall he withdraw from upon their shoulder." ²⁶ This is the counsel counseled by Yahweh over the entire earth, and this is the hand stretched out over all the nations of the habitance." ²⁷ For Yahweh of hosts has counseled, and who will annul it? And His hand is outstretched, and who will reverse it? ²⁸ LOAD OF PHILISTIA In the year of the death of King Ahaz came this load: ²⁹ You must not rejoice, Philistia, any of you, that the club of your smiter is broken, for from the root of the serpent shall come forth a yellow viper, and its fruit, the burning flying serpent, ³⁰ and graze do the firstlings of the poor, and the needy shall trustingly recline. Yet I put to death with famine, your root, and your remnant it will kill." ³¹ Howl, O gate! Cry out, O city! Dissolved is Philistia! All of you, for smoke comes from the north. And no one shall be solitary in his appointed places." ³² And what will they answer, the messengers of a nation? That Yahweh founds Zion, and in it the humble of His people will find refuge."

⁵ for the Elohim knows that, in the day you eat of it, unclosed shall be your eyes, and you become as the Elohim, knowing good and evil.

⁵ You shall not bow yourself down to them, nor be made to serve them, for I, Yahweh your Elohim, am a jealous El, visiting the depravity of the fathers on the sons, on the third and on the fourth generation, to those hating Me,

³⁹ The remainder among you shall be putrid over their depravity in the lands of your enemies, and also over the depravities of their fathers with them shall they be putrid. ⁴⁰ If they will confess their depravity and the depravity of their fathers in their offense (when they had offended Me and, indeed, when they had gone contrary to M. ⁴¹ so that I Myself also went contrary to them and brought them into the land of their enemies), if then their uncircumcised heart should submit, and if then they should accept their depravity, ⁴² then I will remember My covenant with Jacob and also My covenant with Isaac; also My covenant with Abraham shall I remember, and the land shall I remember. ⁴³ Yet the land, it shall be forsaken of them and shall accept its sabbath years while it is desolate without them, and they themselves shall accept their depravity because, yes because they had rejected My judgments and their soul had loathed My statutes. ⁴⁴ Yet in spite of this, when they are in the land of their enemies I will not reject them nor loathe them so as to finish them, to annul My covenant with them, for I, Yahweh, am their Elohim. ⁴⁵ For their benefit I will remember the covenant with the former ones whom I brought forth from the land of Egypt before the eyes of the nations to be their Elohim; I am Yahweh.

²⁹ Yet from there you will seek Yahweh your Elohim and find Him when you inquire for Him with all your heart and with all your soul. ³⁰ In your distress, when all these things find you in the latter days, then you will return to Yahweh your Elohim and hearken to His voice. ³¹ For Yahweh your Elohim is a compassionate El. He shall neither neglect you nor bring ruin on you, nor shall He forget the covenant of your fathers about which He had sworn to them.

⁴⁸ then you will serve your enemies whom Yahweh shall send forth against you, in famine and in thirst, in nakedness and in lack of everything. He will put an iron yoke on your neck until He has exterminated you.

⁶⁵ And among those nations you shall neither find respite, nor shall there be a resting place for the sole of your foot, and Yahweh will give to you there a disturbed heart, a failure of the eyes and pining of the soul. ⁶⁶ Then your lives will come to be hung in suspense in front of you. You will be afraid by night and by day, and you shall not put trust in your lives. ⁶⁷ In the morning you shall say:O that it were evening! And in the evening you shall say:O that it were morning! because of the awe of your heart with which you shall be afraid and because of the sight of your eyes which you shall see. ⁶⁸ Then Yahweh will bring you back complaining to Egypt by the way of which I said to you:You should not again see it further. There you will put yourselves up for sale to your enemies as servants and as maids, yet there will be no buyer.

³ Then Yahweh your Elohim will turn back your captivity and show compassion to you; He will return and convene you from all the peoples where Yahweh your Elohim will have scattered you. ⁴ If it comes to be that you should be expelled to the end of the heavens, from there Yahweh your Elohim shall convene you, and from there He shall take you. ⁵ Then Yahweh your Elohim will bring you to the land that your fathers tenanted; you will tenant it, and He will bring you good and let you increase more than your fathers.

And Hezekiah said, `From a land afar off they have come--from Babylon.. ¹⁵ And he said, `What saw they in your house?' and Hezekiah said, `All that [is] in my house they saw; there has not been a thing that I have not showed them among my treasures.. ¹⁶ And Isaiah said unto Hezekiah, `Hear a word of Yahweh. <sup>17</sup> Lo, days are coming, and borne has been all that [is] in your house, and that your father have treasured up till this day, to Babylon; there is not left a thing, said Yahweh;" <sup>18</sup> and of your sons who go out from you, whom you beget, they take away, and they have been eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.. <sup>19</sup> And Hezekiah said unto Isaiah, `Good [is] the word of Yahweh that you have spoken;' and he said, `Is it not--if peace and truth are in my days?.

