1 And after two days it would be the Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread. And the chief priests and the scribes were seeking how, having taken Him by stealth, they might kill Him.
2 For they were saying, “Not during the feast, lest there will be an uproar of the people.”
3 And of Him being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, of Him having reclined, a woman came having an alabaster flask of fragrant oil of pure nard, of great price. Having broken the alabaster flask, she poured it on His head.
4 And some were indignant within themselves: “Why has this the waste of the fragrant oil been made?
5 For this fragrant oil could have been sold for above three hundred denarii, and have been given to the poor.” And they were grumbling at her.
6 And Jesus said, “Leave her alone; why do you cause trouble to her? She did a good work toward Me.
7 For the poor you always have with you, and you are able to do them good whenever you desire; but not always do you have Me.
8 She did what she could. She came beforehand to anoint My body for the burial.
9 And truly I say to you, wherever the gospel shall be proclaimed in the whole world, what this woman has done also will be spoken of, for a memorial of her.”
10 And Judas Iscariot, one of the Twelve, went away to the chief priests, that he might betray Him to them.
11 And having heard, they rejoiced and promised to give him money. And he was seeking how he might deliver Him up conveniently.
12 And on the first day of unleavened bread, when they were to sacrifice the Passover lamb, His disciples say to Him, “Where do You desire that, having gone, we should prepare that You may eat the Passover?”
13 And He sends forth two of His disciples and says to them, “Go into the city, and a man carrying a pitcher of water will meet you. Follow him.
14 And wherever he might enter, say to the master of the house that the Teacher says, ‘Where is My guest room, where I may eat the Passover with My disciples?’
15 And he will show you a large upper room, having been furnished and ready. And prepare for us there.”
16 And his disciples went away, and came into the city, and found as He had said to them, and they prepared the Passover.
17 And evening having arrived, He comes with the Twelve.
18 And as they were reclining and were eating, Jesus said, “Truly I say to you that one of you who is eating with Me will betray Me.”
19 They began to be grieved and to say to Him one by one, “Surely not I?”
20 And He said to them, “It is one of the Twelve, the one dipping in the bowl with Me.
21 For indeed the Son of Man goes as it has been written concerning Him; but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed; it were better for him if that man had not been born.”
22 And as they were eating, having taken bread, having spoken a blessing, He broke it and gave it to them and said, “Take it; this is My body.”
23 And having taken the cup, having given thanks, He gave it to them, and they all drank of it.
24 And He said to them, “This is My blood of the covenant, which is being poured out for many.
25 Truly I say to you that never will I drink of the fruit of the vine again, until that day when I drink it anew in the kingdom of God.”
26 And having sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.
27 And Jesus says to them, “You will all fall away, for it has been written: ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.’
28 But after having arisen, I will go before you into Galilee.”
29 And Peter was saying to Him, “Even if all will fall away, yet I will not.”
30 And Jesus says to him, “Truly I say to you that now this night, before that the rooster crows twice, you yourself will deny Me three times.”
31 And he kept saying emphatically, “If it is needful of me to die with You, never will I deny You.” And all of them were saying likewise also.
32 And they come to a place, the name of which is Gethsemane; and He says to His disciples, “Sit here, while I shall pray.”
33 And He takes Peter and James and John with Him; and He began to be greatly awe-struck and deeply distressed.
34 And He says to them, “My soul is very sorrowful, even to death; remain here and watch.”
35 And having gone forward a little, He fell upon the ground, and was praying that if it is possible, the hour might pass from Him.
36 And He was saying, “Abba, Father, all things are possible to You; take away this cup from Me; but not what I will, but what You will.”
37 And He comes and finds them sleeping. And He says to Peter, “Simon are you asleep? Were you not able to watch one hour?
38 Watch and pray, so that you may not enter into temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
39 And again having gone away, He prayed, having said the same thing.
40 And again having returned, he found them sleeping. For their the eyes were heavy, and they did not know what they should answer Him.
41 And He comes the third time and says to them, “Are you still sleeping and taking your rest? It is enough; the hour has come. Behold, the Son of Man is delivered up into the hands of the sinful.
42 Rise, let us go. Behold, the one betraying Me has drawn near!”
43 And immediately while yet He is speaking, Judas, one of the Twelve, comes up, and with Him a crowd with swords and clubs, from the chief priests and the scribes and the elders.
44 And the one delivering Him up had given to them a sign, saying: “Whomever I shall kiss is He; seize Him and lead Him away securely.”
45 And having arrived, having come up to Him immediately, he says, “Rabbi!” And he kissed Him.
46 And they laid hands on Him and seized Him.
47 And a certain one of those standing by, having drawn the sword, struck the servant of the high priest and cut off his ear.
48 And Jesus answering said to them, “Are you come out with swords and clubs as against a robber, to capture Me?
49 Every day I was with you in the temple teaching, and you did not seize Me. But it is that the Scriptures may be fulfilled.”
50 And all having left Him, fled.
51 And a certain young man was following Him, having cast a linen cloth about his naked body. And they seize him,
52 and having left behind the linen cloth, he fled naked.
53 And they led away Jesus to the high priest. And all the chief priests, and the elders, and the scribes come together.
54 And Peter followed Him from afar off, as far as to within the court of the high priest; and he was sitting with the officers and warming himself at the fire.
55 And the chief priests and all the Council were seeking testimony against Jesus to put Him to death, but they were not finding any.
56 For many were bearing false testimony against Him, but their testimonies were not alike.
57 And some having risen up, were bearing false testimony against Him, saying,
58 “We heard Him saying, ‘I will destroy this temple, the one made with hands, and in three days I will build another, not made with hands.’”
59 And their testimony was thus not alike.
60 And the high priest having stood up in the midst, questioned Jesus, saying, “Do You not answer? What is it these testify against You?”
61 But He was silent, and did not answer. Again the high priest was questioning Him, and says to Him, “Are You the Christ, the Son of the Blessed One?”
62 And Jesus said, “I am. And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power and coming with the clouds of heaven.”
63 And the high priest, having torn his garments, says, “Why have we need of witnesses?
64 You heard the blasphemy. What does it appear to you?” And all condemned Him to be deserving of death.
65 And some began to spit upon Him, and to cover up His face, and to strike Him and to say to Him, “Prophesy!” And the officers struck Him with the palms.
66 And Peter being below in the courtyard, one of the servant girls of the high priest comes,
67 and having seen Peter warming himself, having looked at him, she says, “You also were with the Nazarene, Jesus.”
68 But he denied it, saying, “I neither know nor even understand what you say.” And he went forth out into the porch; and the rooster crowed.
69 And the servant girl, having seen him, began to say again to those standing by, “This is one of them.”
70 But he denied it again. And after a little, again those standing by were saying to Peter, “Truly you are of them, for you also are a Galilean.”
71 But he began to curse and to swear, “I do not know this man whom you speak of!”
72 And immediately a rooster crowed for the second time. And Peter remembered the word that Jesus had said to him, “Before the rooster crows twice, you will deny Me three times.” And having broken down, he began to weep.

