¹ Ἀναβλέψας (Having looked up) δὲ (now), εἶδεν (He saw) τοὺς (the ones) βάλλοντας (casting) εἰς (into) τὸ (the) γαζοφυλάκιον (treasury) τὰ (the) δῶρα (gifts) αὐτῶν (of them) πλουσίους (rich).

⁶ Οἱ (-) δὲ (And) ἀρχιερεῖς (the chief priests), λαβόντες (having taken) τὰ (the) ἀργύρια (pieces of silver), εἶπαν (said), “Οὐκ (Not) ἔξεστιν (it is lawful) βαλεῖν (to put) αὐτὰ (them) εἰς (into) τὸν (the) κορβανᾶν (treasury), ἐπεὶ (since the) τιμὴ (price) αἵματός (of blood) ἐστιν (it is).”

¹¹ ὑμεῖς (You) δὲ (however) λέγετε (say that) Ἐὰν (if) εἴπῃ (says) ἄνθρωπος (a man) τῷ (to the) πατρὶ (father) ἢ (or) τῇ (the) μητρί (mother), ‘Κορβᾶν (It is Corban),’ ὅ (that) ἐστιν (is), Δῶρον (a gift), ‘Ὃ (whatever) ἐὰν (if) ἐξ (from) ἐμοῦ (me) ὠφεληθῇς (you might be profited),’ ¹² οὐκέτι (no longer) ἀφίετε (do you allow) αὐτὸν (him) οὐδὲν (anything) ποιῆσαι (to do) τῷ (for the) πατρὶ (father) ἢ (or) τῇ (the) μητρί (mother), ¹³ ἀκυροῦντες (making void) τὸν (the) λόγον (word) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) τῇ (for the) παραδόσει (tradition) ὑμῶν (of you) ᾗ (which) παρεδώκατε (you have handed down). καὶ (And) παρόμοια (like things) τοιαῦτα (such) πολλὰ (many) ποιεῖτε (you do).”

⁴¹ Καὶ (And) καθίσας (having sat down) κατέναντι (opposite) τοῦ (the) γαζοφυλακίου (treasury), ἐθεώρει (He was watching) πῶς (how) ὁ (the) ὄχλος (crowd) βάλλει (cast) χαλκὸν (money) εἰς (into) τὸ (the) γαζοφυλάκιον (treasury); καὶ (and) πολλοὶ (many) πλούσιοι (rich) ἔβαλλον (were casting in) πολλά (much). ⁴² καὶ (And) ἐλθοῦσα (having come), μία (one) χήρα (widow) πτωχὴ (poor) ἔβαλεν (cast in) λεπτὰ (lepta) δύο (two), ὅ (which) ἐστιν (is) κοδράντης (a kodrantes). ⁴³ Καὶ (And) προσκαλεσάμενος (having called to Him) τοὺς (the) μαθητὰς (disciples) αὐτοῦ (of Him), εἶπεν (He says) αὐτοῖς (to them), “Ἀμὴν (Truly) λέγω (I say) ὑμῖν (to you) ὅτι (that) ἡ (the) χήρα (widow) αὕτη (this) ἡ (-) πτωχὴ (poor), πλεῖον (more) πάντων (than all) ἔβαλεν (has cast in) τῶν (of those) βαλλόντων (casting) εἰς (into) τὸ (the) γαζοφυλάκιον (treasury). ⁴⁴ πάντες (All) γὰρ (for) ἐκ (out of) τοῦ (that which) περισσεύοντος (was abounding) αὐτοῖς (to them) ἔβαλον (cast in); αὕτη (she) δὲ (however), ἐκ (out of) τῆς (the) ὑστερήσεως (poverty) αὐτῆς (of her), πάντα (all) ὅσα (as much as) εἶχεν (she had) ἔβαλεν (cast in), ὅλον (all) τὸν (the) βίον (livelihood) αὐτῆς (of her).”

²⁰ Ταῦτα (These) τὰ (-) ῥήματα (words) ἐλάλησεν (He spoke) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) γαζοφυλακίῳ (treasury), διδάσκων (teaching) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) ἱερῷ (temple); καὶ (and) οὐδεὶς (no one) ἐπίασεν (seized) αὐτόν (Him), ὅτι (for) οὔπω (not yet) ἐληλύθει (had come) ἡ (the) ὥρα (hour) αὐτοῦ (of Him).
