¹ And again He began to teach beside the sea. And a great crowd was gathered together to Him, so that He, having entered into a boat, sat in the sea, and all the crowd was on the land, close to the sea. ² And He began teaching them many things in parables, and in His teaching He was saying to them, ³ “Listen! Behold, the one sowing went out to sow. ⁴ And it came to pass as he sowed, some fell along the road, and the birds came and devoured it. ⁵ And other fell upon the rocky place where it had not much soil, and it sprang up immediately, because of not having depth of soil. ⁶ And after the sun rose, it was scorched, and because of not having root, it withered away. ⁷ And other fell among the thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it, and it yielded no fruit. ⁸ And other fell into the good soil and began yielding fruit, growing up and increasing, and one bearing thirtyfold, and one sixty, and one a hundred.” ⁹ And He was saying, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear.” ¹⁰ And when He was alone, those around Him with the Twelve began asking Him about the parable. ¹¹ And He was saying to them, “To you has been given the mystery of the kingdom of God, but to those who are outside, everything is done in parables, ¹² so that, ‘Seeing, they might see and not perceive; and hearing, they might hear and not understand; lest ever they should turn, and they should be forgiven.’” ¹³ And He says to them, “Do you not understand this parable? Then how will you understand all the parables? ¹⁴ The one sowing sows the word. ¹⁵ And these are those along the road, where the word is sown; and when they hear, immediately Satan comes and takes away the word having been sown in them. ¹⁶ And these are likewise those sown upon the rocky places, who when they hear the word, immediately receive it with joy, ¹⁷ and they have no root in themselves, but are temporary. Then tribulation or persecution having arisen on account of the word, immediately they fall away. ¹⁸ And these are those sown among the thorns. These are those having heard the word, ¹⁹ and the cares of this age and the deceit of riches, and the desires of the other things entering in, choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. ²⁰ And these are those having been sown upon the good soil, such as hear the word and receive it, and bring forth fruit: one thirtyfold, and one sixty, and one a hundred.” ²¹ And He was saying to them, “The lamp is not brought in so that it might be put under the basket, or under the bed. Is it not that it might be put upon the lampstand? ²² For there is nothing which is hidden except that it should be made manifest; nor has taken place a secret thing, but that it should come to light. ²³ If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.” ²⁴ And He was saying to them, “Take heed what you hear. With what measure you measure it will be measured to you, and more will be added to you. ²⁵ For whoever may have, it will be given to him; and he who does not have, even that which he has will be taken away from him.” ²⁶ And He was saying, “The kingdom of God is thus, as a man should cast the seed upon the earth, ²⁷ and should sleep and rise night and day, and the seed should sprout and grow—he not knows how. ²⁸ Of itself, the earth brings forth fruit—first a plant, then an ear, then full grain in the ear. ²⁹ And when the fruit offers itself, he sends the sickle immediately, for the harvest has come.” ³⁰ And He was saying, “To what shall we liken the kingdom of God? Or with what parable shall we present it? ³¹ As a grain of mustard, which, when it has been sown upon the earth, is smallest of all the seeds that are upon the earth, ³² and when it has been sown, it grows up, and becomes greater than all the garden plants, and produces great branches, so that the birds of the air are able to encamp under its shadow.” ³³ And with many such parables He kept speaking the word to them, as they were able to hear, ³⁴ and He would not speak to them without parables; but privately He would explain all things to His own disciples. ³⁵ And on that day, evening having come, He says to them, “Let us pass over to the other side.” ³⁶ And having dismissed the crowd, they take Him with them since He was in the boat; and other boats were with Him. ³⁷ And a violent storm of wind comes, and the waves were breaking over the boat, so that the boat already is being filled up. ³⁸ And He was in the stern, sleeping on the cushion. And they awaken Him and say to Him, “Teacher, is it no concern to You that we perish?” ³⁹ And having been awoken, He rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Silence, be still!” And the wind abated, and there was a great calm. ⁴⁰ And He said to them, “Why are you fearful? Have you still no faith?” ⁴¹ And they feared with great fear and were saying to each other, “Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey Him?”

And whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him. ¹³ Because of this I speak to them in parables: ‘Because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand.’ ¹⁴ And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah, saying: ‘In hearing you will hear and never understand; and in seeing you will see and never perceive. ¹⁵ For the heart of this people has grown dull, and they barely hear with the ears, and they have closed their eyes, lest ever they should see with the eyes, and they should hear with the ears, and they should understand with the heart, and should turn, and I will heal them.’

¹³ And He went forth again beside the sea, and all the crowd was coming to Him, and He taught them.

⁷ And Jesus withdrew with His disciples to the sea, and a great multitude from Galilee followed, and from Judea,

¹ And it came to pass, in the crowd pressing on Him also to hear the word of God, and He was standing by the lake of Gennesaret, ² and He saw two boats lying by the lake, but the fishermen, having gone out from them, were washing the nets. ³ And having entered into one of the boats which was Simon’s, He asked him to put off a little from the land. And having sat down, He was teaching the crowds from the boat.

⁴ And as a great crowd is assembling, and those from each town are coming to Him, He spoke by a parable: ⁵ “The one sowing went out to sow his seed. And in his sowing, some indeed fell along the road, and it was trampled upon, and the birds of the air devoured it. ⁶ And other fell upon the rock, and having sprung up it withered through having no moisture. ⁷ And other fell in the midst of the thorns, and the thorns having sprung up with it, choked it. ⁸ And other fell upon the good soil, and having sprung up, it produced fruit—a hundredfold.” Saying these things, He was calling out, “The one having ears to hear, let him hear.” ⁹ And His disciples were asking Him, “What does this parable mean?” ¹⁰ And He said, “To you it has been given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to the rest, it is in parables, so that, ‘Seeing, they may not see; and hearing, they may not understand.’

²⁸ And it came to pass, when Jesus had finished these words, the crowds were astonished at His teaching.

³ And He spoke to them many things in parables, saying, “Behold, the one sowing went out to sow.

¹⁰ And the disciples having approached, said to Him, “Why do You speak to them in parables?”

³⁴ Jesus spoke all these things to the crowds in parables, and He was not speaking to them without a parable, ³⁵ so that it might be fulfilled that having been spoken by the prophet, saying: “I will open My mouth in parables; I will utter things hidden from the foundation of the world.”

²³ And having called them to Him, He began speaking to them in parables: “How is Satan able to cast out Satan?

¹¹ And He was saying to them, “To you has been given the mystery of the kingdom of God, but to those who are outside, everything is done in parables,

³³ And with many such parables He kept speaking the word to them, as they were able to hear, ³⁴ and He would not speak to them without parables; but privately He would explain all things to His own disciples.

