⁸ And their body will be upon the street of the great city, which is called spiritually Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified.

¹⁵ Truly I say to you, on the day of judgment, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and of Gomorrah than for that city.

³³ But it behooves Me to proceed today and tomorrow and the following day. ⁶ and then having fallen away—to restore them again to repentance, crucifying in themselves the Son of God and subjecting Him to open shame.

¹² Therefore Jesus also suffered outside the gate, so that he might sanctify the people by the own blood.

⁶ and He condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to destruction, having reduced them to ashes, having set an example of what is coming on the ungodly;

⁷ just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities around them, having indulged in sexual immorality and having gone after strange flesh, in like manner with them are set forth as an example, undergoing the penalty of eternal fire.

⁹ And those of the peoples and tribes and tongues and nations gaze upon their bodies three and a half days, and they will not allow their bodies to be put into a tomb.

¹³ And in that hour there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell, and seven thousand names of men were killed in the earthquake. And the rest became terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven.

⁸ And another, a second angel, followed, saying, “Fallen, Fallen is Babylon the great, who has given all the Gentiles to drink of the wine of the passion of her immorality.”

¹⁹ and the great city was split into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell, and Babylon the great was remembered before God, to give her the cup of the wine of the fury of His wrath.

¹ And one of the seven angels having the seven bowls came and spoke with me, saying, “Come here, I will show you the punishment of the great prostitute, the one sitting upon many waters,

⁵ And upon her forehead a name was written, a mystery: Babylon the Great, the mother of the prostitutes, and of the abominations of the earth.

² And he cried out in a mighty voice, saying: “Fallen, Fallen is Babylon the great! And she has become a habitation of demons, and a prison of every unclean spirit, and a prison of every unclean bird, and a prison of every unclean creature also having been hated.

¹⁰ standing from afar because of the fear of her torment, saying: “Woe, woe, the great city, Babylon, the strong city! For in one hour your judgment has come.”

¹⁸ and were crying out, seeing the smoke of her burning, saying, ‘What is like the great city?’

²¹ And one mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone and cast it into the sea, saying: “Thus Babylon will be cast down with violence, the great city, and shall never be found any longer.

²⁴ And in her was found the blood of prophets and of saints and of all those having been slain on the earth.