¹³ And I have stretched out over Jerusalem the line of Samaria, and the plummet of the house of Ahab, and wiped Jerusalem as one wipes the dish--he has wiped, and has turned [it] on its face.

⁶ and said, `O Yahweh, Elohim of our fathers, are not You--Elohim in the heavens? yea, You are ruling over all kingdoms of the nations, and in Your hand [is] power and might, and there is none with You to station himself.

⁶ And he goes forth, and fights with the Philistines, and breaks down the wall of Gath, and the wall of Jabneh, and the wall of Ashdod, and builds cities about Ashdod, and among the Philistines.

⁸ And the sons of Israel take captive of their brethren, two hundred thousand, wives, sons and daughters, and also much spoil they have seized from them, and they bring in the spoil to Samaria. ⁹ And there has been there a prophet of Yahweh (Oded [is] his name), and he goes out before the host that has come in to Samaria, and said to them, `Lo, in the fury of Yahweh Elohim of your fathers against Judah, He has given them into your hand, and you slay among them in rage--unto the heavens it has come;" <sup>10</sup> and now, sons of Judah and Jerusalem you are saying to subdue for men-servants and for maid-servants to you; but are there not with you causes of guilt before Yahweh your Elohim? <sup>11</sup> and now, hear me, and send back the captives whom you have taken captive of your brethren, for the heat of the anger of Yahweh [is] upon you.. <sup>12</sup> And certain of the heads of the sons of Ephraim (Azariah son of Johanan, Berechiah son of Meshillemoth, and Jehizkiah son of Shallum, and Amasa son of Hadlai), rise up against those coming in from the host, <sup>13</sup> and say to them, `You do not bring in the captives hither, for, to guilt against Yahweh on us, you are saying to add unto our sin and unto our guilt? for abundant [is] the guilt we have, and the fierceness of anger on Israel.. ¹⁴ And the armed men leave the captives and the prey before the heads and all the assembly; ¹⁵ and the men who have been expressed by name rise and take hold on the captives, and all their naked ones they have clothed from the spoil, yea, they clothe them, and shoe them, and cause them to eat and drink, and anoint them, and lead them on asses, even every feeble one, and bring them in to Jericho, the city of palms, near their brethren, and turn back to Samaria.

¹⁸ And the Philistines have rushed against the cities of the low country, and of the south of Judah, and capture Beth-Shemesh, and Aijalon, and Gederoth, and Shocho and its villages, and Timnah and its villages, and Gimzo and its villages, and dwell there,

² Thus speaks Cyrus king of Persia:Yahweh Elohim of the heavens has given me all the kingdoms of the earth, and He Himself has committed to me to build for Him a House in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. ³ Anyone among you of all His people, may his Elohim be with him. Let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and let him rebuild the House of Yahweh Elohim of Israel. He is the One, Elohim, Who is in Jerusalem. ⁴ As for anyone that is remaining from all the places where he is sojourning, let the men of his place assist him with silver and with gold, with goods and beasts, along with the voluntary offering for the House of the One, Elohim, Who is in Jerusalem.

⁸ Yet now for a little moment, grace from Yahweh our Elohim has come to leave us as a remnant for deliverance and to give us a peg in His holy place, so that our Elohim may enlighten our eyes and give us a little revival in our servitudes. ⁹ Though we are slaves, our Elohim has not forsaken us in our servitudes; He is stretching out His benignity toward us before the kings of Persia in giving us a revival to raise up the House of our Elohim and to let its deserted places stand firm and in giving us a barrier-wall in Judah and in Jerusalem.

⁸ `Remember, I pray You, the word that You did command Moses Your servant, saying, You--you trespass--I scatter you among peoples;" ⁹ and you have turned back unto Me, and kept My commands, and done them--if your outcast is in the end of the heavens, thence I gather them, and have brought them in unto the place that I have chosen to cause My name to tabernacle there.

¹⁷ Also in every place of the different provinces and in each of the different cities to which the king's order and his edict were attaining, there was rejoicing and elation for the Jews, with feasting and a cheerful day. And many of the peoples of the country were professing themselves Jews, for awesome fear of the Jews had fallen on them.

²³ I know that You are turning me back to death, To that house appointed for all the living.

⁸ Indeed, would you ever quash My judgment? Would you condemn Me that you might be just?

¹⁰ You shall destroy their fruit from the earth And their seed from among the sons of humanity.

¹⁰ Yahweh, He annuls the intrigue of the nations; He repudiates the devices of the peoples." ¹¹ The counsel of Yahweh shall stand for the eon, The designs of His heart for generation after generation."