³⁸ And in His teaching He was saying, “Beware of the scribes, desiring to walk about in robes, and greetings in the marketplaces,

¹⁶ Therefore Jesus answered them and said, “My teaching is not of Myself, but of the One having sent Me. ¹⁷ If anyone desires to do His will, he will know concerning the teaching, whether it is from God, or I speak from Myself.

¹⁹ Then the high priest questioned Jesus concerning His disciples and concerning His teaching.

²⁴ He put before them another parable, saying, “The kingdom of the heavens has become like a man having sown good seed in his field.

²⁶ And when the plants sprouted and produced fruit, then the weeds also appeared.

⁹ And He was saying, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”

¹⁴ The one sowing sows the word.

²³ If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.”

²⁶ And He was saying, “The kingdom of God is thus, as a man should cast the seed upon the earth, ²⁷ and should sleep and rise night and day, and the seed should sprout and grow—he not knows how. ²⁸ Of itself, the earth brings forth fruit—first a plant, then an ear, then full grain in the ear. ²⁹ And when the fruit offers itself, he sends the sickle immediately, for the harvest has come.”

¹⁴ And having summoned the crowd again, He was saying to them, “Listen to Me, all, and understand: ¹⁵ There is nothing from outside the man entering into him which is able to defile him; but the things proceeding out of the man are the things defiling the man.”

⁵ “The one sowing went out to sow his seed. And in his sowing, some indeed fell along the road, and it was trampled upon, and the birds of the air devoured it. ⁶ And other fell upon the rock, and having sprung up it withered through having no moisture. ⁷ And other fell in the midst of the thorns, and the thorns having sprung up with it, choked it. ⁸ And other fell upon the good soil, and having sprung up, it produced fruit—a hundredfold.” Saying these things, He was calling out, “The one having ears to hear, let him hear.”

³⁵ Do you not say that it is yet four months and the harvest comes? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and see the fields, because they are already white toward harvest! ³⁶ The one reaping receives a reward and gathers fruit unto eternal life, so that the one sowing and the one reaping may rejoice together. ³⁷ For in this, the saying is true, that is, ‘One is sowing, and another is reaping.’ ³⁸ I sent you to reap what you have not toiled for; others have toiled, and you have entered into their labor.”

¹⁴ But Peter, having stood up with the eleven, lifted up his voice and spoke forth to them: “Men of Judea and all those inhabiting Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and give heed to my words.

⁶ I planted, Apollos watered, but God kept it growing. ⁷ So neither the one planting nor the one watering is anything, but only God, the One giving growth. ⁸ Now the one planting and the one watering are one, and each will receive the own reward, according to the own labor. ⁹ For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, God’s building.

¹ Because of this, it behooves us to give heed more abundantly to the things we have heard, lest ever we should drift away. ² For if the word having been spoken by angels was unalterable, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense, ³ how shall we escape, having neglected such a great salvation, which, having received a commencement declared by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those having heard,

⁵ Listen, my beloved brothers: Has not God chosen the poor in this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom that He promised to those loving Him?

⁷ The one having an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one overcoming, I will give to him to eat of the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.

¹¹ The one having an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. The one overcoming shall not be injured by the second death.

¹⁹ Everyone hearing the word of the kingdom and not understanding, the evil one comes and snatches away that having been sown in his heart. This is the one having been sown on the path.

¹⁵ And these are those along the road, where the word is sown; and when they hear, immediately Satan comes and takes away the word having been sown in them.

¹³ And those upon the rock are those who receive the word with joy when they hear; and these have no root, who believe for a time, and in time of testing fall away.

¹⁷ for Christ to dwell in your hearts through faith, being rooted and being founded in love,

⁷ having been rooted and being built up in Him, and being strengthened in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding with thanksgiving.

¹⁰ and in every deception of wickedness unto those perishing, in return for which they did not receive the love of the truth in order for them to be saved.

¹¹ For the sun has risen with its burning heat and withered the grass, and its flower has fallen, and the beauty of its appearance has perished. Thus also the rich man will fade away in the midst of his pursuits. ¹² These are the hidden reefs, feasting together with you fearlessly in your love feasts; shepherding themselves; clouds without water, being carried about by winds; autumnal trees without fruit, twice having died, having been uprooted;

¹⁶ they will not hunger any more, neither will they thirst anymore, nor shall the sun at all fall upon them, nor any scorching heat;

⁷ And other fell upon the thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked them.

²² And the one having been sown among the thorns, this is the one hearing the word, but the care of this present age and the deceit of riches choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.

¹⁸ And these are those sown among the thorns. These are those having heard the word, ¹⁹ and the cares of this age and the deceit of riches, and the desires of the other things entering in, choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.

⁷ And other fell in the midst of the thorns, and the thorns having sprung up with it, choked it.

¹⁴ And that having fallen into the thorns, these are those having heard, and moving along are choked under the cares and riches and pleasures of life, and do not mature.

¹⁵ And He said to them, “Beware, and keep yourselves from all covetousness; for not to anyone is his life in the abundance of that which he possesses.”

³⁴ And take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts ever be burdened with dissipation and drunkenness and the cares of life—and that day would come upon you suddenly as a snare.

⁹ But those desiring to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and many foolish and harmful desires, which plunge men into ruin and destruction. ¹⁰ For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils, which some, stretching after, have been seduced away from the faith and have pierced themselves with many sorrows.

¹⁵ Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone should love the world, the love of the Father is not in him, ¹⁶ because all that is in the world, the desire of the flesh and the desire of the eyes and the vaunting of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world.

⁸ And other fell upon the good soil and were yielding fruit—indeed some a hundredfold, and some sixty, and some thirty.

²³ But the one having been sown on the good soil, this is the one hearing the word and understanding, who indeed brings forth fruit and produces—indeed, some a hundredfold, and some sixty, and some thirty.”

²⁰ And these are those having been sown upon the good soil, such as hear the word and receive it, and bring forth fruit: one thirtyfold, and one sixty, and one a hundred.”

⁸ And other fell upon the good soil, and having sprung up, it produced fruit—a hundredfold.” Saying these things, He was calling out, “The one having ears to hear, let him hear.”

¹⁵ And that in the good soil, these are those who, having heard the word, keep it in a worthy and good heart and bring forth fruit by perseverance.

¹² But as many as received Him, He gave to them authority to be children of God—to those believing in His name, ¹³ who were born not of blood, nor of will of flesh, nor of will of man, but of God.

¹⁹ And this is the judgement, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light; for their deeds were evil. ²⁰ For everyone practicing evil hates the Light and does not come to the Light, so that his works may not be exposed; ²¹ but the one practicing the truth comes to the Light, that his works may be manifest as having been done in God.”

¹⁷ If anyone desires to do His will, he will know concerning the teaching, whether it is from God, or I speak from Myself.

⁵ I am the vine; you are the branches. The one abiding in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit. For apart from Me you are able to do nothing.

