³⁹ Τοῦτο (This) δέ (now) ἐστιν (is) τὸ (the) θέλημα (will) τοῦ (of the One) πέμψαντός (having sent) με (Me), ἵνα (that) πᾶν (all) ὃ (that) δέδωκέν (He has given) μοι (Me), μὴ (none) ἀπολέσω (I should lose) ἐξ (of) αὐτοῦ (it), ἀλλὰ (but) ἀναστήσω (will raise up) αὐτὸ (it) ἐν (in) τῇ (the) ἐσχάτῃ (last) ἡμέρᾳ (day).

²⁸ κἀγὼ (and I) δίδωμι (give) αὐτοῖς (them) ζωὴν (life) αἰώνιον (eternal); καὶ (and) οὐ (never) μὴ (not) ἀπόλωνται (shall they perish), εἰς (to) τὸν (the) αἰῶνα (age), καὶ (and) οὐχ (never) ἁρπάσει (will seize) τις (anyone) αὐτὰ (them) ἐκ (out of) τῆς (the) χειρός (hand) μου (of Me). ²⁹ ὁ (The) Πατήρ (Father) μου (of Me) ὃ (who) δέδωκέν (has given them) μοι (to Me), πάντων (than all) μεῖζόν (greater) ἐστιν (is), καὶ (and) οὐδεὶς (no one) δύναται (is able) ἁρπάζειν (to seize them) ἐκ (out of) τῆς (the) χειρὸς (hand) τοῦ (the) Πατρός (Father). ³⁰ ἐγὼ (I) καὶ (and) ὁ (the) Πατὴρ (Father) ἕν (one) ἐσμεν (are).”

²⁶ ἐὰν (If) ἐμοί (Me) τις (anyone) διακονῇ (serves), ἐμοὶ (Me) ἀκολουθείτω (let him follow); καὶ (and) ὅπου (where) εἰμὶ (am) ἐγὼ (I), ἐκεῖ (there) καὶ (also) ὁ (the) διάκονος (servant) ὁ (-) ἐμὸς (of Me) ἔσται (will be). ἐάν (If) τις (anyone) ἐμοὶ (Me) διακονῇ (serves), τιμήσει (will honor) αὐτὸν (him) ὁ (the) Πατήρ (Father).

²² Λέγει (Says) αὐτῷ (to Him) Ἰούδας (Judas), οὐχ (not) ὁ (-) Ἰσκαριώτης (Iscariot), “Κύριε (Lord), καὶ (then) τί (what) γέγονεν (has occurred) ὅτι (that) ἡμῖν (to us) μέλλεις (You are about) ἐμφανίζειν (to manifest) σεαυτὸν (Yourself), καὶ (and) οὐχὶ (not) τῷ (to the) κόσμῳ (world)?”

¹⁶ οὐχ (Not) ὑμεῖς (you) με (Me) ἐξελέξασθε (chose), ἀλλ’ (but) ἐγὼ (I) ἐξελεξάμην (chose) ὑμᾶς (you), καὶ (and) ἔθηκα (appointed) ὑμᾶς (you) ἵνα (that) ὑμεῖς (you) ὑπάγητε (should go) καὶ (and) καρπὸν (fruit) φέρητε (you should bear), καὶ (and) ὁ (the) καρπὸς (fruit) ὑμῶν (of you) μένῃ (should remain); ἵνα (so that) ὅ¦τι (whatever) ἂν (-) αἰτήσητε (you might ask) τὸν (the) Πατέρα (Father) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) ὀνόματί (name) μου (of Me), δῷ (He may give) ὑμῖν (you).

¹¹ καὶ (And) οὐκέτι (no longer) εἰμὶ (I am) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) κόσμῳ (world), καὶ (and yet) αὐτοὶ (themselves) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) κόσμῳ (world) εἰσίν (they are), κἀγὼ (and I) πρὸς (to) σὲ (You) ἔρχομαι (am coming). Πάτερ (Father) ἅγιε (Holy), τήρησον (keep) αὐτοὺς (them) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) ὀνόματί (name) σου (of You), ᾧ (which) δέδωκάς (You have given) μοι (Me), ἵνα (that) ὦσιν (they may be) ἓν (one) καθὼς (as) ἡμεῖς (we are). ¹² ὅτε (When) ἤμην (I was) μετ’ (with) αὐτῶν (them), ἐγὼ (I) ἐτήρουν (was keeping) αὐτοὺς (them) ἐν (in) τῷ (the) ὀνόματί (name) σου (of You), ᾧ (which) δέδωκάς (You have given) μοι (Me). καὶ (And) ἐφύλαξα (I guarded them), καὶ (and) οὐδεὶς (none) ἐξ (of) αὐτῶν (them) ἀπώλετο (has perished), εἰ (if) μὴ (not) ὁ (the) υἱὸς (son) τῆς (-) ἀπωλείας (of destruction), ἵνα (that) ἡ (the) γραφὴ (Scripture) πληρωθῇ (might be fulfilled).

