¹³ And Gad comes in unto David, and declares to him, and said to him, `Do seven years of famine come in to you in your land? or three months are you fleeing before your adversary--and he pursuing you? or are three days' pestilence in your land? now, know and see what word I take back to Him sending me..

¹⁶ indeed, I Myself shall do this to you:I will visit panic upon you, attenuation and fever, making the eyesight vanish and causing the soul to pine; and you will sow your seed for naught, for your enemies will eat it. ¹⁷ I will set My face against you, and you will be struck down before your enemies; those hating you will hold sway over you, and you will flee even when there is no one pursuing you.

²⁰ Your vigor will be spent for naught, and your land shall not give its crop, and the tree of the field shall not give its fruit.

²⁵ I will bring the sword on you avenging the vengeance of the covenant. When you will be gathered into your cities then I will send the plague into your midst, and you will be given into the hand of the enemy.

³⁶ As for the remainder among you, I will also bring timidity into their heart in the lands of their enemies so that the sound of a leaf being whisked away will pursue them, and they will flee as if in flight from the sword; they will fall even when there is no one pursuing. ³⁷ They will stumble, a man over his brother, as though in view of the sword when there is no pursuer, and you shall come to have no standing space before your enemies.

²² Yahweh shall smite you with attenuation, with fever and inflammation, with hot heat and drought, with blasting and mildew, and they will pursue you until you perish.

²⁵ Yahweh shall make you to be struck down before your enemies. By a single road shall you go forth to them, and by seven roads shall you flee before them. So you will become an object of commotion to all the kingdoms of the earth.

²⁷ Yahweh shall smite you with the boil of Egypt, with piles, with eczema and with the itch, from which you cannot be healed.

³⁵ Yahweh shall smite you with an evil boil on both the knees and on both the legs, of which you cannot be healed, from the sole of your foot and unto your scalp.

⁵² It will lay siege against you in all your gates until your lofty and defended walls in which you will be trusting come down in all your land; and he will lay siege against you in all your gates in all your land that Yahweh your Elohim will have given to you.

¹ And there is a famine in the days of David three years, year after year, and David seeks the face of Yahweh, and Yahweh said, `For Saul and for the bloody house, because that he put to death the Gibeonites..

¹ And Elijah the Tishbite, of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, `Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, lives, before whom I have stood, there is not these years dew and rain, except according to my word.. <sup>2</sup> And the word of Yahweh is unto him, saying, <sup>3</sup> `Go from this [place]; and you have turned for you eastward, and been hidden by the brook Cherith, that [is] on the front of the Jordan, ⁴ and it has been, from the brook you do drink, and the ravens I have commanded to sustain you there.. ⁵ And he goes and does according to the word of Yahweh, yea, he goes and dwells by the brook Cherith, that [is] on the front of the Jordan, ⁶ and the ravens are bringing to him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening, and of the brook he drinks. ⁷ And it comes to pass, at the end of days, that the brook dries up, for there has been no rain in the land,

¹² either for three years--famine, or three months to be consumed from the face of your adversaries, even the sword of your enemies to overtake, or three days the sword of Yahweh, even pestilence in the land, and a messenger of Yahweh destroying in all the border of Israel; and now, see; what word do I return to Him who is sending me?.

⁶ Neither the plague that walks in gloom, Nor the sting that devastates at high noon."

¹³ `Son of man, the land--when it sins against Me to commit a trespass, and I have stretched out My hand against it, and broken for it the staff of bread, and sent into it famine, and cut off from it man and beast--"

¹⁹ `Or--pestilence I send unto that land, and I have poured out My fury against it in blood, to cut off from it man and beast--" <sup>20</sup> and Noah, Daniel, and Job, in its midst:I live--an affirmation of the Lord Yahweh--neither son nor daughter do they deliver; they, by their righteousness, deliver their own soul." <sup>21</sup> `For thus said the Lord Yahweh:Although My four sore judgments--sword, and famine, and wild beast, and pestilence--I have sent unto Jerusalem, to cut off from it man and beast,

²⁵ Now of a truth I am saying to you, that many widows were in Israel in the days of Elijah, when heaven is locked for three years and six months, as a great famine came to be over the entire land,