¹¹ Now these, who were more noble than those in Thessalonica, received the word with all readiness, on every day examining the Scriptures, whether these things were so.

¹¹ being filled with the fruit of righteousness that is through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

⁶ the one being present unto you, just as also in all the world it is bearing fruit and increasing, just as also among you from the day you heard and knew the grace of God in truth,

¹ Therefore, of the promise to enter into His rest left remaining, we should fear, lest ever any of you should seem to have fallen short. ² And indeed we are those having had the gospel preached just as they did; but the message of their hearing did not profit them, not having been united with the faith of those having heard.

¹⁹ Know this, my beloved brothers. But let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow unto anger; ²⁰ for man’s anger does not produce the righteousness of God. ²¹ Therefore, having put aside all filthiness and abounding of wickedness, receive in humility the implanted word, being able to save your souls. ²² But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves,

¹ Therefore having put aside all malice, and all deceit, and hypocrisy, and envies, and all evil speakings, ² like newborn babies, crave pure reasonable milk, so that by it you may grow up in respect to salvation, ³ if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good.

³⁶ Then having dismissed the crowds, He went into the house. And His disciples came to Him, saying, “Explain to us the parable of the weeds of the field.”

³⁴ and He would not speak to them without parables; but privately He would explain all things to His own disciples.

¹⁷ And when He went into the house from the crowd, His disciples were asking Him the parable.

⁹ And His disciples were asking Him, “What does this parable mean?” ¹⁰ And He said, “To you it has been given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to the rest, it is in parables, so that, ‘Seeing, they may not see; and hearing, they may not understand.’ ¹¹ And the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. ¹² And those along the road are those having heard; then the devil comes and takes away the word from their heart, lest having believed, they should be saved. ¹³ And those upon the rock are those who receive the word with joy when they hear; and these have no root, who believe for a time, and in time of testing fall away. ¹⁴ And that having fallen into the thorns, these are those having heard, and moving along are choked under the cares and riches and pleasures of life, and do not mature. ¹⁵ And that in the good soil, these are those who, having heard the word, keep it in a worthy and good heart and bring forth fruit by perseverance.

²⁵ At that time, Jesus answering said, “I fully consent to You, Father, Lord of the heaven and the earth, that You did hide these things from the wise and learned, and did reveal them to little children.

¹¹ And answering He said to them, “Because it has been granted to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of the heavens, but to them it has not been granted. ¹² For whoever has, to him will be given, and he will be in abundance. ¹⁶ But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear.

¹⁷ And Jesus answering, said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Barjona! For flesh and blood did not reveal it to you, but My Father in the heavens.

¹⁰ And He said, “To you it has been given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to the rest, it is in parables, so that, ‘Seeing, they may not see; and hearing, they may not understand.’

²¹ In the same hour, He rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said, “I fully consent to You, Father, Lord of the heaven and of the earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent, and have revealed them to little children; yes, Father, for thus was it well-pleasing before You. ²² All things have been delivered to Me by My Father. And no one knows who the Son is, except the Father; and who the Father is, except the Son, and those to whom the Son might resolve to reveal Him.” ²³ And having turned to the disciples, He said in private, “Blessed are the eyes seeing what you see! ²⁴ For I say to you that many prophets and kings desired to see what you see, and did not see; and to hear what you hear, and did not hear.”

⁷ For who makes you any different? And what do you have that you did not receive? And if also you did receive it, why do you boast as not having received it?

¹² For what is it to me to judge those outside? Do you not judge those within? ¹³ But God will judge those outside. “Expel the evil out from among yourselves.”

⁶ For it is God, having said, “Light shall shine out of darkness,” who shone in our hearts for the radiance of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

⁹ having made known to us the mystery of His will according to His pleasure, which He purposed in Him

⁴ But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, ⁵ made us alive with Christ even we being dead in trespasses—by grace you are saved— ⁶ and He raised us up together and seated us together in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, ⁷ in order that in the coming ages He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. ⁸ For by grace you are saved through faith, and this not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, ⁹ not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. ¹⁰ For we are His workmanship, having been created in Christ Jesus for good works which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

⁵ Walk in wisdom toward those outside, redeeming the time.

¹² so that you may walk properly toward those outside, and may have need of no one.

⁷ And it behooves him also to have a good testimony from those outside, so that he might not fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.

³ For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, being deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another. ⁴ But when the kindness and the love of mankind of God our Savior appeared, ⁵ He saved us, not by works in righteousness that we did, but according to His mercy, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, ⁶ whom He poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, ⁷ so that, having been justified by that grace, we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

¹⁶ Do not be misled, my beloved brothers. ¹⁷ Every good act of giving and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of shifting. ¹⁸ Having willed it, He brought us forth by the word of truth, for us to be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures.

²⁰ Now we know that the Son of God is come and has given us understanding, so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.

³⁷ Although so many of His signs had been done before them, they did not believe in Him, ³⁸ so that word of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, that said: “Lord, who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?” ³⁹ Because of this, they were not able to believe, for again Isaiah said: ⁴⁰ “He has blinded their eyes, and has hardened their heart, that they should not see with the eyes, and understand with the heart, and turn, and I will heal them.” ⁴¹ Isaiah said these things because he saw His glory and spoke concerning Him.

¹⁹ Repent, therefore, and turn again, for the blotting out of your sins,

²⁵ And being discordant with one another they began to leave, Paul having spoken one word: “The Holy Spirit spoke rightly by the prophet Isaiah to your fathers, ²⁶ saying: ‘Go to this people and say, “In hearing you will hear and never understand; and in seeing you will see and never perceive.” ²⁷ For the heart of this people has grown dull, and with the ears they barely hear, and they have closed their eyes, lest ever they should see with the eyes, and they should hear with the ears, and they should understand with the heart, and should turn, and I will heal them.’

⁸ as it has been written: “God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes not to see, and ears not to hear, unto this very day.” ⁹ And David says: “Let their table be for a snare and for a trap, and for a stumbling block and for a retribution to them. ¹⁰ Let their eyes be darkened not to see, and their backs bent over forever.”

²⁵ in gentleness disciplining those opposing, lest ever God may give them repentance unto a knowledge of the truth,

⁶ and then having fallen away—to restore them again to repentance, crucifying in themselves the Son of God and subjecting Him to open shame.

¹⁸ You, therefore, hear the parable of the one having sown: ¹⁹ Everyone hearing the word of the kingdom and not understanding, the evil one comes and snatches away that having been sown in his heart. This is the one having been sown on the path. ²⁰ And the one having been sown upon the rocky places, this is the one hearing the word and immediately receiving it with joy. ²¹ And he has in himself no root, but is temporary. And having come tribulation or persecution on account of the word, immediately he falls away. ²² And the one having been sown among the thorns, this is the one hearing the word, but the care of this present age and the deceit of riches choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. ²³ But the one having been sown on the good soil, this is the one hearing the word and understanding, who indeed brings forth fruit and produces—indeed, some a hundredfold, and some sixty, and some thirty.”

