¹⁴ And David said unto Gad, `I have great distress, let us fall, I pray you, into the hand of Yahweh, for many [are] His mercies, and into the hand of man let me not fall..

⁶ Now Yahweh passed by before his face and called: Yahweh, Yahweh El, Who is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger and with much kindness and truth, ⁷ preserving kindness to thousands, bearing with depravity, transgression and sin, yet He is not immediately making innocent in order to make innocent, but visiting the depravity of the fathers on the sons and on the sons' sons, on the third and on the fourth generation.

⁶ And the men of Israel have seen that they are distressed, that the people has been oppressed, and the people hide themselves in caves, and in thickets, and in rocks, and in high places, and in pits.

¹⁵ And the servant of the man of Elohim rises early, and goes out, and lo, a force is surrounding the city, and horse and chariot, and his young man said unto him, `Alas! my lord, how do we do?.

³ and the anger of Yahweh burns against Israel, and He gives them into the hand of Hazael king of Aram, and into the hand of Ben-Hadad son of Hazael, all the days. ⁴ And Jehoahaz appeases the face of Yahweh, and Yahweh hearkens unto him, for He has seen the oppression of Israel, for oppressed them has the king of Aram, -. ⁵ and Yahweh gives to Israel a saviour, and they go out from under the hand of Aram, and the sons of Israel dwell in their tents as heretofore;" ⁶ only, they have not turned aside from the sins of the house of Jeroboam, that he caused Israel to sin, therein they walked, and also, the shrine has remained in Samaria, -. ⁷ for he left not to Jehoahaz of the people except fifty horsemen, and ten chariots, and ten thousand footmen, for the king of Aram has destroyed them, and makes them as dust for threshing.

⁵ And Yahweh his Elohim gives him into the hand of the king of Aram, and they smite him, and take captive from him a great captivity, and bring [them] in to Damascus, and also into the hand of the king of Israel he has been given, and he smites him--a great smiting. ⁶ And Pekah son of Remaliah slays in Judah a hundred and twenty thousand in one day (the whole [are] sons of valor), because of their forsaking Yahweh, Elohim of their fathers. ⁷ And Zichri, a mighty one of Ephraim, slays Maaseiah son of the king, and Azrikam leader of the house, and Elkanah second to the king. ⁸ And the sons of Israel take captive of their brethren, two hundred thousand, wives, sons and daughters, and also much spoil they have seized from them, and they bring in the spoil to Samaria. ⁹ And there has been there a prophet of Yahweh (Oded [is] his name), and he goes out before the host that has come in to Samaria, and said to them, `Lo, in the fury of Yahweh Elohim of your fathers against Judah, He has given them into your hand, and you slay among them in rage--unto the heavens it has come;"

⁵ For You, O Yahweh, are good and pardoning, And with much benignity to all calling on You."

¹⁵ Yet You, O Yahweh, are an El compassionate and gracious, Slow to anger and with much benignity and faithfulness."

⁸ Compassionate and gracious is Yahweh, Slow to anger and with much benignity." ⁹ He shall not contend permanently, And He shall not hold resentment for the eon." ¹⁰ He has neither done to us according to our sins, Nor has He requited us according to our depravities." ¹¹ For as the heavens are lofty over the earth, So is His benignity masterful over those fearing Him." ¹² As far as the east is from the west, So He removes our transgressions far from us." ¹³ As a father shows compassion over his sons, So Yahweh shows compassion over those fearing Him." ¹⁴ For He knows our formation, Remembering that we are soil."

⁴¹ He gave them into the hand of the nations So that those hating them ruled among them. ⁴² Their enemies oppressed them, And they were made to submit under their hand."

¹⁵⁶ Your compassions are many, O Yahweh; Revive me according to Your ordinances."

⁴ For with You is pardon That You may be devoutly feared.

⁹ Yahweh is good to all, And His compassions are over all His works."

¹⁰ The just man knows the soul's need of even his domestic beast, Yet even the compassions of the wicked are cruel."

⁶ I was wroth over My people, and I violated My allotment, and was giving them into your hand, yet you show them no compassion. On the old you make your yoke exceedingly heavy."

⁷ Forsake shall the wicked one his way, and the lawless man his devices, and he shall return to Yahweh, and He will have compassion on him, and to our Elohim, for he will increasingly pardon your sins."

² And he is praying to Yahweh and saying, Oh Yahweh! Was not this my word while still I came to be on my own ground? Therefore I forestalled by running away to Tharshish, for I know that You are a gracious El, and compassionate, slow to anger and of much kindness, and regretting concerning the evil."

¹⁸ Who is an El as You are, bearing with depravity, and passing over transgression, for the remnant of His allotment? He does not hold fast His anger for the future. For He delights in kindness."

¹⁵ and with great wrath am I wroth over the nations that are tranquil. When I was a little wroth, then they helped toward the evil."

²⁷ Now is My soul disturbed. And what may I be saying? 'Father, save Me out of this hour'?

²³ (Yet I am being pressed out of the two, having a yearning for the solution and to be together with Christ, for it, rather, is much better.)"