18 (Then indeed this man acquired a field out of the reward of unrighteousness, and having fallen headlong, he burst open in the middle and all his intestines gushed out.
19 And it became known to all those dwelling in Jerusalem, so that that field was called in their own language Akeldama, that is, Field of Blood.)
20 “For it has been written in the book of Psalms: ‘Let his homestead become desolate, and let there be not one dwelling in it,’ and, ‘Let another take his position.’

26 Now as they were eating, Jesus, having taken bread and having blessed it, broke it, and having given it to the disciples, He said, “Take, eat; this is My body.”
27 And having taken the cup and having given thanks, He gave it to them, saying, “Drink of it, all of you.
28 For this is My blood of the covenant, being poured out for many, for forgiveness of sins.
29 And I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now until that the day when I drink it anew with you in the kingdom of My Father.”

48 I am the bread of life.
49 Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness and died.
50 This is the bread coming down from heaven, that anyone may eat of it and not die.
51 I am the living bread, having come down from heaven. If anyone shall have eaten of this bread, he will live to the age. And also, the bread that I will give for the life of the world is My flesh.”
52 Therefore the Jews were arguing with one another, saying, “How is this man able to give us His flesh to eat?”
53 Therefore Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you shall have eaten the flesh of the Son of Man, and shall have drunk His blood, you do not have life in yourselves.
54 The one eating My flesh and drinking My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up in the last day.
55 For My flesh is true food, and My blood is true drink.
56 The one eating My flesh and drinking My blood abides in Me, and I in him.
57 As the living Father sent Me and I live because of the Father, so also the one feeding on Me, he also will live because of Me.
58 This is the bread having come down from heaven, not as the fathers ate and died. The one eating this bread will live to the age.”

25 Likewise also the cup after having supped, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as you might drink it, in remembrance of Me.”
26 For as often as you may eat this bread and may drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He should come.
27 Therefore whoever should eat the bread or should drink the cup of the Lord unworthily will be guilty of the body and of the blood of the Lord.
28 But let a man examine himself, and in this manner let him eat of the bread, and let him drink of the cup.
29 For the one eating and drinking not discerning the body, eats and drinks judgment on himself.

15 And because of this, He is the mediator of a new covenant, so that, death having taken place for redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, those having been called might receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.
16 For where there is a will, it is necessary to establish the death of the one having made it.
17 For a will is affirmed after death, since it is not in force at the time when the one having made it is living,
18 wherefore neither has the first been inaugurated apart from blood.
19 For of every commandment having been spoken by Moses to all the people according to the Law, having taken the blood of calves and of goats, with water and scarlet wool and hyssop, he sprinkled both the book itself and all the people,
20 saying, “This is the blood of the covenant, which God commanded unto you.”
21 And likewise he sprinkled also the tabernacle and all the vessels of the ministry with blood.
22 And almost all things are purified with blood according to the Law, and apart from blood-shedding there is no forgiveness.
23 Therefore it was necessary indeed for the representations of the things in the heavens to be purified with these, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.