⁵¹ Have you understood all these things?” “Yes,” they say to Him. ⁵² And He said to them, “Because of this, every scribe having been discipled into the kingdom of the heavens is like a man, a master of a house, who puts forth out of his treasure new and old.”

¹⁵ And Peter answering said to Him, “Explain this parable to us.” ¹⁶ And He said, “Are you also still without understanding? ¹⁷ Do you not yet understand that everything entering into the mouth goes into the stomach, and is cast out into the sewer?

⁸ But having known this, Jesus said, “Why do you reason among yourselves, you of little faith, because you did not take bread? ⁹ Do you not yet understand, nor remember the five loaves for the five thousand, and how many hand-baskets you gathered?

¹⁷ And when He went into the house from the crowd, His disciples were asking Him the parable. ¹⁸ And He says to them, “Thus are you also without understanding? Do you not understand that everything entering into the man from outside is not able to defile him,

²⁵ And He said to them, “O foolish and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken.

¹ And I, brothers, was not able to speak to you as to spiritual, but as fleshly—as to infants in Christ. ² I gave you milk to drink, not solid food, for not yet were you able. In fact, now you are still not able,

¹¹ Concerning this there is much speech from us, and difficult in interpretation to speak, since you have become sluggish in the hearings. ¹² For even by the time you ought to be teachers, you have need of one to teach you again what is the beginning of the principles of the oracles of God; and you have become those having need of milk, and not of solid food. ¹³ For everyone partaking of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is an infant. ¹⁴ But solid food is for the mature, the ones by constant use having trained the senses for distinguishing both good and evil.

¹⁹ As many as I might love, I rebuke and discipline; therefore be zealous and repent.

³⁷ And answering He said, “The One sowing the good seed is the Son of Man;

² And many were gathered together, so as to have no more space, not even at the door. And He was speaking the word to them.

² just as those from the beginning having been eyewitnesses and servants of the word delivered them to us,

¹¹ And the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.

⁴ Therefore indeed those having been scattered went about preaching the word.

⁵ because of the hope being laid up for you in the heavens, which you heard of before in the word of truth, the gospel, ⁶ the one being present unto you, just as also in all the world it is bearing fruit and increasing, just as also among you from the day you heard and knew the grace of God in truth,

²³ having been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, by the living and abiding word of God, ²⁴ because, “All flesh is like grass, and all the glory of it like the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower falls away, ²⁵ but the word of the Lord abides to the age.” And this is the word having been proclaimed to you.

¹⁰ Then Jesus says to him, “Get you away, Satan! For it has been written: ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him alone shall you serve.’”

⁵ And having paid no attention they went away, one to the own field, and one to his business.

⁴ And it came to pass as he sowed, some fell along the road, and the birds came and devoured it.

¹⁸ And all with one voice began to excuse themselves. The first said to him, ‘I have bought a field, and I have need, going out, to see it. I beg of you, hold me excused.’ ¹⁹ And another said, ‘I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I am going to prove them. I beg of you, hold me excused.’

³ But Peter said, “Ananias, because of why has Satan filled your heart for you to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back from the proceeds of the land?

¹⁸ And also some of the Epicureans and Stoics, philosophers, encountered him, and some were saying, “What may this babbler desire to say?” but others, “He seems to be a proclaimer of foreign gods,” because he was proclaiming the gospel of Jesus and the resurrection. ¹⁹ And having taken hold of him they brought him to the Areopagus, saying, “Are we able to know what is this new teaching which is spoken by you. ²⁰ For you are bringing some strange things to our ears. We resolve therefore to know what these things wish to be.”

³² Now having heard of a resurrection of the dead, some indeed began to mock him, but some said, “We will hear you concerning this again also.”

¹⁴ Now Paul being about to open the mouth, Gallio said to the Jews, “If indeed it was some unrighteousness or wicked crime, O Jews, according to reason I would have endured with you. ¹⁵ But if it is a question about a word, and names, and in reference to your law, you will see to it yourselves. I resolve not to be a judge of these things.” ¹⁶ And he drove them from the judgment seat. ¹⁷ Then all of them, having seized Sosthenes the ruler of the synagogue, began to beat him before the judgment seat. And it mattered nothing to Gallio about these things.

¹⁹ But they had certain questions against him concerning their own religion and concerning a certain Jesus having been dead, whom Paul was affirming to be alive. ²⁰ Now I, being perplexed concerning this inquiry, was asking if he was willing to go to Jerusalem and there to be judged concerning these things.

³¹ and having withdrawn, they began speaking to one another, saying, “This man is doing nothing worthy of death or of chains.” ³² Then Agrippa was saying to Festus, “This man could have been released if he had not appealed to Caesar.”

¹¹ so that we should not be outwitted by Satan; for we are not ignorant of his schemes.

³ But if indeed our gospel is concealed, it is concealed to those who are perishing, ⁴ in whom the god of this age has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, so as for not to beam forth the illumination of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

⁹ whose coming is according to the working of Satan, in every power, and in signs, and in wonders of falsehood,

¹ Because of this, it behooves us to give heed more abundantly to the things we have heard, lest ever we should drift away.

¹⁶ lest there be any fornicator or profane person, as Esau, who for one meal sold his birthright.

⁸ Be sober-minded; watch. Your adversary the devil prowls about as a roaring lion seeking whom to devour,

⁹ And the great dragon was thrown out, the ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, deceiving the whole inhabited world. He was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.

² And he seized the dragon, the ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years. ³ And he cast him into the Abyss, and shut and sealed it over him, so that he should not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were completed. After these things it is necessary for him to be released for a little time.

⁷ And when the thousand years shall have been completed, Satan will be released out of his prison,

¹⁰ And the devil, the one deceiving them, was cast into the lake of fire and of sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet also are; and they will be tormented day and night to the ages of the ages.

¹⁹ And one scribe, having approached Him, said “Teacher, I will follow You wherever that You should go.” ²⁰ And Jesus says to him, “Foxes have holes, and the birds of the air nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere He might lay the head.”

²⁰ And the one having been sown upon the rocky places, this is the one hearing the word and immediately receiving it with joy. ²¹ And he has in himself no root, but is temporary. And having come tribulation or persecution on account of the word, immediately he falls away.

²⁰ For Herod was afraid of John, knowing him a righteous and holy man; and he kept him safe. And having heard him, he was greatly perplexed, and heard him gladly.

¹⁷ And going forth on His journey, one having run up and having knelt down to Him, was asking Him, “Good Teacher, what shall I do that I might inherit eternal life?” ¹⁸ And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good, except God alone. ¹⁹ You know the commandments: ‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not bear false witness, you shall not defraud, you shall honor your father and mother.’” ²⁰ And he was saying to Him, “Teacher, all these I have kept from my youth.” ²¹ And Jesus, having looked upon him, loved him and said to him, “One thing to you is lacking: Go, sell as much as you have, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” ²² And having been sad at the word, he went away grieving; for he was one having many possessions.