¹⁷ ἁγίασον (Sanctify) αὐτοὺς (them) ἐν (by) τῇ (the) ἀληθείᾳ (truth); ὁ (the) λόγος (word) ὁ (-) σὸς (of You) ἀλήθειά (truth) ἐστιν (is).

¹⁹ καὶ (and) ὑπὲρ (for) αὐτῶν (them) ἐγὼ (I) ἁγιάζω (sanctify) ἐμαυτόν (Myself), ἵνα (that) ὦσιν (may be) καὶ (also) αὐτοὶ (they) ἡγιασμένοι (sanctified) ἐν (in) ἀληθείᾳ (truth).

³² Καὶ (And) τὰ (-) νῦν (now) παρατίθεμαι (I commit) ὑμᾶς (you) τῷ (to) θεῷ* (God) καὶ (and) τῷ (to the) λόγῳ (word) τῆς (of the) χάριτος (grace) αὐτοῦ (of Him), τῷ (-) δυναμένῳ (being able) οἰκοδομῆσαι (to build up) καὶ (and) δοῦναι (to give) τὴν (you) κληρονομίαν (an inheritance) ἐν (among) τοῖς (those) ἡγιασμένοις (having been sanctified) πᾶσιν (all).

²³ παρέστη (Stood by) γάρ (for) μοι (me) ταύτῃ (this) τῇ (-) νυκτὶ (night) τοῦ (-), Θεοῦ (of God), οὗ (whose) εἰμι (am) [ἐγώ] (I) ᾧ (whom) καὶ (and) λατρεύω (I serve), ἄγγελος (an angel),

²² νυνὶ (Now) δέ (however), ἐλευθερωθέντες (having been set free) ἀπὸ (from) τῆς (-) ἁμαρτίας (sin), δουλωθέντες (having become slaves) δὲ (now) τῷ (-) Θεῷ (to God), ἔχετε (you have) τὸν (the) καρπὸν (fruit) ὑμῶν (of you) εἰς (unto) ἁγιασμόν (sanctification); τὸ (-) δὲ (now) τέλος (the end) ζωὴν (is life) αἰώνιον (eternal).

³⁰ οὓς (Those whom) δὲ (then) προώρισεν (He predestined), τούτους (these) καὶ (also) ἐκάλεσεν (He called); καὶ (and) οὓς (whom) ἐκάλεσεν (He called), τούτους (these) καὶ (also) ἐδικαίωσεν (He justified); οὓς (whom) δὲ (then) ἐδικαίωσεν (He justified), τούτους (these) καὶ (also) ἐδόξασεν (He glorified).

²⁴ οὓς (whom) καὶ (even) ἐκάλεσεν (He has called), ἡμᾶς (us) οὐ (not) μόνον (only) ἐξ (out from) Ἰουδαίων (the Jews), ἀλλὰ (but) καὶ (also) ἐξ (out from) ἐθνῶν (the Gentiles)?

¹⁸ οἱ (-) γὰρ (For) τοιοῦτοι (such) τῷ (the) Κυρίῳ (Lord) ἡμῶν (of us) Χριστῷ (Christ) οὐ (not) δουλεύουσιν (serve), ἀλλὰ (but) τῇ (the) ἑαυτῶν (of themselves) κοιλίᾳ (belly); καὶ (and) διὰ (by) τῆς (-) χρηστολογίας (smooth talk) καὶ (and) εὐλογίας (flattery) ἐξαπατῶσιν (they deceive) τὰς (the) καρδίας (hearts) τῶν (of the) ἀκάκων (naive).

² Τῇ (To the) ἐκκλησίᾳ (church) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God) «τῇ (-) οὔσῃ (being) ἐν (in) Κορίνθῳ» (Corinth), «ἡγιασμένοις (having been sanctified) ἐν (in) Χριστῷ (Christ) Ἰησοῦ» (Jesus), κλητοῖς (called) ἁγίοις (holy), σὺν (together with) πᾶσιν (all) τοῖς (those) ἐπικαλουμένοις (calling on) τὸ (the) ὄνομα (name) τοῦ (of the) Κυρίου (Lord) ἡμῶν (of us) Ἰησοῦ (Jesus) Χριστοῦ (Christ) ἐν (in) παντὶ (every) τόπῳ (place), αὐτῶν (both theirs) καὶ (and) ἡμῶν (ours):

¹¹ καὶ (And) ταῦτά (such) τινες (some of) ἦτε (you were); ἀλλὰ (but) ἀπελούσασθε (you were washed), ἀλλὰ (but) ἡγιάσθητε (you were sanctified), ἀλλὰ (but) ἐδικαιώθητε (you were justified), ἐν (in) τῷ (the) ὀνόματι (name) τοῦ (of the) Κυρίου (Lord) Ἰησοῦ (Jesus) Χριστοῦ (Christ) καὶ (and) ἐν (by) τῷ (the) Πνεύματι (Spirit) τοῦ (of the) Θεοῦ (God) ἡμῶν (of us).