8 And when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls being full of incenses, which are the prayers of the saints.

10 and You have made them a kingdom and priests to our God; and they will reign upon the earth.”

9 After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude, which no one was able to number it, out of every nation, and tribes, and peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, having been clothed with white robes, and palm branches in their hands.
10 And they were crying out in a loud voice, saying: “Salvation to our God, the One sitting on the throne, and to the Lamb!”
11 And all the angels stood around the throne, and the elders, and the four living creatures, and they fell upon their faces before the throne and worshiped God,
12 saying, “Amen! Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honor, and power, and strength, to our God, to the ages of the ages! Amen.”
13 And one of the elders answered, saying to me, “These having been clothed with the white robes, who are they, and from where have they come?”
14 And I said to him, “My lord, you know.” And he said to me, “These are the ones coming out of the great tribulation, and they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
15 Because of this, ‘They are before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His temple; and the One sitting on the throne will tabernacle over them.
16 they will not hunger any more, neither will they thirst anymore, nor shall the sun at all fall upon them, nor any scorching heat;
17 because the Lamb in the center of the throne will shepherd them, and He will lead them to fountains living of waters, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.’”

33 And Peter answering, said to Him, “If all will fall away because of You, I never will fall away.”
34 Jesus said to him, “Truly I say to you, during this night, before the rooster crowing, you will deny Me three times.”
35 Peter says to Him, “Even if it were necessary for me to die with You, I will never deny You.” And all the disciples said likewise.

72 And again he denied it with an oath, “I do not know the man.”
73 And after a little while those standing by having approached, said to Peter, “Surely you are of them also, for even your speech gives you away.”
74 Then he began to curse and to swear, “I do not know the man!” And immediately a rooster crowed.

8 Jesus answered, “I have told you that I am He. Therefore if you seek Me, allow these to go away,”
9 so that the word that He had spoken might be fulfilled, “Those whom You have given Me, I have lost none of them, not one.”
10 Then Simon Peter, having a sword, drew it and struck the servant of the high priest and cut off his right ear. Now the servant’s name was Malchus.

19 Then the high priest questioned Jesus concerning His disciples and concerning His teaching.
20 Jesus answered him, “I have spoken openly to the world. I always taught in the synagogue and in the temple, where the Jews always come together; and I spoke nothing in secret.
21 Why do you question Me? Question those having heard what I spoke to them. Behold, they know what I said.”
22 Now of His having said these things, one of the officers standing by gave a blow with the palm to Jesus, having said, “Do You answer the high priest this way?”
23 Jesus answered him, “If I spoke evil, bear witness concerning the evil; but if rightly, why do you strike Me?”
24 Then Annas sent Him bound to Caiaphas the high priest.

11 Then they suborned men, saying, “We have heard him speaking blasphemous words against Moses and God.”

13 And they set false witnesses, saying, “This man does not stop speaking words against this holy place and the Law.
Acts 24:1-13
1 And after five days, the high priest Ananias came down with some elders and a certain orator, Tertullus, who made a representation against Paul to the governor.
2 And of him having been called, Tertullus began to accuse, saying, “We are attaining great peace through you, and excellent measures are being done to this nation through your foresight.
3 Both in every way and everywhere, we gladly accept it, most excellent Felix, with all thankfulness.
4 But in order that I should not be a hindrance you to any longer, I implore you to hear us briefly, in your kindness.
5 For we are having found this man a pest, and stirring insurrection among all the Jews in the world, and a leader of the sect of the Nazarenes
6 who even attempted to profane the temple, whom also we seized.
7 8 Having examined him yourself, you will be able to know from him concerning all these things of which we accuse him.”
9 And the Jews also agreed, declaring these things to be so.
10 And the governor having made a sign to him to speak, Paul answered: “Knowing you as being judge to this nation for many years, I make a defense cheerfully to the things concerning myself.
11 You are able to know that there are to me not more than twelve days since I went up to worship in Jerusalem.
12 And neither did they find me reasoning with anyone or making a tumultuous gathering of a crowd in the temple, nor in the synagogues, nor in the city.
13 Nor are they able to prove to you concerning the things of which now they accuse me.
1 Peter 3:16-18
16 having a good conscience, so that in the case that they might speak against you, those reviling your good manner of life in Christ, they shall be ashamed.
17 For it is better to suffer for doing good, if the will of God wills it, than doing evil,
18 because Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, so that He might bring you to God, having been put to death indeed in the flesh, but having been made alive in the spirit,

20 For the Father loves the Son and shows to Him all things that He does. And He will show Him greater works than these, so that you may marvel.
21 For even as the Father raises up the dead and gives life, thus also the Son gives life to whom He will.
22 For the Father judges no one, but has given all judgment to the Son,
23 so that all may honor the Son, even as they honor the Father. He who is not honoring the Son is not honoring the Father, the One having sent Him.