³⁵ He was the lamp burning and shining, and you were willing to rejoice for a season in his light.

¹³ And Simon himself also believed, and having been baptized, was steadfastly continuing with Philip. And beholding the signs and great miracles being performed, he was amazed.

¹⁸ Now of Simon having seen that the Spirit was given through the laying on of the apostles’ hands, he offered to them money, ¹⁹ saying, “Give also to me this authority, that on whomever I may lay the hands, he may receive the Holy Spirit.” ²⁰ But Peter said to him, “Your silver, may it perish with you, because you thought the gift of God to be obtained by money! ²¹ To you there is no part nor lot in this matter, for your heart is not right before God.

²⁵ And of him reasoning concerning righteousness and self-control and the coming judgment, Felix, having become frightened, answered, “Go away for the present, and having found opportunity, I will call for you.” ²⁶ At the same time also he is hoping that riches will be given him by Paul. So also sending for him often, he was talking with him.

²⁸ Then Agrippa said to Paul, “Within so little time do you persuade me to become a Christian?”

⁶ And blessed is he who shall not fall away in Me.”

³¹ Because of this I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men; but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.

²¹ And he has in himself no root, but is temporary. And having come tribulation or persecution on account of the word, immediately he falls away.

⁹ Then will they deliver you to tribulation, and will kill you, and you will be hated by all the nations on account of My name. ¹⁰ And then many will fall away, and they will betray one another, and will hate one another;

⁵ And other fell upon the rocky place where it had not much soil, and it sprang up immediately, because of not having depth of soil. ⁶ And after the sun rose, it was scorched, and because of not having root, it withered away.

¹⁰ And everyone who will speak a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but the one having blasphemed against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.

³¹ Therefore Jesus was saying to the Jews having believed in Him, “If you abide in My word, you are truly My disciples.

² Every branch not bearing fruit in Me, He takes it away; and every one bearing fruit, He prunes it that it may bear more fruit. ³ Already you are clean by reason of the word that I have spoken to you. ⁴ Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch is not able to bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither you, unless you abide in Me. ⁵ I am the vine; you are the branches. The one abiding in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit. For apart from Me you are able to do nothing. ⁶ If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown out like the branch and is dried up, and they gather them and cast them into the fire, and it is burned. ⁷ If you abide in Me and My words abide in you, you shall ask whatever you wish, and to you it will come to pass.

¹² Therefore the one thinking to stand, let him take heed, lest he fall. ¹³ No temptation has seized you, except what is common to man. And God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but will also provide with the temptation the escape, to be able to endure it.

¹² As many as desire to have a fair appearance in the flesh, these compel you to be circumcised, only that they might not be persecuted for the cross of Christ.

³ that no one be moved in these tribulations. For you yourselves know that we are destined for this. ⁴ And indeed, when we were with you, we were telling you beforehand that we are about to suffer affliction, just as also it came to pass, and you know. ⁵ Because of this I also, enduring no longer, sent in order to know your faith, lest somehow the one tempting had tempted you, and our labor would be in vain.

¹⁵ You know this, that all those in Asia turned away from me, among whom are Phygelus and Hermogenes.

¹⁷ and their talk will have pasture to grow like gangrene, among whom are Hymenaeus and Philetus, ¹⁸ who have gone astray concerning the truth, asserting the resurrection already to have taken place; and they are overthrowing the faith of some.

¹⁰ for Demas has deserted me, having loved the present age, and he has gone to Thessalonica, Crescens to Galatia, and Titus to Dalmatia.

¹⁶ In my first defense, no one has stood with me, but all deserted me. May it be not charged to them!

²⁹ How much worse punishment do you think will he deserve, the one having trampled upon the Son of God, and having esteemed ordinary the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and having insulted the Spirit of grace?

¹⁹ They went out from among us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us. But it is so that it might be made manifest that they are not all of us.

¹⁰ Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to cast some of you into prison, so that you might be tested; and you shall have tribulation ten days. Be faithful unto death, and I will give to you the crown of life.

¹³ I know where you dwell, where the throne of Satan is; and you hold fast to My name, and you have not denied My faith, even in the days of Antipas My witness, My faithful one, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells.

⁷ And other fell among the thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it, and it yielded no fruit.

¹⁰ Already now the ax is applied to the root of the trees. Therefore every tree not producing good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

²³ And Jesus said His to disciples, “Truly I say to you that with difficulty a rich man will enter into the kingdom of the heavens.

⁴¹ And the Lord answering said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things;

¹⁷ And he was reasoning within himself, saying, ‘What shall I do, for I have nowhere I will store up my fruits?’ ¹⁸ And he said, ‘I will do this: I will tear down my barns, and will build greater ones, and will store up there all my grain and goods. ¹⁹ And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have many good things laid up for many years; take your rest; eat, drink, be merry.”’ ²⁰ And God said to him, ‘Fool! This night, your soul is required of you; and what you did prepare—to whom will it be?’ ²¹ So is the one treasuring up for himself, and not being rich toward God.”

²⁹ And you, do not seek what you might eat, and what you might drink, and do not be in suspense; ³⁰ for all the nations of the world seek after these things, and your Father knows that you have need of these.

¹⁸ And all with one voice began to excuse themselves. The first said to him, ‘I have bought a field, and I have need, going out, to see it. I beg of you, hold me excused.’ ¹⁹ And another said, ‘I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I am going to prove them. I beg of you, hold me excused.’ ²⁰ And another said, ‘I have married a wife, and because of this I am not able to come.’

⁶ Be anxious about nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.

¹⁷ Instruct the rich in the present age not to be high-minded, nor to have hope in the uncertainty of riches, but on God, the One richly providing us all things for enjoyment;

⁷ For land having drunk in the rain coming often upon it and producing vegetation useful for those for the sake of whom also it is tilled, partakes of blessing from God. ⁸ But that bringing forth thorns and thistles is worthless and near to a curse, of which the end is unto burning.

² so as to live the remaining time in the flesh no longer to men’s desires, but to the will of God. ³ For the time past is sufficient to have carried out the desire of the Gentiles, having walked in sensuality, lusts, drunkenness, orgies, carousing, and abominable idolatries.

⁸ For these things being in you and abounding, make you neither idle nor unfruitful as to the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁵ Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone should love the world, the love of the Father is not in him, ¹⁶ because all that is in the world, the desire of the flesh and the desire of the eyes and the vaunting of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world. ¹⁷ And the world is passing away, and its desire; but the one doing the will of God abides to the age.

⁸ And other fell into the good soil and began yielding fruit, growing up and increasing, and one bearing thirtyfold, and one sixty, and one a hundred.”