²⁶ ἵνα (so that) αὐτὴν (her) ἁγιάσῃ (He might sanctify), καθαρίσας (having cleansed her) τῷ (by the) λουτρῷ (washing) τοῦ (-) ὕδατος (of water) ἐν (by) ῥήματι (the word),

¹² παρακαλοῦντες (exhorting) ὑμᾶς (you) καὶ (and) παραμυθούμενοι (comforting) καὶ (and) μαρτυρόμενοι (charging) εἰς (unto) τὸ (-) περιπατεῖν (to walk) ὑμᾶς (you) ἀξίως (worthily) τοῦ (-) Θεοῦ (of God), τοῦ (who) καλοῦντος (calls) ὑμᾶς (you) εἰς (into) τὴν (the) ἑαυτοῦ (of Himself) βασιλείαν (kingdom) καὶ (and) δόξαν (glory).

²³ Αὐτὸς (Himself) δὲ (now), ὁ (the) Θεὸς (God) τῆς (-) εἰρήνης (of peace) ἁγιάσαι (may sanctify) ὑμᾶς (you) ὁλοτελεῖς (completely); καὶ (and) ὁλόκληρον (entirely) ὑμῶν (your) τὸ (-) πνεῦμα (spirit) καὶ (and) ἡ (-) ψυχὴ (soul) καὶ (and) τὸ (-) σῶμα (body), ἀμέμπτως (blameless) ἐν (at) τῇ (the) παρουσίᾳ (coming) τοῦ (of the) Κυρίου (Lord) ἡμῶν (of us) Ἰησοῦ (Jesus) Χριστοῦ (Christ), τηρηθείη (may be preserved).

¹³ Ἡμεῖς (We) δὲ (however) ὀφείλομεν (ought) εὐχαριστεῖν (to give thanks) τῷ (-) Θεῷ (to God) πάντοτε (always) περὶ (concerning) ὑμῶν (you), ἀδελφοὶ (brothers) ἠγαπημένοι (beloved) ὑπὸ (by) Κυρίου (the Lord), ὅτι (that) εἵλατο (has chosen) ὑμᾶς (you) ὁ (-) Θεὸς (God) ἀπ᾽‿ (from) ἀρχῆς (the beginning), εἰς (unto) σωτηρίαν (salvation) ἐν (in) ἁγιασμῷ (the sanctification) Πνεύματος (of the Spirit), καὶ (and) πίστει (by faith) ἀληθείας (of the truth); ¹⁴ εἰς (to) ὃ (this) καὶ (also) ἐκάλεσεν (He called) ὑμᾶς (you), διὰ (through) τοῦ (the) εὐαγγελίου (gospel) ἡμῶν (of us), εἰς (to) περιποίησιν (the obtaining) δόξης (of the glory) τοῦ (of the) Κυρίου (Lord) ἡμῶν (of us) Ἰησοῦ (Jesus) Χριστοῦ (Christ).

¹⁸ ῥύσεταί (Will deliver) με (me) ὁ (the) Κύριος (Lord) ἀπὸ (from) παντὸς (every) ἔργου (deed) πονηροῦ (evil) καὶ (and) σώσει (will bring me safely) εἰς (into) τὴν (the) βασιλείαν (kingdom) αὐτοῦ (of Him) τὴν (-) ἐπουράνιον (heavenly), ᾧ (to whom is) ἡ (the) δόξα (glory) εἰς (unto) τοὺς (the) αἰῶνας (ages) τῶν (of the) αἰώνων (ages). ἀμήν (Amen).

⁹ Ὑμεῖς (You) δὲ (however) γένος (are a race) ἐκλεκτόν (chosen), βασίλειον (a royal) ἱεράτευμα (priesthood), ἔθνος (a nation) ἅγιον (holy), λαὸς (a people) εἰς (for His) περιποίησιν (possession), ὅπως (so that) τὰς (the) ἀρετὰς (excellencies) ἐξαγγείλητε (you may proclaim) τοῦ (of the One) ἐκ (out of) σκότους (darkness) ὑμᾶς (you) καλέσαντος (having called), εἰς (to) τὸ (the) θαυμαστὸν (marvelous) αὐτοῦ (of Him) φῶς (light),

¹⁰ Ὁ (The) δὲ (now) Θεὸς (God) πάσης (of all) χάριτος (grace), ὁ (the one) καλέσας (having called) ὑμᾶς (you) εἰς (to) τὴν (the) αἰώνιον (eternal) αὐτοῦ (of Him) δόξαν (glory) ἐν (in) Χριστῷ (Christ), ὀλίγον (a little while) παθόντας (of you having suffered), αὐτὸς (He Himself) καταρτίσει (will perfect), στηρίξει (will confirm), σθενώσει (will strengthen), θεμελιώσει (and will establish you).
