³ forbidding to marry, commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who are believers and have come to know the truth.

²⁹ And God said, Behold, I have given to you every seed-bearing herb sowing seed which is upon all the earth, and every tree which has in itself the fruit of seed that is sown, to you it shall be for food. ³⁰ And to all the wild beasts of the earth, and to all the flying creatures of heaven, and to every reptile creeping on the earth, which has in itself the breath of life, even every green plant for food; and it was so.

³ And every reptile which is living shall be to you for food, I have given all things to you as the green herbs.

¹³ As soon as you shall enter into the city, so shall you find him in the city, before he goes up to the high place to eat; for the people will not eat until he comes in, for he blesses the sacrifice, and afterwards the guests eat. Now then go up, for you shall find him because of the holiday.

¹⁸ Behold, I have seen good, that it is a fine thing for a man to eat and to drink, and to see good in all his labor in which he may labor under the sun; all the number of the days of his life which God has given to him; for it is his portion.

³⁷ And he shall not regard any gods of his fathers, nor the desire of women, neither shall he regard any deity: for he shall magnify himself above all.

¹⁹ And commanding the crowds to recline on the grass, taking the five loaves of bread and the two fish, looking up to heaven, He blessed, and breaking them, He gave the loaves to the disciples; and the disciples gave to the crowds.

³⁶ And He took the seven loaves and the fish, having given thanks, He broke them, and gave them to His disciples; and the disciples gave to the crowd.

³⁰ Now it came to pass, as He was reclining to eat with them, having taken bread, He blessed and broke it, and He gave it to them.

²³ however, other boats came from Tiberias, near the place where they ate bread after the Lord had given thanks--

³¹ Then Jesus said to those Jews who had believed Him, "If you abide in My word, truly you are My disciples. ³² And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free."

¹³ And there came a voice to him, "Arise, Peter; kill and eat." ¹⁴ But Peter said, "By no means, Lord! For never did I eat anything common or unclean." ¹⁵ And a voice spoke again the second time to him, "That which God has made clean, you must not make common."

³⁵ And having said these things and having taken bread, he gave thanks to God in the presence of all, and having broken it, he began to eat.

³ Let not him who eats despise him who does not eat, and let not him who does not eat judge him who eats; for God has received him.

⁶ He that regards the day, regards it to the Lord; and he that does not regard the day, to the Lord he does not regard it. And he that eats, eats to the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he that does not eat, to the Lord he does not eat, and he gives thanks to God.

¹⁷ For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

¹³ Foods for the stomach and the stomach for foods, but God will destroy both this stomach and these foods. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.

²⁸ But even if you should marry, you have not sinned; and if a virgin should marry, she has not sinned. But such will have trouble in the flesh, and I would spare you.

³⁶ But if any man thinks he is behaving improperly toward his virgin, if she is past her prime, and thus it must be, let him do what he desires. He does not sin; let them marry. ³⁷ But he who stands in his heart, not having necessity, but has power over his own desire, and has decided this in his heart that he will keep his virgin, does well. ³⁸ So then he who gives her in marriage does well, but he who does not give her in marriage does better. ³⁹ A wife has been bound by law as long as her husband lives; but if her husband also dies, she is free to be married to whom she desires, only in the Lord.

⁸ But food does not commend us to God; for neither if we eat do we have more, nor if we do not eat do we lack.

³⁰ But if I partake with thanks, why am I defamed for that of which I give thanks? ³¹ Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all things for the glory of God.

¹⁶ Therefore do not let anyone judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or of a new moon or of sabbaths,

²⁰ If you died with Christ from the basic principles of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you submit to regulations-- ²¹ "Do not handle, nor taste, nor touch," ²² which things are all for corruption with the using, according to the commands and teaching of men? ²³ These things indeed have a reputation of wisdom in self-imposed religion, false humility, and severity on the body, but are not of any value against the indulgence of the flesh.

¹⁷ And whatever you may do in word or deed, do all things in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

¹³ But we are obligated to give thanks to God always for you, brothers beloved by the Lord, because God chose you from the beginning for salvation, through sanctification of the Spirit and belief in the truth, ¹⁴ to which He called you through our gospel, for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

⁴ who desires all men to be saved and to come to the full knowledge of the truth.

⁴ Because every creature of God is good, and not one is to be rejected, being received with thanksgiving,

⁴ Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge.

⁹ Do not be carried away with various and strange doctrines. For it is good for the heart to be established by grace, not by foods, by which those having walked were not profited.