⁴ Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch is not able to bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither you, unless you abide in Me. ⁵ I am the vine; you are the branches. The one abiding in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit. For apart from Me you are able to do nothing.

¹⁶ You did not chose Me, but I chose you and appointed you, that you should go and you should bear fruit, and your fruit should remain, so that whatever you might ask the Father in My name, He may give you.

⁴ Likewise, my brothers, you also have been put to death to the Law through the body of Christ, for you to belong to another, to the One having been raised out from the dead, so that we should bear fruit to God.

²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, ²³ gentleness, self-control. Against such things there is no law.

¹⁰ to walk worthily of the Lord: pleasing in all, bringing forth fruit in every good work, and growing in the knowledge of God,

¹ Finally then, brothers, we implore and exhort you in the Lord Jesus, that just as you have received from us in what manner it behooves you to walk and to please God, just as even you walk now, so you should abound more.

¹⁵ Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but upon the lampstand, and it gives light to all those in the house.

¹⁶ And no one having lighted a lamp, covers it with a vessel, or puts it under a bed. But he puts it on a lampstand, so that those entering in may see the light.

³³ But no one having lit a lamp, sets it in secret, nor under the basket, but upon the lampstand, that those entering in may see the light.

⁷ Now to each is given the manifestation of the Spirit, for the common profiting.

³ But let sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness not even be named among you, as also is proper to saints, ⁴ and filthiness, and foolish talking, or crude joking, which are not fitting, but rather thanksgiving. ⁵ For this you know, realizing that any fornicator, or unclean person, or covetous man, who is an idolater, has no inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. ⁶ Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. ⁷ Therefore do not be partakers with them. ⁸ For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light— ⁹ for the fruit of the light is in all goodness and righteousness and truth— ¹⁰ discerning what is well-pleasing to the Lord. ¹¹ And do not have fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather even expose them. ¹² For it is shameful even to mention the things being done by them in secret. ¹³ But everything being exposed by the light is made visible, for everything becoming visible is light. ¹⁴ Therefore it says: “Awake you, the one sleeping, and rise up out from the dead, and Christ will shine upon you.” ¹⁵ Therefore carefully take heed how you walk, not as unwise but as wise,

¹⁵ so that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God unblemished in the midst of a crooked and perverted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, ¹⁶ holding forth the word of life unto a boast to me in the day of Christ that I did not run in vain nor toil in vain.

²⁶ Therefore you should not fear them! For nothing is concealed that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known. ²⁷ What I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light; and what you hear in the ear, proclaim upon the housetops!

¹⁷ For nothing is hidden which will not become manifest, nor secret which shall not be known and come to light.

² And nothing is concealed up which will not be revealed, nor hidden which will not be known. ³ Instead, whatever you have said in the darkness will be heard in the light, and what you have spoken into the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed upon the housetops.

²⁰ For we are not able to stop speaking about what we have seen and heard.”

²⁷ For I did not shrink back from proclaiming to you the whole counsel of God.

⁵ Therefore do not judge anything before the time, until the Lord shall have come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the motives of the hearts; and then the praise will come to each from God.

¹ That which was from the beginning, that which we have heard, that which we have seen with our eyes, that which we have gazed upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life— ² and the life was made manifest, and we have seen and bear witness, and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was revealed to us— ³ that which we have seen and have heard, we proclaim to you also, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son, Jesus Christ.

¹⁷ The one having an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. The one overcoming, I will give to him the manna having been hidden, and I will give to him a white stone, and on the stone new a name having been written, which no one has known, except the one receiving it.

² For with that verdict you pronounce, you will be judged; and with that measure you measure, it will be measured to you.

⁷ And there came a cloud overshadowing them, and there came a voice out of the cloud: “This is My Son, the beloved; listen to Him.”

³⁷ And do not judge that you should not be judged; and do not condemn that you should not be condemned; forgive and you will be forgiven. ³⁸ Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure pressed down, shaken together, running over will they put into your lap. For with that measure you measure, it will be measured again to you.”

²⁵ Truly, truly, I say to you that an hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those having heard will live.

¹⁶ And I have other sheep which are not of this fold. It behooves Me to bring those also, and they will hear My voice, and there will be one flock with one shepherd.

²⁷ My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.

⁶ Now this: The one sowing sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the one sowing upon blessings will also reap upon blessings,

² like newborn babies, crave pure reasonable milk, so that by it you may grow up in respect to salvation,

¹ But there were also false prophets among the people, as there will be false teachers among you also, who will stealthily introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master having bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction. ² And many will follow after their sensuality, through whom the way of the truth will be maligned. ³ And through covetousness they will exploit you with fabricated words, for whom the judgment of long ago is not idle, and their destruction does not slumber.

¹ Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

¹² For whoever has, to him will be given, and he will be in abundance. And whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him.

²⁸ Therefore take the talent from him, and give it to the one having the ten talents. ²⁹ For to everyone having will be given, and he will have in abundance. But the one not having, even that which he has will be taken away from him.

⁹ And I say to you, make friends for yourselves by the mammon of unrighteousness, that when it fails, they might receive you into the eternal dwellings. ¹⁰ The one faithful in very little is also faithful in much, and the one unrighteous in very little is also unrighteous in much. ¹¹ If therefore you have not been faithful in unrighteous mammon, who will entrust to you the true? ¹² And unless you have been faithful in that which is of another, who will give to you that which is yours?

²⁴ And to those standing by he said, ‘Take from him the mina, and give it to the one having the ten minas.’ ²⁵ And they said to him, ‘Master, he has ten minas!’ ²⁶ ‘I say to you that to everyone having will be given, but from the one not having, even that which he has will be taken away.

² and saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of the heavens has drawn near.”

¹⁷ From that time Jesus began to proclaim and to say, “Repent, for the kingdom of the heavens has drawn near!”

¹¹ And answering He said to them, “Because it has been granted to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of the heavens, but to them it has not been granted.

³¹ He put before them another parable, saying: “The kingdom of the heavens is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man having taken, sowed in his field,

³³ He spoke to them another parable: “The kingdom of the heavens is like leaven, which a woman having taken, hid in three measures of flour until all of it was leavened.”

³ “Listen! Behold, the one sowing went out to sow. ⁴ And it came to pass as he sowed, some fell along the road, and the birds came and devoured it.

¹⁴ The one sowing sows the word. ¹⁵ And these are those along the road, where the word is sown; and when they hear, immediately Satan comes and takes away the word having been sown in them. ¹⁶ And these are likewise those sown upon the rocky places, who when they hear the word, immediately receive it with joy, ¹⁷ and they have no root in themselves, but are temporary. Then tribulation or persecution having arisen on account of the word, immediately they fall away. ¹⁸ And these are those sown among the thorns. These are those having heard the word, ¹⁹ and the cares of this age and the deceit of riches, and the desires of the other things entering in, choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. ²⁰ And these are those having been sown upon the good soil, such as hear the word and receive it, and bring forth fruit: one thirtyfold, and one sixty, and one a hundred.”