²⁸ For Yahweh is loving right judgment, And He shall not forsake His benign ones. The iniquitous will be exterminated for the eon, And the seed of the wicked, it will be cut off."

² Lovely of undulation, The elation of the entire earth is Mount Zion, The flanks of the north, the town of the great King."

⁶ Who are trusting in their estate And are boasting in the abundance of their riches? ⁷ Surely it shall not ransom, yea ransom a man; Neither shall one pay to Elohim his sheltering ransom, ⁸ {For the ransom of his soul is too precious a price, And he shuns it for the eon{" ⁹ That he should live further, permanently, And not see the grave." ¹⁰ Yet he sees wise ones, even they die; The stupid one, together with the irrational one, they perish, And they leave their estate to others." ¹¹ Their tombs are their houses for the eon, Their tabernacles for generation after generation, Those who had called their grounds after their names." ¹² But the human, in his self-esteem, is not understanding at all; He is comparable to the beasts that are dumb." ¹³ This is their way, their stupidity, And of those after them, who approve of their mouthings. {Interlude{ " ¹⁴ Like the flock, they are set for the unseen; Death, it shall graze on them. ⁹ And every human shall fear. Then they shall tell of Elohim's deeds And will contemplate His handiwork.

¹⁸ You ascend on high, You capture captivity, You apportion gifts among mankind, And also for the stubborn, to tabernacle with Yah Elohim."

⁶ I Myself have said:you are elohim, And sons of the Supreme are all of you." ⁷ Yet you shall die like common humanity, And like any other of the chiefs you shall fall."

⁸ Daughter of Babylon, the devastator, Happy is he who shall repay you With your dealing which you dealt to us." ⁹ Happy is he who shall hold and shatter your unweaned children Against the crag.

¹² In Your benignity may You efface my enemies; And You will destroy all the foes of my soul, For I am Your servant."

Perhaps you can benefit! Perhaps you will be staunch!"

¹² Then stand, pray, by your magic charms, and by your many enchantments, with which you were acquainted from your youth until today. Perhaps you can benefit! Come close to me and I will dwell.'" <sup>21</sup> And you say in your heart, `Who generated these for me, while I was bereaved and a widow, and deported and withdrawn? And these--who brought them up for me? Behold! I remained alone. Yet these-- whereat were they?'" ²² For thus says my Lord Yahweh, "Behold! I will lift My hand to the nations, and to the peoples will I raise My banner high. And they bring your sons in a bosom pouch, and your daughters on the shoulders shall be borne, ²³ and kings become your foster fathers, and their chiefesses your wet nurses. Nostrils to the earth, shall they prostrate to you, and the soil at your feet shall they lick up. Then you shall know that I am Yahweh, and those expecting Me shall not be ashamed."

For Yahweh is spoiling the Philistines, The remnant of the isle of Caphtor." ⁵ Come has baldness unto Gaza, Cut off has been Ashkelon, O remnant of their valley, Till when do you cut yourself? ⁶ Ho, sword of Yahweh, till when are you not quiet? Be removed unto your sheath, rest and cease." ⁷ How shall it be quiet, And Yahweh has given a charge to it, Against Ashkelon, and against the sea shore? There has He appointed it!'"

⁶² and have said:Yahweh, You, You have spoken concerning this place, to cut it off, that there is none dwelling in it, from man even unto cattle, for it is a desolation eonian." ⁶³ And it has come to pass, when you do finish reading this book, you do bind to it a stone, and have cast it into the midst of Phrat, ⁶⁴ and said, Thus sink does Babylon, and it does not arise, because of the evil that I am bringing in against it, and they have been weary.' ³⁷ Who is this who speaks and it comes about if Yahweh does not determine it?

³⁸ In every place where the sons of mortals are abiding, the animal of the field, the flyer of the heavens, and the fish of the sea, He grants into your hand. He gives you authority over them all. You are the head that is gold."

¹¹ For from the rising of the sun unto its setting, great is My name among the nations, and in every place incense is being brought close for My name, and a clean approach present. For My name is great among the nations, says Yahweh of hosts."

Amen!" ¹⁶ And the twenty-four elders who are sitting on their thrones before God fall on their faces and worship God, ¹⁷ saying, "We are thanking Thee, Lord God Almighty, Who art and Who wast, for Thou hast taken Thy great power and dost reign." ¹⁸ And the nations are angered, and Thy indignation came, and the era for the dead to be judged, and to give their wages to Thy slaves, the prophets, and to the saints and to those fearing Thy name, the small and the great, and to blight those who are blighting the earth."

Michael and his messengers battle with the dragon, and the dragon battles, and its messengers." ⁸ And they are not strong enough for him, neither was their place still found in heaven." ⁹ And the great dragon was cast out, the ancient serpent called Adversary and Satan, who is deceiving the whole inhabited earth.