¹⁸ And He was saying, “To what is the kingdom of God like? And to what shall I liken it?

²⁴ Truly, truly, I say to you, unless the grain of wheat, having fallen into the ground, should die, it abides alone; but if it should die, it bears much fruit.

¹⁸ And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those making peace.

⁷ Do not wonder that I said to you, ‘It is necessary for you all to be born from above.’ ⁸ The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know from where it comes and where it goes. Thus is everyone having been born of the Spirit.”

³⁷ And what you sow is not the body that will be, but you sow a bare grain, if it may be of wheat, or of some of the rest. ³⁸ But God gives it a body as He has willed, and to each of the seeds, its own body.

³ We ought to thank God always concerning you, brothers, just as it is fitting, because your faith is increasing exceedingly, and the love of each one of you all to one another is abounding,

¹⁸ But grow in grace and in knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.

³¹ As a grain of mustard, which, when it has been sown upon the earth, is smallest of all the seeds that are upon the earth, ³² and when it has been sown, it grows up, and becomes greater than all the garden plants, and produces great branches, so that the birds of the air are able to encamp under its shadow.”

⁶ being persuaded of this very thing, that the One having begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Christ Jesus.

⁹ And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and all discernment, ¹⁰ for you to approve the things being excellent, so that you may be pure and blameless unto the day of Christ, ¹¹ being filled with the fruit of righteousness that is through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

¹² And may the Lord make you to increase and to abound in love toward one another, and toward all, just as also we toward you, ¹³ in order to strengthen your hearts, blameless in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all His saints. Amen.

³⁰ Allow both to grow together until the harvest; and in the time of the harvest I will say to the harvesters, “First gather the weeds, and bind them into bundles in order to burn them; then gather together the wheat into my barn.”’”

⁴⁰ Therefore, as the weeds are gathered and consumed in fire, so will it be in the consummation of the age. ⁴¹ The Son of Man will send forth His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all the stumbling blocks and those practicing lawlessness, ⁴² and they will cast them into the furnace of fire, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. ⁴³ Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. The one having ears, let him hear!

⁷ I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. ⁸ From now on the crown of righteousness is laid up for me, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me in that day; but not only to me, but also to all those loving His appearing.

¹³ And I heard a voice out of heaven, saying “Write, ‘Blessed are the dead dying in the Lord from now on.’” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “so that they will rest from their labors; for their works follow with them.” ¹⁴ And I looked, and behold, a white cloud, and upon the cloud is sitting One like the Son of Man, having on His head a golden crown, and in His hand a sharp sickle. ¹⁵ And another angel came out of the temple, crying in a loud voice to the One sitting on the cloud, “Put forth Your sickle and reap, because the hour to reap has come, because the harvest of the earth has ripened.” ¹⁶ And the One sitting upon the cloud put forth His sickle upon the earth, and the earth was harvested. ¹⁷ And another angel came out of the temple in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle.

¹⁶ But to what will I compare this generation? It is like little children sitting in the markets and calling out to others,

³¹ He put before them another parable, saying: “The kingdom of the heavens is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man having taken, sowed in his field, ³² which indeed is smallest of all the seeds; but when it is grown, it is greater than the garden plants, and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and encamp in its branches.”

¹⁸ And He was saying, “To what is the kingdom of God like? And to what shall I liken it? ¹⁹ It is like to a grain of mustard, which a man having taken, cast into his garden; and it grew and came into a tree, and the birds of the air encamped in its branches.” ²⁰ And again He said, “To what shall I liken the kingdom of God? ²¹ It is like to leaven, which a woman, having taken, hid in three measures of meal, until it all was leavened.”

³¹ He put before them another parable, saying: “The kingdom of the heavens is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man having taken, sowed in his field, ³² which indeed is smallest of all the seeds; but when it is grown, it is greater than the garden plants, and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and encamp in its branches.” ³³ He spoke to them another parable: “The kingdom of the heavens is like leaven, which a woman having taken, hid in three measures of flour until all of it was leavened.”

¹⁸ And He was saying, “To what is the kingdom of God like? And to what shall I liken it? ¹⁹ It is like to a grain of mustard, which a man having taken, cast into his garden; and it grew and came into a tree, and the birds of the air encamped in its branches.”

⁴¹ Therefore those indeed having received his word were baptized, and on that day about three thousand souls were added.

⁴ But many of those having heard the word believed, and the number of the men became about five thousand.

¹⁴ And more believing in the Lord were added, multitudes both of men and women,

²⁰ Thus the word of the Lord continued to increase and prevail with might.

²⁰ And those having heard began glorifying God, and they said to him, “You see, brother, how many myriads there are among the Jews having believed, and are all zealous ones for the Law.

¹⁵ And the seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were great voices in heaven, saying: “The kingdom of the world has become that of our Lord and of His Christ, and He will reign to the ages of the ages.”

¹ And I saw an angel descending out of heaven, holding in his hand the key of the Abyss, and a great chain. ² And he seized the dragon, the ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years. ³ And he cast him into the Abyss, and shut and sealed it over him, so that he should not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were completed. After these things it is necessary for him to be released for a little time. ⁴ And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given to them, and the souls of those having been beheaded because of the testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God, and those who did not worship the beast, nor his image, and did not take the mark upon the forehead, and upon their hand. And they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. ⁵ The rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years shall have been completed. This is the first resurrection. ⁶ Blessed and holy is the one having a part in the first resurrection! Over these the second death has no authority, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and will reign with Him a thousand years.

¹² Yet I have many things to say to you, but you are not able to bear them now.

³⁶ Then having dismissed the crowds, He went into the house. And His disciples came to Him, saying, “Explain to us the parable of the weeds of the field.” ³⁷ And answering He said, “The One sowing the good seed is the Son of Man; ³⁸ and the field is the world; and the good seed, these are the sons of the kingdom; and the weeds are the sons of the evil one; ³⁹ and the enemy having sown them is the devil; and the harvest is the consummation of the age; and the harvesters are angels.

¹⁵ And Peter answering said to Him, “Explain this parable to us.” ¹⁶ And He said, “Are you also still without understanding? ¹⁷ Do you not yet understand that everything entering into the mouth goes into the stomach, and is cast out into the sewer? ¹⁸ But the things going forth out of the mouth come forth out of the heart, and these defile the man. ¹⁹ For out of the heart come forth evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, sexual immorality, thefts, false testimonies, slanders. ²⁰ These are the things defiling the man, but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile the man.”

¹⁰ And when He was alone, those around Him with the Twelve began asking Him about the parable.

¹⁷ And when He went into the house from the crowd, His disciples were asking Him the parable. ¹⁸ And He says to them, “Thus are you also without understanding? Do you not understand that everything entering into the man from outside is not able to defile him, ¹⁹ because it does not enter into his heart, but into the belly, and goes out into the sewer?” (Thus purifying all foods.) ²⁰ And He was saying, “That going forth out of the man, that defiles the man. ²¹ For from within the heart of men go forth evil thoughts, sexual immorality, thefts, murders, adulteries, ²² covetous desires, wickednesses, deceit, sensuality, an evil eye, slander, pride, foolishness. ²³ All these evils go forth from within, and they defile the man.”

²⁷ And having begun from Moses and from all the Prophets, He interpreted to them the things concerning Himself in all the Scriptures.

⁴⁴ And He said unto to them, “These are my words, which I spoke to you being still with you, that all things having been written concerning Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms, it behooves to be fulfilled.” ⁴⁵ Then He opened their mind to understand the Scriptures. ⁴⁶ And He said to them, “Thus it has been written: The Christ was to suffer and to rise out from the dead on the third day,

²⁵ I have spoken these things to you in allegories; an hour is coming when I will speak to you no more in allegories, but I will report to you plainly concerning the Father.

¹⁸ And Jesus, having seen a great crowd around Him, gave orders to depart to the other side.

²³ And He having entered into the boat, His disciples followed Him. ²⁴ And behold, a great storm arose in the sea so that the boat was being swamped by the waves; but He Himself was sleeping. ²⁵ And having approached, they awoke Him, saying, “Lord, save us, we are perishing!” ²⁶ And He says to them, “O you of little faith, Why are you afraid?” Then having arisen, He rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. ²⁷ And the men marveled, saying, “What kind of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?”

²² And immediately He compelled the disciples to enter into the boat and to go before Him to the other side, until He would have dismissed the crowds.

²¹ And Jesus having passed over again in the boat to the other side, a great crowd was gathered to Him, and He was beside the sea.

⁴⁵ And immediately He compelled His disciples to enter into the boat and to go before Him to the other side, to Bethsaida, until He should dismiss the crowd.

¹³ And having left them, having embarked again, He went away to the other side.

²² And it came to pass, on one of the days also, He with His disciples entered into a boat, and He said to them, “Let us pass over to the other side of the lake.” And they launched out.

²⁵ And He said to them, “Where is your faith?” And having been afraid, they marveled, saying to one another, “Who then is this, that He commands even the winds and the water, and they obey Him?”

¹ After these things Jesus went away, over the Sea of Galilee (of Tiberias),

¹⁷ and having entered into a boat, they were going over the sea to Capernaum. And already it had become dark, and Jesus had not come to them.

²⁵ And having found Him on the other side of the sea, they said to Him, “Rabbi, when have You come here?”

⁹ And He spoke to His disciples, that a boat might wait upon Him, on account of the crowd, that they might not press upon Him.

¹ And again He began to teach beside the sea. And a great crowd was gathered together to Him, so that He, having entered into a boat, sat in the sea, and all the crowd was on the land, close to the sea.

² And of Him having gone forth out of the boat, immediately out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit met Him,

²³ And He having entered into the boat, His disciples followed Him. ²⁴ And behold, a great storm arose in the sea so that the boat was being swamped by the waves; but He Himself was sleeping.

²² And it came to pass, on one of the days also, He with His disciples entered into a boat, and He said to them, “Let us pass over to the other side of the lake.” And they launched out. ²³ And of them sailing, He fell asleep. And a storm of wind came down on the lake, and they were being swamped, and were in danger.

¹⁴ But not long after, there came down from it a tempestuous wind called the Northeaster. ¹⁵ And the ship having been caught and not being able to face to the wind, having given way, we were driven along. ¹⁶ And having run under a certain island called Cauda, we were able with difficulty to gain control of the lifeboat, ¹⁷ which having taken up, they began using supports, undergirding the ship. And fearing lest they should fall into the sandbars of Syrtis, having lowered the gear, thus they were driven along. ¹⁸ And we being storm-tossed violently, on the next day they began to make a jettison of cargo, ¹⁹ and on the third day they cast away the tackle of the ship with the own hands. ²⁰ And neither sun nor stars appearing for many days, and no small tempest lying on us, from then on all hope of our being saved was abandoned.

⁴¹ But having fallen into a place between two seas, they ran the vessel aground. And indeed the bow, having stuck fast, remained immovable, and the stern was being broken up by the violence of the waves.

²⁵ Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was stoned, three times I was shipwrecked. I have passed a night and a day in the deep sea;

²⁵ And having approached, they awoke Him, saying, “Lord, save us, we are perishing!”

²⁴ And having approached, they awoke Him, saying, “Master, Master, we are perishing!” And having arisen, He rebuked the wind and the raging of the water, and they ceased, and there was a calm.

⁶ And Jacob’s well was there. Therefore Jesus, being wearied from the journey, thus was sitting at the well. The hour was about the sixth.

¹⁷ Therefore it behooved Him to be made like the brothers in all things, so that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things relating to God, in order to make propitiation for the sins of the people.

¹⁵ For we do not have a high priest not being able to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one having been tempted in all things by the same way, without sin.

⁷ having cast all your anxiety upon Him, because with Him there is care about you.

²⁵ And Jesus, having seen that a crowd was running together, rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, “Mute and deaf spirit, I command you, come out of him, and you may enter into him no more.”

³⁹ And having stood over her, He rebuked the fever, and it left her; and immediately having arisen, she began to serve them.

³⁰ But if God thus clothes the grass of the field, existing today and tomorrow being thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

²⁶ And He says to them, “O you of little faith, Why are you afraid?” Then having arisen, He rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm.

³¹ And immediately Jesus having stretched out the hand, took hold of him and says to him, “O Little faith, why did you waver?”

⁸ But having known this, Jesus said, “Why do you reason among yourselves, you of little faith, because you did not take bread?

¹⁹ Therefore, having rowed about twenty-five or thirty stadia, they see Jesus walking on the sea and coming near the boat, and they were frightened. ²⁰ Now He says to them, “I am He; do not fear.”

²⁷ And the men marveled, saying, “What kind of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?”

³² And they having entered into the boat, the wind ceased.

³³ And the woman, having been frightened and trembling, knowing what had been done to her, came and fell down before Him, and told Him the whole truth.

³⁷ And they were astonished above measure, saying, “He has done all things well. He makes both the deaf to hear and the mute to speak.”

³⁶ And astonishment came upon all, and they were speaking to one another, saying, “What word is this, that He commands the unclean spirits with authority and power, and they come out?”

²⁸ Therefore, receiving a kingdom not to be shaken, we may have grace, by which we may serve God well pleasingly, with fear and reverence.

⁴ Who should not fear You, O Lord, and will glorify Your name? For You alone are holy. For all the nations will come and will worship before You, because Your righteous acts have been revealed.”
